  • iPhone file corruption

    - by sfider
Is it possible (on iPhone/iPod Touch) for a file written like this: if (FILE* file = fopen(filename, "wb")) { fwrite(buf, buf_size, 1, file); fclose(file); } to get corrupted, e.g. when app is forced to terminate? From what I know fwrite should be an atomic operation, so when I write whole file with one instruction no corruption should occure. I could not find any information on the net that would say otherwise.

  • Audio Framework in iPhone

    - by suse
There are three major frameworks for iPhone audio : AVFoundation Framework CoreAudio Framework OpenAL Library And in turn CoreAudio Framework has AudioToolkit Framework and AudioUnit Framework Is this correct? Suppose I import AVFoundation Framework into my project and it in turn needs a feature which is provided by CoreAudio Framework.. Can it internally access the features of CoreAudio without importing CoreAudio framework into my project?

  • Splitting jQuery into multiple files (for iPhone caching)

    - by Marko Ivanovski
Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to split jQuery into multiple files, i.e. jQuery-1.4.2_part1.js jQuery-1.4.2_part2.js jQuery-1.4.2_part3.js ...and so on. The reason I want to do this is because the iPhone doesn't cache assets larger than 25kb and I really need jQuery to only be downloaded once. If you think there are other workarounds for this I am considering all options right now. Thanks, Marko

  • audio processing in iPhone

    - by Janaka
I am writing an iPhone application to apply filters to audio input and output the result in real time. I am new to audio processing but using audiounit, the correct approach? I found out how to output data using audiounit but couldn’t figure out how to capture input audio. Is there a sample application showing how to connect input and output using audiounit?

  • Where does Xcode Organizer store iPhone screenshots?

    - by Anton
I've made a hundred of screenshots from iPhone thru Organizer but it looks like the only way to get actual files is by clicking on each screenshot and saving it. Is there any place on my Mac I can have them all? They are definitely stored somewhere -- all are listed in OrganizerScreenshots.

  • Creating notes on facebook through FBConnect in iPhone application

    - by Vin
Hi All, I have tried FBConnect for iPhone and am able to create/manage sessions and upload pictures successfully. What I can't sort out is, how to create and edit notes. The Facebook documentation says that notes.create query takes three arguments:title, content and uid. It seems I am unable to form the right request for the required query. Please help me on this. Thanks in advance.

  • How do I center a UIImageView within a full-screen UIScrollView?

    - by Sebastian Celis
In my application, I would like to present the user with a full-screen photo viewer much like the one used in the Photos app. This is just for a single photo and as such should be quite simple. I just want the user to be able to view this one photo with the ability to zoom and pan. I have most of it working. And, if I do not center my UIImageView, everything behaves perfectly. However, I really want the UIImageView to be centered on the screen when the image is sufficiently zoomed out. I do not want it stuck to the top-left corner of the scroll view. Once I attempt to center this view, my vertical scrollable area appears to be greater than it should be. As such, once I zoom in a little, I am able to scroll about 100 pixels past the top of the image. What am I doing wrong? @interface MyPhotoViewController : UIViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate> { UIImage* photo; UIImageView *imageView; } - (id)initWithPhoto:(UIImage *)aPhoto; @end @implementation MyPhotoViewController - (id)initWithPhoto:(UIImage *)aPhoto { if (self = [super init]) { photo = [aPhoto retain]; // Some 3.0 SDK code here to ensure this view has a full-screen // layout. } return self; } - (void)dealloc { [photo release]; [imageView release]; [super dealloc]; } - (void)loadView { // Set the main view of this UIViewController to be a UIScrollView. UIScrollView *scrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] init]; [self setView:scrollView]; [scrollView release]; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Initialize the scroll view. CGSize photoSize = [photo size]; UIScrollView *scrollView = (UIScrollView *)[self view]; [scrollView setDelegate:self]; [scrollView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blackColor]]; // Create the image view. We push the origin to (0, -44) to ensure // that this view displays behind the navigation bar. imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0, -44.0, photoSize.width, photoSize.height)]; [imageView setImage:photo]; [scrollView addSubview:imageView]; // Configure zooming. CGSize screenSize = [[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds].size; CGFloat widthRatio = screenSize.width / photoSize.width; CGFloat heightRatio = screenSize.height / photoSize.height; CGFloat initialZoom = (widthRatio > heightRatio) ? heightRatio : widthRatio; [scrollView setMaximumZoomScale:3.0]; [scrollView setMinimumZoomScale:initialZoom]; [scrollView setZoomScale:initialZoom]; [scrollView setBouncesZoom:YES]; [scrollView setContentSize:CGSizeMake(photoSize.width * initialZoom, photoSize.height * initialZoom)]; // Center the photo. Again we push the center point up by 44 pixels // to account for the translucent navigation bar. CGPoint scrollCenter = [scrollView center]; [imageView setCenter:CGPointMake(scrollCenter.x, scrollCenter.y - 44.0)]; } - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setBarStyle:UIBarStyleBlackTranslucent]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarStyle:UIStatusBarStyleBlackTranslucent animated:YES]; } - (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillDisappear:animated]; [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setBarStyle:UIBarStyleDefault]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarStyle:UIStatusBarStyleDefault animated:YES]; } - (UIView *)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollView { return imageView; } @end

  • Storing secret keys on iPhone source and project resources

    - by hgpc
Is storing secret keys (internal use passwords and such) on iPhone source code and project resources (such as plist files) secure? Obviously nothing is 100% secure, but can this information be extracted easily from an installed app? How do you recommend storing these keys to use them in the source code? Just in case, this question is not about storing user passwords.

  • How can I compile an iPhone App with Flash CS5 without a Developer License

    - by manderson12
I understand Flash CS5 isn't the best way to make an app, but I'd really like to test out the apps I've made with it on my iPhone. Has anyone come up with a way to modify Flash CS5 so it doesn't require a Developer Certificate or Provisioning Profile (like the way you would modify Xcode so you can compile apps without paying $99 for the developer program)? I'd really appreciate it if anyone could provide some help. Thanks in advance.

  • Turn off iPhone/Safari input element rounding

    - by Alex
My website renders well on the iPhone/Safari browser, with one exception: My text input fields have a weird rounded style which doesn't look good at all with the rest of my website. Is there a way to instruct Safari (via CSS or metadata) not to round the input fields and render them rectangular as intended?

  • Mixing sound files on an iPhone

    - by quano
I've got a couple of wav files and possibly a mp3 that I'd like to mix to a single wav or mp3-file. I'm using C/C++/Obj-C (iPhone). I have really no experience with this sort of thing. If anyone could give me some pointers, I would be very grateful. Thanks.
