• UDDI - find service which name matches exactly name specified in request

  Hi. I'm asking UDDI to find a service with a name specified in request. The code looks like this: UddiConnection uddiConnection = new UddiConnection(uddiAddress); FindService findService = new FindService(); findService.Names.Add(uddiServiceName); ServiceList foundServices = findService.Send(uddiConnection); However, when I ask for SomeService and UDDI has two services SomeService and SomeServiceSecond I get both in found services. How can I ask for service that name exactly matches the name specified? I know I can check the result in my class and limit found services collection but I would like to specify my needs in UDDI inquire. Thanks in advance for help.

• Placing a library part using the Revit Api

  I am using the revit api to import a family symbol. The code below is working however it loads the family into revit, and then you have to manually drag it from the familys tree or insert using the relevant family tool. Document document = commandData.Application.ActiveDocument; document.LoadFamilySymbol(fileName, name, out gotSymbol); How do i get it to the point where it is asking the user where they want it placed? (similar to when you click "load into project" when you are editing a family) so they dont have to drag it from the familys tree

• Creating Graphs on an iPad/iPhone

  I was wondering if anyone knew of a simple way to implement graphing in an iPhone/iPad application. I've spent quite a bit of time googling and can't seem to find any sort of a solution. Maybe I'm just searching with the wrong terms since a lot of consumers are asking about "graphing" in terms of using their applications, not developing them, the search-space is rather polluted. It seems like a lot of iPad/iPhone applications have embedded graphs... and I can't imagine that every developer has invented their own graphing engine from the ground up. Or, maybe they have... Does anyone have any suggestions?

• How do I ensure that SOAP requests from a flash client to my ASP server are coming from the flash cl

  I have a flash based game that has a high score system implemented with a SOAP service. There are prizes involved and I want to prevent someone from using FireBug or similar to discover the webservice path and submit fake scores. I considered using some kind of encryption on the data but am aware that someone could decompile the swf and work out how I did it. I also considered using an IP whitelist but since the incoming data will come from the users IP and not the servers that won't work. (I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here...) I know that there is a tried and tested solution for this, but I don't seem to be asking google the right questions to get to it. Any help and suggestions will be appreciated, thank you

• ie6 p3p 'file download security warning'

  i have a page inside iframe, so i set the header to "P3P","CP=\"IDC DSP COR ADM DEVi TAIi PSA PSD IVAi IVDi CONi HIS OUR IND CNT\"" after that my page inside iframe able to load properly and i able to authenticate user with 'form' post . but on ie6, when i post 'form' inside iframe, i get ie6 message 'file download security warning on javascript file' . those javascript files are put on 'head' of pages inside iframe. how comes ie6 suddenly pop up dialog asking to download those files? anyone know which p3p parameter cause this problem?

  How can I, from within a java program on windows, prevent a debugger window being displayed if a program I invoke crashes, and how can I detect the fact that it has crashed? Background I have a problem with a java application running on Windows which is launching an unreliable third party program by way of ProcessBuilder.start(). Specifically, if the external program crashes, the 'Visual Studio Just-In-time Debugger' window pops up asking if the user wants to debug the program. From the java application side, I'm happy to deal with the fact that under some circumstances, the third party program will crash, but I'd like to be able to detect and silently handle that situation from within the Java code without requiring any user interaction.

• Find package name for Android apps to use Intent to launch Market app from web

  I'm creating a mobile website that will include a page from which people can download relevant apps that we recommend. I've found instructions for creating the links to launch the Market but this assumes that you are the developer of the app in question and know the exact package name. Is there any way to get the package name, other than just contacting the developers and asking? Also, it turns out that those instructions don't really work for creating web hyperlinks. They only give you a URI to reference in a string of Java code in another Android app. Our site is in Drupal, so Java is not going to work. For the iPhone, I found easy instructions for getting the URL/link style I need from the iTunes store, so I'm looking for info like that.

• Separation of concerns and authentication

  I'm trying to be a Good Developer and separate my concerns out. I've got an ASP.NET MVC project with all my web code, and a DAL project with all the model code. Sometimes code in the DAL needs to check if the current user is authorized to perform some actions, by checking something like CurrentUser.IsAdmin. For the web site, the current is derived from the Windows username (from HttpContext.Current.User.Identity), but this is clearly a web concern and shouldn't be coupled to the DAL. What's the best pattern to loosely couple the authentication? Should the DAL be asking the MVC code for a username, or the MVC be telling the DAL? Are there advantages or disadvantages to one or the other? Thank you!

• What programming language best bridges the gap between pseudocode and code?

  As I write code from now on, I plan to first lay out everything in beautiful, readable pseudocode and then implement the program around that structure. If I rank the languages that I currently know from easiest to most difficult to translate, I'd say: Lisp, Python, Lua, C++, Java, C I know that each language has its strength and weaknesses but I'm focusing specifically on pseudocode. What language do you use that is best suited for pseudocode-to-code? I always enjoy picking up new languages. Also, if you currently use this technique, I'd love to hear any tips you have about structuring practical pseudocode. Note: I feel this is subjective but has a clear answer per individual preference. I'm asking this here because the SO community has a very wide audience and is likely to suggest languages and techniques that I would otherwise not encounter.

• What CPAN module can send all warnings and errors to a log file?

  I'm maintaining some website code that currently dumps all errors and warnings into the apache log. This is a problem for me as i cannot access that due to lack of root. As such I am looking to redirect all warnings and errors to a specified log file under my control. I'd like to do so without preventing those messages from going through their usual patch of execution. Now, before i spend a lot of time fiddling with the Perl internals and possibly breaking things unawares I thought I'd look for a CPAN module that does this. However, I either do not know how to properly search for this, or I am overlooking something and thus cannot find any module that seems suitable. Thus my asking here: What CPAN module would i use for this task?

• Wifi and 3G same time

  For my App I need Data from both, a local Network and the Internet. The local Network (Wifi) has no connection to the internet so I have to use the mobile connection (3G for Example). But whenever I connect to the local Network, 3G stopps. After asking the Samsung Service, there is no way to change that in the UI. But they couldn't tell me, if there is a programmable Interface for that. There is a mobile access point inside, so there is a way to connect a Wifi device to the Internet (which means that both, a wifi and a 3G connection is possible the same time in that way). But for my App the phone/tab has to connect to the existing Network and use the 3G for Internet. So this is my question here. Is there a way to connect to an existing Network and using 3G for Internet the same time?

• HTTP vs FTP upload

  I am building a large website where members will be allowed to upload content (images, videos) up to 20MB of size (maybe a little less like 15MB, we haven't settled on a final upload limit yet but it will be somewhere between 10-25MB). My question is, should I go with HTTP or FTP upload in this case. Bear in mind that 80-90% of uploads will be smaller size like cca 1-3MB but from time to time some members will also want to upload large files (10MB+). Is HTTP uploading reliable enough for such large files or should I go with FTP? Is there a noticeable speed difference between HTTP and FTP while uploading files? I am asking because I'm using Zend Framework which already has HTTP adapter for file uploads, in case I choose FTP I would have to write my own adapter for it. Thanks!

  Is there any point at all on inheriting from Type class in .Net? i.e. What could be the meaning of doing so? I am asking this because of this text in MSDN documentation: Notes to Inheritors When you inherit from Type, you must override the following members... list of members. MSDN doc for Type: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.type.aspx ok, that is actually saying that anyone can inherit from Type... but they dont say why would you ever want to do that.   Hi, First off I should say that I don't have any experience in working with a CMS. I have 2 general questions about CMS: How easy is it to create a template? I have strong CSS/XHTML skills, is creating a template as easy as writing the markup or does it have to be done in a very rigid way? How is jQuery support in CMS systems?   Hello! we are tying to port a J2EE app from OAS 9.0.4 (working perfectly) on OAS 10.1.3.5 the reson we do that is because we need the app compiled with java 1.5 and OAS 10.1.3.5 would be the single major version supporting that binaries which has oc4j/orion kernel. The issue is that the security constraints in matter of user/group/role are not read by the app server, and instead of asking for these sets of users, i have to use the oc4jadmin instead the selected users for auth. All xml files needed for describing these sets of rules are being checked with the OAS book, and it seems they are correctly filled in... anybody has an idea about this?

  In allusion to Dare Obasanjo's impressions on Map, Reduce, Filter (Functional Programming in C# 3.0: How Map/Reduce/Filter can Rock your World) "With these three building blocks, you could replace the majority of the procedural for loops in your application with a single line of code. C# 3.0 doesn't just stop there." Should we increasingly use them instead of loops? And should be having loops(instead of those three building blocks of data manipulation) be one of the metrics for coding horrors on code reviews? And why? [NOTE] I'm not advocating fully functional programming on those codes that could be simply translated to loops(e.g. tail recursions) Asking for politer term. • XCode Syntax Coloring Broken

  XCode frequently seems to lose it's mind, and doesn't color code system classes or provide correct "code sense" suggestions. This is endlessly frustrating. I have rebuilt the code sense indexes and completely restarted XCode with no change. I have built my project to make sure there are no errors and restarted. I have copied my files (sans .svn files) to a different location - same problem. I've already completely disabled the argument "placeholders" because they screw up my documents when i type too fast... all I'm asking for is for the "esc" key to display the correct list of properties and methods.

• What open source database platform is most easily transferred from my personal machine into a window

  I would like eventual interaction with MS Dynamics SL and/or MindTouch Core (running on WMware) for eventual intranet and/or internet display. I guess I am asking for front and back end recommendations for a database I am constructing, but since this is my first major project I would greatly appreciate any help and advice. I would also love an opportunity to learn a new language so the code base could be in any language. I do have a few more related questions for discussion; What is the viability of using Google hosting to provide the service to the public for free? Should I implement plone or another CMS if I have a large amount of output? Is there a structuring questionnaire or standards publication I could reference? • UITableView and keyboard scrolling problem

  after a lot of trial and error, I'm giving up and asking the question. I've seen a lot of people with similar problems but can't get all the answers to work right. I have a UITableView which is composed of custom cells. The cells are made of 5 text fields next to each other (sort of like a grid). When I try to scroll and edit the cells at the bottom of the UITableView, I can't manage to get my cells properly positioned above the keyboard. I have seen many answers talking about changing view sizes,etc... but none of them has worked nicely so far. Could anybody clarify the "right" way to do this with a concrete code example?   Hello everyone! First time using this service for a question. I hope I am not asking something that has already been answered. I attempted to find an answer to my question with the search engine but i was unable to. My question is as follows: Using php, javascript, or anything actually, is it possible for me to track how my users are viewing the pages on my blog/website? Specifically, I want to track the time the user's browser spends reading specific sections of my content on the same page. For example, it would answer questions such as: How much time did someone spend reading the introduction to my article vs the conclusion? (located on the same page) Basically, tracking the "eyes" of a web visitor by looking at where the browser is currently scrolled down the page too. I'm sorry if i'm a bit noob! Thanks for any help with my problem you can provide to me! ^_^

• Lotus Notes doesn't send customised button

  Hi All, I created a customised button with some simple actions attached to it in Lotus Notes 6.5. It's just a simple voting button, which I emailed to a group of nearly 200 people. While sending I got a pop up telling me that the button can't be send. After about 10 seconds I got a first reply asking 'where's the button'. Then an avalanche of very clever emails followed, such as: 'no button', 'where's the button', etc. Before I spammed everyon I had tried the email on my work mate and the button went through fine! Any ideas? I suspect some security policy.... I really need to send this mail and get the survey results, so I don't want to fail again. Any suggestions appreciated. Many Thanks, Damo
