  I installed 12.04 in my system. While trying to install Chromium, I get the following error: Package dependencies cannot be resolved This error could be caused by required additional software packages which are missing or not installable. Furthermore there could be a conflict between software packages which are not allowed to be installed at the same time. The following packages have unmet dependencies: chromium-browser: Depends: libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1) but 1:4.6.3-1ubuntu5 is to be installed Depends: libudev0 (>= 147) but 175-0ubuntu9 is to be installed Depends: libxss1 but it is not going to be installed Depends: zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg) but 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3ubuntu4 is to be installed Depends: libnss3-1d (>= 3.12.3) but it is not going to be installed Can any one solve the issue please?

• Anti-cheat Javascript for browser/HTML5 game

  I'm planning on venturing on making a single player action rpg in js/html5, and I'd like to prevent cheating. I don't need 100% protection, since it's not going to be a multiplayer game, but I want some level of protection. So what strategies you suggest beyond minify and obfuscation? I wouldn't bother to make some server side simple checking, but I don't want to go the Diablo 3 path keeping all my game state changes on the server side. Since it's going to be a rpg of sorts I came up with the idea of making a stats inspector that checks abrupt changes in their values, but I'm not sure how it consistent and trusty it can be. What about variables and functions escopes? Working on smaller escopes whenever possible is safer, but it's worth the effort? Is there anyway for the javascript to self inspect it's text, like in a checksum? There are browser specific solutions? I wouldn't bother to restrain it for Chrome only in the early builds.

• Is wordpress a good platform for webapp development?

  I am planning a webapp to control bank paying orders. In a quick review, the user goes online and creates a payment order. This order goes to other people that pays it and register the payment on the system. The system keeps track of all the payments, keeping the account balance up-to-date. The system needs a login system, bank integration, and to support at some point thousands of clients. We can find articles on the web about the benefits of using wordpress platform to build webapps. However, I could not find discussion with counterarguments to user wordpress. As the platform the most important choice in webapp project, I would to know more about the pitfalls and harms for choosing wordpress. The question is: What are the benefits and harms for choosing wordpress as a development platform for a webapp that need to be integrated with other system (backend systems) and to handle thousands of users (does it scale up?)?

• How to handle concurrent web requests

  I am having a simple webservice running in my local system, hosted in IIS 6.0. This webservice is accessible from any other system (within LAN and Internet) and everything works fine as long as the number of systems accessing my webservice is very much limited. Whereas, if more number of users (say 500) are concurrently trying to access my webservice, an exception is thrown saying 'Server is busy'. When i browsed in net, i found that IIS can handle only 100-150 web requests concurrently. What should i do to make my webservice accessible from more than 500 users, concurrently? Thanks in advance. • Calculation with RESTful web service with MySQL database

  I am now making some RESTful web services with MySQL database. I used NetBeans to create the resources of RESTful service with MySQL, and now I can now use GET and POST/PUT to list and add/modify data entities in the MySQL server. Currently, I wish to make some calculations right after a client makes the POST activities, then the posted data with calculated results will be inserted into the MySQL database. I am very new to this, I guess I need to add some functions and call them to calculate but I don't know where and how to do that : ( Could any one help me on this issue? Thanks a lot in advance! : )

  I have a web application, which works fine if I include my user controls with <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" TagName="MyUC1" Src="~/UserControls/MyUc1.ascx" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" TagName="MyUC2" Src="~/UserControls/MyUc2.ascx" %> But I need to use the namespace due to needing to integrate with Umbraco. When I replace the register declaration with: <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" Namespace="MyAssembly.UserControls" Assembly="MyAssembly"%> I get a null reference exception in the UserControl's Page_Load event (which references an ASP.NET control which is used by the UserControl itself. I find this pretty bizarre, but I've found very little information on how to fix it.

• Client Web Service call over SSL using Apache Axis

  I'm using Apache Axis 1.5.1 to code a web service client connecting to a service over SSL. My application is running in Tomcat with SSL configuration setup in JKS. However, when I connect to the server, the connection is failing because the cert from our client is not being sent to the server. Is this something that has to be set in the client through code?   I can run my Asp.Net MVC 2 application without an issue on my local computer. Just Run / Debug. But if I have already built it, I can't publish it! I have to clean the solution and publish it again. I know this is not system critical, but it's really annoying. "One Click Publish" is not "Clean solution and then One click publish" The exact error is as follows: Error 11 It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. I suspect it's something to do with the Web.Config in the Views folder, but then why only after I build once previously. And just to note, the app works fine once published.

• sharing web user controls across projects.

  I've done this using a regular .cs file that just extends System.Web.UI.UserControl and then included the assembly of the project that contains the control into other projects. I've also created .ascx files in one project then copied all ascx files from a specified folder in the properties-Build Events-Pre-build event. Now what I want to do is a combination of those two: I want to be able to use ascx files that I build in one project, in all of my other projects but I want to include them just using assembly references rather than having to copy them to my "secondary" projects as that seems a ghetto way to accomplish what I want to do. It works yes, but it's not very elegant. Can anyone let me know if this even possible, and if so, what the best way to approach this is?

  I am making a restrictive portal to a WiFi network using symfony, and I want to send a form as web service to other sites that want to use this portal. How should I solve this? I realize I could go the SOAP/WSDL route, but since symfony is already RESTful, it seems to me I could go the RESTful route with considerably less pain and loss of performance. Right now, I have a working form, but I've only made a casual attempt to bring the form to a remote site by using cURL. The form does not work remotely since the routing is not set up correctly (I think). Can someone help me with this? Thanks.

  My team and I are in the middle of developing an application which needs to be able to handle pretty heavy traffic. Not facebook level but in the future I would like to be able to scale to that without massive code re-writes. My thought was to modularise out everything into seperate services with their own interfaces. So for example messaging would have a messaging interface that might have send and getMessages() as methods and then the PHP web app would simply query this interface through soap or curl or something like that. The messaging application could then be any kind of application so a Java application or Python or whatever was suitable for that particular functionality with its own seperate database shard. Is this a good approach?

  Looking for some SEO (Search engine optimization) questions on Stackoverflow, I saw ambivalent reactions to these questions. Some were closed as "not programming related" or were downvoted, others were answered and got upvoted. It seems that many developers think SEO was something "dirty" or belonged in the realm of spam. IMHO designing for search engines and practising SEO techniques adds important value to the final product like, for example, a good user interface.
