    Hi, We trying to choose an IDE for C++ development on Linux. The proposed options are KDevelop and Eclipse. Eclipse is highly customizable, but Java centric and heavy.   • django-admin.py startproject mysite not working well on windows 7

    Hi I'm learning django and I did successfully start a site on Window XP by following the tutorial. However, on Window 7 when I issued: django-admin.py startproject mysite python.exe was started and a window appeared to ask me to choose either python.exe or other program to open a file.... did I do anthing wrong or there are more tricks for window 7? thanks.

    When I publish a Flash file that contains any sound (such as a WAV file), I can choose the sound compression method (MP3, raw, ADPCM, etc.). My question is about the mp3 compression and it's licence. Flash gives me the option to compress a WAV file as mp3, but is the licence to use the mp3 format included? I have paid for a Flash licence, does it give the right to use mp3 in my SWF files freely or do I have to pay royalties to someone else?

Usually if I need to implement a multi IO server with "pure" sockets, the select based multi-IO model is always the one I will choose. so does anyone of you have ever used named pipe in select or you can just tell me it is impossible. thanks in advance.

  • Why Windows Live Spaces Fetch Image Through HTTPS?

    I happens to find that, when a live space page is loaded, inline images are fetched by https protocol instead of http protocol. This doesn't make sense. The text part of live space is not fetched by https, why images are fetched with https? I bet the https way to fetch image just make the page loaded slower. Is there any special advantage to choose https over http in this case?

  • Ubuntu option vanishes after setting up windows XP(?) [closed]

    I have installed both windows XP as well as Ubuntu 9.04 on my machine.I can choose between them using dual boot option at the startup.Up to this, it is fine. But unfortunately when my XP crashes, I need to install XP again.But when I do it,after installing XP successfully, dual boot option no longer appears at the startup. So the Ubuntu goes in vein. What is the problem here? How do I solve it?

  • What's the smallest DirectX installer I can distribute in my Software?

    My application uses DirectX 9.0c. There are many installers for the end-user run-times, ranging from 400Kb to 100Mb+ and obviously I don't want to bloat my installer file. However, I believe there are potentially legal restrictions which mean I can't just distribute whichever MS installers I might choose. This is the one I'd ideally like to include, is it the best /correct one?

    Hello, I need to choose the right CI build tool which will: 1. Support groups of build configurations so we can use the standardized build process for all our projects 2. Support dashboard with "pretty" (for executive/director "eye" :-) reports. 3. Support Java, Maven, Ant, and be somewhat customizable for build process itself (though this is optional, as I can "fix" it with scripts) I'd prefer free and open source tool, but paid version is fine too. It is trivial to do for the oledb connection string as described here: MSDN Article on MSDASC.DataLinks().Prompt I've also found examples that use Microsoft.Data.ConnectionUI.dll and MicrosoftData.ConnectionUI.Dialog.dll from VS (HOWTO: Using the Choose Data Source dialog of Visual Studio 2005 from your own code). Unfortunately these DLLs are not licensed for redistribution. Is there a standard dialog for choosing a data source that can be distributed with my application?

    I need to limit number of entities returned by a query to some certain value inside a JPA query (through JPQL). Particularly: select m from Manual m //constraint e.g. in sql (mysql syntax) I would do it like: select * from Manual limit 1 The only solution that comes up is simply to get all entities and then choose first one, which is out of the issue. Any ideas?

  • Watir question regarding select_list and reloading

    I have a drop down with multiple options. Whenever you choose an option, the page reloads with data specific with that option. Currently I'm using select.list(:name, strg).set(value) and it does that part just fine, but it does not reload the page with the specific data. Anyone know how to help. When i watch it in action, it doesn't select the option either, but my logs show that it does.Thanks.
