• Programatically enable / disable multitouch finger input?

  I have a multitoch-enabled tablet PC running Windows 7. However, when using the stylus pen and getting too far away from the display, I often accidently hit it with my fingers which causes unwanted mouse-clicks. The solution is navigating to "Control Panel - Pen- and Finger Input - Finger Input" and deactivate the checkbox "Use the finger as an input device" (all titles translated so they might be different on an English windows). Now I am wondering whether I can do this programatically, too, so I would be able to write a little tray app for this. I tried using Process Monitor to find out registry keys, however, I did not find one which really shows the same effect as the checkbox. Does anyone know how to access this property (without using UI-Automation)? Cheers winSharp93

• Reflection Permission problems when using the GSON library in a applet.

  I'm writing an Applet that makes some JSON-RPC calls. I'm using the Google JSON library (GSON) to cast the response JSON into a class. Thsi seems to work fine as is but when I use this code in my Applet, I'm hit with a java.lang.reflect.reflectpermission. From what I read on this thread on SO, it seems that since GSON uses Reflection, I cannot use it in Applets unless I explicitly modify the security policy. How can I get around this? I've created a bunch of classes in my application and was using the Gson.fromJson method to cast it into the class. Is there any way to achieve the same functionality without having to re-write half my code. (The complexity of dealing with JSON in Java seems to be in a league of its own!) Thanks in advance guys.

• Scanf with Signals

  I have a signal that blocks SIGINT and basically says "Sorry, you can't quit.\n" The issue is this can occur during a scanf. When this occurs during a scanf, scanf takes in the printf as input. How can I do a printf that will cause scanf to basically hit the enter key automatically. I don't care that I am getting bad input. I just want to programatically finish that scanf with a printf or something else. Process: scanf("get stuff") - User is able to enter stuff in. - SIGINT occurs and goes to my handler. - Handler says "Blah blah blah" to stdout. - Scanf has taken this blah blah blah and is waiting for more input. How do I make it so that when I return scanf is finished (don't care what it has gathered I just want it to continue without user help).

  Hi, I am getting java.io.EOFException while reading a binary block from lucene index. I am storing java object as byte-array in lucene index field and reading it when hit occurs. Here is stack trace : Caused by: java.io.EOFException at java.io.ObjectInputStream$PeekInputStream.readFully(ObjectInputStream.java:2281) at java.io.ObjectInputStream$BlockDataInputStream.readShort(ObjectInputStream.java:2750) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readStreamHeader(ObjectInputStream.java:780) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.(ObjectInputStream.java:280) at org.terracotta.modules.searchable.util.SerializationUtil$OIS.(SerializationUtil.java:20) I have some background threads which write into index. But i buffer them and then write them at once like 1000. Occasionally I also issue optimize() on index. When I write, I am re-opening IndexReader.   I'm writing some unit tests in UnitTest++ and want to write a bunch of tests which share some common resources. I thought that this should work via their TEST_FIXTURE setup, but it seems to be constructing a new fixture for every test. Sample code: #include <UnitTest++.h> struct SomeFixture { SomeFixture() { // this line is hit twice } }; TEST_FIXTURE(SomeFixture, FirstTest) { } TEST_FIXTURE(SomeFixture, SecondTest) { } I feel like I must be doing something wrong; I had thought that the whole point of having the fixture was so that the setup/teardown code only happens once. Am I wrong on this? Is there something else I have to do to make it work that way?

• How can I have HTML tab expansion in ST2 w/ Emmet inside Handlebars templates(emberjs)?

  Okay, so I'm using Sublime Text 2 with Emmet. But "Tab" expansion of HTML snippets doesn't work inside a script because of the scope. Example: In HTML, I can type "h1" and then hit tab, and it will generate "" When using Ember.js, and more specifically Handlebars, it doesn't work. <script type="text/x-handlebars"> h1 </script> Pressing tab after that "h1" doesn't expand it because it's inside a script; Emmet turns this off. I can press Ctrl+E, which is the "expand anywhere" hotkey, and that works just fine. However, that is uncomfortable and prone to missing and hitting things like Ctrl+S or Ctrl+D which have undesired effects. So, how can I change this? I tweeted at the developer, and got a reply, https://twitter.com/chikuyonok/status/398708331969540096 But couldn't understand what to do.

  The error "error parsing XML: unbound prefix" shows up on my main layout: main.xml when I first open Eclipse. To make the error go away, all I have to do is make a modification to the file, then undo it, then hit save (have to make a change in order to be able to save file and thus trigger the new syntax check). My environment is: Fedora Eclipse Platform Version: 3.4.2 Based on build id: 20090211-1700 My target is Android API level 5. The first time I saw the error I spent a long time trying to track down "the problem" but later realized there isn't really a problem, it's just a phantom error.   When returning data from a DataReader I would typically use the ordinal reference on the DataReader to grab the relevant column: if (dr.HasRows) Console.WriteLine(dr[0].ToString()); (OR dr.GetString(0); OR (string)dr[0];)... I have always done this because I was advised at an early stage that using dr["ColumnName"] or a more elegant way of indexing causes a performance hit. However, whilst everything is becoming increasingly strongly-typed I feel more uncomfortable with this. I'm also aware that the above does not check for DBNull. How should data be returned from a DataReader?

  I´m trying out entity framework included in VS2010 but ´ve hit a problem with my database/model generated from the graphical interface.   Hi guys, I am new to ninject, I am wondering how I can run custom initizlisation code when constructing the injected objects? ie. I have a Sword class which implements IWeapon, but I want to pass an hit point value to the Sword class constructor, how do I achieve that? Do I need to write my own provider? A minor question, IKernel kernel = new StandardKernel(new Module1(), new Module2(), ...); what is the actual use of having multiple modules in Kernel? I sorta understand it, but could someone give me a formal explaination and use case? Thanks a lot! James

• Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors

  I have a security certificate linked to a CDN's server. The main website is https:www.connect4fitness.com When I pull the site up in firefox or chrome, everything works fine. But in IE I get the following error: "Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors." On IE 9 it shows the button "Display Content" and you can get past the error by clicking on the button. On older versions on I the error message is much more cryptic and is confusing users. Please note that I don't have the option of asking end users to add the site to Trusted Sources as some folks use the site from their work computers and do not have that access. Also, some people don't bother to call once they hit the error. I have looked at the content and all my links are "https" only. I had one namespace link and I got rid of it. Any idea about how I can find what is triggering this message?

• What parser generator do you recommend

  I'm currently shopping for a FOSS parser generator for a project of mine. It has to support either C or C++. I've looked at bison/flex and at boost::spirit. I went from writing my own to spirit to bison to spirit to bison to spirit, each time hit by some feature I found unpleasant. The thing I hate most about bison/flex is that they actually generate C/C++ source for you. There are a number of disadvantages to this, e.g. debugging. I like spirit from this point of view, but I find it very very heavy on syntax. I am curious about what you are using, what you would recommend, and general thoughts about the state of the art in parser generators. I am also curious to hear about approaches being used in other languages for parsing problems.

• How do I test SendInput in c#

  How can I tell if my call to SendInput is working properly? I have a small snippet below, and the message never seems to get hit. SendInput() returns 1, and there's no errors, so I assume that the message is going out properly. • Quartz in Webapplication

  I have a question in scheduling jobs in web application. If we have to schedule jobs in web application we can either use java util Timer/TimerTask or Quartz(there are also other scheduling mechanism, but I considered Quartz). I was considering which one to use, when i hit the site http://oreilly.com/pub/a/java/archive/quartz.html?page=1 which says using timer has a bad effect as it creates a thread that is out of containers control in the last line. The other pages discuss Quartz and its capabilities, but I can read that Quartz also uses thread and/or threadpool to schedule tasks. My guess is that these threads are also not under the containers control Can anybody clarify this to me Is it safe to use Quartz in my web applications without creating hanging threads or thread locking issues? Tried this by hand and in editor this is what it kicks back. Msg 8152, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated. Please include a sql statement or where I need to make the edit so I can mark this post as a reference in my favorites. Thanks!

  Suppose I have a line of code that starts like the following: Func1(Func2(Func3 Is it possible to set up Visual Studio (2005, 2008, 2010) IDE, so that when I hit ';' it will auto-complete all the brackets. I am only interested in brackets, nothing fancier. It doesn't have to be ';' key, it can be another key that auto-completes both brackets and ';'. This is a tiny thing that pops-up time and time again, and I've always wondered if I had to live with it. Thanks.

• UISearchDisplayController changing row height

  I've set my UITableView row height to in Interface Builder to 54.0. I have a UISearchDisplayController on that view. When the user taps the search bar in it, the table resizes properly. However, when they start typing (and actually doing the search) the row height decreases. It stays wrong until the search taps Cancel. I could find no documentation on this behavior on Apple's site. I've tried setting the row height in UISearchDisplayDelegate delegate calls. This might be the right approach, but I don't know the details and couldn't get it ti work. I've also tried implementing -- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView -heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath;. This worked, but I have thousands of entries in this list and can't take the performance hit. What's the right way to fix this?

• Jquery.form plugin and jquery.validation and it's submitHandler not working correctly... please help

  Hello guys, I was hoping someone can shed some light on what might be occurring on my page. Okay what I currently have on my page is a simple form that collects first name, last name, city, state and email. Once submitted it will hit a PHP page that updates our DB and echo's back to the designted div with a class of .response. I am using jquery.validation and placing that dynamic function within the submitHandler like so: submitHandler: function(form) { $(form).ajaxSubmit({ target: '.response', // target element(s) to be updated with server response resetForm: true, success: function() { $('#commentform').hide(); $('.response').show(); } }); So what I am getting is a div that is not being populated with the echo from my php file in FF and in IE I am getting the message of thank you but the page is taking me to the update.php script in which I have the form action pointing to.   I'm using TextMate on Snow Leopard, don't know much about how it works. After I hit an unknown keyboard shortcut, it suddenly decided to highlight almost all text in my Python files dark red - making all my Python virtually unreadable! I must have accidentally pressed a shortcut - but I've no idea what I did or how to turn it off, and can't find any relevant help in the manual or form. Even just 'turn off all highlighting' would do. Anyone know how to turn this highlighting off? Bit desperate!

  I've heard that DotNetNuke takes a bit of a hit for Search Engine Optimization. I'm not criticizing the platform, by the way; I love DNN. This is just what I've heard. As I understand it, the impact is from repetitive content, table-based layouts, and lots of extra markup. I've got a friend who would like to start an e-commerce site using DNN and some modules from Snowcovered. I was just wondering whether DNN would be a good platform to choose. The idea is attractive because of the ease with which a DNN commerce system can be deployed. Search-engine friendly URLs aren't the problem - the modules do that, it's whether DNN as a whole would be a good platform for this. Thanks very much for any help or advice.

• Android app (with felix) crashes with LinearAlloc exceeded capacity

  I am running apache felix and an osgi app on android (3.2). This works pretty well so far, but I have rather large chunks of data to load into the application (osgi bundles). The problem with that is that when I load the biggest chunk of data I get LinearAlloc exceeded capacity The error seems to come from LinearAlloc.c \#define DEFAULT_MAX_LENGTH (4*1024*1024) if (nextOffset > pHdr->mapLength) { /* * We don't have to abort here. We could fall back on the system * malloc(), and have our "free" call figure out what to do. Only * works if the users of these functions actually free everything * they allocate. */ LOGE("LinearAlloc exceeded capacity, last=%d\n", (int) size); dvmAbort(); } afaik in 3.2/4.x it is even 8*1024*1024, but I still hit that limit. I'm looking to get better insight on what causes this problem and how I might possibly be able to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.
