    Hi! I was wandering if it's possible to run an Ubuntu virtual machine using VirtualBox in background, I mean, without any window open. The idea is to conect via SSH to the linux host, that would be running in background. Have you ever done somenthing like this? Is it possible? Thanks!

  • Loosing network cached passwords after a restart on Vista

    The passwords cached for Network shares on other computers and applications like MSN Live, MS Outlook, Sharepoint portal, Outlook Webmail, etc are lost when I reboot my computer, which runs on Vista. I always check the Remember password checkbox in applications/login dialogs where ever prompted. I cannot imagine of a third party program that may clean up this on system restart/shutdown. Any idea, as to what is going wrong?

    I am having problems with the refresh rate if the screen . In the the refresh mode of the monitor in the monitor options have only one option 60Hz. I have LG 24 + ATI Radon 3870, and have already installed the ATI driver via Ubuntu download center. Any idea how I solve that one? Thanks.

    Is it possible to monitoring mysql like: if some queries is run more then 300 seconds - it will be warnings if some queries is run more then 500 seconds - it will be critical I tried: /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_mysql_health --hostname localhost --username icinga --password XXX --mode slow-queries --warning 300 But is show only rate slow_queries/per second :( Do you have some idea how i can monitoring sth. like i want?     "# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time." my question is when and where the module loading job done? my first guess is some init scripts in /etc/init.d/ but grep got none. then i think it might be the init ramdisk, but after decompress it, i found conf/modules which is different with /etc/modules. any idea? thanx.

  • How to fix Visual Studio 2008 freeze?

    My Visual Studio 2008 freezes under some conditions. First, after a restart it is fine, but once it starts updating IntelliSense and counting down items it stops on the same number (the number slightly changed with further changes in the project). After that I get a sure freeze for: right-click in the code to get a context-menu changing from Debug to Release and vice versa quitting visual studio After a freeze I have to kill the process. Any idea what is wrong here?

    I am trying to install Websphere 7 x64 on RHEL 6 x64. I am using Developer edition. When I try to execute ./install on the command prompt, it waits for few seconds and then returns to prompt without any error.     I have a proxy server which allows users to connect and authenticates them via user/pass but some of them are complaining about this method since not many of the available proxy software support that method so I wish to config my squid in such way that it allows members to connect via user/pass or based on their pc ip but I'm not sure if that could work.   • How do I fix a corrupted copy of .Net Framework on Windows 7?

    I receive the following error when trying to run applications that require .net Framework 3.5: "Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest." I've tried numerous fixes, such as reinstalling through ad/remove software, copying the .net folder over from a clean windows 7 install, and running the .net cleanup tool. Just wondering if anyone has run into this issue before, or has an idea on how to fix it.

  • HP Smart Array p400i with Intel X25-M 160 SSD

    I have a pair of x25-M 160 Intel SSD's in an HP DL360 G5 with a p400i Smart Array running 512 BBWC. The disk performance I am getting on this box and another identical one does not come close to matching the same two drives running through a cheap 3ware RAID card. Any idea? I have played with the cache settings, but nothing allows me to get the same results. It seems like the Smart Array controller is the bottleneck.

    My exim4 don't send any message. The logs says 2011-03-09 15:59:57 1PxKrl-00038i-BT malware acl condition: clamd: ClamAV returned /var/spool/exim4/scan/1PxKrl-00038i-BT: lstat() failed: Permission denied. ERROR I supose that clamav (running clamd) does'nt have access rights on the mentioned file, but clamav is in the same group as Debian-exim (running exim4). Even changing the folder permissions to a+rwx has no effect. Any idea where to look for failure reason ?

It's accessible perfectly to everyone outside of my local network, but since I switched to a Gateway 2Wire DSL modem/router I'm unable to use the domain to access the server from my network. I can access it via a local IP or by putting it in my Windows hosts file but this is annoying to do on every computer and for every subdomain. Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks!
