  • Java Port Socket Programming Error

    - by atrus-darkstone
    Hi- I have been working on a java client-server program using port sockets. The goal of this program is for the client to take a screenshot of the machine it is running on, break the RGB info of this image down into integers and arrays, then send this info over to the server, where it is reconstructed into a new image file. However, when I run the program I am experiencing the following two bugs: The first number recieved by the server, no matter what its value is according to the client, is always 49. The client only sends(or the server only receives?) the first value, then the program hangs forever. Any ideas as to why this is happening, and what I can do to fix it? The code for both client and server is below. Thanks! • Wildcard subdomain setup ... want to change host IP throws off client A records... what to do...

    - by Joe
    Here is the current set up (in a nutshell). The site is set up with a wildcard subdomain, so *.website.com is accessible. Clients can then domain map their own domains with an A record to the server IP address and it will translate the to appropriate *.website.com with re directions and env variables in htaccess. Everything is working perfect... but now comes the problem. The site has grown larger than a single DQC Xeon server can handle at peak times. Looking at cloud options seems tempting, but clients are pointing their domains to a single IP address with the A record (our server). Now, this was probably bad planing from the start, but the question is, if this was to be done today, how would we set it up so that clients use a CNAME perhaps to point their domains to our server rather than an A record. And, if that is not possible for the root domain, how can we then use multiple IP addresses on our side to translate the incoming http request? Complex enough? Hope I've explained it well!

  • Node.js, Cygwin and Socket.io walk into a bar... Node.js throws ENOBUFS and everyone dies...

    - by A Wizard Did It
    I'm hoping someone here can help me out, I'm not having much luck figuring this out myself. I'm running node.js version 0.3.1 on Cygwin. I'm using Connect and Socket.io. I seem to be having some random problems with DNS or something, I haven't quite figured it out. The end result is that I the server is running fine, but when a browser attempts to connect to it the initial HTTP Request works, Socket.io connects, and then the server dies (output below). I don't think it has anything to do with the HTTP request because the server gets a lot data posted to it, and it was receiving requests and responding up until my connection that killed it. I've googled around and the closest thing I've found is DNS being set improperly. It's a network program meant to run only on an internal network, so I've set the nameserver x.x.x.x in my /etc/resolv.conf to the internal DNS. I've also added nameserver 8.8.8.8 in addition. I'm not sure what else to check, but would be grateful of any help. In node.exe.stackdump Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION at eip=610C51B9 eax=00000000 ebx=00000001 ecx=00000000 edx=00000308 esi=00000000 edi=010FCCB0 ebp=010FCAEC esp=010FCAC4 program=\\?\E:\cygwin\usr\local\bin\node.exe, pid 3296, thread unknown (0xBEC) cs=0023 ds=002B es=002B fs=0053 gs=002B ss=002B Stack trace: Frame Function Args 010FCAEC 610C51B9 (00000000, 00000000, 00000000, 00000000) 010FCBFC 610C5B55 (00000000, 00000000, 00000000, 00000000) 010FCCBC 610C693A (FFFFFFFF, FFFFFFFF, 750334F3, FFFFFFFE) 010FCD0C 61027CB2 (00000002, F4B994D5, 010FCE64, 00000002) 010FCD98 76306B59 (00000002, 010FCDD4, 763069A4, 00000002) End of stack trace Node Output: node.js:50 throw e; // process.nextTick error, or 'error' event on first tick ^ Error: ENOBUFS, No buffer space available at doConnect (net.js:642:19) at net.js:803:9 at dns.js:166:30 at IOWatcher.callback (dns.js:48:15) EDIT I'm hitting an LDAP server using http.createClient immediately after a client connects to get information, and that seems to be where the problem is that is causing ENOBUFS. I've edited the source to include && errno != ENOBUFS which now prevents the server from dying, however now the LDAP request isn't working. I'm not sure what the problem is that would cause that though. As I mentioned this is an internal only application, so I set the DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf to the DNS servers that are being applied to the host machine. Not sure if this is part of the issue? EDIT 2 Here's some output from gdb --args ./node_g --debug ../myscript.js. I'm not sure if this is related to ENOBUFS, however, as it seems to be disconnecting immediately after connection with Socket.io [New thread 672.0x100] Error: dll starting at 0x76e30000 not found. • Trying to convert simple midlet application to Android application but running into problems.

    - by chobo2
    Hi I am trying to do some threading in Android so I took an old threading assignment I had done fora midlet and took out the midlet code and replaced it with android code(such as textview). package com.assignment1; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.TextView; public class Threading extends Activity { private TextView tortose; private TextView hare; private Thread hareThread; private Thread torotoseThread; private int num = 0; private int num2 = 0; public Threading() { } /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); tortose = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.TextView01); hare = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.TextView02); Hare newHare = new Hare(); hareThread = new Thread(newHare); hareThread.start(); Torotose newTortose = new Torotose(); torotoseThread = new Thread(newTortose); torotoseThread.start(); //updateDisplay(); } private synchronized void check(int value1, int value2) { if((value1-value2) >= 10) { try { wait(); } catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println(ex); } } } private synchronized void getGoing(int value1, int value2) { if((value1-value2) == 0) { try { notify(); } catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println(ex); } } } private class Hare extends Thread { public void run() { while(true) { num++; hare.setText(Integer.toString(num)); check(num, num2); try { // are threads different in andriod apps? Thread.sleep(100); // hareThread.sleep(100); } catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println(ex); } } } } private class Torotose extends Thread { public void run() { while(true) { num2++; tortose.setText(Integer.toString(num2)); getGoing(num,num2); try { Thread.sleep(200); //torotoseThread.sleep(200); } catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println(ex); } } } } } First it wanted me to change my threads to like static threads.So is this just how Android does it? Next when I run this code it just crashes with some unexpected error. I am not sure what the error is but when I try to debug it and goes to like to create a new "hare" object it shows me this. // Compiled from ClassLoader.java (version 1.5 : 49.0, super bit) public abstract class java.lang.ClassLoader { // Method descriptor #8 ()V // Stack: 3, Locals: 1 protected ClassLoader(); • Java performance problem with LinkedBlockingQueue

    - by lofthouses
    Hello, this is my first post on stackoverflow...i hope someone can help me i have a big performance regression with Java 6 LinkedBlockingQueue. In the first thread i generate some objects which i push in to the queue In the second thread i pull these objects out. The performance regression occurs when the take() method of the LinkedBlockingQueue is called frequently. I monitored the whole program and the take() method claimed the most time overall. And the throughput goes from ~58Mb/s to 0.9Mb/s... the queue pop and take methods ar called with a static method from this class public class C_myMessageQueue { private static final LinkedBlockingQueue<C_myMessageObject> x_queue = new LinkedBlockingQueue<C_myMessageObject>( 50000 ); /** * @param message * @throws InterruptedException * @throws NullPointerException */ public static void addMyMessage( C_myMessageObject message ) throws InterruptedException, NullPointerException { x_queue.put( message ); } /** * @return Die erste message der MesseageQueue * @throws InterruptedException */ public static C_myMessageObject getMyMessage() throws InterruptedException { return x_queue.take(); } } how can i tune the take() method to accomplish at least 25Mb/s, or is there a other class i can use which will block when the "queue" is full or empty. kind regards Bart P.S.: sorry for my bad english, i'm from germany ;)

  • Traditional IO vs memory-mapped

    - by Senne
    I'm trying to illustrate the difference in performance between traditional IO and memory mapped files in java to students. I found an example somewhere on internet but not everything is clear to me, I don't even think all steps are nececery. I read a lot about it here and there but I'm not convinced about a correct implementation of neither of them. The code I try to understand is: public class FileCopy{ public static void main(String args[]){ if (args.length < 1){ System.out.println(" Wrong usage!"); System.out.println(" Correct usage is : java FileCopy <large file with full path>"); System.exit(0); } String inFileName = args[0]; File inFile = new File(inFileName); if (inFile.exists() != true){ System.out.println(inFileName + " does not exist!"); System.exit(0); } try{ new FileCopy().memoryMappedCopy(inFileName, inFileName+".new" ); new FileCopy().customBufferedCopy(inFileName, inFileName+".new1"); }catch(FileNotFoundException fne){ fne.printStackTrace(); }catch(IOException ioe){ ioe.printStackTrace(); }catch (Exception e){ e.printStackTrace(); } } public void memoryMappedCopy(String fromFile, String toFile ) throws Exception{ long timeIn = new Date().getTime(); // read input file RandomAccessFile rafIn = new RandomAccessFile(fromFile, "rw"); FileChannel fcIn = rafIn.getChannel(); ByteBuffer byteBuffIn = fcIn.map(FileChannel.MapMode.READ_WRITE, 0,(int) fcIn.size()); fcIn.read(byteBuffIn); byteBuffIn.flip(); RandomAccessFile rafOut = new RandomAccessFile(toFile, "rw"); FileChannel fcOut = rafOut.getChannel(); ByteBuffer writeMap = fcOut.map(FileChannel.MapMode.READ_WRITE,0,(int) fcIn.size()); writeMap.put(byteBuffIn); long timeOut = new Date().getTime(); System.out.println("Memory mapped copy Time for a file of size :" + (int) fcIn.size() +" is "+(timeOut-timeIn)); fcOut.close(); fcIn.close(); } static final int CHUNK_SIZE = 100000; static final char[] inChars = new char[CHUNK_SIZE]; public static void customBufferedCopy(String fromFile, String toFile) throws IOException{ long timeIn = new Date().getTime(); Reader in = new FileReader(fromFile); Writer out = new FileWriter(toFile); while (true) { synchronized (inChars) { int amountRead = in.read(inChars); if (amountRead == -1) { break; } out.write(inChars, 0, amountRead); } } long timeOut = new Date().getTime(); System.out.println("Custom buffered copy Time for a file of size :" + (int) new File(fromFile).length() +" is "+(timeOut-timeIn)); in.close(); out.close(); } } When exactly is it nececary to use RandomAccessFile? Here it is used to read and write in the memoryMappedCopy, is it actually nececary just to copy a file at all? Or is it a part of memorry mapping? In customBufferedCopy, why is synchronized used here? I also found a different example that -should- test the performance between the 2: public class MappedIO { private static int numOfInts = 4000000; private static int numOfUbuffInts = 200000; private abstract static class Tester { private String name; public Tester(String name) { this.name = name; } public long runTest() { System.out.print(name + ": "); try { long startTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); test(); long endTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); return (endTime - startTime); } catch (IOException e) { throw new RuntimeException(e); } } public abstract void test() throws IOException; } private static Tester[] tests = { new Tester("Stream Write") { public void test() throws IOException { DataOutputStream dos = new DataOutputStream( new BufferedOutputStream( new FileOutputStream(new File("temp.tmp")))); for(int i = 0; i < numOfInts; i++) dos.writeInt(i); dos.close(); } }, new Tester("Mapped Write") { public void test() throws IOException { FileChannel fc = new RandomAccessFile("temp.tmp", "rw") .getChannel(); IntBuffer ib = fc.map( FileChannel.MapMode.READ_WRITE, 0, fc.size()) .asIntBuffer(); for(int i = 0; i < numOfInts; i++) ib.put(i); fc.close(); } }, new Tester("Stream Read") { public void test() throws IOException { DataInputStream dis = new DataInputStream( new BufferedInputStream( new FileInputStream("temp.tmp"))); for(int i = 0; i < numOfInts; i++) dis.readInt(); dis.close(); } }, new Tester("Mapped Read") { public void test() throws IOException { FileChannel fc = new FileInputStream( new File("temp.tmp")).getChannel(); IntBuffer ib = fc.map( FileChannel.MapMode.READ_ONLY, 0, fc.size()) .asIntBuffer(); while(ib.hasRemaining()) ib.get(); fc.close(); } }, new Tester("Stream Read/Write") { public void test() throws IOException { RandomAccessFile raf = new RandomAccessFile( new File("temp.tmp"), "rw"); raf.writeInt(1); for(int i = 0; i < numOfUbuffInts; i++) { raf.seek(raf.length() - 4); raf.writeInt(raf.readInt()); } raf.close(); } }, new Tester("Mapped Read/Write") { public void test() throws IOException { FileChannel fc = new RandomAccessFile( new File("temp.tmp"), "rw").getChannel(); IntBuffer ib = fc.map( FileChannel.MapMode.READ_WRITE, 0, fc.size()) .asIntBuffer(); ib.put(0); for(int i = 1; i < numOfUbuffInts; i++) ib.put(ib.get(i - 1)); fc.close(); } } }; public static void main(String[] args) { for(int i = 0; i < tests.length; i++) System.out.println(tests[i].runTest()); } } I more or less see whats going on, my output looks like this: Stream Write: 653 Mapped Write: 51 Stream Read: 651 Mapped Read: 40 Stream Read/Write: 14481 Mapped Read/Write: 6 What is makeing the Stream Read/Write so unbelievably long? And as a read/write test, to me it looks a bit pointless to read the same integer over and over (if I understand well what's going on in the Stream Read/Write) Wouldn't it be better to read int's from the previously written file and just read and write ints on the same place? Is there a better way to illustrate it? I've been breaking my head about a lot of these things for a while and I just can't get the whole picture..

  • How does this code break the Law of Demeter?

    - by Dave Jarvis
    The following code breaks the Law of Demeter: public class Student extends Person { private Grades grades; public Student() { } /** Must never return null; throw an appropriately named exception, instead. */ private synchronized Grades getGrades() throws GradesException { if( this.grades == null ) { this.grades = createGrades(); } return this.grades; } /** Create a new instance of grades for this student. */ protected Grades createGrades() throws GradesException { // Reads the grades from the database, if needed. // return new Grades(); } /** Answers if this student was graded by a teacher with the given name. */ public boolean isTeacher( int year, String name ) throws GradesException, TeacherException { // The method only knows about Teacher instances. // return getTeacher( year ).nameEquals( name ); } private Grades getGradesForYear( int year ) throws GradesException { // The method only knows about Grades instances. // return getGrades().getForYear( year ); } private Teacher getTeacher( int year ) throws GradesException, TeacherException { // This method knows about Grades and Teacher instances. • Synchronized Property Changes (Part 4)

    - by Geertjan
    The next step is to activate the undo/redo functionality... for a Node. Something I've not seen done before. I.e., when the Node is renamed via F2 on the Node, the "Undo/Redo" buttons should start working. Here is the start of the solution, via this item in the mailing list and Timon Veenstra's BeanNode class, note especially the items in bold: public class ShipNode extends BeanNode implements PropertyChangeListener, UndoRedo.Provider { private final InstanceContent ic; private final ShipSaveCapability saveCookie; private UndoRedo.Manager manager; private String oldDisplayName; private String newDisplayName; private Ship ship; public ShipNode(Ship bean) throws IntrospectionException { this(bean, new InstanceContent()); } private ShipNode(Ship bean, InstanceContent ic) throws IntrospectionException { super(bean, Children.LEAF, new ProxyLookup(new AbstractLookup(ic), Lookups.singleton(bean))); this.ic = ic; setDisplayName(bean.getType()); setShortDescription(String.valueOf(bean.getYear())); saveCookie = new ShipSaveCapability(bean); bean.addPropertyChangeListener(WeakListeners.propertyChange(this, bean)); } @Override public Action[] getActions(boolean context) { List<? extends Action> shipActions = Utilities.actionsForPath("Actions/Ship"); return shipActions.toArray(new Action[shipActions.size()]); } protected void fire(boolean modified) { if (modified) { ic.add(saveCookie); } else { ic.remove(saveCookie); } } @Override public UndoRedo getUndoRedo() { manager = Lookup.getDefault().lookup( UndoRedo.Manager.class); return manager; } private class ShipSaveCapability implements SaveCookie { private final Ship bean; public ShipSaveCapability(Ship bean) { this.bean = bean; } @Override public void save() throws IOException { StatusDisplayer.getDefault().setStatusText("Saving..."); fire(false); } } @Override public boolean canRename() { return true; } @Override public void setName(String newDisplayName) { Ship c = getLookup().lookup(Ship.class); oldDisplayName = c.getType(); c.setType(newDisplayName); fireNameChange(oldDisplayName, newDisplayName); fire(true); fireUndoableEvent("type", ship, oldDisplayName, newDisplayName); } public void fireUndoableEvent(String property, Ship source, Object oldValue, Object newValue) { ReUndoableEdit reUndoableEdit = new ReUndoableEdit( property, source, oldValue, newValue); UndoableEditEvent undoableEditEvent = new UndoableEditEvent( this, reUndoableEdit); manager.undoableEditHappened(undoableEditEvent); } private class ReUndoableEdit extends AbstractUndoableEdit { private Object oldValue; private Object newValue; private Ship source; private String property; public ReUndoableEdit(String property, Ship source, Object oldValue, Object newValue) { super(); this.oldValue = oldValue; this.newValue = newValue; this.source = source; this.property = property; } @Override public void undo() throws CannotUndoException { setName(oldValue.toString()); } @Override public void redo() throws CannotRedoException { setName(newValue.toString()); } } @Override public String getDisplayName() { Ship c = getLookup().lookup(Ship.class); if (null != c.getType()) { return c.getType(); } return super.getDisplayName(); } @Override public String getShortDescription() { Ship c = getLookup().lookup(Ship.class); if (null != String.valueOf(c.getYear())) { return String.valueOf(c.getYear()); } return super.getShortDescription(); } @Override public void propertyChange(PropertyChangeEvent evt) { if (evt.getPropertyName().equals("type")) { String oldDisplayName = evt.getOldValue().toString(); String newDisplayName = evt.getNewValue().toString(); fireDisplayNameChange(oldDisplayName, newDisplayName); } else if (evt.getPropertyName().equals("year")) { String oldToolTip = evt.getOldValue().toString(); String newToolTip = evt.getNewValue().toString(); fireShortDescriptionChange(oldToolTip, newToolTip); } fire(true); } } Undo works when rename is done, but Redo never does, because Undo is constantly activated, since it is reactivated whenever there is a name change. And why must the UndoRedoManager be retrieved from the Lookup (it doesn't work otherwise)? Don't get that part of the code either. Help welcome!

  • Problem with building tree bottom up

    - by Esmond
    Hi, I have problems building a binary tree from the bottom up. THe input of the tree would be internal nodes of the trees with the children of this node being the leaves of the eventual tree. So initially if the tree is empty the root would be the first internal node. Afterwards, The next internal node to be added would be the new root(NR), with the old root(OR) being one of the child of NR. And so on. The problem i have is that whenever i add a NR, the children of the OR seems to be lost when i do a inOrder traversal. This is proven to be the case when i do a getSize() call which returns the same number of nodes before and after addNode(Tree,Node) Any help with resolving this problem is appreciated edited with the inclusion of node class code. both tree and node classes have the addChild methods because i'm not very sure where to put them for it to be appropriated. any comments on this would be appreciated too. The code is as follows: import java.util.*; public class Tree { Node root; int size; public Tree() { root = null; } public Tree(Node root) { this.root = root; } public static void setChild(Node parent, Node child, double weight) throws ItemNotFoundException { if (parent.child1 != null && parent.child2 != null) { throw new ItemNotFoundException("This Node already has 2 children"); } else if (parent.child1 != null) { parent.child2 = child; child.parent = parent; parent.c2Weight = weight; } else { parent.child1 = child; child.parent = parent; parent.c1Weight = weight; } } public static void setChild1(Node parent, Node child) { parent.child1 = child; child.parent = parent; } public static void setChild2(Node parent, Node child) { parent.child2 = child; child.parent = parent; } public static Tree addNode(Tree tree, Node node) throws ItemNotFoundException { Tree tree1; if (tree.root == null) { tree.root = node; } else if (tree.root.getSeq().equals(node.getChild1().getSeq()) || tree.root.getSeq().equals(node.getChild2().getSeq())) { Node oldRoot = tree.root; oldRoot.setParent(node); tree.root = node; } else { //form a disjoint tree and merge the 2 trees tree1 = new Tree(node); tree = mergeTree(tree, tree1); } System.out.print("addNode2 = "); if(tree.root != null ) { Tree.inOrder(tree.root); } System.out.println(); return tree; } public static Tree mergeTree(Tree tree, Tree tree1) { String root = "root"; Node node = new Node(root); tree.root.setParent(node); tree1.root.setParent(node); tree.root = node; return tree; } public static int getSize(Node root) { if (root != null) { return 1 + getSize(root.child1) + getSize(root.child2); } else { return 0; } } public static boolean isEmpty(Tree Tree) { return Tree.root == null; } public static void inOrder(Node root) { if (root != null) { inOrder(root.child1); System.out.print(root.sequence + " "); inOrder(root.child2); } } } public class Node { Node child1; Node child2; Node parent; double c1Weight; double c2Weight; String sequence; boolean isInternal; public Node(String seq) { sequence = seq; child1 = null; c1Weight = 0; child2 = null; c2Weight = 0; parent = null; isInternal = false; } public boolean hasChild() { if (this.child1 == null && this.child2 == null) { this.isInternal = false; return isInternal; } else { this.isInternal = true; return isInternal; } } public String getSeq() throws ItemNotFoundException { if (this.sequence == null) { throw new ItemNotFoundException("No such node"); } else { return this.sequence; } } public void setChild(Node child, double weight) throws ItemNotFoundException { if (this.child1 != null && this.child2 != null) { throw new ItemNotFoundException("This Node already has 2 children"); } else if (this.child1 != null) { this.child2 = child; this.c2Weight = weight; } else { this.child1 = child; this.c1Weight = weight; } } public static void setChild1(Node parent, Node child) { parent.child1 = child; child.parent = parent; } public static void setChild2(Node parent, Node child) { parent.child2 = child; child.parent = parent; } public void setParent(Node parent){ this.parent = parent; } public Node getParent() throws ItemNotFoundException { if (this.parent == null) { throw new ItemNotFoundException("This Node has no parent"); } else { return this.parent; } } public Node getChild1() throws ItemNotFoundException { if (this.child1 == null) { throw new ItemNotFoundException("There is no child1"); } else { return this.child1; } } public Node getChild2() throws ItemNotFoundException { if (this.child2 == null) { throw new ItemNotFoundException("There is no child2"); } else { return this.child2; } } }

  • Installed ASUS HD4670, now unable to install ANY Debian due to low memory corruption

    - by Alfabravo
    I have a desktop PC which initially had the Intel D946gzis mobo, its chipset as video controller, some RAM and so. There I installed Debian without a problem alongside WindowsXP. I've bought an ASUS HD 4670 video card, installed it on the PC and now the installed Debian does not work, while the Ubuntu live CD refuses to run no matter if I set acpi, apic on or off... it throws me some low memory corruption at position just like shown here. With normal configuration, Debian throws kernel panic (keyboard lights blinking). Anyone have faced this before? Ideas? Thanks!! (meanwhile, debian hides in a virtualbox :'( ) Edited: Tried Ubuntu 9.10 x64 (due to the fact i've a core2duo at 2GHz) and it throws a kernel-panic to me (flashing caps and num LEDs). On screen, can be read different lines with things like: ... [ 1.957161] [] rb_erase+0xd6/0x160 [ 1.957266] [] page_fault+0x25/0x30 Could it be something about this new video card having ddr3?

  • DexFile.class error in eclipse

    - by ninjasense
    I get this weird error everytime I debug in eclipse. It just seemed to appear one day and I was wondering if anyone else was running int the same problem. It does not affect my app in anyway visibly and does not cause a crash but it is an annoyance while debugging. Here is the full error: // Compiled from DexFile.java (version 1.5 : 49.0, super bit) public final class dalvik.system.DexFile { // Method descriptor #8 (Ljava/io/File;)V // Stack: 3, Locals: 2 public DexFile(java.io.File file) throws java.io.IOException; 0 aload_0 [this] 1 invokespecial java.lang.Object() [1] 4 new java.lang.RuntimeException [2] 7 dup 8 ldc <String "Stub!"> [3] 10 invokespecial java.lang.RuntimeException(java.lang.String) [4] 13 athrow Line numbers: [pc: 0, line: 4] Local variable table: [pc: 0, pc: 14] local: this index: 0 type: dalvik.system.DexFile [pc: 0, pc: 14] local: file index: 1 type: java.io.File // Method descriptor #18 (Ljava/lang/String;)V // Stack: 3, Locals: 2 public DexFile(java.lang.String fileName) throws java.io.IOException; 0 aload_0 [this] 1 invokespecial java.lang.Object() [1] 4 new java.lang.RuntimeException [2] 7 dup 8 ldc <String "Stub!"> [3] 10 invokespecial java.lang.RuntimeException(java.lang.String) [4] 13 athrow Line numbers: [pc: 0, line: 5] Local variable table: [pc: 0, pc: 14] local: this index: 0 type: dalvik.system.DexFile [pc: 0, pc: 14] local: fileName index: 1 type: java.lang.String // Method descriptor #22 (Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;I)Ldalvik/system/DexFile; // Stack: 3, Locals: 3 public static dalvik.system.DexFile loadDex(java.lang.String sourcePathName, java.lang.String outputPathName, int flags) throws java.io.IOException; 0 new java.lang.RuntimeException [2] 3 dup 4 ldc <String "Stub!"> [3] 6 invokespecial java.lang.RuntimeException(java.lang.String) [4] 9 athrow Line numbers: [pc: 0, line: 6] Local variable table: [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: sourcePathName index: 0 type: java.lang.String [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: outputPathName index: 1 type: java.lang.String [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: flags index: 2 type: int // Method descriptor #28 ()Ljava/lang/String; // Stack: 3, Locals: 1 public java.lang.String getName(); 0 new java.lang.RuntimeException [2] 3 dup 4 ldc <String "Stub!"> [3] 6 invokespecial java.lang.RuntimeException(java.lang.String) [4] 9 athrow Line numbers: [pc: 0, line: 7] Local variable table: [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: this index: 0 type: dalvik.system.DexFile // Method descriptor #30 ()V // Stack: 3, Locals: 1 public void close() throws java.io.IOException; 0 new java.lang.RuntimeException [2] 3 dup 4 ldc <String "Stub!"> [3] 6 invokespecial java.lang.RuntimeException(java.lang.String) [4] 9 athrow Line numbers: [pc: 0, line: 8] Local variable table: [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: this index: 0 type: dalvik.system.DexFile // Method descriptor #32 (Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/ClassLoader;)Ljava/lang/Class; // Stack: 3, Locals: 3 public java.lang.Class loadClass(java.lang.String name, java.lang.ClassLoader loader); 0 new java.lang.RuntimeException [2] 3 dup 4 ldc <String "Stub!"> [3] 6 invokespecial java.lang.RuntimeException(java.lang.String) [4] 9 athrow Line numbers: [pc: 0, line: 9] Local variable table: [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: this index: 0 type: dalvik.system.DexFile [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: name index: 1 type: java.lang.String [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: loader index: 2 type: java.lang.ClassLoader // Method descriptor #37 ()Ljava/util/Enumeration; // Signature: ()Ljava/util/Enumeration<Ljava/lang/String;>; // Stack: 3, Locals: 1 public java.util.Enumeration entries(); 0 new java.lang.RuntimeException [2] 3 dup 4 ldc <String "Stub!"> [3] 6 invokespecial java.lang.RuntimeException(java.lang.String) [4] 9 athrow Line numbers: [pc: 0, line: 10] Local variable table: [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: this index: 0 type: dalvik.system.DexFile // Method descriptor #30 ()V // Stack: 3, Locals: 1 protected void finalize() throws java.io.IOException; 0 new java.lang.RuntimeException [2] 3 dup 4 ldc <String "Stub!"> [3] 6 invokespecial java.lang.RuntimeException(java.lang.String) [4] 9 athrow Line numbers: [pc: 0, line: 11] Local variable table: [pc: 0, pc: 10] local: this index: 0 type: dalvik.system.DexFile // Method descriptor #42 (Ljava/lang/String;)Z public static native boolean isDexOptNeeded(java.lang.String arg0) throws java.io.FileNotFoundException, java.io.IOException; } Thanks

  • Slick2D - Cannot instantiate the type Image

    - by speakon
    I am getting this strange error and I cannot for the life of me figure out why: Cannot instantiate the type Image CODE: import java.awt.Image; import org.newdawn.slick.GameContainer; import org.newdawn.slick.Graphics; import org.newdawn.slick.SlickException; import org.newdawn.slick.state.BasicGameState; import org.newdawn.slick.state.StateBasedGame; public class MainMenuState extends BasicGameState { int stateID = -1; Image background = null; Image startGameOption = null; Image exitOption = null; float startGameScale = 1; float exitScale = 1; MainMenuState( int stateID ) { this.stateID = stateID; } public int getID() { return stateID; } public void init(GameContainer gc, StateBasedGame sbg) throws SlickException { try { background = new Image("data/menu.jpg"); Image menuOptions = new Image("data/menuoptions.png"); startGameOption = menuOptions.getSubImage(0, 0, 377, 71); exitOption = menuOptions.getSubImage(0, 71, 377, 71); }catch (SlickException e) { System.err.print(e); } } public void render(GameContainer gc, StateBasedGame sbg, Graphics g) throws SlickException { } public void update(GameContainer gc, StateBasedGame sbg, int delta) throws SlickException { } } Why do I get this error? I've googled endlessly and nobody else has it, this worked fine in my other game. Any ideas?

  • How do I load tmx files with Slick2d?

    - by mbreen
    I just started using Slick2D and learned how simple it is to load in a tilemap and display it. I tried atleast a dozen different tmx files from numerous examples to see if it was the actual file that was corrupted. Everytime I get this error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException: Resource not found: data/maps/desert.tmx at org.newdawn.slick.util.ResourceLoader.getResourceAsStream(ResourceLoader.java:69) at org.newdawn.slick.tiled.TiledMap.<init>(TiledMap.java:101) at game.Game.init(Game.java:17) at game.Tunneler.initStatesList(Tunneler.java:37) at org.newdawn.slick.state.StateBasedGame.init(StateBasedGame.java:164) at org.newdawn.slick.AppGameContainer.setup(AppGameContainer.java:390) at org.newdawn.slick.AppGameContainer.start(AppGameContainer.java:314) at game.Tunneler.main(Tunneler.java:29) Here is my Game class: package game; import org.newdawn.slick.GameContainer; import org.newdawn.slick.Graphics; import org.newdawn.slick.SlickException; import org.newdawn.slick.state.BasicGameState; import org.newdawn.slick.state.StateBasedGame; import org.newdawn.slick.tiled.TiledMap; public class Game extends BasicGameState{ private int stateID = -1; private TiledMap map = null; public Game(int stateID){ this.stateID = stateID; } public void init(GameContainer container, StateBasedGame game) throws SlickException{ map = new TiledMap("data/maps/desert.tmx","maps");//ERROR } public void render(GameContainer container, StateBasedGame game, Graphics g) throws SlickException{ //map.render(0,0); } public void update(GameContainer container, StateBasedGame game, int delta) throws SlickException{ } public int getID(){return stateID;} } I've tried to see if anyone else has had similar problems but haven't turned up anything. I am able to load other files, so I don't believe it's a compiler issue. My menu class can load images and display them just fine. Also, the filepath is correct. Please let me know if you have any pointers that might help me sort this out.

    - by suhail

Here is the steps i followed: copied the file celeryd and pasted it in folder /etc/init.d/ created a configuration file celeryd in folder /etc/default/ now when i tried to start it by sudo /etc/init.d/celeryd start, it throws error sudo: /etc/init.d/celeryd: command not found I googled about how to install init.d, i got this SO-question. it says to issue a uname -a and when i does i get this: Linux capsonesystem8-desktop 3.2.0-43-generic-pae #68-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 15 03:55:10 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux and also it says use utils like insserv to enable init.d script so tried: insserv /etc/init.d/celeryd but it throws error insserv: command not found so i tried to install insserv sudo apt-get install insserv. but it say aleady installed: insserv is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 222 not upgraded. So how to install init.d script?? Any help will be appreciated. update1: when i tried: $ sh -x /etc/init.d/celeryd start it reveal some errors. may be that is why the service won’t start. update2: I cleared all the errors when i run $ sh -x /etc/init.d/celeryd start but still sudo /etc/init.d/celeryd start throws command not found error
