• .htaccess configuration issue

  Hi, i am using two website on one domain like: www.example.com & www.example.com/site2, i want to know that on my site2, in my site2 their are 2 folders name folder1 and folder2 my index.php is in folder2 but the defination of methods defined in folder2 i am including the files through .htaccess but i am unable to get those files which are in folder1 and getting Error-500 and 400 on browser and i am using following lines but they are not working in .htaccess file The line below works fine RedirectMatch ^/$ http://www.example.com.pk/site2/views/ AllowOverride All php_value include_path ".:/home/example/public_html/site2/system" waiting for your quick response. • How can I setup my local Nginx server so I can edit the files?

  I have my local development machine running Arch Linux, Nginx, PHP-FPM and MySQL. In order for the websites I am working on to run the files need to be owned by the http user. The files are currently located in folders like this: /srv/http/site1/ /srv/http/site2/ When I use the following chown command on the http folder the sites work fine, but I cannot edit the files with my user: chown -R http.users /srv/http When I do this the sites do not work, but I can edit the files: chown -R shane.http /srv/http How can I make it so that my user can edit the files, and the web server can run them at the same time? • Current alternative to the old CHECKSUM program

  I'm looking for an application that does md5/sha hash check on specific files/folders periodically and store an index file per folder for future verification. I remember such application exist in DOS days, to detect files infected by virus. The main purpose for this is to detect corrupted copy of backup, as I understand that consumer grade hardware are not 100% error free when doing backup or file transfer from device to device. The hash can also be used to generate a list of changed files for backup. Most of the software I can find is hash manually. EDIT: Windows based application, preferably a shell extension which I can right click on a folder and do a checksum/verify all files in that folder. Even better if that can integrate with a backup/sync program like BeyondCopy

• Apache 2.4.2 with PHP 5.4.4 crashes as soon as phpinfo() script is opened

  As soon as i open a phpinfo() script called version.php apache stops working. Here is the error.log file. My configuration (my local development machine): Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 with latest updates Apache 2.4.2 win32 from Apache Lounge PHP 5.4.4 VC9 x86 TS from PHP For Windows php5apache2_4.dll (PHP 5.4.4) taken from Apache Lounge php5apache2_4.dll-php-5.4-win32.zip PATH environment variable is PATH=C:\WAMP\Apache\bin;C:\WAMP\PHP and installation folders (unzipping) are: C:/WAMP/Apache C:/WAMP/PHP Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 x86/x64 installed and updated. • Cannot access Network Shares on Windows Server 2008 running VisualSVN Server

  I have installed VisualSVN server on Windows Server 2008. The server is part of a domain but not the domain controller, it is just a data server and now an SVN server. VisualSVN uses port 80 and can only be access from inside the network (i do i by going to the dns name of the server). However, ever since i have installed this, other computers on the network can no longer access the shared folders on the server EXCEPT the domain controller which has no problems accessing the shares. I am stumped, i am guessing it is something to do with Apache running and not using host-headers (or whatever the Apache equivalent may be) but just being bound to the servers DNS name or IP. Any suggestions?

• Incremental backup up from a remote ftp box to a Windows server

  I need to backup a website to a Windows server every week and I only have access to remote FTP. I'd like to use an incremental backup program so that I can just copy the files every week on a schedule and not worry too much about the size of the backups becoming an issue. Unfortunately, I can't find a Windows program that will automatically make incremental backups of specific FTP folders and files, as most programs are designed to backup to FTP, not from it. Are there any applications that can do this? I also have a Ubuntu 10.04 box I could use to relay the site to the Windows server if I needed to run Linux programs, but I would prefer a Windows-only solution over a Linux/Windows one, and a combined Linux/Windows solution over not having it work at all.

  I have searched through all the redirects posted buy others and cant quite find the answer to my problem. I have a website with over 3000 pages and we are getting duplication issues within google. We want to keep everything in the parent directory to be http except our contact.php and login.php page. We then have 3 folders that must be secured. admin, clients, customers I have tried using the following code in seperate .htaccess files for each folder, but I keep getting a conflict when I try and I am still trying to find a good solution for the home directory. RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} admin RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.website.com/$1 [R,L] Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Dedicated Server emails ending up in Junk

  I have a dedicated server that works fine. Recently I added a new domain with a new dedicated IP address. The emails from the webserver gets sent out from the primary IP address which is different from the IP address of the domain. This causes the emails to end up in the Junk email folders. Is there anything I can do changing the SMTP server to the new IP address or configuring send mail? I need this for my php server on centos.

  Note: I'm posting this here on Superuser as I think the issue is more related to the Windows Installer than the game itself. My friend is having trouble installing Company of Heroes and CoH: Opposing fronts under Windows 7. A couple of percent into the installation, when the C/C++ runtime is being installed, the install fails with the following message: An error occured while installing the Windows Installer package "C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\...\...\vcredist.msi". Error code 10212:00000659: MsiInstallProductW returned 00000659: This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator. We have tried: Making sure that any previous installations have been completely removed, including searching and deleting any files/folders/registry entries matching "THQ" (the publisher) and "Relic" (the developer). Installing into a brand new user account Running Setup.exe as administrator Running Compatibility check for Setup.exe, which suggested Windows XP but failed when trying those settings out Does anyone know what might be the cause of the system policy error?

• Right Clicking Network File Very Slow Over VPN

  I am having real troubles with a VPN connection. The VPN connection is not used for a internet connection just for file browsing. File browsing is slow, taking about 3-4 seconds to bring up a list of folders. I can live with this, however the problem is when I right click on a file. Sometimes the right click menu comes up instantly but sometimes it brings up the wait icon for anywhere between 30 seconds to a few minutes before displaying the menu. I ran speedtest.net and the results were: 3.08 Down/0.13 Up (Mbps) 0.13Mbps = 16kbps upload. So I am not experiencing miracles with opening files. A 120kb file can take anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds. Sometimes transfering/opening files happens as expected other times its slow but the real issue is with the right click as mentioned. Anyone have any ideas? Using PPTP Clients are all windows 7 pro

I want to take backup of website in mount folder automatically at certain intervals for e.g. every hour. I read that there is something called "rsync" which is used to make two folders sync. And it doesn't copy all files every time and instead matches if the file has been changed and then only update changed files. How do I use it to make automatic backups? I have root access to server. • Roaming profile location not updating

  We have roaming profiles enabled for some users. We want to move some of them over to a new network share. We have copied the files to the location (using Windows backup so that permissions are retained) and we've changed the location in active directory (see screenshot 1). When the user logs in to windows 8 their documents folders still points to the old server (server names removed from the picture but you can see the path is different). The user has logged off and logged back on, and has also run GP update (followed by a shutdown/restart) What do I need to do to make Windows 8 recognise the change?

  My team has a need to publish documentation internally. At the moment, it's spread all over the place and this means we often have to search everywhere to find something. We'd like to publish everything in one place. The main thing that stops us is access control - the wikis in place don't belong to us and we can't do it. What is the best tool for publishing docs, ideally fitting these requirements: web front end - readers access docs using browser single place to put docs access control by individual doc or by sets of docs (folders, branch of 'site', ...) if you don't have access to a doc, you don't see the link to that page/doc/folder. either built-in editor or something my users are familiar with (e.g. Word) built-in version control would be nice Also, can you think of other criteria I should've specified?

  I am trying to get all users of particular notebooks to make the users h drive offline. i know you can do it manually but is there a way to set this value somewhere so that users dont have to do it themselves? I am running 2008r2 domain controllers and windows 7 clients. I have folder redirection enabled but i want to make the users h: available to them when they are offline. I know the group policies are located in the computer configurationPoliciesadministrative templatesNetwork but there doesnt seem to be any place to select which folders/drives will be offline files without a users input. • Cannot access an application folder in Program files

  I recently installed Windows 7 Professional 64bit on a new machine. I installed an application using a ClickOnce installer. The application runs fine, but I cannot access the application folder it created in c:\Program files (x86). It bombs with access denied. I try to view the properties on the folder and it takes about 1 minute to display (other folders take 1 second). It says I cannot view any information because I'm not the owner. It doesn't say who the current owner is (instead - Unable to display current owner.) but says I can take ownership. When I try it fails again with Access Denied, even though I have administrative permissions. Why can't I access this folder nor take ownership?

• Media Player Classic creating folder

  Whenever I open a file in Media Player Classic it creates a new folder "Media Player Classic" under the folder of the file I opened. Originally it was putting a playlist in that folder, "default.mpcpl", but I found that if you open the playlist (Ctrl+7) and right-click the playlist, there is an option "Remember items", unchecking that will prevent MPC from creating this playlist. I was hopeful that without the auto-generated playlist MPC would have no reason to create the folder. Wrong. Now the folder is empty, but I still have to follow MPC around deleting all these blank folders. I use Media Player Classic on several of my computers so I think I just screwed up some variable somewhere somehow regarding where it stores playlists or something, but I can't figure out what it is, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to little avail. Which makes me think it might be in the registry. Does anyone have any ideas?

• I'm looking for an online ASP.NET tutor.

  $15/hr. I know it's not much but... Hi. I'm looking for an ASP.NET tutor. I want to use a remote desktop application so we can see each others screens and use Skype or phone to communicate with. You won't need to come up with any lessons or anything like that. I was thinking we could spend an hour or two each time we logged in to build a decent sized website from scratch. That's basically it. I'm a beginner with about 2 months experience with ASP.NET so we won't have to start from the very beginning, but pretty close. I wanted this site to have a little complexity to it and not just a website for beginners, but something I could study for a while. I'll pay you through PayPal or some other method if you prefer. By the way, it doesn't have to be a website that we work on together. I'll listen to other suggestions too. Maybe we could use an open source site/app to walk-through and study and modify. I've looked at 'My Web Pages Starter Kit 1.30', 'SubText 2.1.2', 'nopCommerce 1.5', and some others. They were all beyond me, and I couldn't make sense of any of the source code. But if you use and are really familiar with an open source app/site that I can download, we could study that. Here are some technical specs about the site I'd like to build/study: ASP.NET 2.0+ (preferably 3.5+, but I don't really care) C# / VB.NET ( don't really care, I suck at both. This is more about ASP.NET and helping me understand the structure of an ASP.NET website and the .NET framework in general. ) SQL Server ( I have SQL Server 2008 express and would someday like to learn how to use this thing. ) JavaScript / AJAX ( at least some use of this ) XML ( basically, I'd like to spend some time in the web.config file, and have some sense of what's going on in there. ) ASP.NET Folders ( I'd like to work with all of the ASP.NET folders if possible: App_Code, App_GlobalResources, etc.. and understand what does/doesn't go in them. Hopefully we can build more than one theme too. ) Assemblies ( how do you create a .dll and use it across different websites? maybe you could suggest a third party .dll that we could use ) Web Service ( I read about this once but didn't really get it ) I can't think of anything else but the above will definitely keep me busy. Hopefully we could make use of a lot of the server controls too (the nav controls gave me a headache when I tried customizing them). Is someone willing to help? I'll pay through PayPal 15 bucks an hour. I live in the Dallas, Texas (US) area so we'd have to synchronize time zones and agree on a day(s)/time of the week. • Is it safe to delete "Account Unknown" entries from Windows ACLs in a domain environment?

  It's not uncommon to see entries in Windows ACLs (NTFS files/folders, registry, AD objects, etc.) with the name "Account Unknown (SID)". Obviously these are because of old AD users or groups which at some point had permissions manually configured on the relevant object and have since been deleted. Does anyone know if it is safe to remove these "Account Unknown" ACEs? My gut feeling is that it should be just fine, but I'm wondering if anyone has any past experiences where doing this has caused trouble? Normally I just ignore these, but the company I'm working at now seems to have an abnormal number of these, most likely due to past admins' inexperience with AD/Windows and assigning permissions to user accounts rather than groups in all sorts of weird places. FWIW, our environment is not complex, a single domain forest, 4 DCs in 3 sites, with all network connectivity and replication healthy, so I'm certain that these "Account Unknown" entries are really old accounts, and not just because of some failure to resolve the SID to a human-readable name.

• Backup Source (non source control)?

  I back up my code with svn. I have project files in there however i ignore selected things. I also ignore jpg, ogg, etc. Right now i would like to backup everything. However the zip result is 1gb (i have a lot of code). I know i can cut down the filesize by 60%+ Is there an app i can use which will backup everything except the bin and obj folders? perhaps keep ogg, json, jpg files but ignore .svn or .pdb files?

• Computer froze up

  Why would my computer freeze up out of the blue? I have Apache Webserver w/php, and MySQL server installed. I am not sure exactly when it happened, but I was doing something on a wordpress site that I have installed, and it just waited and waited and waited. Then, all the folders on it that were open on my other computer closed, as though I had disconnected it. Then the skype account went offline. The computer was totally froze. I thought maybe it was someone on logmein, but disconnecting it from the network didn't do anything. I had to "crash" it (held in the power button till it shutdown). It started up normally then and the logs showed absolutely nothing wrong. And doing the same thing that I did when it froze didn't repeat the freeze. Any ideas, I never had this happen before.

• How can I rebuild the index in Thunderbird 3.0?

  Hello, I have just deleted a lot of old messages (about 3,000) from my Thunderbird 3.0 profile. When I now use the new search feature (search all messages), TB still finds the deleted ones. I deleted them this way: I moved the messages to an own "archive" folder (not the built-in archive feature). Then I stopped TB and moved the archive files and folders to a different place on my file system. Then restarted TB. I archive my messages this way for years now. So, it seems that Thunderbird does not notice the deletion of my messages, thus the index is not updated. How can I tell TB to instantly rebuild the index?

• Mod_rewrite not working on ISPConfig 3 Server

  Problem I recently migrated a Drupal site from a shared hosting server to my own VM. Everything appears to work correctly, except clean urls. My VM Setup Ubuntu 10.04 LAMP ISPConfig 3 What I've tried From reading up on a number of drupal forums I've tried the following in this order Check that mod_rewrite is installed and enabled Changed PHP from FastCGI to Mod_PHP (prefer to use FastCGI or suPHP though to avoid having tmp/files folders with 777 permissions) Changed the Redirect type to L in ISPConfig Sites-domain.com-Redirect Changed /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default <Directory /var/www/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride All ... </Directory> Not sure about points 3 and 4, I do want all domains to be able to use mod_rewrite out of the box. Question Have I done something wrong or am I missing a step? Ultimately I would like to use FastCGI and clean urls working on all ISPConfig 3 domains without having to make any changes to individual domain settings. Any ideas appreciated, I'll try them all.

I'd like to rename my folder. How can I do that? This happens regularly, and at random, particularly in my music folder. I'd like to know the cause and fix that. • How do I mklink junction + move content from C:\Program Files to D:\Program Files?

  I have a few applications that absolutely refuse to install into anything but C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86). Changing the registry keys for default install folders doesn't seem to provide any satisfaction and so now I'm wondering about throwing a NTFS junction in there to force these pesky applications to cooperate. There are files currently in use within Windows so it's quite likely I am not going to be able to do this within the active OS. Is there some bootable Windows 7 system tools that would allow me to make this happen? Seems I will need the ability to copy files (with permissions!) from one drive to another, as well as make the junction for Windows.
