• Python Django MySQLdb setup problem:: setup.py dosen't build due to incorrect location of mysql

  I'm trying to install MySQLdb for python. but when I run the setup, this is the error I get. well I know why its giving all the missing file statements, but dont know where to change the bold marked location from.   I am following This Tutorial on installing MGTwitterEngine on my MAC osx 10.6.2. I am stuck on this step: sudo port install cmake it gives me the following error: dlopen(/opt/local/share/macports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib, 10): no suitable image found. Is there some kind of software that would allow me to interpret this code to do some form of 'print preview'? I am considering developing a way to convert this into an image or even postscript pdf, but I am struggling with how to do the barcodes (the lines starting in B is for barcodes). The only two problems I see are: Potentially large call stack, since calculating Fibonacci<2 requires we go through TableMax all the way to 2, and: If the value is outside of the table, it returns zero as opposed to calculating it. So is there something I am missing? It seems there should be a better way to pick out these values at runtime. A template metaprogramming version of a switch statement perhaps, that generates a switch statement up to a certain number? Thanks in advance.

  I am currently working with an IPhone API which consist of about 40 pages of aspx along with their respective aspx.vb pages. They are all partial classes because the API continues to add other phone platforms to it. Currently I have them residing just in a folder. /API/0.1 and /API/1.0 ... How would I call the functions from those IPhone API classes without having to put them in the App_code? example: I have a partial class SetTextBroadcast with a function like this Function BroadcastMessage(ByVal Brodcast_recipient() As net.pmgateway.Recipient, ByVal str_Message As String) As net.pmgateway.Reply 'code here End Function How do i use that function in a webform? or do I need to put it in App_Code? something like this is what i'm looking for.   Hello I have a such model: Foo (models.Model): slug = models.SlugField(unique=True) image = models.ImageField(upload_to='uploads/') I want to do two things with this: First of all, I want my image to be forced to resize to a specific width and height after the upload. I have tried this reading the documentation but seems to getting error: image = models.ImageField(upload_to='uploads/', height_field=258, width_field=425) Secondly, when adding an item via admin panel, I want my image's file name to be renamed as same as slug, if any issue arises (like if such named image already exists, add "_" to the end as it used to do. IE: My slug is i-love-you-guys , uploaded image such have i-love-you-guys.png at the end.

• Help with Kohana 3 and a CRON

  I've set up a CRON to call a URL in Kohana 3. php /home/user/public_html/index.php my/route/in/bootstrap.php It seems to access the URL fine. However, I have received this error (send back in an email that my host sends per CRON) Undefined index: HTTP_HOST SYSPATH/classes/kohana/url.php [ 40 ] Source of url.php Which is in a Kohana system file. Is this because the CRON job is not sending HTTP headers? How would I fix this and get it to work (hopefully without hacking the core files). Or am I doing the CRON wrong?

• ASP.NET MVC2 Data Access Layer

  For a small/medium sized project I'm trying to figure out what is the 'ideal' way to have a domain layer and data access layer. My opinions on coupling tend to be more towards the view that the domain models should not be tightly coupled with the database layer, in other words the data access layer shouldn't actually know anything about the domain objects. I've been looking at Linq-to-sql and it wants to use its own models that it creates, and so it ends up VERY tightly coupled. Whilst I love the way you use linq-to-sql in code I really don't like the way it wants to make its own domain objects. What are some alternatives that I should consider? I tried use NHibernate but I did not like the way I had to use to query and get different objects. I honestly love the syntax and way you use linq, I just don't want it to be so tightly coupled to domain objects.

• Jquery autocomplete not firing on keyup unless focus changes

  I am using a jquery autocomplete and i have a keyup event for my textbox. When I enter in a letter the function is called but the box is not populated. Once I click away from the box and then click back into it the autocomplete works great. Really weird issue and I have no idea how to fix it.   I am using VS2008. I have a project connect with a database and the connection string is read from App.config via ConfigurationManager. We are using L2E. Now I added a helper project, AndeDataViewer, to have a simple UI to display data from the database for testing/verification purpose. I don't want to create another set of Entity Data Model in the helper project. I just added all related files as a link in the new helper project. When I compile, I got the following error: Error 15 The name 'ConfigurationManager' does not exist in the current context C:\workspace\SystemSoftware\SystemSoftware\src\systeminfo\RuntimeInfo.cs 24 40 AndeDataViewer I think I may need to add another project setting/config related file's link to the helper project from the main project? There is no App.config file in the new helper project. But it looks I cannot add that file's link to the helper project. Any ideas?

• Is it possible to Embed Gecko or Webkit in a Windows Form just like a WebView?

  Hi, I'd love to know if there is such thing as a Gecko.NET ;) I mean, just like we can embed a WebView and that is an "instance" of IE7 inside any Windows Forms application (and tell it to "navigateto (fancy_url);", I'd love to use FireFox or WebKit. Anybody tried this? UPDATE: Please bear in mind that although it is possible to embed gecko using the mentioned controls, it is still impossible to print while using gecko. UPDATE March 2010: It’s still not possible to print natively using GeckoFX, however a couple of methods exist that may be enough, depending upon what you’re trying to do.   I have a Scintilla control that I create in C#, and the syntax highlighting doesn't work. • Unicode issue in Django

  I seem to have a unicode problem with the deal_instance_name in the Deal model. It says: coercing to Unicode: need string or buffer, __proxy__ found The exception happens on this line: return smart_unicode(self.deal_type.deal_name) + _(u' - Set No.') + str(self.set) The line works if I remove smart_unicode(self.deal_type.deal_name) but why? Back then in Django 1.1 someone had the same problem on Stackoverflow I have tried both the unicode() as well as the new smart_unicode() without any joy. • MVC in a Google App Engine Java world

  I'm coming to Java from C# & ASP.NET MVC, I'd love to find an equivalent in the Java world that I could use on the Google App Engine. I've already started to have a play with FreeMarker and even made the first steps towards writing a very simple framework. Ideally I wouldn't have to do all the hard work though, someone must have done this already! So my question is - what frameworks are there out there that would be familiar for me coming from ASP.NET MVC and I could use them on Google App Engine for Java. The key things I'd want are: Simple Routing - /products/view/1 gets mapped to the view action of the products controller with the productid of 1 Template Engine - some way of easily passing 'ViewData' to the view, and from the view easily accessing it, ideally I'd love to avoid anything that is too XMLy (thus why I like FreeMarker).

• WinDbg fails to find symbol file reporting 'unrecognized OMF sig'

  I have received a 64bit dump of a 32bit app that was running on Win7 x64. I am able to load it in WinDbg (hint: !wow64exts.sw) running on a 64bit OS. The symbols for most of my dlls are loaded properly. The pdb for one though does not load. The same pdb does load properly for the same dll when reading a 32bit dump on a different system. I've also confirmed that the dll and pdb match each other via the chkmatch utility. I tried .symopt +40 but the pdb still didn't load. I did !sym noisy then .reload - WinDbg reported: DBGHELP: unrecognized OMF sig: 811f1121 *** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols Any ideas on what to try to get WinDbg to load my pdb when reading a 64bit dump?

• ColdFusion Server crash after thousands of HTTP requests

  We are running ColdFusion 8 on a windows server 2003 VPS with an API that exposes student records to a partner API through a connector. Our API returns around 50k student records serialized in XML format pretty seamlessly. My question originates when something very frightening happened today when we tested our connector to our partners API. Our entire website and web host went down. We assumed that our host was just having some issues and after 4 hours with no resolution and no response from their customer service we finally got a response from them claiming that they had an "unauthorized user" in their network. After our server was back up we were unable to connect to our website as if the web service or coldfusion itself had froze. This is really where my concern comes from as I fear we may have overloaded the web service. As I mentioned before we tried sending over 50k HTTP POST requests over to our partner's API, however everything stopped after around 1.6k Is this bad practice or is there some sort of rate limiting I can relax somewhere in server configuration? We managed to find a workaround, but it bypasses our connector which is critical to our design. This would have been a one time deal as the purpose of so many requests was to populate our partner's website with current data, after that hourly syncs will keep requests down to around 100 per hour. UPDATE Our partner API is owned and operated by Pardot. We are converting students to prospects by passing student data to their API which unfortunately only seems to accept one student at a time. For that reason we have to do all 50k requests individually. Our server has 4GB of RAM, an Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.8GHz running Windows Server 2003 SP2. I monitored the server during a 100 student sync, a 400 student sync, and a 1.4k student sync with the following results: 100 students - 2.25GB of Memory, 30-40% CPU utilization, 0.2-0.3% network bandwidth 400 students - 2.30GB of Memory, 30-50% CPU utilization, 0.2-1.0% network bandwidth 1.4k students - 2.30GB of Memory, 30-70% CPU utilization, 0.2-1.0% network bandwidth I know this is a far cry from 50k students, but I don't want to risk taking down our CMS system again assuming that was the cause.
