Sending binary data from ASP to .net component

The ASP application allows uploading of image files (jpg, gif, tif). These files are sent to a .net component registered in the GAC of the server. In the component file is encoded using System.Text.Unicode to byte[] array. This encoding is done with some data loss. The byte array has values 253 and 255 in consequetive elements. What could be the problem ? I'm sending the binary data as a string. Please help me... Thanks in advance, John

I want to emulate a HTTP POST using application/x-www-form-urlencoded encoding to send a option group that allows multiple selections. <select name="groups" multiple="multiple" size="4"> <option value="2">Administration</option> <option value="1">General</option> </select> Does adding 2 NameValuePairs (NVP) with the same name work ? My serverside log shows that only the first NVP was received. e.g PostMethod method = ...; NameValuePair[] nvpairs = { new NameValuePair( "groups", "2" ); new NameValuePair( "groups", "1" ); }; method.addParameter( nvpairs ); Only the groups=1 parameter was received. Has anyone been able to successfully implement a service to serve the required socket policy file to FlashPlayer? Google Gadgets and external scripts

I'm trying to create my first custom Google Gadget to be used privately in my company's Google Sites intranet. Ideally I'd like to just show a thumbnail that the user can click that will open a modal window with the full video. This requires my including a couple of small JS libraries in my widget. For my widget I created this XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Module> <ModulePrefs title="Video Demos" /> <Content view="url" href="http://www.website.com/_gadgets/video.php"> </Content> </Module> The "video.php" page has simple HTML on it and includes two JS files for the modal window using but doesn't work. Are you not able to include external scripts like this? If not, what are my options here?

Hi, I have the following xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <c1> <c2 id="0001" n="CM" urlget="/at/CsM" urle="/E/login.jsp"> </c2> <c2 id="0002" n="C2M" urlget="/a2t/CsM" urle="/E2/login.jsp"> </c2> </c1> I'm trying to load c2's attributes this way: Document d = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance() .newDocumentBuilder() .parse("epxy.xml"); Element c1 = d.getDocumentElement(); Element c2 = (Element)c1.getFirstChild(); while (c2 != null) { ... c2 = (Element)c2.getNextSibling(); } But I get the exception java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.xerces.dom.DeferredTextImpl incompatible with org.w3c.dom.Element in the line Element c2 = (Element)c1.getFirstChild(); before the loop. Any hints ? Thanks.

Copied App.config to (Assembly).exe.config but from folder debug application doesn't run

Video playback on VideoView disappears after going back from another Activity

I have two Activities: one with VideoView and the second one. I start watching a video in the first Activity, then during playback I start second Activity. After going back to first Activity I can hear sound but see no picture. text view not wrapping

I just tried a sample of retrieving and passing it to a textview. I am having some trouble wrapping my textview. The bottom part is not completely shown. Problem using PHP to open text file - blank spaces are removed

Hi All, I'm trying to open and process ASCII files using PHP, but am having problems. The problem is that the blank spaces are removed, which I don't want to have happen, since the files are fixed width. The PHP script I used is this: $myFile = Test.SEG"; $file_handler = fopen ($myFile, r) or die ("Can't open SEG File."); while (!feof($file_handler)) { $dataline = fgets($file_handler); echo $dataline, ""; } I tried pasting samples of the original file in here, but the spaces were removed here as well! At this stage I'm just building the script in steps, getting one step working at a time, but this is as far as I've gotten. I plan to use substr() on '$dataline' to pick out the fields I need. Any suggestions on how to keep the spaces intact? Something tells me it's something to do with encoding, but I don't know for sure. Thanks!

What are the ways to do synchronized streaming video and text?

I would like to have two streams. One being traditional streaming video and another being text. I will also build an interface that allows the user to create the text portion while watching the video. The context of these videos are usually that of an individual being filmed doing a presentation and later the next day for example, a coach will make text annotations (structured data is a plus) with the result being the text stream. It seems this is possible with Silverlight (see the article in the latest MSDN). However, what other methods are there if any? If there any, please give the reasons for why you are recommending them. Thanks. Also, I would prefer something that inst a software as a service hosted solution, but, dont let that keep you from giving an answer. Also keep in mind, the user shouldn't have to do any re-encoding of the video source, the text stream should be separate with someway to synchronize a coach's comments to an arbitrary time stamp in the video.

Best Approach to process images in Django

I've have an application with Android front end and Django as the back end. As part of the answers here, I'm confused over the approach which I should take to send images to Django Server. I've 2 options at my disposal as Piro pointed out there. 1) Sending images as Multi Part entity 2) Send image as a String after encoding it using Base 64. So I am considering the approach that would make it easy to be processed by Django. The images are small in size (<200kb) and number (<10). Any suggestions or pointers are most welcome.

Read entire file in Scala?

What's a simple and canonical way to read an entire file into memory in Scala? (Ideally, with control over character encoding.) The best I can come up with is: scala.io.Source.fromPath("file.txt").getLines.reduceLeft(_+_) or am I supposed to use one of Java's god-awful idioms, the best of which (without using an external library) seems to be: import java.util.Scanner import java.io.File new Scanner(new File("file.txt")).useDelimiter("\\Z").next() From reading mailing list discussions, it's not clear to me that scala.io.Source is even supposed to be the canonical I/O library. I don't understand what its intended purpose is, exactly. ... I'd like something dead-simple and easy to remember. For example, in these languages it's very hard to forget the idiom ... Hi all , I urgently need your help . I am new to consuming a web service using SOAP protocol. I have been given a demo webservice URL which ends in .WSDL and NOT .asml?WSDL. The problem is I cannot add a web reference using Visual studio OR Disco.exe or Wsdl.exe - This webservice has been created on a java platform and for security reasons the only way to make a invoke the webservice is at runtime using SOAP protocol IN asp.net (VB). using document() function in .NET XSLT generates error

I'd like to use embedded resources in my XSLT file, but while invoking 'document(...)' C# complains that "Error during loading document ..." I'd like to use defined resources in XSLT file and get them by this: "document('')//my:resources/"... Create custom component which contains Combobox and Datagrid. Application conations two button 1) Same Window and 2) New Window. (Label of two button) When you click on “Same Window” button your custom component should get added dynamically in your application. And when you click on “New Window” button your custom component should get open in different window (it should get shifted from application and should appear in Window component). Issue faced:- Clicking on Combobox, list is not getting open as change event doesn’t get fired in Native Window as it looses reference from main application. Issue with DataGrid in Native window (AIR). • DataGridEvent.COLUMN_STRETCH event get affected if try to open datagrid in Native Window. • DataGridEvent get fired but takes long time or even stuck while column stretch Note: Application is an Desktop Application. Only one instance is created in Application for your custom component to preserve current state on your custom component it can be Style, data, or other subcomponent state of your custom component (as above mentioned 2 component are just sample).
