  • Searching SharePoint site with Windows Explorer

    Every week, I manually backup recent versions of the files on my group's SharePoint site. I open the library in Windows Explorer, search for all files modified in the past week, then copy and paste them to a network location. We need this process because our SharePoint site has a quota that we would easily meet if we had unlimited versions, so we keep a history of older versions on the network. Recently I got an upgrade to my work computer and I am unable to search the site using Windows Explorer. When I run the search for files modified in the last week no results are returned. If I run a search with no criteria on the file library, all the files are found but the "modified on" field is blank. So the search results only have the file and type fields. The new computer has Windows XP, just like the old one did. I hope this makes sense. Does anyone have any clue what the problem could be? I'd be happy to provide more info if necessary. It's bugging me to no end and I'm not even sure where to begin looking - it's either a trivial issue or a very obscure one. Thanks a lot.

    We're rolling out a redesign of helpcurenow.org, and we've implemented a Twitter feed in the footer. (I'm the design & front end guy, my coworker is the scripting & backend guy). All is well with the Twitter feed in all major browsers except internet explorer, version 8 and later. However we have no clue why IE is not pulling the feed at all.   • How to start "explorer" process using command line (Vista)?

    Is there a way to start windows "explorer" process from command line? Because of some problem in my Vista OS, explorer process crashes frequently (i can not see TaskBar after that) but using the open windows i can access the cmd.exe ( ctrl+alt+delete does not work). If there could be a command to start "explorer" process again or to start the Task manager then that would help a lot. Thanks Edit: explorer command starts the explorer process, but alt+ctrl+del is still not working, any help?

  • How do I change Firefox's user agent via about:config?

    My work has blocked Internet access with Firefox. I know how to change the value of “general.useragent.extra.firefox” through about:config, but when I try to change it to IE, I still can’t access any website. I have Firefox 3.5.6 and Internet Explorer 7 installed on my desktop. Now, would I have to use the user agent that Internet Explorer 7 is currently using on my computer or can I use any Internet Explorer user agent? The user agent that Internet Explorer 7 is using right now is: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; InfoPath.2; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; .NET CLR 3.5.21022). Do I just copy that and use it as the user agent in Firefox? How can I make this work?

  • Does Internet Explorer 7 have a CSS parsing issue with the "background-image" property?

    Having CSS layout issues with Internet Explorer 7 (big surprise). Upon using the Developer Tools to inspect the CSS, I discovered that some properties defined in the stylesheet are not appearing in the parsed CSS structure... THEN I saw THIS being shown as the parsed value for the background-image property: background-image : url(/trunk/httpdocs/images/layout/HCBL_Homepage_01.jpg); WIDTH: 1200px; pretty much obliterating the width that was defined property. The actual code in the CSS file for this element: div#header { width: 1200px; height: 100px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-image: url('/trunk/httpdocs/images/layout/HCBL_Homepage_01.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; } If anyone could offer any insight, or provide a link describing this problem (and maybe a workaround...) I would be very appreciative. Also, I am only interested in this from a parsing of the stylesheet and CSS syntax perspective. I am not concerned with rendering and display issues at the moment; I simply want to get IE 7 (and I have a feeling IE 6 will have similar issues) to recognize and parse ALL of the CSS properties that have been defined in the stylesheet.     OS: WinXP SP3 When pressing win+E or open Windows Explorer, under My Computer, usually there are several disk drives. But somehow they just disappeared. If I type c:\ in address bar, then the disk will re-appear in the tree though. How to get them back? Thanks.

    The new version of Process Explorer shows network activity history, but it doesn't in one of my computers. This particular PC runs Windows XP SP3 and it has just been reformatted so everything is "fresh". I have even installed WinPCap and Microsoft Network monitor, in case some of these drivers were necessary, but the graph stays in 0. Any ideas why this could happen? I would ask in Sysinternal's forum, but I really don't want to register in yet another forum.

    When updating a repository using Tortoise SVN, Explorer on Windows XP tends to choke and freeze in regular intervals. Something like 4 seconds freeze, 1 second fluent work. I imagine this may be caused by the (too many) svn:externals? Is this a known issue? Do you know of a way to fix this?

    So I just upgraded my system to the Windows 7 RTM, and I've noticed they took away the ability to customize the shortcuts in the Games Explorer. Is there a third-party application that would allow me to customize the shortcuts without having to do so manually? I know how to do it, but it's a pain, and I'd rather have a GUI do the dirty work for me.
