  • Possible typos in ECMAScript 5 specification?

    Does anybody know why, at the end of section 7.6 of the ECMA-262, 5th Edition specification, the nonterminals UnicodeLetter, UnicodeCombiningMark, UnicodeDigit, UnicodeconnectorPunctuation, and UnicodeEscapeSequence are not followed by two colons? From section 5.1.6: Nonterminal symbols are shown in italic type. The definition of a nonterminal is introduced by the name of the nonterminal being defined followed by one or more colons. (The number of colons indicates to which grammar the production belongs.) Since lexical productions are distinguished by having two colons, and this is under "Lexical Conventions", I'm assuming that they meant to put the colons in. Does that sound right? Just making sure that these really are nonterminals and they really are part of the lexical grammar. EDIT: I noticed there have been votes to close this. Just to make my case about why this is programming-related, it is relevant to anyone wanting to implement an ECMAScript interpreter.

  • Viewing Code Coverage Results outside of Visual studio

    I've got some unit tests, and got some code coverage data. Now, I'd like to be able to view that code coverage data outside of visual studio, say in a web browser. But, when I export the code coverage to an xml file, I can't do anything with it. Are there readers out there for this? Do I have to write an xml parser and then display it how I want it (seems like a waste since visual studio already does this.) Seems kinda silly to have to take a screenshot of my code coverage results as my "report" Suggestions?

So, every individual belongs to a group, and has answered some questions. These questions are always grouped in keys and subkeys. Is there any simple method to calculate averages, deviations and similar based on the groupings. Something like public float getAverage(int key, int individual); float avg = getAverage(5,7); I think what I'm asking is what would be the best way to structure the data in C# to make it as easy as possible to work with? I have started making classes for every entity, but I got confused somewhere and something stopped working. So before I continue along this path, I was wondering if there are any other, better, ways of doing this? (Every individual can also have describing variables, like agegroup and such, but that's not important for the base functionality.) Our current solution does all calculations inline in the queries when requesting the data from the database. This works, but it's slow and the number of queries equals questions * individuals + keys * individuals, which could be alot if individual queries. Any suggestions?

    I've searched the site and I cannot find a solution for my problem, so apologies if it's already been answered (I'm sure someone must have asked this before). I have written a jQuery Popup window that I've packaged up as a WebControl and IScriptControl. The last step is to be able to write the markup within the tags of my control. I've used the InnerProperty attribute a few times, but only for including lists of strongly typed classes.     This is a follow up of this question: Remove accents from a JSON response. The accepted answer there works for a single item/string of a raw JSON content. But I would like to run a full transformation over the entire raw content of the JSON without parsing each object/array/item. What I've tried is this function removeAccents($jsoncontent) { $obj=json_decode($jsoncontent); // use decode to transform the unicode chars to utf $content=serialize($obj); // serialize into string, so the whole obj structure can be used string as a whole $a = 'ÀÁÂÃÄÅÆÇÈÉÊËÌÍÎÏÐÑÒÓÔÕÖØÙÚÛÜÝÞßàáâãäåæçèéêëìíîïðñòóôõöøùúûýýþÿRr'; $b = 'aaaaaaaceeeeiiiidnoooooouuuuybsaaaaaaaceeeeiiiidnoooooouuuyybyRr'; $content=utf8_decode($content); $jsoncontent = strtr($content, $a, $b); // at this point the accents are removed, and everything is good echo $jsoncontent; $obj=unserialize($jsoncontent); // this unserialization is returning false, probably because we messed up with the serialized string return json_encode($obj); } As you see after I decoded JSON content, I serialized the object to have a string of it, than I remove the accents from that string, but this way I have problem building back the object, as the unserialize stuff returns false. How can I fix this?

    this seems to be a reoccurring issue: we receive a bug report for our software and with it tons of traces or logfiles. since finding errors is much easier when having a visualization of the log messages/events over time it is convenient to use a tool that can display the progression of events in a graph etc. (e.g. wireshark (http://www.wireshark.org) for analyzing network traffic) what tool do you use for such a purpose? the problem with most tools i used so far is that they mercilessly break down when you feed them huge data traces ( 1GB) so some criteria for such a tool would be: can deal with huge input files ( 1 GB) is really fast (so you don't have to get coffee while a file is loading) has some sort of filtering mechanism

    I have a series of text items- raw HTML from a MYSQL database. I want to find the most common phrases in these entries (not the single most common phrase, and ideally, not enforcing word-for-word matching). My example is any review on Yelp.com, that shows 3 snippets from hundreds of reviews of a given restaurant, in the format: "Try the hamburger" (in 44 reviews) e.g., the "Review Highlights" section of this page: http://www.yelp.com/biz/sushi-gen-los-angeles/ I have NLTK installed and I've played around with it a bit, but am honestly overwhelmed by the options. This seems like a rather common problem and I haven't been able to find a straightforward solution by searching here. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • SSAS 2008/Excel 2007 - Can't see cube

    I have created a cube in SSAS 2008. In BIDS and SSMS I can see it fine. However, I cannot connect through Excel. I have tried both Excel 2003 and Excel 2007. I must support both and neither work. I can see the database but the cubes do not show up. I created a dummy cube in the project using the wizard and deployed that to the same database. In Excel 2003, I can see and connect to the dummy cube. Excel 2007 can't even find the server/instance after adding this cube. I have used another computer and received the same results with Excel 2003. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for any help you can give me. -Brian

I'd like this functionality for other languages as well, apart from the basics that Doxygen supports (C++, C, Java, Objective-C, Python, VHDL, PHP, C#). I'm currently looking for tools that support JavaScript, ActionScript 2 and ActionScript 3/Flex. I'm also interested in tools that have a wider language support than Doxygen. I start with extract the image's RGB values, form a matrix of array and then attempt to compress the values using PCA, and then match/recognize it with a pre-set data to find its similarity. But I can't proceed with the PCA part.   • Can I get build warnings from a custom build step in Qt Creator?

    I have the following script that I run as a custom build step in Qt Creator: git ls-files . | egrep "\.cpp$|\.h$" | xargs vera++ Which then gives output: foo/bar.cpp:1: no copyright notice found Another script I also use is: cppcheck . --template gcc -q --enable=style,unusedFunctions With the output: apple.h:8: style: The class 'MyPie' has no constructor. Member variables not initialized. I would love to double-click on the error and go to the source in the Compile Output window. It seems that only gcc errors are detected and these custom ones are ignored even though they have the same format.

    I recently used Adobe Acrobat Pro's OCR feature to process a Japanese kanji dictionary. The overall quality of the output is generally quite a bit better than I'd hoped, but word boundaries in the English portions of the text have often been lost. For example, here's one line from my file: softening;weakening(ofthemarket)8 CHANGE [transform] oneselfINTO,takethe form of; disguise oneself I could go around and insert the missing word boundaries everywhere, but this would be adding to what is already a substantial task. I'm hoping that there might exist software which can analyze text like this, where some of the words run together, and split the text on probable word boundaries. Is there such a package? I'm using Emacs, so it'd be extra-sweet if the package in question were already an Emacs package or could be readily integrated into Emacs, so that I could simply put my cursor on a line like the above and repeatedly invoke some command that splits the line on word boundaries in decreasing order of probable correctness.

(I've also looked into the Django source, and I have been unable to find the implementation of objects, so I suspect it is not "just" a class field. Edit: The only way I've found to tell pylint to not warn about these warnings is by blocking all errors of the type (E1101) which is not an acceptable solution, since that is (in my opinion) an extremely useful error. If there is another way, without augmenting the pylint source, please point me to specifics :) See here for a summary of the problems I've had with pychecker and pyflakes -- they've proven to be far to unstable for general use. (In pychecker's case, the crashes originated in the pychecker code -- not source it was loading/invoking.)

  • Preventing multiple reporting of the same rule violation in FxCop -- What is Id?

    FxCop is currently reporting the same rule violation for a particular method -- it has two out parameters, because I want to return two values to the caller without creating a struct for it. I wonder if anonymous types would solve my problem, but I didn't know about them at the time I had written the method. Anyhow, I'm getting CheckId CA1021 reported once for each parameter. I've copied the SuppressMessage text from FxCop, and then realized that the Id for each message is different! To me, it seems like you only need the CheckId, so... what is the Id used for? I haven't been able to find information about it online. will the Id remain the same? I assume so, or SuppressMessage wouldn't work the way one would want it to is there a way to specify the SuppressMessage attribute so that it suppresses for all Ids?

The following results (to calculate the start and end points of the line) appear incorrect. Why are the results off by ~10 degrees (e.g., outliers skewing the data)? (1900 * 0.0276653965651912) + (-57.2338357550468) = -4.66958228 (2009 * 0.0276653965651912) + (-57.2338357550468) = -1.65405406 I would have expected the 1900 result to be around 10 (not -4.67) and the 2009 result to be around 11.50 (not -1.65).
