• Any advice for dynamic music control?

    - by Assembler
I would like to be able to dynamically progress the score, and affect the volume levels of separate channels within the music. How could I do this? From my experience with mod music (olden days Amiga music, Mod Tracker, Scream Tracker, Fast Tracker II, Impulse Tracker etc etc), I believe this is the best way to tackle the problem, to allow the music to move from one loop to another, without anything mixed down. I want to do this in AS3, and am considering pulling apart Flod to make this happen

  • Do WordPress widget (or sidebar) hooks exist?

    - by Jeff
I'm trying to filter ALL widget output through a simple filter, but can't find any hooks and was hoping to be pointed in the right direction. Or possibly my efforts are not even possible? My simple filter is something like this: function clean_widget_output( $input ) { return str_replace( array( "\t", "\n", "\r" ), '', $input ); } add_[FILTER OR ACTION]( 'need_a_hook', 'clean_widget_output', 99 ); Any ideas? I'm pretty new to PHP, but I can get around.

  • Has anyone managed to build php5-xapian on Ubuntu 12.04?

    - by jetboy
As Xapian's been dropped from the Ubuntu repositories, I'm attempting to build my own .deb from the instructions here: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.search.xapian.general/8855 http://beeznest.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/howto-build-your-own-binaries-of-php-xapian-bindings-for-debian/ I can only get things to progress beyond the first few seconds by leaving out 'rm debian/control', but if I do, it looks as if the Python and Ruby bindings are building and passing their versions of smoketest correctly. However, the PHP part of the build is failing with this error: /home/charlie/xapian-bindings-1.2.8/php/smoketest.php:38: include(xapian.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory FAIL: smoketest.php There's a xapian.php file in /home/charlie/xapian-bindings-1.2.8/php/php5/ but if I copy it to /home/charlie/xapian-bindings-1.2.8/php/ or change the path to it in smoketest.php, the build fails right near the start with: dpkg-source: error: aborting due to unexpected upstream changes Unfortunately I'm out of my comfort zone building from source. Anyone got any ideas? Edit post James' answer: Builds fine if I follow instructions exactly. I built it on a test VM initially, but that didn't build the PHP package as PHP itself wasn't installed. Obvious gotcha, but worth mentioning. Installing generated the following error: Setting up php5-xapian (1.2.8-1) ... Processing triggers for libapache2-mod-php5 ... dpkg (subprocess): unable to execute installed post-installation script (/var/lib/dpkg/info/libapache2-mod-php5.postinst): Permission denied ssion denied dpkg: error processing libapache2-mod-php5 (--install): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2 Errors were encountered while processing: libapache2-mod-php5 It's only a script for restarting Apache. Stopping Apache before running sudo dpkg -i php5-xapian_*.deb prevents the error. Xapian now shows up in phpinfo(). Job done. Thanks.

  • Apache downloads php files instead of running their source

    - by Devils Child
I have just recently upgraded PHP 5.3 to 5.4 on my Debian Squeeze server. Now, instead of executing PHP files, Apache just downloads them, which is really bad. When I try to follow these steps, I get "broken packages" upon installing the libapache2-mod-php5 package. Also the answer tells me to add something to my httpd.conf, but it's empty. • How to filter a character stream from an application using PowerShell?

    - by Christian
A powershell question: I want to extract each line in a character stream produced by an application that matches a certain pattern which in pseudo-code would be something like this: PS <a_ps_command> <the_application_command_for_outputting_the_text_stream> | <my_filter > output_file.txt In my case the application is a CM-tool that outputs the change history of a source file and the (psuedo)pattern should be something like: <a couple of numbers><a time stamp><a line of characters> Cheers, Christian

  • jquery sortable item cached? #sortable items: '.class1' filter is not working when class is changed

    - by liz
hello everyone, i came across a weird problem today: i created a sortable list of divs. each div has a class="class1" and items is set to 'class1' (see below simplified code). each div has an a href link that calls a function toggleLock. this function replaces class="class1" with class="locked" for that div. for example: will become the problem is: even though #sortable is set to "make" only items with class="class1" sortable, replacing the class still allows to be sortable. seems like item class is cached at some point. i've tried to refresh #sortable ($('#sortable').sortable("refreshPosition") and $('#sortable').sortable("");), but that didn't work. i've tried both ways of replacing the class: attr('class','lock') and removeClass(), then addClass(). still is sortable. if class is not changed dynamically, but loads into DOM as , then it's not sortable as expected. why wouldn't replacement of the class from class1 to locked prevent that div from being sortable? am i missing something? sample code:

....
<href="javascript:void(null);" onclick="toggleLock($(this).attr('id').replace('R',''));" id="R1">lock
This is item 1

<href="javascript:void(null);" onclick="toggleLock($(this).attr('id').replace('R',''));" id="R2">lock
This is item 2

<href="javascript:void(null);" onclick="toggleLock($(this).attr('id').replace('R',''));" id="R3">lock
This is item 3

js: $(function() { $("#sortable").sortable({ items: '.class1', handle: '.sortHandle', cursor: 'move', start: function(e,ui) { el = e.target; startPos = ui.item.prevAll().length+1; }, update: function(event, ui) { data = $('.class1').sortable('toArray'); newPos = ui.item.prevAll().length+1; alert("position: "+startPos+"; newposition: "+newPos); } }).disableSelection(); });

  • URL Routing with WebForms, what to do with additional querystrings like page number, filter, etc?

    - by Scott
I am switching from Intelligencia's UrlRewriter to the new web forms routing in ASP.NET 4.0. I have it working great for basic pages, however, in my e-commerce site, when browsing category pages, I previously used querystrings that were built into my pager control to control paging. An old url (with UrlRewriting) would be: http://www.mysite.com/Category/Arts-and-Crafts_17 I have a MapPageRoute defined in global.asax as: routes.MapPageRoute("category-browse", "Category/{name}_{id}", ~/CategoryPage.aspx"); This works great. Now, somebody clicks to go to page 2. Previously I would have just tacked on ?page=2 as the querystring. Now, How do I handle this using web forms routing? I know I can do something like: http://www.mysite.com/Category/Arts-and-Crafts_17/page/2 But in addition to page, I can have filters, age ranges, gender, etc. Should I just keep defining routes that handle these variables, or should I continue using querystrings and can I define a route that allows me to use my querstrings like before?

  • How to use XPath to filter elements by TextContent? get parent by axis?

    - by Michael Mao
Hi all: I've found a similar question on SO, however, that seems not exactly what I wanna achieve: Say, this is a sample XML file: <root>

</root> If I wanna get a "filtered" subset of the item elements from this XML, how could I use an XPath expression to directly address that? XPathExpression expr = xpath.compile("/root/item/category/text()"); I now know this would evaluate to be the collection of all the TextContent from the categories, however, that means I have to use a collection to store the values, then iterate, then go back to grab other related info such as the item id again. Another question is : how could I refer to the parent node properly? Say, this xpath expression would get me the collection of all the id nodes, right? But what I want is the collection of item nodes: XPathExpression expr = xpath.compile("/root/item/id[@isInStock='true']"); I know I should use the "parent" axis to refer to that, but I just cannot make it right... Is there a better way of doing this sort of thing? Learning the w3cschools tutorials now... Sorry I am new to XPath in Java, and thanks a lot in advance.

  • Noob filter: How do I refer to a string that is passed to my Ruby on Rails method from Flex as a HTT

    - by ben
I have a HTTPService in my Flex 4 app that I call like this: getUserDetails.send(userLookup.text); In my Ruby on Rails method that this is linked to, how do I refer to the userLookup.text parameter? The method is as follows, with XXX as the placeholder: def getDetails @user = User.first (:conditions => "username = XXX") render :xml => @user end UPDATE: Is this way correct? I found it here. I'm still getting errors but it might be because of something else. def getDetails(lookupUsername) @user = User.first (:conditions => "username = '#{lookupUsername}") render :xml => @user end Thanks for reading!
