• Eclipse c++ with mingw comiler cant build boost regex example, can find .a library files

  Hi, I'm trying to build the boost regex example in eclipse using mingw on vista. I built boost ok with mingw as there are library files XXXX.a. I could build/compile the first boost example that doesnt require any of the compiled boost libraries. When I compile the regex example I get a linker error saying it cant find the library file. I have tried various libray file names eg leave off the .a extension, leave off the lib prefix etc. Now the interesting thing is that if I leave off the library extension and rename the library file to XXX.lib it works and runs ok. So why cant it read the .a library file? It must be my setup somewhere but I dont know where or what to set. From what I read everyone is ok linking the .a file except me :( Thanks in advance, Kim

• Use jQuery to find div by background color

  I'm trying to use jQuery to find the number of divs that are both visible, and have a background color of Green. • TextMate can't find my RSpec gem in opt (from macports)

  I know I've had this problem before so I'm really frustrated. Why isn't it finding it? In Preferences Advanced Shell Variables my TM_RUBY is set to /opt/local/bin/ruby.   I need a "find nearest location" on our website. Where visitor enters their zip/postal code, then they are redirected to specific webpage for our nearest location. We have forty USA and Canada locations. How can I build something like this? Could I do this with the Google Maps API? I already have a custom map on Google Maps. It's plotted with our locations. It would be nice to send Google Maps a command to say "what's our nearest location at __ zip code". Any suggestions?

  I'm trying to use Shark to determine which method(s) are taking the most time in my iPhone app. After sampling, I get this: Clicking the "!" button yields: Shark was unable to find symbol information for this address range. Typically this happens because the application was compiled without symbols or they have been subsequently stripped away. In Xcode, make sure the "Generate Debug Symbols" checkbox is selected (passes the -g flag to the compiler). Note that this does not affect code optimization, and does not typically alter performance significantly. However, the extra symbol information does consume significantly more space and may bloat the size of the executable. But I AM using the Debug option, and I am running on my Device. And Generate Debug Symbols IS checked. So what's wrong?

  Hello everyone, I'm looking for a way to determine if the user switches virtual desktops under X11. I'm using Python with X11 libraries and PyGTK. I found some working examples in C, but I lack the expertise to translate them into Python, and I read the source code of several X11 pager applications (fbpanel, pypanel), but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Do I have to register for a signal? Using X11 or GTK? Do I have to busy-wait? I'm completely new to both X11 and GTK, so any hints/help would be greatly appreciated.   Hello: I have downloaded the latest GLUI source code and now I am trying to compile it. When I do so, I get the following error: g++ -O0 -Wall -pedantic -I./ -I./include -I/usr/X11R6/include -o bin/example1 example/example1.cpp -L./lib -lglui -L/usr/X11R6/lib/libXdmcp.a -lglut -lGLU -lGL -lXmu -lXext -lX11 -lXi -lm /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXmu collect2: ld returned 1 exit status When I did a locate libXmu, I get the following output: > %:~/src/GLUI/src$ locate libXmu > /usr/lib/libXmu.so.6 > /usr/lib/libXmu.so.6.2.0 > /usr/lib/libXmuu.so.1 > /usr/lib/libXmuu.so.1.0.0 Do I get the error because I don't have a /usr/lib/libXmu.so? If this is the case, how can I make one? (I am not experienced with linking at all). Thanks!

  Does anybody know how to find offending web part which causes this error ? “A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Web Part Page cannot be displayed or imported because it is not registered on this site as safe.” I have inherited an old SharePoint 2003 portal site which uses custom web parts. I know what this error means. I also know that each web part must be installed and registred as safe in web.config. The problem is that I don't know which one is missing. I get same error when I'm trying to open the page in FrontPage as well.

  Hello I don't know enough about VB.Net (2008, Express Edition) yet, so I wanted to ask if there were a better way to find files with different names but the same contents, ie. duplicates. In the following code, I use GetFiles() to retrieve all the files in a given directory, and for each file, use MD5 to hash its contents, check if this value already lives in a dictionary: If yes, it's a duplicate and I'll delete it; If not, I add this filename/hashvalue into the dictionary for later: 'Get all files from directory Dim currfile As String For Each currfile In Directory.GetFiles("C:\MyFiles\", "File.*") 'Check if hashing already found as value, ie. duplicate If StoreItem.ContainsValue(ReadFileMD5(currfile)) Then 'Delete duplicate 'This hashing not yet found in dictionary -> add it Else StoreItem.Add(currfile, ReadFileMD5(currfile)) End If Next Is this a good way to solve the issue of finding duplicates, or is there a better way I should know about?   Hi! I'm running Tomcat inside of Netbeans. I added Tomcat server(not bundled with Netbeans) to Servers in Netbeans. But, when i'm trying to run Tomcat, it starts(i can visit Tomcat home page), but Netbeans can't find it running. Where is the problem? No stacktrace in Tomcat. When i'm deploying my project`s war in this Tomcat manually, everything works, but i need to deploy it automatically from Netbeans. Configuration: Netbeans 6.8 + Tomcat 6.0.26 + JSF and Hibernate project.

  Hi, I have a small contest problem in which is given a set of points, in 2D, that form a triangle. This triangle may be subject to an arbitrary rotation, may be subject to an arbitrary translation (both in the 2D plane) and may be subject to a reflection on a mirror, but its dimensions were kept unchanged. Then, they give me a set of points in the plane, and I have to find 3 points that form my triangle after one or more of those geometric operations. Example: 5 15 8 5 20 10 6 5 17 5 20 20 5 10 5 15 20 15 10 I bet that have to apply some known algorithm, but I don't know which. The most common are: convex hull, sweep plane, triangulation, etc. Can someone give a tip? I don't need the code, only a push, please!

  Ok, I am like other and new to jUnit and having a difficult time trying to get it working. I have searched the forum but the answers provided; I am just not getting. If anyone out there could lend me a hand I would greatly appreciate it. Let me provide the basics: OS: mac OS X.6 export JUNIT_HOME="/Developer/junit/junit4.8.1" export CVSROOT="/opt/cvsroot" export PATH="/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/localmysql/bin:/opt/PalmSDK/Current/bin/:/usr/local/mysql/bin:$PATH:$JUNIT_HOME:$CVSROOT" export CLASSPATH="$CLASSPATH:$JUNIT_HOME/junit-4.8.1.jar:$JUNIT_HOME" I can compile a test class from a java file, however when I try to then run the test java org.junit.runner.JUnitCore MyTest.class I get the following: JUnit version 4.8.1 Could not find class: MyTest.class Time: 0.001 OK (0 tests) Now I have been in the directory with the MyTest.class which is just somewhere in my file system, I tried moving the source folder to the "junit" folder and the "junit/junit4.8.1" folder and the same result. • Assistance using respond_to to find the right actions to render PDF in ruby on rails

  Hi, I am trying out Prince with the Princely plugin, which is supposed to format templates that have the .pdf into a PDF generator. Here is my controller: class TodoController < ApplicationController def show_date @date = Date.today @campaigns = Campaign.all @contacts = Contact.all @contacts.each do |contact| end respond_to do |format| format.html format.pdf do render :pdf => "filename", :stylesheets => ["application", "prince"], :layout => "pdf" end end end end I changed the routes.db to include the following: map.connect ':controller/:action.:format' map.todo "todo/today", :controller => "todo", :action => "show_date" My expected behavior is when I enter todo/today.pdf, it tries to execute show_date, but renders according to the princely plugin. Right now, it says cannot find action. What do I need to do to fix this?

  I am working on a large project, and one of my tasks is to remove possible memory leaks. In my code, I have noticed several IDisposable items not being disposed of, and have fixed that. However, that leads me to a more basic question, how do I find all classes used in my project that implement IDisposable? (Not custom created classes by normal Library classes). I have already found one less-than-obvious class that implements IDisposable ( DataTable implements MarshalByValueComponent, which inherits IDisposable). Right now, I am manually checking any suspected classes by using MSDN, but isn't there some way through which I can automate this process?
