  • PHP Include Paths

    Hi, I'm new to PHP and I'm having a problem when trying to link my CSS files using include. Basically I need my files to link back to a certain directory no matter how far down the file is. I have tried using <?php include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/sysprogs/required/header.html'; ?> But header.html contains the links to my css files so the directory it ends up looking for the css files in is http://localhost/SysProgs/software/CSS/style.css instead of where I want it to go to which is http://localhost/SysProgs/required/CSS/style.css I hope that made sense and I hope you can help me

  • Java URL("file://") doesn't work on Windows XP

    For some reason the following code doesn't work on Windows XP. new URL("file://" + tempfile.getAbsolutePath()); I'm using Java 1.6. Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_31-b05) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode, sharing) However, the same code just works fine in OS X (Lion) and Java 1.6 java version "1.6.0_29" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_29-b11-402-11M3527) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.4-b02-402, mixed mode) Linux (Linux 2.6.32-38-generic #83-Ubuntu x86_64 GNU/Linux) with Java 1.6 java version "1.6.0_26" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.1-b02, mixed mode) Based on this the above code should work.

  • Web development - relative URLs without duplicating files

    I have a site with index.php in the root folder, images in /img , and overview.php in /content . I have a sidebar.php file that is included in both index.php and overview.php . How should I refer to /img/image.gif if I include a link in each file? The location of image.gif changes relative to the location of the file that references it. Using /img/image.gif in sidebar.php will work in index.php, but it fails for the file located at /content/overview.php. The only solution that I can see is to either include a seperate sidebar.php in each subdirectory, or include an /img directory in every sub-directory. The best suggestion that I can find is to use the <base html tag as suggested here: Change relative link paths for included content in PHP However, in the same link, SamGoody suggests that the <base tag "is no longer properly supported in Internet Explorer, since version 7." I'd like some insight on the matter before committing to a course of action. Thanks.   • Are there any libraries for parsing "number expressions" like 1,2-9,33- in Java

    Hi, I don't think it is hard, just tedious to write: Some small free (as in beer) library where I can put in a String like 1,2-9,33- and it can tell me whether a given number matches that expression. Just like most programs have in their print range dialogs. Special functions for matching odd or even numbers only, or matching every number that is 2 mod 5 (or something like that) would be nice, but not needed. The only operation I have to perform on this list is whether the range contains a given (nonnegative) integer value; more operations like max/min value (if they exist) or an iterator would be nice, of course. What would be needed that it does not occupy lots of RAM if anyone enters 1-10000000 but the only number I will ever query is 12345 :-) (To implement it, I would parse a list into several (min/max/value/mod) pairs, like 1,10,0,1 for 1-10 or 11,33,1,2 for 1-33odd, or 12,62,2,10 for 12-62/10 (i. e. 12, 22, 32, ..., 62) and then check each number for all the intervals. Open intervals by using Integer.MaxValue etc. If there are no libs, any ideas to do it better/more efficient?)

  • Architecting ASP.net MVC App to use repositories and services

    Hello, I recently started reading about ASP.net MVC and after getting excited about the concept, i started to migrate all my webform project to MVC but i am having a hard time keeping my controller skinny even after following all the good advices out there (or maybe i just don't get it ... ). The website i deal with has Articles, Videos, Quotes ... and each of these entities have categories, comments, images that can be associated with it. I am using Linq to sql for database operations and for each of these Entities, i have a Repository, and for each repository, i create a service to be used in the controller. so i have - ArticleRepository ArticleCategoryRepository ArticleCommentRepository and the corresponding service ArticleService ArticleCategoryService ... you see the picture. The problem i have is that i have one controller for article,category and comment because i thought that having ArticleController handle all of that might make sense, but now i have to pass all of the services needed to the Controller constructor. So i would like to know what it is that i am doing wrong. Are my services not designed properly? should i create Bigger service to encapsulate smaller services and use them in my controller? or should i have an articleCategory Controller and an articleComment Controller? A page viewed by the user is made of all of that, thee article to be viewed,the comments associated with it, a listing of the categories to witch it applies ... how can i efficiently break down the controller to keep it "skinny" and solve my headache?     Hi, We have a requirement that every piece of code that makes it into production will be reviewed by a senior developer. The way I have envisioned this working is by a naming convention for branches that regular developers cannot check code into. Following the SVN recomended directory structure this translates into something like. [project-name]/trunk/ [project-name]/branches/ [project-name]/branches/development-01 [project-name]/branches/development-02 [project-name]/branches/task-increasefontsize [project-name]/branches/release-01 [project-name]/branches/release-02 [project-name]/tags/ So in the authz file I would like to have something like the following [/] @developers = rw [/*/branches/release-*] @developers = r @senior_developers = rw However I can't find any evidence that SVN supports * (or any other wildcard character). Is such a thing possible or do I need a pre-commit hook?

  • Injecting correct object graph using StructureMap in Queue of different Objects

    I have a queuing service that has to inject a different dependency graph depending on the type of object in the queue. I'm using Structure Map. So, if the object in the queue is TypeA the concrete classes for TypeA are used and if it's TypeB, the concrete classes for TypeB are used. I'd like to avoid code in the queue like: if (typeA) { // setup TypeA graph } else if (typeB) { // setup TypeB graph } Within the graph, I also have a generic classes such as an IReader(ISomething, ISpomethingElse) where IReader is generic but needs to inject the correct ISomething and ISomethingElse for the type. ISomething will also have dependencies and so on. Currently I create a TypeA or TypeB object and inject a generic Processor class using StructureMap into it and then pass a factory manually inject a TypeA or TypeB factory into a method like: Processor.Process(new TypeAFactory) // perhaps I should have an abstract factory... However, because the factory then creates the generic IReader mentioned above, I end up manually injecting all the TypeA or TypeB classes fro there on. I hope enough of this makes sense. I am new to StructureMap and was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction here for a flexible and elegant solution. Thanks

    I seem to remember an older version of F# allowing structural decomposition when matching sequences just like lists. Is there a way to use the list syntax while keeping the sequence lazy? I'm hoping to avoid a lot of calls to Seq.head and Seq.skip 1. I'm hoping for something like: let decomposable (xs:seq<'a>) = match xs with | h :: t -> true | _ -> false seq{ 1..100 } |> decomposable But this only handles lists and gives a type error when using sequences. When using List.of_seq, it seems to evaluate all the elements in the sequence, even if it is infinite.

I'm wondering wether I should use mutexes to ensure thread-safety.     I have quickie: When you code/develop themes, how do you link to various files in your html/css code? Example: We at our firm use mostly <base target="http://whatever"> in our main template and then just <img src="./images/file.png"> in our html, "/category/page" as links and something alike in our css. However, when testing on different machines, we use ip address rather than localhost on main dev station of coder, so all base links don't work (because localhost goes to viewing machine, not coder's, in our network). Same thing happens when updating pages - on dev server, we have to edit base target, so browsing site won't take us to live site - this part is actually rather simple PHP (if ... echo else echo something else), but it still not solve problem of more coding-testing problems. So, my question is, how do YOU solve it? How do you use relative links, which basically don't care for what domain is the page on and don't care for url rewrite? (because ../images/ is different for / and different for /something/somethingElse/page)?

    Hi, My problem is that I have an image of a detailed street map. On this map, there can be a certain small image of a sign (such as a traffic light icon) rotated at any angle, maybe resized. I have this small image in a bitmap. Is there any algorithm or technique by which I can locate this bitmap if a copy of it exists, rotated and maybe resized, in the large collage image? This is similar to the problem with Augmented Reality and locating the marker image, but mine is only 2D with no perspective distortion.
