  i have a custom buildchain for an android project. there is a build.xml and build.properties. build.properties contains this line: manifest.file =${env.WORK_FOLDER}/AndroidManifest.xml and WORK_FOLDER is correctly set to proj_root_work. the layout is like the following: proj_root-_work [DIR] (some stuff gets preprocessed and all finally copied here - src, res, assets and the AndroidManifest.xml) -build.xml -build.properties then i call ant for my build configuration from the proj_root and it complains about not finding AndroidManifest.xml. when i put it in my proj_root it works, but i really want it in my _Work directory. i read that the file HAS TO BE in the root, what is the point then of the build.properties entry? also i saw some custom parameters to aapt.exe ... any hints welcome, thx

The problem is that i don't know if it's normal, i just set properties for caching templates: struts.properties: struts.freemarker.templatesCache=true and freemarker.properties: template_update_delay=60000

• Databind Parent/Child relation with Mysql

  What is the best way to databind parent/child relations? Lets say I have two simple objects: Parent with the following properties, ParentId, Name and Childs and Child with the following properties, ChildId, Name and Parent. I want to write a repository using MySql for this but is failing when I bind both Childs and Parent properties, I have only been able to bind either the Childs property of parent or the Parent property och Child or else I would get a infinite loop. Thinking of it the preferable solution would be to only bind this properties when requested. If I use Linq to sql i would be able to write Parent.Childs[0].Parent.Name but how should I accomplish this with my own repository and with MySql, could anyone point me in the right direction? Looking at the Linq 2 sql generated classes they use EntitySet<Child and EntityRef<Parent could this be used with Mysql? I had a thought of using my IChildRepository in the Parent object and let the Public IEnumerable Childs databind the childs but it seems not right? Best regards E2k

  I'm trying to figure out the best way to access an <iframe> element's window and document properties from a parent page. The <iframe> may be created via JavaScript or accessed via a reference stored in an object property or a variable, so, if I understand correctly, that rules out the use of document.frames. I've seen this done a number of ways, but I'm unsure about the best approach. Given an <iframe> created in this way: var iframe = document.createElement('iframe'); document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(iframe); I'm currently using this to access the document, and it seems to work OK across the major browsers: var doc = iframe.contentWindow || iframe.contentDocument; if (doc.document) { doc = doc.document; } I've also see this approach: var iframe = document.getElementById('my_iframe'); iframe = (iframe.contentWindow) ? iframe.contentWindow : (iframe.contentDocument.document) ? iframe.contentDocument.document : iframe.contentDocument; iframe.document.open(); iframe.document.write('Hello World!'); iframe.document.close(); That confuses me, since it seems that if iframe.contentDocument.document is defined, you're going to end up trying to access iframe.contentDocument.document.document. There's also this: var frame_ref = document.getElementsByTagName('iframe')[0]; var iframe_doc = frame_ref.contentWindow ? frame_ref.contentWindow.document : frame_ref.contentDocument; In the end, I guess I'm confused as to which properties hold which properties, whether contentDocument is equivalent to document or whether there is such a property as contentDocument.document, etc. Can anyone point me to an accurate/timely reference on these properties, or give a quick briefing on how to efficiently access an <iframe>'s window and document properties in a cross-browser way (without the use of jQuery or other libraries)?   So basically I have this public class Ticket{ public TicketNumber {get; set;} ..a bunch more properties... } I want to add some properties using a subclass like this using subsumption instead of composition. public class TicketViewModel(Ticket ticket){ //set each property from value of Ticket passed in this.TicketNumber = ticket.TicketNumber; ...a bunch more lines of code.. //additional VM properties public SelectList TicketTypes {get; private set;} } How do I instantiate the properties without having to write all the lines like this this.TicketNumber = ticket.TicketNumber; Is there some kind of shortcut? Something like in the subclass constructor? this = ticket; Obviously this doesn't work but is their some way so I don't have to modify my subclass if addng/removing a property to the parent class? Or something?

  Running PostgreSQL 9.0.1, with streaming replication keeping one read-only mirror instance up to date. Auto-vaccuum is on on the primary, except for a few tables which are not vacuumed by the auto-vacuum daemon, in an effort to reduce business-hour IO. These tables are "materialised views". Each night at midnight, we run a vacuum across the database in order to clean up those tables that are excluded from the auto-vacuum. I'm wondering if that process replicates across to the mirror, or if I need to set up vacuum on the mirror as well?

Unfortunately, opposed to other situations i encountered before, here there is no way to avoid using awt and make use of Swing in this case. And this was just an SSCCE i made to show the problem and my recent (also first) application suffers from this subject. Note: it seems i can not attach anything, so the contents od the text file would be this: ????? and the contents of properties file: #Sun May 02 09:45:10 IRDT 2010 tray.show=????? but i don't think by giving you the unicode-scape sequence, these would be necessary any way... And i think should have to let you know I posted this question a while ago in SDN and "the Java Ranch" forums and other native forums and still I'm watching... • Is there a practical alternative to struct inheritance? (C#)

  I am writing code that will populate the Margin, Padding and BorderThickness properties of classes in the System.Windows.Documents namespace. Each of these properties accepts a value in the form of a System.Windows.Thickness, which is a struct. However, I wish to associate some additional data with each of these property assignments, which may subsequently be retrieved by my code. If Thickness were a class, I would inherit from it and define properties in the subclass to store my additional data items. But since it is a struct, inheritance is not possible. Is there any practical way to achieve this, while maintaining type-compatibility with the properties I am populating? Thanks for your ideas, Tim

  Hey there, What is the best way to get a number of property values of a business object from the View to the Presenter in a WebFormsMvp page? Here is what i propose: The scenario is, I have a business object called Quote which i would like to load form the database, edit and then save. The Quote class has heaps of properties on it. The form is concerned with about 20 of these properties. I have existing methods to load/save a Quote object to/from the database. I now need to wire this all together. So, in the View_Load handler on my presenter i intend to do something like this: public void View_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { View.Model.Quote = quoteService.Read(quoteId); } And then bind all my controls as follows: <asp:TextBox ID="TotalPriceTextBox" runat="server" Text="<%# Model.Quote.TotalPrice %>" /> All good, the data is on the screen. The user then makes a bunch of changes and hits a "Submit" button. Here is where I'm unsure. I create a class called QuoteEventArgs exposing the 20 properties the form is able to edit. When the View raises the Submit button's event, I set these properties to the values of the controls in the code behind. Then raise the event for the presenter to respond to. The presenter re-loads the Quote object from the database, sets all the properties and saves it to the database. Is this the right way to do this? If not, what is? Cheers, Andrej.

  I have a load balancer that I created an auto-scaling-group and launch-config for. I created the auto-scaling-group with a min-size of 1 and max size of 20. I have a scaledown policy: as-put-scaling-policy SBMScaleDownPolicy --auto-scaling-group SBMAutoScaleGroup --adjustment=-1 --type ChangeInCapacity --cooldown 300 Then I set up an alarm: mon-put-metric-alarm SBMLowCPUAlarm --comparison-operator LessThanThreshold --evaluation-periods 1 --metric-name CPUUtilization --namespace "AWS/EC2" --period 600 --statistic Average --threshold 35 --alarm-actions arn:aws:autoscaling:us-east-1:policystuffhere:autoScalingGroupName/SBMAutoScaleGroup:policyName/SBMScaleDownPolicy --dimensions "AutoScalingGroupName=SBMAutoScaleGroup" When average CPU usage over 10 minutes is under 35, in CloudFront the alarm shows up as "In Alarm State" but doesn't decrease the number of instances. Also, if there's only one instance running it'll spin up another to 2 even if a scale up alarm isn't hit. It seems like the default value is just set to 2 somehow. How can I change this?

My questions are: When I register a new step to the plugin, what attribute(s) should I filter on? What property on the entity should I check the value of? and What should I look for the value of this entity to be so I can determine if the plugin execution should continue? • NIC: Changing Link Speed & Duplex to Full Duplex Is Drastically Slower

  I have an old Win Xp box with a 100 PRO/100 VE NIC and connecting to a Win 7 box with gigabit NIC via an ASUS gigabit router and peer to peer. I was getting 76% network utilisation on the XP machine using AUTO as the value for Link Speed and Duplex which is fine. But I decided to see what would happen if i selected Full Duplex 100Mbps on the XP box. I thought at worst it would be as good as auto detect since the Win 7 box it's transferring to is faster. Instead network utilisation dropped to 0.12% (as in a 10th of a percent) and the transfers just timed out. No biggie to reverse back to Auto but my question is why is full duplex such a dog? Im not "stuck" but just dont understand. There are only 2 machines here connecting through a router so i cant see how that would cause alot of collisions etc (if thats the problem).

The result type of my full text search function in LINQ is a special autogenerated type which includes KEY and RANK in addition to my regular domain object properties. So, if my regular domain object is PERSONS (with properties FirstName, LastName etc.), I also have a result object PERSONS_FTSResult with the same properties + KEY and RANK. Is there an easy way to cast it back to PERSONS?

  I am trying to create a UserDon object, and trying to generate the get and set methods programmatically ( based on Pro Javascript book by John Resig page 37 ), and am testing this on Firefox 3.5 The problem is: in function UserDon, "this" refers to the window object instead of the UserDon object. So after calling var userdon = new UserDon(...) I got setname and getname methods created on the window object (also setage and getage). • How to get HTTP preseed to work correctly on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid)?

  Installation media: ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso I tried a lot of different boot parameters, but either the installer ignored the preseed configuration, or it boot itself directly as LiveCD. An example of the boot parameters I've tried: auto url=http://mydomain.com/path/preseed.cfg boot=casper only-ubiquity initrd=/casper/initrd.lz quiet splash -- If I remove only-ubiquity, it boots as a LiveCD. If I remove boot=casper, it won't boot. If I add vga=normal locale=en_US console-setup/layoutcode=us console-setup/ask_detect=false interface=auto, it still can't do automatic install. If I remove auto, it's the same. What is the correct boot parameters for launching such an installation? From the apache log of the server hosting preseed.cfg, I see that the installer has no problems fetching the preseed file. My preseed file is almost identical to the one at https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/installation-guide/example-preseed.txt. Moreover, I have run debconf-set-selections -c preseed.cfg to ensure that the preseed file is correct.

May I know How I can manipulate Comment's properties for each row? Any help would be appreciated. I tried in my javascript that for each row rowObject.Comments.FirstName and it did not work.

Notice : if there any other commands i should execute in servers for more information, so it might help resolve the problem , let me know in comments

• Is there a way to automaticly call all versions of an inherited method?

  I'm writing a plug-in for a 3D modeling program. I have a custom class that wraps instances of elements in the 3D model, and in turn derives it's properties from the element it wraps. When the element in the model changes I want my class(es) to update their properties based on the new geometry. In the simplified example below. I have classes AbsCurveBasd, Extrusion, and Shell which are all derived from one another. Each of these classes implement a RefreshFromBaseShape() method which updates specific properties based on the current baseShape the class is wrapping. I can call base.RefreshFromBaseShape() in each implementation of RefreshFromBaseShape() to ensure that all the properties are updated. But I'm wondering if there is a better way where I don't have to remember to do this in every implementation of RefershFromBaseShape()?
