  I want to use HTTP_DOWNLOAD to manage my downloads ,, I have never used PEAR before !! HTTP_DOWNLOAD depends on many other packages , I downloaded them and the ones they , in turn , depend on and this is the structure I made : Download.PHP <---HTTP_DOWNLOAD MAIN FILE Header.php <--- HTTP_HEADER MAIN FILE PEAR.php PEAR5.php Type.php <--- MIME_Type >Type <---- FOLDER - Extension.php MIME_Type File - Parameter.php MIME_Type File assuming that Http_DOWNLOAD depends on : * PHP 4.2.0 * PEAR 1.4.0b1 * PEAR * HTTP_Header * pcre extension * Archive_Tar (Optional) * Archive_Zip (Optional) * MIME_Type (Optional) * mime_magic extension (Optional) * pgsql extension (Optional) and I edited the paths inside each file to reflect this structure , and I tried to run the following code : <?php require_once 'Download.php'; $params = array('file'=>'file.zip'); $down = new HTTP_Download($params); $down->send(true); ?> nothing happens !! I also got a hard time trying to figure how to use the class and I think this code should work .. but not sure ! Help Please !

• python and paramiko: how to check if end of ssh tunnel is still alive and reestablish if not?

  Hello all, I'm trying to achieve the following: I have two hosts A and B. A establishes a remote port forwarding tunnel on B, i.e. B is the one a port is forwarded on to some where else and A is the one that sets up the tunnel. I tried the script rforward.py that ships with paramiko and it works very well so far. (I'm running rforward.py on A, which connects to B and forwards a port of B to somewhere else) However, when B is shutting down, A doesn't seem to recognize it. I'd rather like A to recognize that B is down and to try to reestablish the connection periodically in case B comes up again. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

  Hi, I have a question regarding Clustering (session replication/failover) in tomcat 6 using BackupManager. Reason I chose BackupManager, is because it replicates the session to only one other server. I am going to run through the example below to try and explain my question. I have 6 nodes setup in a tomcat 6 cluster with BackupManager. The front end is one Apache server using mod_jk with sticky session enabled Each node has 1 session each. node1 has a session from client1 node2 has a session from client2 .. .. Now lets say node1 goes down ; assuming node2 is the backup, node2 now has two sessions (for client2 and client1) The next time client1 makes a request, what exactly happens ? Does Apache "know" that node1 is down and does it send the request directly to node2 ? =OR= does it try each of the 6 instances and find out the hard way who the backup is ?

• What is the difference between building a WSDL in Eclipse and using WCF?

  I'm somewhat familiar with WCF in that I can build Web Services in VS.Net ... I understand some of the concepts... But, the other day I cam across this option in Eclipse (I also use Java to code) to create a WSDL. Playing around with it it looks great since it has a GUI method of building itself. I guess I just wanna know what the difference is. 1) Are they different technologies like WSDL vs WCF? Or, is it that WCF uses WSDLs? 2) I read that WSDLs are a top-down approach... so what about WCF, is that top-down or is that bottom-up? 3) Will this WSDL in Eclipse actually be able to generate CSharp code for my server and client efficiently, or will it require a lot of fixing?

• How should I move my code from dev to production?

  I have created a PHP web-application. I have 3 environments: DEV, TEST, PROD. What's a good tool / business practice for me to move my PHP web-application code from DEV to TEST to the PROD environment? Realizing that my TEST environment still only connects to my TEST database; whereas, I need to PROD environment to connect to my PROD database. So the code is mostly the same, except that I need to change my TEST code once moved into PROD to connect to the PROD database and not TEST database. I've heard of people taking down Apache in such away that it doesn't allow new connections and once all the existing connections are idle it simply brings down the web server. Then people manually copy the code and then manually update the config files of the PHP application to also point to the PROD instance. That seems terribly dangerous. Does a best practice exists?

  I am trying to fix the performance problem with Dive Into Python 3 on IE8. Visit this page in IE8 and, after a few moments, you will see the following popup: I traced down the culprit down to this line in j/dip3.js ... find("tr:nth-child(" + (i+1) + ") td:nth-child(2)"); If I disable it (and return from the function immediately), the "Stop executing this script?" dialog does not appear as the page now loads fairly fast. I am no Javascript/jquery expert, so I ask you fellow developers as to why this query is making IE slow. Is there a fix for it? • How I do I make controls/elements move with inertia?

  Modern UI's are starting to give their UI elments nice inertia when moving. Tabs slide in, page transitions, even some listboxes and scroll elments have nice inertia to them (the iphone for example). What is the best algorythm for this? It is more than just gravity as they speed up, and then slow down as they fall into place. I have tried various formulae's for speeding up to a maximum (terminal) velocity and then slowing down but nothing I have tried "feels" right. It always feels a little bit off. Is there a standard for this, or is it just a matter of playing with various numbers until it looks/feels right?

• Suspended Laptop Cannot Wake Up - Ubuntu

  I've got an ASUS G73JH, and whenever I suspend it or hibernate it, it will not wake up. The screen stays backlight but is black. The fan remains running, however the HDD does not, not disk activity is noticeable (audibly (It's not a SSD)). I can't: Awaken it with the keyboard Awaken it with the mouse Soft power-off by pressing the power button Change virtual screens by pressing Ctrl-Alt-# Restart X by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Backspace I have to hold down the power button and shut it down that way, and this seems a little unreasonable. Is there a place I could look for more detail as to what's causing this? Is there a known quick-fix to this issue? Nothing is logged as happening when the system is in "suspend" mode. • Jquery roller/toggle effect

  Hi, I'm looking for a "roller toggle" in jquery (ideally using a plugin). If I have the following HTML: <ul> <li>Option 1</li> <li>Option 2</li> <li>Option 3</li> </ul> I would like the first option to be displayed and the others hidden. Each time I "tap/click" on an option it displays the next and loops around to the first one after the last one. When used on a mobile web device I'd like it respond to swipe up/down events and appear like a "roller" (i.e. using a slide up/down effect). Too much to ask? Hopefully not, any pointers appreciated. • Using multiple SWF Object - Flash doesn't focus on rollover

  I've got a page with multiple embeds of Flash objects, including dynamically created graphs. I'm including them all with SWF Object JS declared in the header. It works fine in the fact that all are loaded. But, for some reason when you move down on the page (so they're out of view) and back, or click on another object it no longer has focus when you're rolling over. I.e. I have a flash menu that moves on rollover. When you go down the page, click on something, then go back up it no longer response to rollover. I've seen bits on here and elsewhere about losing focus in Firefox (which is the browser Im using - i havent managed to find this bug in IE) but it's talking about literally not being able to type or whatever, when you click on it. This is on rollover. Has anyone got any advice or thoughts on this subject?

• GWT combobox not displaying correctly

  Hi, I am using GWT with GWT-EXT running in glassfish. I create 2 combo boxes as follows: import com.extjs.gxt.ui.client.widget.form.ComboBox; import com.extjs.gxt.ui.client.widget.form.SimpleComboBox; this.contentPanel = new ContentPanel(); this.contentPanel.setFrame(true); this.contentPanel.setSize((int)(Window.getClientWidth()*0.95), 600); this.contentPanel.setLayout(new FitLayout()); initWidget(this.contentPanel); SimpleComboBox<String> combo = new SimpleComboBox<String>(); combo.setEmptyText("Select a topic..."); combo.add("String1"); combo.add("String2"); this.contentPanel.add(combo); ComboBox combo1 = new ComboBox(); combo1.setEmptyText("Select a topic..."); ListStore topics = new ListStore(); topics.add("String3"); topics.add("String4"); combo.setStore(topics); this.contentPanel.add(combo1); When these are loaded in the browser (IE 8.0, Firefox 3.6.6 or Chrome 10.0) the combo boxes are shown but don't have the pull down arrow. They look like a text field with the "Select a topic..." text. When you select the text it disappears and if you type a character and then delete it the options are shown (i.e. pull down is invoked) however, there is still no pull down arrow. Does anyone know what the issue might be? Or how I can investigate further? Is it possible to see the actual HTML the browser is getting, when I View Page Source I only get the landing page HTML. As an additional I also have a import com.google.gwt.user.client.ui.Grid that does not render correctly. It is in table format but has no grid lines or header bar etc. Cheers, James

• Sanity Check: change event not firing first time using keyboard

  I've done a good amount of research on this and found a bunch of reported problems and solutions but the general consensus seems that all change problems in IE6 were fixed in jQuery 1.4.2. I'm having an issue where a change event is not firing in jQuery 1.4.2, but it did fire successfully in jQuery 1.3.2. This is in IE6. I'm about to submit a bug for this, but for my sanity I wanted to post it here first to see if there's something dumb I'm missing. The page loads, the focus is in the drop down, you press the down arrow. The option changes. Tab off the field, no alert. Weird. To make it even weirder, if you tab back into the field and change it again (all using the keyboard), the change event DOES fire after tab out this time. Any ideas?

• click-event doesn't fire if blur changes layout

  I have a form with blur-events bound to the required fields. Then there is a "Cancel" Button which simply calls an URL (button is an image with click-event). When leaving one of the required fields a warning is written to the page saying that field xy is required. - this causes a layout shift, meaning all the fields and the buttons are moved down a little bit because of the text inserted above. The tricky thing is this: when the focus is in an empty but required field and you click the cancel button, the required-warning is written to the screen but the click-event on the cancel button doesn't fire. I think this is due to the layout shift. The mouse cursor doesn't hover over the button anymore, because the button scrolled down. Has anyone a good idea how i could solve this?

• How do you make an image opened in colorbox scrollable

  I would like my images that I open in colorbox to be displayed fullsize with no resizing applied to them and then apply scrollbars to allow for viewing the larger images. Some of my images are quite tall and things get pixelated when resized down. Currently colorbox just resizes my images down to the size of the available height/width. Is there a way to make all images display fullsize with overflow scrollable in colorbox? • Silverlight/Web Service Serializing Interface for use Client Side

  I have a Silverlight solution that references a third-party web service. This web service generates XML, which is then processed into objects for use in Silverlight binding. At one point we the processing of XML to objects was done client-side, but we ran into performance issues and decided to move this processing to the proxies in the hosting web project to improve performance (which it did). This is obviously a gross over-simplification, but should work. My basic project structure looks like this. Solution Solution.Web - Holds the web page that hosts Silverlight as well as proxies that access web services and processes as required and obviously the references to those web services). Solution.Infrastructure - Holds references to the proxy web services in the .Web project, all genned code from serialized objects from those proxies and code around those objects that need to be client-side. Solution.Book - The particular project that uses the objects in question after processed down into Infrastructure. I've defined the following Interface and Class in the Web project. After discovering this, I thought "no problem, I'll create another partial class file reiterating the implmentation". Unfortunately (I'm guessing because it isn't being serialized), that interface isn't recognized in the Infrastructure project, so I can't simply do that. Here's where it gets really weird. The BOOK project CAN see the INavigable interface. In fact I use it in Book, though Book has no reference to the Web Service in the Web project where the thing is define, though Infrastructure does. Just as a test, I linked to the INavigable source file from indside the Infrastructure project. That allowed me to reference it in that project and compile, but causes havoc in the Book project, because now there's a conflick between the one define in Infrastructure and the one defined in the Web project's web service. This is behavior I would expect. So, to try and sum up a bit. Web project has a web service that process data from a third-party service and has a class and interface defined in it. The class implements the interface. The Infrastructure project references the web service in the Web Project and the Book project references the Infrastructure project. The implmentation of the interface in the class does NOT serialize down, so the auto-genned code in INfrastructure does not show this relationship, breaking code further down-stream. The Book project, whihc is further down-stream CAN see the interface as defined in the Web Project, even though its only reference is through the Infrastructure project; whihc CAN'T see it. Am I simple missing something easy here? Can I apply an attribute to either the Interface definition or to the its implmentation in the class to ensure its visibility downstream? Anything else I can do here? I know this is a bit convoluted and anyone still with me here, thanks for your patience and any advice you might have. Cheers, Steve

  I am using backport bluetooth api on android 1.6. I am using Google Bluetooth Chat sample app for testing. The app works fine in normal scenarios. In a scenario, when I try to connect to paired device which is in off state, I get following error. 01-04 09:00:11.629: ERROR/BluetoothEventLoop.cpp(84): onGetRemoteServiceChannelResult: D-Bus error: org.bluez.Error.ConnectionAttemptFailed (Host is down) 01-04 09:00:11.729: DEBUG/dalvikvm(128): GC freed 4535 objects / 256008 bytes in 296ms 01-04 09:00:21.880: ERROR/bluetooth_RfcommSocket.cpp(1433): connect error: Host is down (112) But it sets the state as connected. The app is unable to catch the exception. Why does it happen? Or is it the case with backport api? Any help is appreciated as I am struggling a lot to get things run fine.

  I have a dozen servers in different locations all running the same web service application but each going against their own SQL Server DB. I am writing a desktop application that consumes the web services. I want to present the user with a drop down of all servers in the network that are running the same wweb service application. Do I have to add a ServiceReference for each of the servers running the web service app and thereby having as many proxies as there are servers? Or can a define a single instance of the services and dynamically build a list of endpoints to select from a drop down?

• Small gaps in section headers with custom headers - iPhone / Objective-C

  Hi there! Since I wanted to use the standard section header with a different font size, I just made custom section headers by using an UIImageView with the standard section header as an image. It looks fine at first, but when I scroll the table, there are small gaps below and above the section headers: Since I am not allowed to post images or more than one hyperlink yet, I will have to provide you with one link to those images: Click me! Another thing to mention is, that the standard behaviour of non-custom section headers is, that they don't become transparent when I drag the table down (making the table offset < 0.0).   I'm working with a java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor to process a number of items in parallel. Although the threading itself works fine, at times we've run into other resource constraints due to actions happening in the threads, which made us want to dial down the number of Threads in the pool. I'd like to know if there's a way to dial down the number of the threads while the threads area actually working. I know that you can call setMaximumPoolSize() and/or setCorePoolSize(), but these only resize the pool once threads become idle, but they don't become idle until there are no tasks waiting in the queue.

• Log out of an SSH session into Erlang VM without stopping the VM or leaving stale processes

  I have an Erlang application running as a daemon, configured as an SSH server. I can connect to it with an SSH client and I get the standard Erlang REPL. If I 'q().' I shut down the Erlang VM, not the connection. If I close the connection ('~.' for OpenSSH, close the window in PuTTY) some processes remain under the sshd_sup/ssh_system_xx_sup tree. These appear to be stale shell processes. I do not see any exported function in the shell module that would let me shut down the shell (and therefore the SSH connection) without affecting the entire VM. How should I be logging out of the SSH session to not leave stale processes in the VM?

When I start it, it goes down correctly and then back up but then immediately shoots to the "final" position of the animation.
