• Virtualbox two networks slow

  I am running an Ubuntu server guest on Win 7 guest, and am running a webrick server (RoR dev). If I have just a host-only network, everything works fine and the browser response is instant. However, if I add a second network (NAT), so that the server can connect to the internet (for various updates etc.), the host-to-guest access gets really slow. I can't use the bridge connection. I am using the port 3000 (RoR Webrick server) and connecting to the guest via internet browser on this port (eg http://192.168.56.102:3000). Any idea, what could be causing this? If I ping the IP from host console, I get < 0ms. Here are the settings (relevant info is in english; Povoleno vše is Everything is allowed):

• Why does RDP Licensing is licensing the same device multiple times? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Can you help me with my software licensing issue? I've got a Citrix XenApp 6.5 Farm running on Win 2008 R2 Servers. I purchased 300 Device RDP/Remote App Licenses for ~200 users. We went with Device licenses, because most of the end users use the same machines. After 1 month of operating, we started to run out of licenses. It turns out the licensing service is consuming multiple licenses for the same machine. I can revoke licenses, but there is a limit to how many I can do. Is this operating correctly? The only explanation I can come up with is that the Licensing service is giving a license to a device for every server it connects to in our Citrix farm.

• Unable to connect to Adobe Connect

  I am having troubles trying to connect my colleges Adobe Connect. I have done the test meeting connection and it will say "Unable to connect". I have tried connecting on 3 other computers and it works with flying colors. I am running Norton 360 on my computer and I also tried it on my other laptop thats also running Norton 360 and it works on that laptop. I also checked my hosts file and that is not the problem because I am able to connect to the server (on port 80) but not the Adobe Connect port (port 1935). The only thing in it is "127.0.0.1 localhost" Here are the details from the log that the test created: Player Version: WIN 11,3,300,271 App-Server returned: code:ok, servers=rtmp://connect.bowvalleycollege.ca:1935/_rtmp://localhost:8506/,rtmpt://connect.bowvalleycollege.ca:443/_rtmp://localhost:8506/ ERROR: FMS Server did not return correctly!   I'm trying to configure my Mac Mini running CentOS 5.5 to start automatically when power is restored after a power loss. I understand the following command has to be executed: setpci -s 0:1f.0 0xa4.b=0 When I run that command on my machine though I get bash: setpci: command not found. Is there a package I need to install via yum or something? I'm not seeing a clear answer via Google and I looked at the man page for setpci and it doesn't mention anything. Also, does this command need to be run every time the machine starts or just once?

• mac osX file recovery

  I thought that all operating systems would merge folder content when being moved to the same location. Imagine my surprise when that didn't happen and I have hundreds, if not thousands of files that have gone missing and are nowhere to be found. Because they were not "deleted" they are not in the trash bin. I've tried to do some recovery using a program called stellarPheonix but after about a 24hour scan, it didn't recognize any of the raw files (.dng,.arw) as image files and so I couldn't see if they could be recovered. It also didn't show the directory structure, which would be handy. I tried a quick scan, but all it showed was files that were still on the HD, not sure what the point of that is. I've used recover 2000 on Win and it does a good job, does anyone know of anything that works quickly and reliably for this kind of file recovery. (I don't think I should have to do a sector-by=sector for this kind of file loss)

• Multiple VLANs, multiple subnets, single DHCP server?

  Hey guys! At my job we are prepping to transition from multiple LANs connected over slow VPN connections to a single MAN connected over fiber, and I've got a few questions. First of all, we are planning on making each physical site its own VLAN, but we would like to have a single DHCP server at the data center hand out IPs to each VLAN. We've pretty much got the VLAN tagging structure all worked out, but we would like to have our single DHCP server assign different subnets of IPs to each VLAN. For instance, VLAN 2 gets 10.0.2.x through 10.0.4.x, VLAN 3 gets 10.0.5.x through 10.0.7.x etc. We are an Active Directory based shop and we have a Server 2003 box handling DHCP (though we aren't averse to upgrading it to server 2008.) Is this feasible, or am I pipe-dreaming?

I want to use the virutal environment to practice removing malware....in other words, I want to infect it on purpose. What is the safest way to do this so that win 7 doesn't get infected as well? Error Code 800706B3 This error appears before I can even attempt to connect to an SSRS instance. In addition to this problem, I'm not able to connect to my SSRS instance via SSMS on my desktop. • VSFTPD and Implicit SSL

  Hi Everyone, I have a Debian Dedicated server and I want to enable Implicit SSL on it using VSFTPD and I am having a hard time. I have read online and the only thing I can really find is how to enable SSL and in the man pages it lists one implicit ssl command. but since Implicit ssl uses a second listener (990 by default) I have no idea how to make it work on Debian. Has anyone managed to get this working? • win7 amd64 guest in kvm does not have sound

  hi, my host system is gentoo amd64, guest system is win 7 amd64. the guest system can work, except it does not have sound. i start kvm with -soundhw ac97, QEMU_AUDIO_DRV='alsa', and after i get into the guest system, i can see a 'Multimedia Audio Controller' in the device manager. but win7 cannot find the driver for it. i searched the network for a long time, and i cannot find a driver for intel ac97 for win7 amd64. i also tried -soundhw sb16, es1370, none of them work. please help me fix this.

• Acer Aspire 1360 Recovery CDs

  I have replaced a dead hard disk in an out of warranty Acer Apire 1360 laptop. The two recovery CDs I have dont appear to be bootable, they just contain .hdd and .ghs (image?) files. On the original broken hard drive there was a hidden partition which could be invoked by pressing alt+f10 when booting. You would then be prompted for the 2 recovery CDs to perform the restore. Obviously the new hard drive does not contain the hidden Acer recovery partition. This being the case, how do I go about restoring Win XP? The 2 CDs are called Aspire 1360/1520 Serires Recovery CD Disk 1 of 2 and 2 of 2. Am I missing a futher bootable recovery CD? Can anyone confirm how many restore CDs originally came with the laptop.

  I'm having a lot of problems with flash player in my win 7 X64 laptop, in YouTube the videos are completely black, you can only hear the sound and in Vimeo the videos are played well in normal size but completely black in fullscreen. Also some days ago YouTube played normal size videos but with controls not visible. I'm sure that the problem isn't the browser since this happen in Chrome, Firefox and IE 8. My laptop is a Dell XPS L501X, the flash version is 10,2,152,26 and the OS is Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1. I'll appreciate any help.

• How do I set "MaxPermSize" for Atlassian Fisheye/Crucible running as service on Win2k3?

  I have been trying to setup Atlassian Fisheye/Crucible as a service on Win 2K3 R2 for two weeks. I keep getting various "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space" errors, which crash Fisheye and force me to restart the service. I've followed the example on the Atlassian support site to configure MaxPermSize within the service wrapper. However, when I check SysInfo inside the Fisheye Admin pages and the debug log, I don't see any confirmation. The Java Heap info is in both places, so I'd expect the MaxPermSize setting to show up in both places. The error is persisting and Atlassian support has been little help. I appreciate any help.

• How do I view the job queue in lftp after it has moved to a background process?

  I've just started using lftp for remote transferring files on my Raspberry Pi running Debian. I know how to transfer the files, and use queue and jobs to add and view transferring files. However, I'm not actually sure on how to view these transfers once lftp moves to the background. The lftp man page mentions how lftp is moving to the background, but when I open a new instance of the program from shell and type jobs, the queue is empty. However, I can clearly see using my file manager that the transfers are still happening, as the files are there and growing in size. I'm guessing that when I reopen lftp, it's just opening a new instance that isn't connected to the nohup mode lftp that has the active queue. I've tried searching various places, but no one else seems to have this particular issue. So, I guess what I'm asking is twofold: Is there a way to easily attach to the background lftp process to view the current jobs list? If not, is there a way to view this at all?

  I have a Windows XP machine acting as internet gateway. It is connected to two different networks, one, say LAN1, connects to internet and other, say LAN2, to outside LAN. My machine is sitting behind the gateway. I have set up internet connection sharing on LAN1 and can access internet on my machine but i can't access anything from LAN2.   I have a host machine (win server 2008 R2) with several Hyper-V virtual machines. I want to be able to redirect certain ports of host to virtual machines. There is virtual network connection between host and virtual machines (192.168.10.xxx). Host is also attached to external network (10.10.10.123). Virtual machines have several other networks between them. E.g., I want to be able to redirect traffic from 10.10.10.123 12345 to 192.168.10.321 54321 I tried RRAS in windows server but for it to work Default gateway to 10.10.10.123 has to be set in virtual machines. Virtual machines can not be on external network.

• How do you enable syslogd to accept incoming connections on Snow Leopard from remote loggers?

  How do I get syslogd to accept incoming connections from remote hosts on Snow Leopard? I'd like to centralize logging such that various devices and systems send logs to Snow Leopard's syslogd, which normally hangs out on UDP 514. However, I'm unable to get them to successfully be accepted by good ole syslogd. I tcpdumped on the Snow Leopard box to verify that packets are being spouted to port 514 -- they are. I checked that syslogd is listening on 514 -- it's not. Googling around told me that, on older versions of OSX (don't you love the way things change so rapidly on OSX), one just had to add a flag to the syslogd daemon to allow remote; one did this in com.apple.syslogd.plist. However the syslogd daemon has no flags (at least in its man page) that suggests any remote anything. What's the solution to this? Secondary, less import but relevant question: What's 'newsyslog'? I see a plist file but it's not running (apparently). Thanks

But not for the above combination. I just don't why this problem started a couple days ago. I removed sql server and added it again, but no good result.   At the moment, I'm using Dropbox on my computer and Dropsync on my Android phone (over WiFi) to one-way sync the files (such as photos/app backups) on my phone to the Dropbox servers which are then synced to my computer. I like the features of Dropsync which can be set to sync only when the phone is charging and the WiFi is on. So everytime I charge my phone, i know my files are being backed up. Now I'm wondering if there's a similar app/program combo or something that can do what I'm currently doing but remove the middle-man (Dropbox servers)?

  I am new for torque and maui. I was checking for node state to looking for which nodes are free and which nodes are in use. For torque one command is pbsnodes. Which gives status and other info related to node. When I was checking for maui then I found command diagnose -n which also shows status of the node. I was wondering between these 2 status. Both are giving different status for the same situation. When I do man pbsnodes I got the possible states for node "free", "offline", "down", "reserve", "job-exclusive", "job-sharing", "busy", "time-shared", or "state-unknown" But this type of different state I cant find for diagnose -n. How pbsnodes and diagnose -n get the status for node. Is there any database like xCAT use for torque or maui? Thx in advance for your valuable time.
