• asp.net report generation - page cannot be diplayed

  I have a asp.net application which generates reports.When the user clicks on generate report, the report is generated in the background and link to that report is written on the UI. There is no problem with the application as many of them are able to generate the reports successfully. However few users are facing issue is generating reports.The issue is, "When they click on generate report button, the report is being generated but before getting the link to the report,users are getting "page cannot be displayed" page" "And for few of them it occurs only in IE and not in mozila" Please help me in resolving this issue. • javascript: how to delay submitting data when several checkboxes clicked in short time interval?

  I have an array of checkboxes in a complex dynamic-html form. Whenever a user clicks one checkbox, a fairly expensive query is generated and submitted to a remote server. I want to delay this submit action depending on the users next action. If the user clicks several checkboxes quickly, all of the first clicks should be discarded, only the last one is processed and eventually submitted after 1 second or so. maybe this is a common problem but I have never worked with timeouts before.

• Very Different Execution Times of SQL Query in C# and SQL Server Management Studio

  I have a simple SQL query that when run from C# takes over 30 seconds then times-out every time, whereas when run on SQL Server Management Studio successfully completes instantly. In the latter case, a query execution plan reveals nothing troubling, and the execution time is spread nicely through a few simple operations. I've run 'EXEC sp_who2' while the query is running from C#, and it is listed as taking 29,000 milliseconds of CPU time, and is not blocked by anything. I have no idea how to begin solving this. Does anyone have some insight? The query is: SELECT c.lngId, ... • Curls and file_get_contents times out when loading a page

  Im trying to grab the content of this page(http://www.alluc.org/movies/watch-hot-tub-time-machine-2010-online/186214.html) using curl or file_get_contents but it doesnt work, it loads when i just open it in the browser, but not otherwise. I was thinking to deal with this using a Ajax and threads. I am using regular javascript for ajax. But I am stuck with it. • Programmatically setup a PEAP connection in Windows Mobile

  I have been working on this for a few days and this is doing my head in: Our application is built using the .NET Compact Framework 2.0 and running on Windows Mobile 5 & 6 devices. We can set the WLAN connection of the device programmatically using the Wireless Zero Config functions (described here: msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms894771.aspx), most notably the WZCSetInterface function which we pinvoke from our application. This works fine for WEP and WPA-PSK connections. In a recent effort to add support for WPA2 networks we decided to modify the code. We have successfully added support for WPA2 which uses a certificate for the 802.1x authentication by setting the correct registry settings before calling WZCSetInterface. Now we want to do the same for WPA2 using PEAP (MS-CHAPv2) authentication. When manually creating such a connection in Windows Mobile the user will be prompted to enter the domain/user/password details. In our application we will have those details stored locally and want to do this all programmatically without any user intervention. So I thought going along the same route as the certificate authentication, setting the correct registry entries before calling WZCSetInterface. The registry settings we set are: \HKCU\Comm\EAP\Config\[ssid name] Enable8021x = 1 (DWORD) LastAuthSuccessful = 1 (DWORD) EapTypeId = 25 (DWORD) Identity = "domain\username" (string) Password = binary blob containing the password that is encrypted using the CryptProtectData function (described here: msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms938309.aspx) But when these settings are set and I call WZCSetInterface with the correct parameters, it still prompts me with the User Logon dialog asking for the domain/username/password. Has anyone got an idea what I need to do to prevent the password dialog from appearing and connect straight away with the settings stored in the registry?

• After 30 seconds, update MYSQL databse

  Hello everyone! I've been looking around here on SO and Googling, however I can't find anything that fits my description. What I want to do is update the database if the page has not been refreshed after 30 seconds. I want to email a person with the contents of a form {submitted by a different user} (I can do that) IF the person has NOT visited the page (I can do that) within the last 30 seconds. What I've tried to do is make the page that should be visited refresh every 30 seconds, and so I figured if I did something like after 31 seconds, edit the database (so if the refreshed page was not refreshed, the database editing would run). I'm sorry if this sounds complicated, there's probably a better way to do this, but I'm not sure how. The bigger picture is I'm trying to make a 'on-duty' sort of thing, so that if the person is not actively looking at the page, they will get emailed with whatever the contents of the form is. The page will contain a table of all the entered form results.

L3> void try_lock_until( const chrono::time_point<Clock,Duration>& abs_time, L1&, L2&, L3&...); I have an implementation that follows the same design as the Boost function boost::lock(...). But this is quite complex. As I can be missing something evident I wanted to know if: is there a simple timed lock algorithm avoiding deadlock on multiple mutexes? If no simple implementation exists, can this justify a proposal to Boost? P.S. Please avoid posting complex solutions.

If WiFi is being used, it is nice and clean. If 3G connection is being used, sometimes, it cannot get connected OR application HANGS. Is there any significant difference between handling WiFi and 3G ? Thanks.

  A client has the admin ability to upload a PDF to their respective directory and have it listed on their website. All of this works dandy until a PDF reaches a certain file size that makes the server time out. This causes an error and the file uploaded will not succeed. As mentioned in the title, we are using ColdFusion with a command. Is there any java/jquery/flash modules or applications that could resolve this issue?

• Stop functions in 5 minutes if they dont end running

  I want to add a feature in my project. I have 2 functions running in a for-loop because I want to find the solution of the functions in random arrays. I also have an function that makes random arrays. In each loop the array that is made by the random_array fun are the input of the 2 functions. The 2 functions print solutions in the screen , they dont return an argument. int main(){ for (i=0;i<50 i++) { arr1=ramdom_array(); func1(arr1) func2(arr1) } } I need to stop the functions running if they have not ended in 5 minutes. I have thought that I have to put in the functions something like this : void func1(array<array<int,4>,4> initial) { while (5minutes_not_passed) { //do staff if(solution==true) break; } } But I dont know what to put in the 5minutes_not_passed. the declaration of the functions are like this: void func1(array<array<int,4>,4> initial) void func2(array<array<int,4>,4> initial) I have found that I can use the thread library but I dont think meshing up with threads in a good idea. I believe something like a timer is needed. Note that the functions sometimes might end before 5 minutes.

  Does anyone know off a way or maybe think its possible to connect Node.js with Nginx http push module to maintain a persistent connection between client and browser. I am new to comet so just don't understand the publishing etc maybe someone can help me with this. What i have set up so far is the following. When there is a message it will fire updateFeed. Pretty basic and understandable IMO. Pretty basic also. This part is not so hard to understand, and is well documented over the internet. Most of the time there is a ruby or a php file behind this that does the broadcasting. My idea is to have node.js broadcasting /broadcast/pub. I think this will let me have persistent streaming data from the server to the client without breaking the connection. I tried the long-polling approach with looping the request but I think this will be more efficient. Or is this not going to work. Node.js file Now to create the Node.js i'm lost. First off all I don't know how to have node.js to work in this way. The setup I used for long polling is as follows: var sys = require('sys'), http = require('http'); http.createServer(function (req, res) { res.writeHead(200, {'Content-Type': 'text/html'}); res.write(new Date()); res.close(); seTimeout('',1000); }).listen(8000); This listens to port 8000 and just writes on the response variable. Does anyone have an idea on how to have Node.js act in a way Comet understands it. Would be really nice and you will help me out a lot. • Sharepoint - connectable receiving, XSLT editable web part?

  You can use the "Data View" webpart to take data from a database call, then you can edit the XSLT manually to make it look and do whatever you want, within the scope of that data and XSLT capabilities. Is there a web part that allows me to do the same thing, but with data that is received by a connected webpart source rather than a database set? For example: I'd like to be able to pull in a Data View webpart that queries a bunch of data and makes it available all over the page. Then, I would like to hide that Data View. Once it is hidden, I'd like to be able to take another customizable webpart and pull a field (or multiple fields if possible) from the Data View webpart via a webpart connection. This would allow me to display various fields in creative formats without having to call the same query multiple times on the same page by different webparts. Is there an in house webpart that will allow me to do this?

• Can I directly use JAVA-sourcecode directly in SCILAB, or Is there another way to connect both?

  Hi, a friend of mine uses SCILAB for doing his mathematicall "homework" for his studies and he told me, that it should be possible to use JAVA-sourcecode diretly in SCILAB. The background is that I presented my current JAVA project and I would like to plot this in 3d, but I haven't done graphical output so far. And he proposed to let SCILAB do the 3d plotting, because there are some ready to use plot scemes implented. But he couldn't tell me how to achive this, so that's why I'm here :). So my first question is, IF this is possible to directly use JAVA-Source code in SCILAB or at least to some kind of connection between both? And how this is done! :) Thank you in advance, Andreas

  Hello, I am coding a simple space empire management game in Visual C# 2008, which relies on connecting to a remote SQL server database to get/store data. I would like the user to be able to connect to a user-specified SQL server from the login screen(he specifies IP address, port, database name, ID, password and presses "connect" button). However, I found out that the Dataset connection string property is read only and cannot be changed. Is there any way to guide the wizard-generated DataSet to a user-specified server at run time? • MSNP-Sharp Example fails to login, gives SocketException

  I've just downloaded the MSNP-Sharp library with the aim of creating my own messaging client, however I am struggling to get the example to sign in. The code all compiles and runs, but when I provide my login details and select "Login" I almost immediately get the following SocketException: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 64.4.9.254:1863" I've stepped through the code and it's the messenger.Connect() function that is causing this, somewhat obviously. When I run the example I only change the login and password details. I am running Windows 7 x86 with the latest version of Windows Live Messenger. I have tried disabling my antivirus, even going as far as to temporarily uninstall it in case that was the error. I have also tried disabling Windows Firewall, with no luck.
