• Refresh a jQuery function

  Is possible refresh a function every x seconds or refresh it on single event? I explain: I have a function that make pagination on my website, inside every div that are "pages" I have some pictures where I have added LightBox. Everything works nice on the first div (page) but when I change the page it doesnt' work anymore. I tried to fix in this way: $('.pagination a').click(function () { initShadow(); }); In this way it work on the pageLoad and on the first page that I change, than it stop again. So I need to fix this issue, everytime I change the "page" I would like it works fine. Is possible to refresh a function every x second or to refresh it everytime I click on the pagination buttons?

• How can I get to the value of my WPF UserControl DependencyProperty from UI Automation Framework?

  Hi, I'm having trouble getting access to my WPF UserControl DependencyProperty values through the UI Automation Framework. I've used James McCaffreys article in MSDN as a starting point (Automating IO Tests in WPF Applications, MSDN March 2009), but I can only see properties etc in standard controls such as buttons. I'm assuming there's some Automation interface I have to implement on my UserControl, but what and how? I can already see my control fine e.g. in UISpy, but I can't see the dependency properties within it. • click-event doesn't fire if blur changes layout

  I have a form with blur-events bound to the required fields. Then there is a "Cancel" Button which simply calls an URL (button is an image with click-event). When leaving one of the required fields a warning is written to the page saying that field xy is required. - this causes a layout shift, meaning all the fields and the buttons are moved down a little bit because of the text inserted above. The tricky thing is this: when the focus is in an empty but required field and you click the cancel button, the required-warning is written to the screen but the click-event on the cancel button doesn't fire. I think this is due to the layout shift. The mouse cursor doesn't hover over the button anymore, because the button scrolled down. Has anyone a good idea how i could solve this?

  I started by creating a universal window based app. Starting with the iPhone version I created a UIViewController and associated nib. My App delegate: rootViewController = [[RootViewController alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [window addSubview:rootViewController.view]; return YES; My RootViewController: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; adBannerView = [[ADBannerView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero]; [self.view addSubview:adBannerView]; } I've tried instanciating buttons instead of the adBanner and I get the same result. My RootViewController's nib has not been changed since x-code created it for me. My MainWindow_iPhone.xib also is stock. What's causing this?

  I have wpf datagrid with number of template columns. some of them have textbox in them in edit mode and some combobox. i need to give cut/copy/paste facility to user from main menu (ribbon) buttons of my application. when i select some text from textbox and press copy button from main menu. copy button becomes active control so i loose textbox as active control by which i could get selected text. (any solution for this) and second thing i wanted to ask... is there any event get fired when we select textbox's contents? or solution would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

• Cross Theaded Calls - Many controls Heavy GUI Application after .net 1.1 2.0 upgrade- best way ??

  I have recently upgraded a .net1.1 solution to .net2.0. AS this is a very heavy GUI appilcation with loads of controls and many multithreaded operations that update the GUI. While these operations worked seamlessly in .net1.1 it is throwing up Cross Threaded Illegal operations after the upgrade. Considering the fact that tehre are numerous grids, buttons and status labels that need to be updated via these multi threaded operations, I decided to code for checking the InvokeRequired solution, however doing that for every control would probably not be the best way to go about it. I was wondering if you could suggest a better way of how I can go about it or propose any OOPS based class structure that I could code around to make the code look better. Please do let me know if my question is unclear. Thanks in advance

  Hi, I'm trying to dynamically create buttons at runtime with PyQT4.7 However, this being my first python program I'm not sure how to get the functionality I want. I would like to be able to substitute a text string for an attribute name: i.e. for each in xrange(4): myname = "tab1_button%s" % each #tab1_button0, tab1_button1, tab1_button2 #self.ui.tab1_button0 = QtGui.QPushButton(self.ui.tab) <--normal code to create a named button setattr(self.ui,myname,QtGui.QPushButton(self.ui.tab)) #rewrite of line above to dynamicly generate a button #here's where I get stuck. this code isn't valid, but it shows what i want to do self.ui.gridLayout.addWidget(self.ui.%s) % myname #I need to have %s be tab1_button1, tab1_button2, etc. I know the % is for string substituion but how can I substitute the dynamically generated attribute name into that statement? • IE8 no honoring display:none

  I have the following markup on a page and unfortunately I do not have direct access to it. . This page is opened in an iframe. There is other code on the page but it is not relevant so I have not posted it. The only access to target the code in via css. I want to not display the close button so I added this to the css file img[alt='Close'] {display:none !important;} this is the markup <td align="center"><a href='javascript:window.close()'><img src='v/vspfiles/templates/100/images/buttons/btn_close.gif' alt='Close' border=0></a></td> It works as expected in all browsers that i have tested (firefox, Opera, Safari) but in IE8 it seems to ignore this css and shows the button. Not sure if it doesn't like the selector or perhaps I have a syntax error. Not sure where to go from here.

• How to use a CTabCtrl in a MFC dialog based application ?

  I need to do something which i expected to be was simple - create a tab control which has 2 tabs, implying 2 modes of operation for my app. When user clicks on Tab1, he'll be presented with some buttons and textboxes, and when he clicks Tab2, some other input method. I noticed that there was a CTabCtrl class thats used in MFC to add tabs. However, once I added the tab ctrl using the UI designer, I couldn't specify how many tabs there'll be using property window. Searching on the net, I found some examples but all of them required you to derive from CtabCtrl , create 2 or more child dialogs etc and to write your own custom class. My question is, since I want to do something so basic, why couldn't I do it using the familiar Add Event handler/Add member variable wizard and then handle everything else inside my app's class ? Surely, the default CTabCtrl class can do something useful without needing to derive from it ?

• Basic question about request queues in IIS / ASP.Net

  I have an ASP.Net application running under IIS 6. A simple page has two radio buttons and a submit button. If I select radio button "A" and submit the page, a lengthy PDF file is generated, which takes about a minute to build. If I select radio button "B", a small PDF is generated. (In both cases the PDF is written out to the Response object and it opens in my browser.) If I select radio button "A" and submit, then hit the red X in my browser to stop the current request, then select radio button "B" and resubmit, the page still takes a long time to process my request. No doubt my first request is still being processed on the server, but I was wondering how IIS and/or ASP.Net are queuing my requests so that fair server use is guaranteed among all users. Am I roughly correct in assuming something like this happens, and if so, how is it done?

  Hi, I am very much curious about Nike + iPod app look and feel. They have selected uitabbar buttons red in color The tableviewcell selection style as red in color. The disclosure indicator is also red in color. The solution in my mind for two of these is: I can use a red colored arrow image to use it as accessory view. I can flip between a red colored and white colored view with animation for having the selection style But I am clueless of how the tabbar thing is to be done. I am very curious to know the tricks behind this, I also accept that I may be wrong with my other two solutions. So please suggest the solution for any of the problems. • Accessing NHibernate Repository using ASP.NET Ajax WebMethod

  Hi there! on my page I have a save button that gets the values from the form and then saves it in the database using NHibernate. This works using ASP.net postback buttons. I have now added an Ajax WebMethod to make things sleek and quicker. Howver, when trying to access the data in the repository it doesn't seem to get it. I am passing in the correct values, and everything looks the same as when you are using the postback but no Joy! I should point out here that I'm a newbie with NHibernate and I'm working with someone elses code. Here's the code: the main problem is this line: Solution.Entities.Hierarchy.Tag tag = tagRep.Get(tagId); The tagID is fine, but when it does the get no exception is raised it just comes out the method and goes back to the page???? http://pastebin.com/cBTp9pnC Anyone have any ideas?   I have a UIScrollView. In there I add buttons programmatically. Right now I just use UIButton and set one title. But I need to have an UIImage View in there, that will change upon certain events, Text that will change too etc. and I would like to style that in Interface Builder, but I can't figure out how to do this. Which class should I extend, and what kind of xib should I create and what in there, so that in the end I can make the right connections and so that I can listen for UIControlEventTouchDown of that Button.

• Problems with .net and toolbar, menu & status bar rendermode (blue) and standard form (grey)

  Hiya, I'm a bit of a newbie to .NET so please ignore my ignorance. If you look at the above image (a complete prototype, ignore black bits :)) you will see lovely menus, toolbars & statusbars all using windows XP render mode and in a funky blue. Look at the form, labels, checkboxes and other buttons and you see horrible old school windows grey. These components don't have a render mode. My question: is there any way to show everything in XP style or do I have to chose new components? Thx. A.

  I'm trying to implement "more/less" functionality using the official jquery-tmpl plugin. I've looked at the examples, but I cannot seem to get the functionality to work in my own implementation. When I click on one of my "More" buttons, I seem to get an error thrown of: Uncaught TypeError: Property 'tmpl' of object #<an Object> is not a function This is my implementation here From what I can tell, the example I'm trying to replace is doing the following: Render the "Master" template On-click: Find the corresponding template object (tmplItem) to the clicked element. Pass in reference to a new template. Call the update function to re-render. Have I understood the documentation wrong? From what I can tell I'm doing the same thing as the example on the official documentation.

• Building a Monopoly Board with GridBagLayout

  I have been building a Java version of Monopoly in my spare time and am having some trouble understanding layouts etc for Swing. Each one of my spaces on the board is a essentially a custom JButton and I have been trying to lay them around the edge of a frame (like on the monopoly board itself). I can't seem to find a useful explanation of how the layout system works and so am having trouble do so. Could someone please give me an example of how they would lay the buttons around the edge of the frame? Should I be using a different layout?

• calling a method on the parent page from a user control

  I am using a user control that I created (just a .cs file not an .ascx file), that does some magic and depending on a value generated by the control, I need it to do something on the parent page that is 'hosting' the control. It needs to call a method under certain circumstances (method is on the parent control). the control is placed on the parent page like so: <customtag:MyControl ID="something" runat="server" /> I'm dynamically creating buttons etc on the control itself but when a button is clicked, let's say for example that there's a text box on the control and if the value of the textbox is "bob" it needs to call a method on the page that's housing the control...how can I accomplish this?

• jQuery.keypad Performance Issues

  I am working on a Kiosk Touch Screen application and using the JQuery.keypad plugin and noticing some major performance issues. If you click a number of buttons in rapid succession the CPU gets pegged, the button clicks don't keep up with the clicking and some button presses even get lost. On my dev machine this isn't as noticeable, but on the Kiosk itself with 1 gig of ram it's painful. Trying the demo keypad at http://keith-wood.name/keypad.html#inline the one with multiple targets (which is the case with mine) has the exact same issues. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we might be able to improve this? The Kiosk runs in Firefox only so something specific to that would work. I'm using v1.2.1 of jquery.keypad and just upgraded to v1.4.2 of jquery.
