• How can I set my deployment options to script the incremental release of a Visual Studio 2010 databa

  I've just started using a VS2010 database project to manage the release of an update to an existing database. I want the deployment option to generate a script that will contain the commands to change my existing database rather than create an entirely new one. E.g I have 10 existing tables - one of which I drop in the new version and I create some new sprocs. I only want the deploy to script the Drop table and Create Procedure commands. I am using VS2010 Premium. Thanks!

• SQL Temp Tables & Replication

  I have had an issue with our replication process and would like to salvage some data. I have a process in place where I will connect to each subscriber before flagging them for reinitialization and I will run the below to pull any data they may have entered in during the "dark time". I am pretty sure this will work in a vanilla palace. What I am unsure of is whether the Global Temporary Table will persist through DB Replication. To be clear, I am not trying to Replicate the TempTable, I just want to make sure it will still exist at the local DB after the Replication so I may run the INSERT from it. Thoughts? • Grabbing Data From Controls In Code Behind

  Hopefully this is a pretty simple question for someone to answer. I have a drop down list control that I need to pull the value from in the code behind of the page, modify it and redisplay it. The modifying and redisplaying I've got no problem with, it's grabing the value from the drop down control. Examples in C# would be appreciated as this web app I've been handed is already coded that way. I'm pretty new to .Net so be gentle and I already did some searching via Google and a little bit on the site here, but couldn't find anything that stood out as being the direction to go in to do this.

But when I want to add some properties and values, it doesn't work properly: public native void trackComplexEvent(String eventName, String property, String value)/*-{ $wnd.mixpanel.track(eventName, {property:value}); }-*/; I have 2 problems with this: 1) Mixpanel says the property name is: "property"(yes, the name of the variable that I'm passing, not the value). 2) Mixpanel says the value is:undefined An example from mixpanel web is: mixpanel.track("Video Play", {"age": 13, "gender": "male"}); So, I guess the problem is I'm doing a wrong call or with wrong type of arguments.

  Hi, I'm trying to understand how Eval() works for a specific purpose. I'm working on a project I don't really know and I need to read some data and put them in drop down list. These data are already read and are displayed inside an ItemTemplate. I noticed there are read using the Eval() method. Something like: <ItemTemplate> <a href="...=<%# Eval("foo") %>></a> </ItemTemplate> I need to know where Eval is getting these data from in order to discover where I should read them for my drop down list! But I didn't really understand how it works! I know that Eval() evaluates data binding expressions at runtime but where do you think I should take a look at? Thank you

• Read from file in eclipse

  I'm trying to read from a text file to input data to my java program. However, eclipse continuosly gives me a Source not found error no matter where I put the file. I've made an additional sources folder in the project directory, the file in question is in both it and the bin file for the project and it still can't find it. I even put a copy of it on my desktop and tried pointing eclipse there when it asked me to browse for the source lookup path. No matter what I do it can't find the file. here's my code in case it's pertinent: System.out.println(System.getProperty("user.dir")); File file = new File("file.txt"); Scanner scanner = new Scanner(file); in addition, it says the user directory is the project directory and there is a copy there too. • Where can I find a control similar to the Firefox Rich List Box for use in my application?

  I'm trying to implement a control similar to Firefox's Rich List Box: However, I can only find the XUL implementation of this control, and I don't want to have to include a XUL processing engine in my application just to get a cool looking listbox. I've been trying to implement one on my own by customizing MFC's CListBox control, but am starting to realize it may take more time than I had intended. Before continuing to implement this control from scratch, I was wondering if anyone knew of a similar control that already exists, either commercial or open source. The main functionality I would like to have is: Small display for non selected items that expands when selected. Ability to add arbitrary controls to the expanded view. Preferably native code, but can probably use managed controls via native/managed interop with out too much extra work. Any help would be appreciated, I don't want to have to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to.

  I'm having some issues with jqueryui tabs and linking to certain tabs on another page. Basically, each page has tabs, and all are navigational via drop down at the top, with each 'tab' being available in the drop down. Currently I'm able to text-link, but only within the page I'm on, and I'm just lost on the getting it to work correctly from page to page.   My goal is to store a NTFS Security Descriptor in its identical native state. The purpose is to restore it on-demand. I managed to write the code for that purpose, I was wondering if anybody mind to validate a sample of it? • Do you use another language instead of english ?

  Duplicate Should identifiers and comments be always in English or in the native language of the application and developers? For people who are not native English speakers, which language do you use to declare variables, classes, etc. ? I had to continue a project from a Spanish guy. Everything was written in Spanish. Since this time, I have decided to use English identifiers ( variables, classes, file names) and write comments in french. Everything was in french before that. What are the general recommendations about that practice? Do you use English everywhere knowing that no English people will work on your project ? • g:countrySelect with full country name as value

  I want to store the exact country name using g:countrySelect. Example Germany instead of DEU. It is the value in the drop down menu. The drop down text is Germany but when it saves it to the database it changes back to the country code. Sorry if I am somewhat naive but I have been searching for almost 3 hours for solutions and it isn't well documented at the grails website. I could opt for any alternative even ajax. Just to have an easy way to display a list of countries and will be able to store the REAL NAME of the country NOT country code. Thank you!

  I've seen a few questions like this, but mine is a bit more specific so I hope this isn't considered a repost. I am working on a website that is built with struts 2 and hibernate. I need to dynamically populate a drop down menu using data from a sql query based on an option selected in another drop down menu. So basically when the first option is selected I need to rehit the server and get the results from a query like SELECT column FROM table WHERE option = dropDownOption On top of that, I would really like to use ajax to only refresh the affected elements, however I'm really unfamiliar with ajax. I have jquery on this project and I found they have some ajax built in, but is this a good method for using it? any advice on this topic would be appreciated.

• How do I write a Photoshop Extension (8BX) plugin?

  The Adobe Photoshop CS3/4 SDk has a lot of examples for Filter, Import, Export etc plugins but I havent found anything that illustrates how to write a 8BX plugin. Reason I need to write one is to add a new drop down menu to the Photoshop root toolbar (where it displays File, Edit, Image .. Window. Help drop down menus). I have seen product like OneSoftware install an 8BX plugin into Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-Ins\Extensions directory that causes PS to add adrop down menu for OneSoft. That suggest this is a solvable problem :-) I tried by changing an existing plugin in the SDlK samples but no go. Specifically i modified the resource file: resource 'PiPL' (ResourceID, plugInName " PiPL", purgeable) { { Kind { **Extension** }, Name { plugInName "..." }, ... Despite using the Extension Kind , PS never loads the plugin. It doesnt generate any compile time or load error either. Anyone has ideas on how to go about doing this ? Thanks

  I'm using sql server management studio 2008 to try and generate an alter script for each of my stored procedures in order to save the scripts for each revision. I can easily generate an alter script for each individual procedure, but I'm not trying to go through a hundred stored procedures manually. I know that SSMS has an automated generate scripts function under task, but the only options are create, drop and create, and drop. I cant seem to figure out how to enable alter. I've already searched through many SO articles, as well as a little digging in msdn, and I've come up with nothing. I'm hoping that the fine people of stackoverflow will be up to the challenge.   I have a jpg image in my app that shows correctly. In my listview i'd like to make the image more transparent so it is easier to see the text. I changed the image to a png format and altered it's opacity in GIMP. Now that the new image is in the app drawable folder. • How do I fix JavaHL (JNI) Not available after I have changed the logon password on my Mac?

  I have installed Eclipse 3.5.2 and the plugin Subversion JavaHL Native Library Adapter 1.6.9.2 and this worked without any problems. However, this morning I was forced to change the password to logon to my Mac and since then I get the message that "Subversion native library not available" when I try to save any changes. Can anyone help? I have tried to add this line (-Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni) to the eclipse.ini file but this didn´t seem to make any difference. Can anyone help?

  Hello, we have a problem with our applications. We have recently upgraded our toolchain to Visual Studio 2010 and friends, it all works fine on Windows Vista + Windows 7 developer machines and Windows 7 customer machines. (all x86) Today we did a first installation to a client PC running Windows XP SP3 x86, and all applications linking managed code dll do not work. After starting the .exe seemingly nothing happens, no window pops up, no memory gets eaten, no task shows in task manager, nothing, nada. Event log is empty, everything is just as if the application returned to the OS right after the start. I am at loss about this, I really don't know how should I start even debugging this problem. I don't want to install VS2010 and everything onto a Windows XP box, I'd like to try something less time intensive first. This all is happening just to native C++ apps that link managed c++ DLL. Pure managed C# apps do work. Pure native C++ apps do work.
