• Ubuntu One Sync for multiple folders, not just the Ubuntu One folder.

  Hello, I may have misunderstood Ubuntu One as a service, but this is how I had pictured it. At home, I tagged a few folders with the "Sync to Ubuntu One" tick and it started uploading. Now back at work, on Win7, I installed Ubuntu One and thought I was going to be able to tick which of the backed-up folders I could download/sync to this machine. From what I gather after a little research is that whatever I would like to synchronize would need to be in the Ubuntu One folder? There is no way to do this outside of that? Thanks for confirming, or informing me whether this will be introduced in the future as an option? Thank you very much for your help on this! bisi

  Hello. So I have some experience programming in Java, and at the moment I am learning how to use Python. I have read on the process of game design and such. I also have media covered, got experience with graphics and audio. My question is geared more towards the actual tools to use for making games, developing. I am willing to commit to a long term development cycle, as I will be doing this as a hobby. I've heard of Flash, Gamemaker, etc. I don't intend to create my own Game Engine, so I was looking for a platform that is extensible and easy to program with an OOP mind frame. As a plus it would be great of said game could be played directly from a website. TIA!

• Error trying to run a python program

  Hello guys I'm actually new to Terminal and Python. Just started following a Python tuturial on my Ubuntu and I've reached a part where it asks me to save a .py file and open it in Terminal. Only when I try to type on Terminal $ python egotrip.py I get $: command not found Then I try to type it in python and I get File "", line 1 python egotrip.py ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax But I mean all names are correct :( Then I gave also tried /home/anacah/Desktop/python/egotrip.py And I get Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in NameError: name 'home' is not defined What am I doing wrong? :( can someone please help?

  hello friends I have a samsung netbook n102sp atom processor 1.6, 2GB ddr3 ram and a intel 3150hd chiset chart, well the problem is the following the regular work pc has audio, lan, wi-fi reconose the video but I only lansa the resolution of 800 x 600 and I can not upload that's in the details of the computer I get into graphics (VESA: Intel ® Graphics XX) and I can not see videos because they only hear the audio and I use the vlc player I investigate intel 3150hd drivers and try to install layered but I was not please someone help me because it's an ugly work 800 x 600 and I can not see videos please, if anyone knows how to install the driver from Intel that are on the web please guide me when applied dpkg-s xserver-xorg-video-intel tells me that this driver installed ( XvMC "XVideo Motion Compensation" drivers for i810/i815 and i9xx and newer chipsets.)

  Hello, I recently couldn't configure my mod_rewrite where I'm using Wordpress and MyBB. And now I need Your help, because I couldn't deal with it... Here is the code: The problem is with third, fifth and sixth line. On the third, it couldn't display comments (error 404). On fifth, forum categories are not working.   Hello, I know outside aggregates cant change anything inside an aggregate without passing by his root. That said i would like to know if an aggregate root can hold references of members (objects insides) of another aggregate root? (fellowing DDD rules) Example : a Calendar contain a list of phases which contain a list of sequences which contain a list of assignations Calendar is root because phases and sequences and assignations only work in context of a calendar. You also have Students and Groups of student (called groups) It is possible (fellowing DDD rules) to make Groups holding references of assignations or it need to pass by the root for accessing groups from assignations ?   Hello Webmasters, I am a Wordpress fan, and I'm now building a new site and I'm not sure which CMS can achieve what I'm trying to do. I am building a food blog network for a bunch of cities in the US, and I want to my city pages to be independently running blogs themselves. So basically... Home Page - Its own blog with its own users, talking about Food in general Dallas Page (child of home page) - Its own blog with its own users Chicago Page ..... so on and so forth. The web layout and design will be all the same, but just trying to achieve 25~50 independent blogs on one domain. How can I achieve this?   Hello I am looking for a way to get bank account information (transactions and balance) from a financial institution and display it on a website. The question is vague intentionally.... Everything is open. I haven't chosen a bank, serverside technology or front end technology. The idea is to have a script run automatically periodically (once or twice a day) and get the latest account information from the bank server automatically. Probably something in the direction of OFX (Open financial exchange), HBCI (home banking c.. interface), fnts or something like it. Even working over a closed source API is not out of question: Wesabe or Mint or something.   Hello /* programmers */ (I usually hang in SO) I've been discussing a conceptual project with a friend of mine and the the most effective way we've seen of doing it is writing the engine in C++ while the logic would be done in Ruby. However, we would need data to be passed around often, for example: Engine reports that A happened, that gets triggered in a proc array (event "A" is passed but proc doesnt use it) Ruby decides that we need to wait for B to happen Ruby adds a proc to an array. The array of procs is iterated during each cycle in the C++ engine C++ engine reports that B happened and passes "event B (should be a ruby object) Ruby receives event B and decides what to do next I don't work with multiple languages often, and was wondering if it's possible to implement things in this way. I know that there's the ruby VALUE in C++, but would like to know the standard way of combining the two. (of course I know ruby follows the perl "more than 1 way to do it", but there's often a standardized way)

  Hello fellow programmers, I am reading a book on C# and the author is comparing Abstract classes and Interfaces. He claims that if you have the following "abstract class:" abstract class CloneableType { public abstract object Clone(); } Then you cannot do this: public class MiniVan : Car, CloneableType {} This, I understand. However he claims that because of this inability to do multiple inheritance that you should use an interface for CloneableType, like so: public interface ICloneable { object Clone(); } My question is, isn't this somewhat misleading, because you can create an abstract class which is "above" class Car with the method Clone, then have Car inherit that class and then Minivan will inherit Car with all these methods, CloneAble class - Car class - Minivan Class. I whould like to know in what encryption should I encode my data and why first of all, I use GET method because it is search engine inside website. second, I use RTL language (hebrew) and thrid which basically is why I ask this question - firefox and safari (as I understood) encode and decode urls automaticly so if I encoded url, in firefox I will see it decoded which is good but if I copy-paste the url to the address bar and than enter the site firefox encode the uncoded url to utf (i think). anyway, what en/decode should I use, and how can I overcome the firefox auto en/decode?

I am currently reading a book named "3D Graphics with XNA Game Studio 4.0" by Sean James and have some questions to ask : If i create a effect parameter named lets say SpecularPower and have in my effect a variable named SpecularPower , if i do something like effect.Parameters["SpecularPower"].SetValue(3) That wil change the SpecularPower variable in my effect ? And a second question, not regarding the book : If i have a spaceship and i've created a "boost" functionality that speeds up my spaceship, what effects should i implement to create the impresion oh high speed ?   Hello I am looking for best practices when it comes to uploading images on facebook fan pages. I notice on Dell, US Cellular, and the Gap that they load all of their images on one of their web servers. Are there any alternatives? I was hoping for something like being able to upload photos and then hide the gallery. But I couldn't find anything like that. The reason that I ask is that I have access to someone's facebook fan page but not to their webserver so it would be extra work to email someone who does have access the photos and have them upload them to their web server.

  Hello everyone, the organization I work at wants to create a custom Ubuntu LiveCD, the customizations are: Pre-installed programs, plugins, some device drivers, and aesthetics such as icons and backgrounds, as well as changing Firefox's homepage and removing unneeded packages. Not big changes, obviously, and we wish to distribute this custom image for clients to use as a bootable CD or USB stick in order to have a quick environment where all our tools are available instantly. What are the licensing and legal consequences of this? What if some of the programs or plugins that are to be pre-packaged are not GPL'd? • farseer physics xbox samples not working

  I have downloaded a few of the sample projects from the official farseer physics website and i just cant get them to run on my xbox. -My connection to the xbox is fine, other xbox projects debug fine on my xbox -I have tried running both the xbox versions of the samples (for example the farseer hello world sample project) and the windows version by right-clicking the project and making a copy for xbox. I get a bunch of errors but what i always get is "unreachable code detected" referring to code in the farseer library, it seems to be a problem to do with referencing/linking the farseer library to the main game project. Help please!

I started learning HTML on windows 7 before switching to Ubuntu and know my HTML images are not working even after i made new images on Ubuntu and put the correct path and made sure the images are .png. After all that the site does not load the new images and the coeds are just fine i put my HTML files on cloud storage before switching to Ubuntu so its not the codes. Also i am using Mozilla Fire Fox.

I have a template structure similar to the below one: /templates/place1/inner_a.tpl /templates/place1/inner_b.tpl /templates/place2/inner_b.tpl /templates/place2/inner_c.tpl /templates/default/inner_a.tpl /templates/default/inner_b.tpl /templates/default/inner_c.tpl These are getting included on the parent template using {include file="{$temp_folder}/{$inner_template}"} So far great. What I wanted to do is having a default for, in the case that the file "{$temp_folder}/{$inner_template}" does not exists, it uses the equivalent file at "default/{$inner_template}". i.e. If I do {include file="place1/inner_c.tpl"}, since that file does not exists it in fact includes "default/inner_c.tpl" Is it possible?

  If I had a code which terminated based on if a random number generator returned a result (as follows), would it be 100% certain that the code would terminate if it was allowed to run forever. while (random(MAX_NUMBER) != 0): // random returns a random number between 0 and MAX_NUMBER print('Hello World') I am also interested in any distinctions between purely random and the deterministic random that computers generally use. Assume the seed is not able to be known in the case of the deterministic random. Naively it could be suggested that the code will exit, after all every number has some possibility and all of time for that possibility to be exercised. On the other hand it could be argued that there is the random chance it may not ever meet the exit condition-- the generator could generate 1 'randomly' until infinity. (I suppose one would question the validity of the random number generator if it was a deterministic generator returning only 1's 'randomly' though)

• How does google calculate bounce rate?

  Hello We run a website where we sell access to a member area. We use Google analytics to optimize the site but i have a bounce rate in about 85%. The problem is that I'm not sure what count as a bounce and whats not. If a person go to my front page and log in directly. Will this count as a bounce because there is no analytics on the member pages or is Google smart enough to see that the link is on my side? Thanks a lot.
