  • Embed .swf in webpage and make it fullscreen

    - by Farinha
Is there a way to embed a .swf file in a webpage and provide a way to make it fullscreen? I'm creating these files with Adobe Captivate, which doesn't seem to provide a way to publish in other usable formats (.avi files are too big, and no .flv is available, to which there seem to have some players around that allow fullscreen). If there's a way to convert .swf to some other "embedable" format, please let me know.

  • Amazon S3 and swfaddress

    - by justinbach
I recently migrated a large AS3 site (lots of swfs, lots of flvs) to Amazon S3. Pretty much everything but HTML and JS files is being stored/served from Amazon, and it's working well. The only problem I'm having is that I built the site using SWFaddress (actually, via the Gaia framework which uses SWFaddress), and for some reason, SWFaddress is no longer updating the address bar correctly as users navigate from page to page. In other words, the URL persistently remains http://www.mysite.com, not http://www.mysite.com/#/section as would be the case were SWFaddress functioning correctly (and as it was functioning prior to the migration). Stranger yet, if I go to (e.g.) http://www.mysite.com/#/section directly, the deeplinking functions as you'd expect--I arrive directly at the correct section. However, navigating away from that section doesn't have any effect on the address bar, despite the fact that it should be dynamically updated. I've got a crossdomain.xml file set up on the site that allows access from all domains, so that's not the issue, and I don't know what else might be. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! P.S. I integrated S3 by putting pretty much the entire site in an S3 bucket and then just changing the initial swfobject embed to point to the S3 instance of main.swf, passing in the S3 path as the "base" param to the embedded swf so that all dynamically loaded assets and swfs would also be sourced from s3. Dunno if that's related to the troubles I'm having.

  • Multiple MCs, Single Listener, AsBroadcaster

    - by Brett
I'm currently working trying to have multiple MCs inside a container MC which when they mini MCs are clicked will broadcast a message so that I can act upon them. This would be simple in AS 3 as it would be mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, obj); however, this is AS 2 and so I am semi-forced to use the broadcastMessage('myMessage'); and mc.addListener(obj); event handler. The main problem is that the broadcaster isn't broadcasting any messages. The second problem is that there are 5 MCs and when I click one of them, I get 5 trace messages about the click. I can't seem to keep the MC clicks unique even though they are all given separate instance names vie the properties panel. Any help would be appreciated. A link to my code is here (pastie.org #481511). Can you see anything wrong?

  • MXMLC and 64bit JRE

    - by sascha
Are there any workarounds to get the Flex compiler to work with a 64bit JRE? If I use an MXMLC task in an Ant buildfile in Eclipse it works fine but if I try to use MXMLC from the command line (or try the Run... command from FDT in Eclipse) it fails, telling me ... "Error loading: C:\Program Files\Java\jrrt-1.6.0\jre\bin\jrockit\jvm.dll" (this is with a 64bit JRockit runtime but that shouldn't matter).

  • Masking FLV video in AS3 with PNG alpha channel.

    - by James Roberts
Hey there, I'm trying to mask an FLV with a PNG alpha channel. I'm using BitmapData (from a PNG) but it's not working. Is there anything I'm missing? Cut up code below: var musclesLoader:Loader = new Loader(); var musclesContainer:Sprite = new Sprite(); var musclesImage:Bitmap = new Bitmap(); var musclesBitmapData:BitmapData; var musclesVideo:Video = new Video(752, 451.2); var connection:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); var stream:NetStream; function loadMuscles():void { musclesLoader.load(new URLRequest('img/muscles.png')); musclesLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, musclesComplete); } function musclesComplete():void { musclesBitmapData = new BitmapData(musclesLoader.content.width, musclesLoader.content.height, true, 0x000000); musclesImage.bitmapData = musclesBitmapData; musclesImage.smoothing = true; musclesContainer.addChild(musclesImage); contentContainer.addChild(musclesContainer); } function loadMusclesVideo():void { connection.connect(null); stream = new NetStream(connection); stream.client = this; musclesVideo.mask = musclesBitmapData; stage.addChild(musclesVideo); musclesVideo.attachNetStream(stream); stream.bufferTime = 1; stream.receiveAudio(true); stream.receiveVideo(true); stream.play("vid/muscles.flv"); } Outside this code I have a function that adds the containers to the stage, etc and places the objects in the appropriate spots. It sort of works - the mask applies, but in a square (the size of the boundaries of musclesBitmapData) rather than with the shape of the alpha channel. Is this the right way to go about this?

  • as3 - controlling flicker when scaling up a button or movieclip

    - by sol
    This is a situation I run into a lot but never seem to find a good solution. I have movieclips that I scale up slightly on rollover, but if you hover over the edge of the movieclip it just sits there and flickers, continuously receiving mouseOver and mouseOut events. How do you deal with this? Again, it's usually a problem when tweening the scale of a movieclip or button. my_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, mOver); my_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, mOut); private function mOver(m:MouseEvent) { TweenLite.to(m.target, .2, { scaleX:1.1, scaleY:1.1} ); } private function mOut(m:MouseEvent) { TweenLite.to(m.target, .2, { scaleX:1, scaleY:1} ); }

  • how can I unload a swf with AS3?

    - by Ole Media
    Any body can help on how I can do to unload a swf before I load the next one? var mLoader:Loader = new Loader(); function loadSWF(e:Event):void { var imageId:Array = e.target.name.split("_"); var targetId:int = imageId[0]; var caption:int = imageId[1]; txt = arrayText[caption]; dynText1.text = ""; dynText1.text = arrayText[caption]; dynText1.setTextFormat(textFormatMain); var swf:String = "swf/" + xmlList[targetId].image[caption].@swf; if (mLoader.content != null) { swfLoad.swfArea.mLoader.unload(); swfLoad.swfArea.mLoader.load(null); } mLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onCompleteHandler); mLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, onProgressHandler); mLoader.load(new URLRequest(swf)); } //-------------------------------------------------------------------------// function onCompleteHandler(loadEvent:Event):void { swfLoad.swfArea.addChild(loadEvent.currentTarget.content); TweenLite.to(swfLoad, 0.5, {alpha:1}); } function onProgressHandler(mProgress:ProgressEvent):void { //var percent:Number = mProgress.bytesLoaded/mProgress.bytesTotal; //trace(percent); }

  • SoundChannel object plays small portion after being stopped and played again

    - by gok
SoundChannel object is stopped and played again. When played again it plays small portion from the previous position and suddenly jumps back to the beginning. It doesn't play the whole sound before looping. This happens only once, then it loops normally. It happens again if I stop and play. public function play():void { channel = clip.play(trimIn); volume(currentVolume); isPlaying = true; timer.start(); channel.addEventListener(Event.SOUND_COMPLETE, loopMusic); } public function loopMusic(e:Event=null):void { if (channel != null) { timer.stop(); channel.removeEventListener(Event.SOUND_COMPLETE, loopMusic); play(); } } Do I need to somehow reset the soundChannel?

  • Why wouldn't a flex remoteobject be able to work within a custom component?

    - by Gary
Please enlighten this flex noob. I have a remoteobject within my main.mxml. I can call a function on the service from an init() function on my main.mxml, and my java debugger triggers a breakpoint. When I move the remoteobject declaration and function call into a custom component (that is declared within main.mxml), the remote function on java-side no longer gets called, no breakpoints triggered, no errors, silence. How could this be? No spelling errors, or anything like that. What can I do to figure it out? mxml code: < mx:RemoteObject id="myService" destination="remoteService" endpoint="$(Application.application.home}/messagebroker/amf" > < /mx:RemoteObject > function call is just 'myService.getlist();' when I move it to a custom component, I import mx.core.Application; so the compiler doesn't yell my child component: child.mxml <mx:Panel xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" creationComplete="init()" > <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.core.Application; public function init():void { helloWorld.sayHello(); } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:RemoteObject id="helloWorld" destination="helloService" endpoint="$(Application.application.home}/messagebroker/amf" /> <mx:Label text="{helloWorld.sayHello.lastResult}" /> </mx:Panel> my main.mxml: <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" creationComplete="init()" xmlns:test="main.flex.*" > <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ [Bindable] public var home:String; [Bindable] public var uName:String; public function init():void { //passed in by wrapper html home = Application.application.parameters.appHome; uName = Application.application.parameters.uName; } ]]> </mx:Script> <test:child /> </mx:Application>

  • coin rotation, as3

    - by VideoDnd
What's the best way to make a coin rotation? I tried Math.random, but the coin doesn't wobble correctly. starter code //ROTATION addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, enterFrameHandler); function enterFrameHandler(event:Event):void { /* ADD VELOCITY, GRAVITY, ACCELERATION */ coin.rotationY += 8; } tried this, but it has no gravity or accelleration //ROTATION AND RANDOM MATH function wobble():void { var wobble = ((Math.random()*4)-2); flk.rotationY -= 11+wobble/2; flk.rotationX -= 2+wobble/20; } var myInterval:uint = setInterval (wobble, 40); I took out the work physics from my title:) I want it to behave like its affected by velocity, gravity, and acceleration.

The code is: var styleManager:IStyleManager2 = StyleManager.getStyleManager(null); I found the method in Flex documentation but when I open StyleManager.as I can't find the method declaration. Used Flex SDK 4.0.0.10485 from here.

  • as3 swc component preview through code

    - by David
I am developing an as3 swc-based component that populates its contents entirely through actionscript in the constructor (e.g. sprite.graphics.lineTo...). When I drag the component onto the stage, it is empty. If I export my movie, everything works perfectly, but I also need the live preview to work. I could get around this with a placeholder graphic, but I would much rather leave it purely as code. Is there any way to get around this? Thanks, David.

  • Jing + swfobject 2.2 = big video in small div

    - by consultutah
I am trying to use swfobject 2.2 to display an swf, but the swf won't scale to fit the div that I'm putting it in. You can see what I've got here. When it first loads, it is the right size, then it expands larger for some reason. If I right-click on the movie and select "Show All", it then fits perfectly. Here is the code to generate the sfobject: var flashvars = {}; var params = {} params.scale = "showAll"; params.allowscriptaccess = "always"; var attributes = {}; swfobject.embedSWF("/content/tour.swf", "flashContent", "900", "700", "9.0.0", "expressInstall.swf", flashvars, params, attributes); Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • How to encorporate encyption to FlexPaper

    - by Jonathan
Is it possible to configure the FlexPaper reader to un-encrypt password-protected pdfs or swfs? Here is the use-case: User uploads a pdf My server would then convert the pdf to swf via pdf2swf Then somehow encrypt the swf with a password (not sure best way to do this) Then the FlexPaper would be able to un-encrypt the swf and display it What I am trying to avoid is the caching of readable swf in the browser's cache. Any ideas on the best way to achieve this? I know, even with this it will not be a fully secure solution, but certainly helps. Note: I am running this on Linux and OS X and using Rails. Thanks! • Streaming server required with JW Player?

    - by Aaron
Currently, a site I developed plays mp3 files directly in JW Player using the file attribute and public URLs to the mp3 file. This is now an issue with the client for legal reasons, and they now need to stream the audio files so that the users can't open up their cache and nab the files directly after downloading. The JW player site has a bunch of examples for streaming video, but nothing for audio. Is it possible to stream audio files with JW player, and do we have to pay a lot of money for a streaming provider? Is it possible to do on the local php server?

  • compiling actionscript from command line using MXMLC

    - by I. J. Kennedy
I have a tiny actionscript "project" consisting of two files, call them foo.as and bar.as. For reasons I won't go into, I really really want to build the .SWF from the command line, without setting up a formal project of any kind. Every compiler I've ever used lets you do this, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to coerce MXMLC into compiling these two files and linking them into a SWF. Naively, I try MXMLC foo.as bar.as but I'm informed that only one source file is allowed. Ok, supposing I compiled these two files separately, how would I link them together to get the final SWF? NOTE: The only reason I have two files instead of one is the requirement of only one class per file. I tried putting both classes in one file and making one of the classes "private" or "internal" but neither of these ideas worked. I would be ecstatic to find out I can put more than one class in a file (with only one being public).

  • Darwin Streaming Server doesn't gives content

Hello! I have problems with Darwin Streaming server 5.5.5 on Debian. When i'm trying to open some stream, for ex. rtsp://sample.com/sample_100kbit.mp4 player reports it can't load stream and breaks connection. "Access History" section reports file was requested, so, at least initial connection is working, but nothing more. What can be wrong and what to check?
