Javascript: Link with Chinese characters in Internet Explorer

I have a problem with a link containing Chinese characters that is send to a javascript file in Internet Explorer. Generally that link is created by PHP and looks like this in IE: www.example.com/%E6%B7%AC%E7%81%AB%E6%B2%B9_ASIN5034CN.pdf In firefox it looks like this: www.example.com/???_ASIN5034CN.pdf Both work in that direct way. I need to pass that link to a javascript that popups on the page and it will be displayed after the user entered her/his contact information. This also works on firefox and other browsers but in IE that link is transfered to this which does not work anymore: www.example.com/æ·¬ç«æ²¹_ASIN5034CN.pdf I tried to do some encoding on it with encodeURIComponent but still no success. So the link is passed correctly to the javascript but it is totally screwed up only by IE. Thx for any advice on that problem.

XML over HTTP with JMS and Spring

I have a legacy HTTP server where I need to send an XML file over HTTP request (POST) using Java (not browser) and the server will respond with another XML in its HTTP response. It is similar to Web Service but there's no WSDL and I have to follow the existing XML structure to construct my XML to be sent. I have done a research and found an example that matches my requirement here. The example uses HttpClient from Apache Commons. (There are also other examples I found but they use java.net networking package (like URLConnection) which is tedious so I don't want to use them). But it's also my requirement to use Spring and JMS. I know from Spring's reference that it's possible to combine HttpClient, JMS and Spring. My question is, how? Note that it's NOT in my requirement to use HttpClient. If you have a better suggestion, I'm welcome. Appreciate it. haml / rails: yield title with german umlauts

Hi, I would like to do something like this in my application layout: %title= "#{yield(:sub_title)} - Page Name" and in a real view - content_for :sub_title do Übersicht # I tried Übersicht, != "Übersicht" and a bunch of other methods what happens is, I either get the black pound with the question mark in it - wrong encoding or the raw string (&UumI;bersicht). Does anyone know a way how to get this to work? Another requirement is that I'd like to show user generated content in the title and this content may or may not have umlauts in it. Used versions: Haml 3.0.11, Rails 3 beta4 and currently for development JRuby 1.5

Hi, i have a question about list views. I hope anyone knows the solution because i have been trying to solve this problem all the weekend. Well, i have a custom list view in which every row have a custom .xml (item_row.xml) with a set color background for the row item. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="70dip" android:orientation="vertical" android:background="@drawable/list_bg"> The problem is when i try to make a selector for the list. I want two things: When the item is focused, appears the typical orange rectangle over him. When the item is pressed the same. I have proved with a selector and a custom style but all i get is or the selector doesn't appear or the selector covering the item so i can't see it. If anyone can give me the right code i will be very grateful. Thanks

Replace a word in an XML file through StreamReader in XNA?

Okay, so this is sort of a hack...but it may have to be. I'm writing an app in XNA, which from my research into this problem apparently doesn't support XML version 1.1. I'm reading in the contents of an ePub document, and one of the newer books contains its content directory as a version 1.1 XML document. This causes my program to crash. However, the structure is the same as the rest, the only thing that should be keeping it from working is the hard-coded "1.0" in the XmlDocument class. Is it possible that I could read in the file from the stream, see if it contains: <?xml version="1.1" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> and simply replace it with "1.0"? Then I could pull it in as an XmlDocument. I'm not doing any writing to the file, or any complex structural reading, just looking for a few specific nodes, and pulling in the values, so I don't know what the ramifications of this would be.

using crypto++ on iphone sdk with pycrypto on app engine

Hi, I'm trying to encrypt http requests using crypto++ and decrypt them with pycrypto on the app engine server end. Using Arc4 encryption, I can successfully encrypt and decrypt on the iphone end but when I try decrypting on app engine, the result is garbled. I thought maybe it has something to do with the encoding of the NSString but am not certain. It's not clear to me if I need to call encode() on the cipher on the server end before decrypting, although that does seem to resolve a failure to decrypt involving ascii values. How to make Universal Feed Parser only parse feeds?

I'm trying to get content from external feeds on my Django web site with Universal Feed Parser. I want to have some user error handling, e.g. if the user supplies a URL that is not a feed. When I tried how feedparser responds to faulty input, I was surprised to see that feedparser does not throw any Exceptions at all. E.g. on HTML content, it tries to parse some information from the HTML code, and on non-existing domains, it returns a mostly empty dictionary: {'bozo': 1, 'bozo_exception': URLError(gaierror(-2, 'Name or service not known'),), 'encoding': 'utf-8', 'entries': [], 'feed': {}, 'version': None} Other faulty input manifest themselves in the status_code or the namespaces values in the returned dictionary. So, what's the best approach to have sane error checking without resorting to an endless cascade of if .. elif .. elif ...?

iPad Video Playback only delivers audio, not visuals.

Hi guys, Recently we've developed an iPhone app for an external company, and everything works fine in the app. There is a section where the app pulls video from the client's server, and streams it into the iPhone's MPMoviePlayerController. This works fine on the iPhone and iPodTouch - both the video and the audio show up just great. The problem, however, is that when the app is run on an iPad (using the iPad's iPhone simulator thingo that it does) only the audio plays, and no video can be seen. Does anybody have any suggestions about what may be causing this? I thought perhaps it was the encoding, but then why would this prevent the video from playing on the iPad, and not the iPhone?

My XML scripts work fine in the local swf. If I load an external swf, can I still retreive XML data from the same way, or do I have to declare the root somewhere? It's a general question. url encoded forward slashes breaking my codeigniter app

i’m trying to create a url string that works like this: /app/process/example.com/index.html so in other words, /app/process/$URL i then retrieve the url with $this->uri->segment(3); the forward slashes in the URL will of course be a problem accessing uri segments, so i’ll go ahead and url encode the URL portion: /app/process/example.com%2Findex.html .. but now I just get a 404 saying ... Not Found The requested URL /app/process/example.com/index.html was not found on this server. it appears that my url encoding of forward slashes breaks CI’s URI parser. what can i do to get around this problem?

Get String Instead of Source - Xcode Cocoa

Hello everyone, I have a program that will scan the contents of a website, and display it in a textbox. The problem is that it shows the html source. For example if my html code was: <html> <body> <p>Hello</p> </body> </html> instead of just showing hello, it'll show the code above... How can I get my objective c program to just read the hello, and not the html source.. I was assuming that it was the encoding when reading the website, but I might be possibly wrong.. I've got the latest Beta of Adobe Flash Builder 4. I want to use a <s:List> component, and specify the dataProvider as being an XML file. However, after loads of research (including looking at doc links off labs.adobe.com), I still can't figure out how to do it. Why acegi (Spring Security) converts password to uppercase before comparing ?

One of my colleague in QA team reported a bug to me, the bug said that can't change password to lowercase, otherwise login is rejected,using number or uppercase is all fine. The login system was implemented using acegi 1.0 (now called Spring Security). This was a very strange bug,changing password is done by encrypting the user input string into MD5 string, I implemented this without using anything related acegi, I don't if the is the origin cause of the problem. When the login is rejected, through debugging, I find that, the user input is converted into uppercase by acegi when passing to the acegi comparing logic. At first, I didn't believe this, when I checkout the acegi source and debugging with it, I find it does convert both username and password to uppercase (source code line 121), Can you tell me why it does this? This can cause password encoding mismatch!

Parse text/html part of email source using Javascript

Using javascript, I need to parse the Content-Type text/html portion of an email message and extract just the HTML part. Here's an example of the part of the mail source in question: ------=_Part_1504541_510475628.1327512846983 Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit <html ... a bunch of html ... /html> I want to extract everything between (and including) the <html> tags after text/html. How do I do this? NOTE: I'm OK with a hacky regex. I don't expect this to be bulletproof.
