• Can you pass _POST variables from 1 server to another?

  I have a web form on an IIS server (has no PHP). I have a PHP script on a LAMP server. My _POST var array is coming up empty on the LAMP server. My suspicion is I cannot pass POST vars from 1 server to another but I would like to have that confirmed. Does anyone know the answer to this? If that's the case then I know I need to with use _GET vars in the URL's Query String or set a cookie (which I can do because both servers are config'd with the domain name). Thanks for your help.

Is there a way to expand the arguments and pass to console.log like the way above?   Hello, I'm creating a Win32 program that will be executed every time the computer turns on. I manage to do this by adding the .exe path into the registry. The problem is; I want to make the program appear minimized in the system tray when the computer is turned on but if I double click it [after the computer turns on and the program is not currently running] the program should appear on its normal [maximized] size. Question, I was thinking on whether is was possible to pass an argument to the program when the program is executed from the registry. Is this possible? If yes/no, how would I manage to do this?   I need to take a number from a list and convert it to a number so that i can pass it as a parameter. im trying to make a 1-bit adder in scheme. i've written the code for the or gate and the xor gate and also the half adder and now im trying to combine them all to make a full adder. im not sure if im going about it the right way. any input will be appreciated thank you.   I have a logic problem: We have a database that has a donations table with name, address, last donation year, and last donation term (Spring and Fall). We want to pull all donors unless they donated in the last term (Spring or Fall). I have been trying to figure out the logic of pulling all years up to the current year while omitting the last term. So for example this year is 2012 and we are in the Spring term (I defined the spring term between 1/1 and 6/30) so I only want to display donors before and including spring 2011 (we will exclude the current term which is spring 12 and the last term which is fall 2011). The problem is I want to pull sprig 2011, fall 2010, spring 2010 etc, but only omit the current term and last term donated.

  I have a fully working Setup project within Visual Studio 2008 that takes inputs from a UI and passes them via a Custom Action to the output - this works perfectly. Now I have to change this so that the UI is still in a setup project but that the output is within a merge module. The current Custom Action Data looks much like the following with EditHostUrl coming from a UI dialog editbox. /HostUrl="[EditHostUrl]" I now need to pass this value to the merge module and then from there use it as an input for the custom action data to the project output but there does not seem to be any documentation on how to achieve this. To be clear Wix/InstallShield etc... are not currently options. I would also rather not embed the UI within the merge module (for reasons of separation and also it's not supported out of the box with visual studio).

  Here is something I can do in java, take the results of a repeated parameter and pass it to another method: public void foo(String ... args){bar(args);} public void bar(String ... args){System.out.println("count="+args.length);} In scala it would look like this: def foo(args:String*) = bar(args) def bar(args:String*) = println("count="+args.length) But this won't compile, the bar signature expects a series of individual strings, and the args passed in is some non-string structure. For now I'm just passing around arrays. It would be very nice to use starred parameters. Is there some way to do it?

  I have Visual C++ application that needs to communicate with a ASP.NET web service. Specifically, the app needs to pass structured data (e.g. objects that contain lists of structures, etc) as a parameter to one of the service methods. The C++ application is already generating an xml document that contains this data. The document is generating using an xml library, so it should always well-formed. What is a good method for passing this data to the web service? I'm thinking about passing the document to the web service as a string parameter, then deserializing to a .NET object based on an xsd. But, I hear that passing an xml doc as a string parameter is not recommended. So, my questions: What are the pitfalls associated with sending the document as a string parameter, assuming that the document itself is always well-formed? Assuming the above is a bad idea, what are some good alternate approaches?

• What is the best way to pass server side variables to JavaScript on the client side?

  Our application uses a lot of configuration options. Those options need to be reflected on the client side in the form of User preferences, site wide preferences, etc. Currently, we pass server side settings down to the client side in the form of JSON that is stored in custom attributes in the markup for a specific element (and no, our application currently doesn't worry about W3C validation). We then retrieve the data from the custom attribute, and parse it into a JSON object for use in script using jQuery. One drawback to this is referencing attributes on elements from within event handlers. I know this is frowned upon, as it can create circular references, and subsequently memory leaks. I would much prefer to use jQuery's data function, but you can't invoke this from the server side at page render time. What does everyone else do in this type of scenario?

E.g if I have an schema Array(Foo1,Foo1,Foo2,Foo3,Foo1) I could parse Arrays of bytes that complain with that schema, if at some point I have a different stream of bytes I could just write a new schema Array(Foo3, Foo4, Foo5) without having to reimplement parsing logic. (Note it is a GET): public ActionResult MyView(MyDTO dto) { return View(dto) } The problem is that the instance of MyObject is coming back as null, where val1 and val2 have data. Has anyone run across this?
