• WPF DataGrid button style

  If I have a DataGrid in a XAML form, and add the following style: <Style TargetType="Button"> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="2"/> </Style> The data grid locks up the application. I found if I put the style into a resource block that isn't seen by any data grid, then it seems to be happy. However, if I want to have the style above applied to all buttons on my window, I have to put it in various resource blocks that cannot be seen by the data grid. Is there any way to avoid this?

• How to use two templates for ListViewItem using WPF

  Hi, I would like to have a ListView that would have have items similar to Microsoft Outlook inbox with items arranged by Conversations (see the attached photo). An item can either be a simple textblock containing the topic of the conversation (on the photo this are the blue lines) or it can contain email information specified by the ListView's header. It would be best if the items with conversation topics would be push buttons so that emails inside that conversation could be shown or hidden by pressing this button. Any ideas how can I achieve this? Do I specify two ListViewItem templates? If yes, how do I tell in the code which template to use for each item? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!! • Setting AcceptButton to None still closes the form on ENTER.

  I have a MDI windows forms application and my child forms mostly have "OK" and "Cancel" buttons. However I do not want them to be activated with ENTER/ESC keys to prevent accidental saves/aborts. So, the form has both AcceptButton and CancelButton set to none. The ESC button indeed does nothing, but the ENTER button still closes the form by "clicking" on the first button found, sorted by TabOrder. Why is this so? Must I really start doing workarounds and catching the ENTER key?

• Search database with textbox/button, display record in detailsview and update fields

  Hello, I am trying to do all on one page. There are 3 textboxes and 3 buttons, one sqldatasource and one detailsview. Sqidatasource is configured to take parameters from textboxes and ingnore blank textboxes to be able to search by one (any) field at the time. When I do "test query" in sqldatasource - everything is working. Deatailsview is set to have sqldatasoure as datasourse. On each button I do detailsview.databind() but nothing is showing up. Need help, thank you.

• jquery validation of controls

  Hi , I am looking at validation of some text boxes for somethings like required, minlength, max length, email etc... I am able to get examples that work fine on submit button on page. I want to do this validation on a button click which will only raise a ajax request and not submit of page. On internet all the sample is found was with submit button. Is there a easy way to change this code a little bit o make it work for non submit button click or any new jquery or java plugin to do the same. I am using the jquery.validation.js for now. This works with submit buttons. Any kind of help with suggestion or help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  I have a jquery content slider on a site I'm developing. I am having a strange problem that seems to be across all browsers and that is the slider slides the wrong distance if the page is refreshed via the refresh button. To re-create the problem please follow these steps - click this link http://www.aus-media.com/dev/site_BYS/index.html then click on the 'About Bikram Yoga' menu item at the bottom. Click on the 'more' and 'back' tabs on this page and you will notice it works fine. Then refresh the page by clicking the refresh button and try the more and back buttons again. • using Swing components in javafx if they're not in the NetBeans javafx palette

  I'm just getting started with javafx in NetBeans, and I have it doing simple stuff (windows with buttons + the like) but would like to try something slightly more realistic. The "Swing/AWT Components" palette has a whole bunch of stuff that the "JavaFX Script Code Clips" palette does not (it has Button, CheckBox, ComboBox, ComboBoxItem, Label, RadioButton, Slider, TextField, and ToggleButton). How do I add stuff to this palette? I would like to try using some of the components in org-netbeans-swing-outline.jar edit: Aha. I was missing the point somewhat: there are only some javafx-wrapped Swing components available in javafx.ext.Swing.*, so if you want one of the other Swing components you have to wrap them yourself.

  So. Let's say I were to make a hex editor to edit... oh... let's say a .DLL file. How can I edit a .DLL file's hex by using C# or C++? And for the "fixed part", I want to make it so that I can browse from the program for a specific .DLL, have some pre-coded buttons on the programmed file, and when the button is pressed, it will automatically execute the requested action, meaning the button has been pre-coded to know what to look for in the .DLL and what to change it to.   i've a webview in my app. It has + and - buttons to increase and decrease the font. When I start the view, the text occupies whole 320 pixels width. I'm following the way mentioned in "http://stackoverflow.com/questions/589177/how-to-increase-font-size-in-uiwebview" I'm seeing the increase and decrease of font. But once the font size increases, text is not occupying full view. It won't occupy whole 320 pixels width. As and when text size increases, the width of final text in web view decreases slowly. Why? How to avoid it?

  I want to create a scrollview with a zooming control and a button next to the scrollbar. Sort of like the "tile window" button in XCode (top right corner of the editor), it should be in the same box that usually is used by the scrollbar only. Do you have an idea of how to approach this? I was thinking to use an NSScrollView and set the scrollbars to a custom subclass of NSScroller which includes the other widgets. What kinds of buttons use the same style as the scrollbar?

• Actionscript 3: foreach drawing object in movieclip

  Hey, I got a europe map designed in flash (1 movieclip, 1 frame, really simple), which contains the map as drawing objects directly inside the scene and in addition some specific countries as clickable buttons. So far it's working fine. What I need now is to make all the other drawing objects clickable without having to edit and script each object. I'm thinking about something like this (pseudo code): foreach(obj in MovieClip) { if(obj !typeof(Button)) { obj.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, genericClickListener); } } I just don't know the syntax how to achieve that. • Paypal subscription API - transaction variables not POSTed

  I am writing a payments system based around paypal, I am using the HTML 'API'. I am passing the following form fields to PayPal: 'rm' = 2 'return = http://www.example.com/payment-handler.php?token=sometoken Where 'token' is a token I generated. According to the paypal documentation, a return method (rm) of 2 indicates to Paypal that the transaction data be posted back to the callback url using the POST method. When processing items using 'buy_now' buttons, the transaction items are correctly POSTed to my callback url (payment-handler.php), but for 'subscribe' operations, although the callback url is called, no POST data is sent to the url, and also, the 'token' field is missing. Instead, there is a parameter called 'auth'. I cant see anything in the paypal docs about a 'auth' field - so I dont know whats generating it and if I can reliably using it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

• Age verification forms and crawlers

  I have created a website about some beer brand and had to include age verification page. The verification script is written in PHP and uses sessions to store verification variable. The script works the way that no matter form which link you will try to enter the website it will take you to the verification page first. The verification is very simple. There are 2 button: "I'm under 21" and "I'm over 21". If you click the latter, you can browse the website. After some time I discovered that the web crawlers are not able to get past verification page. I checked the website in Google webmaster tools and the only text content scanned was from the verification page. I read somewhere that crawlers are not able to submit form buttons, is it true? Considering the fact that age verification pages are useless anyways, maybe I should just leave it as a starting page but don't forbid going around it, e.g. from links to the subpages?

  Hello, Can someone help me with this I am trying to set and catch the url variable It begins with a form wich has the standard action set to "/autorisation/logout" Then a button with an inline javascript function function tbPayout() { parent.location = "/autorisation/logout?rcgo=payout"; return true; } <input src="/images/go02.gif" type=image border=0 name="go1" onClick="return tbPayout();"> In the autorisation controller I try to catch it if ( isset($_GET['rcgo']) ) { but it doesn't work and I can't see the variable in the url and therefore the default forms action is performed? I also have another redirect page with content="3; url=http://www.domain.nl/index/index?rcgo=logout" /> and that works fine How can I get the javascript to work because I have three submit buttons that need to be set to different get variables. • iPhone - Bug using CADisplayLink and UIControls - bad to mix openGL and UIControls?

  Having had problems using other methods, I've decided to stick with CADisplayLink to run my game loop. The animation is smooth now, but sometimes there's a problem where the buttons and other UI elements can't be used, can't be accessed by touch or changed programmatically. This includes UIButtons and UILabels. Has anyone encountered this before? Is it not a good idea in general to use interface builder and uicontrols on top of an OpenGL view? I've heard they don't play well together but haven't heard the reasons. Thanks!

• Custom draw button using uxtheme.dll

  I have implemented my custom button inheriting from CButton and drawing it by using uxtheme.dll (DrawThemeBackground with BP_PUSHBUTTON). Everything works fine but I have two statuses (Normal and Pressed) which Hot status is the same. It means when the user places the cursor over the button it is drawn alike regardless the button status (Pressed or not). This is a bit confusing to the user and I would like to change the way the button is drawn in Pressed & Hot status. Does anybody know a way? I have also thought about custumizing the whole drawing but the buttons use gradients, borders, shadows, etc. So it is not easy to achive the same look&feel drawing everything by myself. Is there a way to find the source code of the dll or know how to do it? Thanks in advance. Javier

  Hi, could you please help me with this one? I'm trying to capture Tab key in Windows Forms application and do a custom action on it. I have a Form with several listViews and buttons, I've set Form's KeyPreview property to true and when I press any other key than tab, my KeyDown event handler does get called. But that's not true with the Tab key - I don't receive WM_KEYDOWN message even in WndProc. Do I need to set each control inside my form - its TabStop property - to false? There must be a more ellegant way that that. Thanks.

  Hello there, is it possible to follow a link by it's class name instead of the id, text or title? Given I have (haha, cucumber insider he?) the following html code: <div id="some_information_container"> <a href="edit" class="edit_button">Translation here</a> </div> I do not want to match by text because I'd have to care about the translation values in my tests I want to have my buttons look all the same style, so I will use the CSS class. I don't want to assign a id to every single link, because some of them are perfectly identified through the container and the link class Is there anything I missed in Cucumber/Webrat? Or do you have some advices to solve this in a better way?
