  • How to Use Eclipse to Debug JNI code (Java & C/C++)

    - by tkryger
While I can debug my application with the Eclipse JDT debugger for Java code and GDB for C code, I would prefer to use a single tool for all my debugging. I found several projects that enable "mixed-mode" debugging in Eclipse and include support for single stepping between Java and native code. Intel's Integrated Debugger for Java/JNI Environments Mariot Chauvin's Summer of Code Project: Support Seamless Debugging between JDT & CDT Unfortunately, one claims to be pre-release quality and the other is currently unmaintained. Are there any plug-ins that bring mixed mode debugging functionality to Eclipse in a reliable way or should I continue to use two separate debuggers?

  • I am looking for an actual functional web browser type control for .NET, maybe a C++ LIBRARY#$??$?

    - by Joshua
I am trying to emulate a web browser in order to execute JavaScript code and then parse the DOM. The System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser object does not give me the functionality I need. It let's me set the headers, but you cannot set the proxy or clear cookies. Well you can, but it is not ideal and messes with IE's settings. I've been extending the WebBrowser control pinvoking native windows functions so far, but it is really one hack on top of another. I can mess with the proxy and also clear cookies and such, but this control has its issues as I mentioned. I found something called WebKit .NET (http://webkitdotnet.sourceforge.net/), but I don't see support for setting proxies or cookie manipulation. Can someone recommend a c++/.NET/whatever library to do this: Basically tell me what I need to do to get an interface to similar this in .NET: string FetchBrowserParsedHtml(Uri url, WebProxy p, int timeoutSeconds, byte[] headers, byte[] postdata); void ClearCookies(); I am not responsible for my actions.

  • Android Multiple objects in SimpleAdapter

    - by Adam Sherratt
    I have a need (unless you can think of a better way) of passing multiple objects to a custom list adapter. I know that I'm barking up the wrong tree here, and would appreciate someone setting me on the right course! Thanks playlistadapter = new MyPlaylistAdapter(MyApplication.getAppContext(), songsList, retained_songsList, folderMode, R.layout.file_view, new String[] { "songTitle","songAlbum", "songPath" }, new int[] { R.id.checkTextView, R.id.text2, R.id.text3 }); And my adapter class: public class MyPlaylistAdapter extends SimpleAdapter{ private ArrayList <Song> songsList = new ArrayList<Song>(); private ArrayList <Song> retained_songsList = new ArrayList<Song>(); private ArrayList<Song> playlistcheck = new ArrayList<Song>(); private String folderMode; private String TAG = "AndroidMediaCenter"; public MyPlaylistAdapter(Context context,List<Song> SongsList, List<Song> Retained_songsList, String FolderMode,int resource, String[] from, int[] to) { super(context, null, resource, from, to); songsList.clear(); songsList.addAll(SongsList); Log.i(TAG, "MyPlayListAdapter Songslist = " + songsList.size()); retained_songsList.clear(); retained_songsList.addAll(Retained_songsList); folderMode = FolderMode; } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { //PlayListViewHolder holder; CheckedTextView checkTextView; TextView text2; TextView text3; if (convertView == null) { LayoutInflater inflater = (LayoutInflater) MyApplication.getAppContext().getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); //LayoutInflater inflater=getLayoutInflater(); convertView=inflater.inflate(R.layout.file_view, parent, false); //convertView.setBackgroundColor(0xFF00FF00 ); //holder = new PlayListViewHolder(); checkTextView = (CheckedTextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.checkTextView); text2 = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.text2); text3 = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.text3); //convertView.setTag(holder); } else { //holder = (PlayListViewHolder) convertView.getTag(); } //put something into textviews String tracks = null; String tracks_Details = null; String trackspath = null; tracks = songsList.get(position).getSongTitle(); tracks_Details = songsList.get(position).getAlbum() + " (" + songsList.get(position).getArtist() + ")"; trackspath = songsList.get(position).getSongPath(); checkTextView = (CheckedTextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.checkTextView); text2 = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.text2); text3 = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.text3); checkTextView.setText(tracks); if(folderMode.equals("Playlists")){ checkTextView.setBackgroundColor(Color.GREEN); checkTextView.setChecked(false); try { int listsize_rs = retained_songsList.size(); for (int j = 0; j<listsize_rs;j++){ if((retained_songsList.get(j).getSongPath()).equals(songsList.get(position).getSongPath())){ checkTextView.setBackgroundColor(Color.TRANSPARENT); //Need to check here whether the checkedtextview is ticked or not checkTextView.setChecked(true); playlistcheck.add(songsList.get(position)); break; } } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } }else { //Need to check here whether the checkedtextview is ticked or not try { if (songsList.get(position).getSongCheckedStatus()==true){ checkTextView.setChecked(true);   • Javascriptlibrary more efficient than Rickshaw for realtime visualizations

    - by dan kutz
I want to visualize data as time-series graphs on mobile devices(tablets) and therefore stumbled upon rickshaw, which is based on D3. First I must say I was a little bit confused when I realized that realtime in web design is defined totally different to realtime in engineering which has fixed(and often very short) timeframes. Anyway my aim is to visualize the data as fast as possible, and on older tablets visualization with rickshaw is quite slow. Can anybody recommend another library, which may be more efficient in rendering? Or is there no way out and I have to go native? regards Dan.

  • Have you switched from CodeIgniter to Kohana?

    - by Eli
Hi All, I usually just work with straight PHP, but want to try MVC and see if a framework will really speed up development. After much waffling, analysis paralysis, and many dumb SO questions, I thought I had settled on CodeIgniter for my next PHP project. However, I am now seriously considering Kohana. Has anyone made the switch from CI to Kohana? If so, why? What's better about the actual code, libraries, etc? Edit: Hi All, I did end up going with Kohana. It's easy to use, but more importantly, it's easy NOT to use, since there are a lot of things I like to work with native PHP for. It's ridiculously extensible, well coded, and seems like it is beginning to pull out ahead of CI in a few things like putting views in views, passing subview data, etc. I am sure CI will catch up, but Kohana should be 3 steps ahead by then =o)

  • Applet problem with IPlanet and Firefox (class not found)

    - by JB Hurteaux
I have an applet which loads nicely when accessed locally (both IE and Firefox). However, when I put my webpage in a webserver (local IPlanet), it refuses to load on Firefox (but still fine on IE). I get the following error in the java console: load: class XXX.localprinting.LocalPrintingApplet.class not found. java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: XXX.localprinting.LocalPrintingApplet.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2ClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed:https://XXX/test/XXX/localprinting/LocalPrintingApplet/class.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.access$000(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) ... 7 more Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: XXX.localprinting.LocalPrintingApplet.class Any idea what could explain the different behavior in the webserver? I researched the issue of "class not found" already but without finding something relevant.

I've got the report builder, the part I'm trying to figure out is how to render the report server side and send it out as email (native flex functionality? convert to html? take screenshot? assume something is running client side?...) Please help me with some ideas. Thanks!

  • NoClassDefFoundError with new eclipse bundle

    - by djmedic
I am informed by a customer that they are receiving an error. On the report they filed it is continuosly coming up with NoClassDefFoundError. It appears none of my other customers are having this issue. I'm not having this issue running the app on my Motorola Droid Maxx. The customer is running the app on a rooted Droid Bionic. Everything was working fine on my version at 2.3 but when I updated it to 2.4, this issue arose. I also replaced my computer with a new and now I am running windows 8 and installed the adt bundle. The only change I made to the file in question in changing a -90 to -85. Below is the code...I have also included below the code the error report. This is only happening on phone. import android.app.Activity; import android.content.Context; import android.content.Intent; import android.net.ConnectivityManager; import android.net.NetworkInfo; import android.os.Bundle; import android.telephony.PhoneStateListener; import android.telephony.SignalStrength; import android.telephony.TelephonyManager; public class ConnectivityCheck extends Activity { TelephonyManager Tel; MyPhoneStateListener MyListener; boolean isGsm; boolean cellAvailable; int strengthAmplitudeGSM; int strengthAmplitudeCDMA; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle); ConnectivityManager connec = (ConnectivityManager)getSystemService(Context.CONNECTIVITY_SERVICE); if (connec.getNetworkInfo(0) != null) { cellAvailable = true; } if (cellAvailable) { /* Update the listener, and start it */ MyListener = new MyPhoneStateListener(); Tel = ( TelephonyManager )getSystemService(Context.TELEPHONY_SERVICE); Tel.listen(MyListener ,PhoneStateListener.LISTEN_SIGNAL_STRENGTHS); } if (connec.getNetworkInfo(1).getState() == NetworkInfo.State.CONNECTED) { startActivity(new Intent(ConnectivityCheck.this, LicenseCheck.class)); if (cellAvailable) { Tel.listen(MyListener, PhoneStateListener.LISTEN_NONE); } finish(); } else if (cellAvailable) { if (connec.getNetworkInfo(0).getState() == NetworkInfo.State.CONNECTED && strengthAmplitudeCDMA >= -90) { startActivity(new Intent(ConnectivityCheck.this, LicenseCheck.class)); Tel.listen(MyListener, PhoneStateListener.LISTEN_NONE); finish(); } else if (connec.getNetworkInfo(0).getState() == NetworkInfo.State.CONNECTED && isGsm && strengthAmplitudeGSM >= 10 && strengthAmplitudeGSM <= 31) { startActivity(new Intent(ConnectivityCheck.this, LicenseCheck.class)); Tel.listen(MyListener, PhoneStateListener.LISTEN_NONE); finish(); } else { startActivity(new Intent(ConnectivityCheck.this, ProtocolsMMenuActivity.class)); Tel.listen(MyListener, PhoneStateListener.LISTEN_NONE); finish(); } } else { startActivity(new Intent(ConnectivityCheck.this, ProtocolsMMenuActivity.class)); if (cellAvailable) { Tel.listen(MyListener, PhoneStateListener.LISTEN_NONE); } finish(); } } /* Called when the application is minimized */ @Override protected void onPause() { super.onPause(); if (cellAvailable) { Tel.listen(MyListener, PhoneStateListener.LISTEN_NONE); } } /* Called when the application resumes */ @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); if (cellAvailable) { Tel.listen(MyListener, PhoneStateListener.LISTEN_SIGNAL_STRENGTHS); } } /* Start the PhoneState listener */ private class MyPhoneStateListener extends PhoneStateListener { /* Get the Signal strength from the provider, each tiome there is an update */ @Override public void onSignalStrengthsChanged(SignalStrength signalStrength) { isGsm = signalStrength.isGsm(); strengthAmplitudeGSM = signalStrength.getGsmSignalStrength(); strengthAmplitudeCDMA = signalStrength.getCdmaDbm(); super.onSignalStrengthsChanged(signalStrength); } };/* End of private Class */ } Here is the error report java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.emsprotocols.njalsprotocolspaidac.ConnectivityCheck at com.emsprotocols.njalsprotocolspaidac.ProtocolsSplashActivity$1.onAnimationEnd (ProtocolsSplashActivity.java:144) at android.view.animation.AnimationSet.getTransformation(AnimationSet.java:411) at android.view.animation.Animation.getTransformation(Animation.java:920) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:2657) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:2489) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:2885) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:2489) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:2885) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:2489) at android.view.View.draw(View.java:11009) at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:450) at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.draw(PhoneWindow.java:2154) at android.view.ViewRootImpl.draw(ViewRootImpl.java:2096) at android.view.ViewRootImpl.performTraversals(ViewRootImpl.java:1679) at android.view.ViewRootImpl.handleMessage(ViewRootImpl.java:2558) at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:137) at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4722) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:511) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:787) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:554) at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method)

  • How to edit doxygen.config from shell script?

    - by Sayan Ghosh
Hi, I tried using Apple's shell script to automate doc set creation with every build (and loading that in XCode) - http://developer.apple.com/tools/creatingdocsetswithdoxygen.html but found that it had some bugs. Firstly it's not updating the entries in doxygen.config, perhaps one needs to put the settings in the exact hierarchy as it appears in the native doxygen file (?). My intention is to specify the settings in the following fashion in the shell script, and have a suitable config file generated tailored to my needs. ... echo "DOCSET_FEEDNAME = Some app" $TEMP_DIR/doxygen.config echo "GENERATE_LATEX = NO" $TEMP_DIR/doxygen.config echo "RECURSIVE = YES" $TEMP_DIR/doxygen.config ... Thank you, Sayan

  • Programming language for fast calculations with big integers

    - by sub
I'm doing Project Euler problems at the moment and I can solve most of them using my own programming language which uses direct C++ integers (so they are bound to 2^32 on my machine). However, at times there are problems which require me to work with very high numbers, I can't do that with native integers. So I implemented a BigInt library in my language which unfortunately gets extremely slow at times. Is there a programming language suitable for very efficient handling of big numbers? I mean that I want to do the things I could do in other programming languages with it (variables, loops, etc.), but in a faster way. If you have got tips for workarounds of the 2^32 limit in my language/C++/other languages, please tell me too!

  • Why does $('#id') return true if id doesn't exist?

    - by David
I always wondered why jQuery returns true if I'm trying to find elements by id selector that doesnt exist in the DOM structure. Like this: <div id="one">one</div> <script> console.log( !!$('#one') ) // prints true console.log( !!$('#two') ) // is also true! (empty jQuery object) console.log( !!document.getElementById('two') ) // prints false </script> I know I can use !!$('#two').length since length === 0 if the object is empty, but it seems logical to me that a selector would return the element if found, otherwise null (like the native document.getElementById does). F.ex, this logic can't be done in jQuery: var div = $('#two') || $('<div id="two"></div>'); Wouldnt it be more logical if the ID selector returned null if not found? anyone?

  • How to use PHP-based authentication from non-PHP based AJAX app?

    - by DavidR
I've been asked to create a stand-alone webapp using "straight" HTML and Javascript that does user authentication against an existing PHP app (backend is MySQL). Unfortunately, I really don't have a firm grasp on how PHP authentication works, and I'd rather not invest a lot of time in learning PHP just for this particular case. I can see two possibilites so far 1) create a PHP wrapper around my new app and use native PHP authentication (don't like this) 2) create a simple REST-ful webservice around the PHP authentication (don't know how to do this) Anything else I should consider? Help is much appreciated!

  • GWT - RichTextArea - ScrollTo

    - by Yanick Rochon
If I have an RichTextArea like this : RichTextArea rta = new RichTextArea(); rta.setHTML("<p id=\"foo\">Foo</p>....<p id=\"bar\">Bar</p>"); If I extend the RichTextArea class, how would be the proper way (cross-browser wise) to write a scrollTo() method? Ex: class RichTextAreaExt extends RichTextArea { ... public native void scrollTo(String element) /*-{ // the underlaying DOMElement is an iframe, so.... }-*/; ... } Thanks!

  • UIActivityViewController 101

    - by Anthony Guay
I'm starting to get familiar with the new iOS 6 way to share: UIActivityViewController (the same as when you share a photo from the native iOS photo app), but I'm experiencing a few problems. First, when I choose to share via email, I can't find a way to set the subject of the email. Second, when I post on twitter, I can't find how to post a URL (except explicitly writing it in a NSString). Before, on iOS 5, I was using MFMailComposeViewController for Mail and SLComposeViewController for Twitter. It worked well. If there's no way to choose the subject with UIActivityViewController, could there be a way that I put my own custom buttons on the ActivityViewController, buttons that will call MFMailComposeViewController and SLComposeViewController when touched? I'm just speculating here. Thanks!

  • MonoDevelop seems to hang (not unresponsive) when building csprojs

    - by Michael Shimmins
Building a solution from Visual Studio in mono develop seems to have some issues. I'm hoping someone else has experienced this and has some suggestions. The actual dcms process goes pretty quickly, but in between projects it hangs after printing: Building: XXX.YYY.ZZZ (Debug) After a few minutes (been 10 so far on this current run), it jumps to: Performing main compilation... /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/2.10.1/bin/dmcs /noconfig "/... Build complete -- 0 errors, 0 warnings Building: XXX.YYY.ZZZ (Debug) Then hangs again for another few minutes. This is a sln file with 29 csproj projects in it that was originally created in Visual Studio 2010. I'm wondering if there is a better way to set this up - potentially a native MD file format?

  • Setting breakpoint in c# code with ADPlus

Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to set a breakpoint in C# code using ADPlus. I find several examples of config files but they always works with native code. Like this one: <ADPlus> <Breakpoints> <NewBP> <!-- Set the breakpoint on ExitProcess. --> <Address>kernel32!ExitProcess</Address> <Type>BP</Type> <Actions>FullDump;Stacks;</Actions> <ReturnAction>G</ReturnAction> </NewBP> </Breakpoints> </ADPlus> Something like this would be useful: <Address>MyCSharpClass.SomeMethod</Address>

  • Allowing developer-specific settings in VS2008 projects

    - by Xavier Nodet
Is it possible to combine the following properties, and if so, how? Store in our version control system some Visual Studio 2008 native C++ project files for the developers in our team that use this IDE. Allow some of those developers to tweak their projects (e.g. using debug version of third-party libraries instead of the usual ones). Make sure these modifications are done in files that are not versioned. In other words, I would like to allow developers to tweak some settings in their projects without risking that these changes are committed. An 'optional VSPROP' file approach seems doomed to fail, as VS2008 refuses to load projects that refer to non-existent VSPROP files... Any other suggestion? Is this possible with VS2010?

This perhaps more a Server Fault question... I installed schema2src via sbaz and now I would like to convert a DTD (Apple's plist schema) to Scala source. $ schema2src usage: schema2src [flags] --module mname arg* or schema2src dtd arg* or (experimental) schema2src xsd arg* (this doesn't work at all yet) where supported [flags] may be: --verbose prints some debugging information However, if I try give any argument, it appears it can't find Scala: $ schema2src --verbose Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: scala/runtime/BoxesUtility at schema2src.Main$.processArgs(Main.scala:56) at schema2src.Main$.main(Main.scala:25) at schema2src.Main.main(Main.scala) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: scala.runtime.BoxesUtility at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:315) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:330) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:250) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:398) ... 3 more I have scala in my PATH...
