I have these lines to redirect non-www to www in htaccess file of my website: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.example\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/$1 [L,R=301] but it cause this error in firefox: The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies. when I comment those lines in htaccess mysite appears but in non-www format. I'm sure it works well before on the Ubuntu . but I don't know why it doesn't work now. would you help me?

  • Will having multiple domains improve my seo?

    Lets say I have a domain already, for example www.automobile4u.com (not mine), with a website fully running and all. The title of my "Website" says: <title>Used cars - buy and sell your used cars here</title> Also, lets say I have fully SEO the website so when people searching for the term buy used cars, I end up on the second or first page. Now, I want to end up higher, so I go to the google adwords page where you can check how many searches are made on specific terms. Lets say the term "used cars" has 20 million searches each month. Here comes the question, could I just go and buy that domain with the search terms adress, in this case www.usedcars.com and make a redirect to my original page, and this way when people search for "used cars", my newly bought domain name comes up redirecting people to my original website (www.automobile4u.com)? The reason I believe this benefits me is because it seems search engines first of all check website adresses matching the search, so the query "used cars" would automatically bring www.usedcars.com to the first result right? What are the downsides for this? I already know about google spiders not liking redirects, but there are many methods of redirecting... Is this a good idea generally?

  • IIS: redirect everything to another URL, except for one Directory

    I have an IIS server (IIS 6, Win 2003) that hosts the site http://www.foo.com. I want any request to http://foo.com (no matter what path/filename is used) to redirect to http://www.bar.org/AwesomePage.html UNLESS the request is for http://www.foo.com/specialdir, in which case the HTML files in the local directory specialdir should be used. The problem I have is once the redirect is set it also affects /specialdir - even if I right click on that directory and select "content should come from ... local directory" that change does not take effect, and the directory still shows as redirecting to http://www.bar.org/AwesomePage.html. The same thing happens if I try to set individual files to load from the local system instead of redirecting - IIS gives no error, but the change does not take effect and the files still show as being redirected. How can I set specialdir to override the redirection to the new URL?

  • Apache 2.4 subdomain setup fails

    I am struggling with this all the day, no answer i found here as well. Please advice how to setup proper a subdomain i need. My Apache config has 2 domains configured (on same IP), for the domain2.com i need to setup a sub-domain. Here is what i have so far, but the subdomain keeps redirecting me to domain2.com (main site). <VirtualHost 11.11.11.11:80> ServerName domain1.com ServerAlias domain1.com *.domain1.com DocumentRoot "C:/wwwmap/domain1.com" </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 11.11.11.11:80> ServerName domain2.com ServerAlias domain2.com *.domain2.com DocumentRoot "C:/wwwmap/domain2.com" </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 46.4.24.4:80> ServerName projects.domain2.com DocumentRoot "C:/wwwmap/projects" </VirtualHost> The DNS entry is: projects in CNAME domain2.com Trying to remove ServerAlias domain2.com *.domain2.com worked so far, but then domain2.com is redirecting to domain1.com What am i doing wrong?

    Are there any decent examples of the following available: Looking through the WIF SDK, there are examples of using WIF in conjunction with ASP.NET using the WSFederationAuthenticationModule (FAM) to redirect to an ASP.NET site thin skin on top of a Security Token Service (STS) that user uses to authenticate (via supplying a username and password). If I understand WIF and claims-based access correctly, I would like my application to provide its own login screen where users provide their username and password and let this delegate to an STS for authentication, sending the login details to an endpoint via a security standard (WS-*), and expecting a SAML token to be returned. Ideally, the SessionAuthenticationModule would work as per the examples using FAM in conjunction with SessionAuthenticationModule i.e. be responsible for reconstructing the IClaimsPrincipal from the session security chunked cookie and redirecting to my application login page when the security session expires. Is what I describe possible using FAM and SessionAuthenticationModule with appropriate web.config settings, or do I need to think about writing a HttpModule myself to handle this? Alternatively, is redirecting to a thin web site STS where users log in the de facto approach in a passive requestor scenario?

  • Implementing a pager for asp.net's DataList/Repeater

    I have a DataList showing the results, and a Repeater that is supposed to be the pager. I decided to use the page number by redirecting with a QueryString parameter, so it will also be bookmarkable ... My problem is mainly in the UI actually. If I put DIV's with their onclick calling a JS function that does window.location = url + pagenumber , then somehow I have to deal with QueryString operations via JS which is a bit messy. If I use LinkButton objects within the ItemTemplate, then the Redirecting happens only when the linkbutton is clicked while whole div has cursor: pointer , you what I mean. What would be the best approach to this? Thanks in advance. Note: I really want to spend the time and effort implementing my own server-side paging. I think its more fun than reading 3rd party manuals.

    Hi, I have been working in Oracle iStore from past 4 months and i have been managing the application without any IDE (basically doing all the chores on notepad only because application has been designed poorly and no IDE can support it). Since the coding is done on simple notepad files it is very hard to find out the bugs in the application. I am facing a problem that i have not idea which jsp page redirect the control to which jsp page. For instance, there are two jsp pages A.jsp and other is B.jsp. Now the browser is currently displaying A.jsp. When the user click on submit button (available on A.jsp) the form submits and redirects the control to B.jsp. Now my problem is that i know i am coming on B.jsp but, i don't know that A.jsp is redirecting the control to B.jsp. Is there an method available in Servlet API which tells Which jsp is redirecting the control to B.jsp?     I have configured WordPress to display a static front page as described here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_Reading_SubPanel#Reading_Settings When save changes and try to visit my front page, my browser displays the following error: "The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." Disabling cookies does not remedy the situation. I'm using the theme, Constructor (http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/constructor), which I suspect may be contributing to the problem. How can I make WordPress properly display my front page?

    I am trying to redirect a blog page to a newly updated page. The old entry is gone, but it is indexed in Google, and other people have links to it. I get this error: "The page isn't redirecting properly" "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." The (deleted) link looks like this: "http://mysite.com/blog/?p=158" I want to redirect that to "http://mysite.com/blog/?p=194" I used CPANEL to do a permanent (301) redirect. (I have other redirects working.) I gues the ? is causing a problem. How do I fix it so the page redirects? (Please give instructions for CPANEL - the server has Frontpage extensions, and I don't bother with re-researching how to do it manually - the multiple files that need updated.)

Now I've read about doing this in C#, but I wondered if this was possible in cmd/batch - and if it is what are its limitations/use. If it is not possible in cmd how would I go about using this, and could it be a soloution to outputing data to the screen and redirecting it to a file at the same time (a problem which has not been able to be done legitametly at the same time). For some reason it adds "?file_name=example-001.php" to the url. Anyone know's why this is happening and how to fix this?

    Hi, I have this PHP piece of code that gets $_GET['id'] (a number) and do some stuff with this. When its finished I need to increase that number ($_GET['id']) and redirect to the same page but with the new number (also using $_GET['id']). I am doing something like this: $ID = $_GET['id']; // Some stuff here // and then: $newID = $ID++; header('Location: http://localhost/something/something.php?id='.$newID); exit; The problem here is that the browser stop me from doing it and I get this error from the browser (Firefox) : "The page isn't redirecting properly.     Many of my view functions do similar things. For the most part, they reverse to a different views upon clicking a button / a text link. So I wrote a helper function render_reverse def render_reverse(f, args): # args are all string type return eval('reverse(' + f + ', ' + args + ')' ) eval is a bad practice, and is pretty slow. It takes 3 seconds to start redirecting, whereas calling reverse directly takes less than 1 second to start redirecting. What alternative do I have? By the way, the function above doesn't work properly. I was modelling after this line (which works) eval('reverse("homepage", args=["abcdefg"])') Thanks.

    Apache cannot fully determine domain name when I tried restarting after install. I get this error; sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart *Restarting web server config apache2 apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1 for ServerName. Why I'm I seeing 127.0.1.1 I have tried saving ServerName localhost into my /etc/init.d/apache2 but it keeps redirecting me to google search page everytime I type phpmyadmin.
