• Problems with unique links in database: www.doamin/ or domain/

  In my website everybody can send some links to other nice websites. All links in my database must by unique, but some links are with 'www.' prefix, and some without. Some ends for '/', some not. For example: |http://www.domain.com |http://domain.com |http://domain.com |http://domain.com/ and other problems can be with https or http. I know that I should change address before saving to database, but what standard I should use?

  I'm attempting to add a Test Settings file to my Unit Tests project in VS2010. All websites seem to simply say "Go to Add New Item Installed Templates Test Settings". However, I don't have Test Settings as an option in my Installed Templates (nor does searching for them online turn up any results).   If I visit 1 website www.abc.com that has a reference to say jQuery hosted at Google Code, and then I visit a 2nd website www.xyz.com that has the same reference - will the file be cached across both websites? i.e. will it re-download it on the 2nd website, or just use it from cache?

• In 2011 is it truly necessary to still degrade js?

  Serious question. I tried most of the famous websites (including facebook) and I can say that tons of functionality doesn't degrade at all with js disabled. I've been always told that js should degrade gracefully, but does this still applies in these day and age? ie6 support is being dropped by several sites, and most of the web2.0 relies heavily on js (especially ajax, I even found some sites that doesn't let you login without js enabled). What are your thought about it?
