  I have been trying to process this SOAP XML return using SQL but all I get is NULL or nothing at all. I have tried different ways and pasted them all below. • Why would a script not like using MySQLi but is fine with MySQL?

  I'm having some issues using mysqli to execute a script with SELECT,DELETE,INSERT and UPDATE querys. They work when using norm mysql such as mysql_connect but im getting strange results when using mysqli. It works fine with a lot of the SELECT querys in other scripts but when it comes to some admin stuff it messes up. Its difficult to explain without attaching the whole script. It isn't actually producing an error but its not functioning in the same way as when using mysql. any ideas?

• Python: How can I use Twisted as the transport for SUDS?

  I have a project that is based on Twisted used to communicate with network devices and I am adding support for a new vendor (Citrix NetScaler) whose API is SOAP. Unfortunately the support for SOAP in Twisted still relies on SOAPpy, which is badly out of date. In fact as of this question (I just checked), twisted.web.soap itself hasn't even been updated in 21 months! I would like to ask if anyone has any experience they would be willing to share with utilizing Twisted's superb asynchronous transport functionality with SUDS. It seems like plugging in a custom Twisted transport would be a natural fit in SUDS' Client.options.transport, I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around it. I did come up with a way to call the SOAP method with SUDS asynchronously by utilizing twisted.internet.threads.deferToThread(), but this feels like a hack to me. • Floating Point Arithmetic - Modulo Operator on Double Type

  So I'm trying to figure out why the modulo operator is returning such a large unusual value. If I have the code: double result = 1.0d % 0.1d; it will give a result of 0.09999999999999995. I would expect a value of 0 Note this problem doesn't exist using the dividing operator - double result = 1.0d / 0.1d; will give a result of 10.0, meaning that the remainder should be 0. Let me be clear: I'm not surprised that an error exists, I'm surprised that the error is so darn large compared to the numbers at play. 0.0999 ~= 0.1 and 0.1 is on the same order of magnitude as 0.1d and only one order of magnitude away from 1.0d. Its not like you can compare it to a double.epsilon, or say "its equal if its < 0.00001 difference". I've read up on this topic on StackOverflow, in the following posts one two three, amongst others. Can anyone suggest explain why this error is so large? Any any suggestions to avoid running into the problems in the future (I know I could use decimal instead but I'm concerned about the performance of that).

This is very simple in a text field, but for my drop down () I'm having trouble with PHP reading the already stored name of user. • Grabbing rows from MySql where current date is in between start date and end date (Check if current date lies between start date and end date)

  I'm trying to select from the database to get the "campaigns" that dates fall into the month. So far i've been successful in grabbing rows that starts or ends inside the current month. What I need to do now is select rows that start in one month and ends a few months down the line ( EG: It's the 3rd month in the year, and there's a "campaign" that runs from the 1st month until the 5th. other example There is a "campaign" that runs from 2012 until 2013 ) I'm hoping there is some way to select via MySql all rows in which a capaign may run. If not should I grab all data in the database and only show the ones that run via the current month. I have already made a function that displays all the days inbetween each date inside an array, which is called "dateRange". I've also created another which shows how many days the campaign runs for called "runTime". • ASP.NET CacheDependency out of ThreadPool

  In an async http handler, we add items to the ASP.NET cache, with dependencies on some files. If the async method executes on a thread from the ThreadPool, all is fine: AsyncResult result = new AsyncResult(context, cb, extraData); ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(new WaitCallBack(DoProcessRequest), result); But as soon as we try to execute on a thread out of the ThreadPool: AsyncResult result = new AsyncResult(context, cb, extraData); Runner runner = new Runner(result); Thread thread = new Thread(new ThreadStart(runner.Run()); ... where Runner.Run just invokes DoProcessRequest, The dependencies do trigger right after the thread exits. I.e. the items are immediately removed from the cache, the reason being the dependencies. We want to use an out-of-pool thread because the processing might take a long time. So obviously something's missing when we create the thread. We might need to propagate the call context, the http context... Has anybody already encountered that issue? Note: off-the-shelf custom threadpools probably solve this. Writing our own threadpool is probably a bad idea (think NIH syndrom). Yet I'd like to understand this in details, though.

  I have the following scenario: Class_A - method_U - method_V - method_X - method_Y Class_B - method_M - method_N HttpClass - startRequest - didReceiveResponse // is a callback Now I want to realize these three flows (actually there are many more, but these are enough to demonstrate my question): Class_A :: method_X -> HttpClass :: startRequest:params -> ... wait, wait, wait ... -> HttpClass :: didReceiveResponse -> Class_A :: method_Y:result and: Class_A :: method_U -> HttpClass :: startRequest:params -> ... wait, wait, wait ... -> HttpClass :: didReceiveResponse -> Class_A :: method_V:result and the last one: Class_B :: method_M -> HttpClass :: startRequest:params -> ... wait, wait, wait ... -> HttpClass :: didReceiveResponse -> Class_B :: method_N:result Please note, that the methods in Class_A and Class_B have different names and functionality, they just make us of the same HttpClass. My solution now would be to pass a C function pointer to startRequest, store it in the HttpClass and when didReceiveResponse gets called I invoke the function pointer and pass the result (which will always be a JSON Dictionary). Now I'm wondering if there can be any problems using plain C or if there are better solutions doing it in a more Objective-C way. Any ideas?

• MySql Query lag time?

  When there are multiple PHP scripts running in parallel, each making an UPDATE query to the same record in the same table repeatedly, is it possible for there to be a 'lag time' before the table is updated with each query? I have basically 5-6 instances of a PHP script running in parallel, having been launched via cron. Each script gets all the records in the items table, and then loops through them and processes them. However, to avoid processing the same item more than once, I store the id of the last item being processed in a seperate table. So this is how my code works: function getCurrentItem() { $sql = "SELECT currentItemId from settings"; $result = $this->db->query($sql); return $result->get('currentItemId'); } function setCurrentItem($id) { $sql = "UPDATE settings SET currentItemId='$id'"; $this->db->query($sql); } $currentItem = $this->getCurrentItem(); $sql = "SELECT * FROM items WHERE status='pending' AND id > $currentItem'"; $result = $this->db->query($sql); $items = $result->getAll(); foreach ($items as $i) { //Check if $i has been processed by a different instance of the script, and if so, //leave it untouched. if ($this->getCurrentItem() > $i->id) continue; $this->setCurrentItem($i->id); // Process the item here } But despite of all the precautions, most items are being processed more than once. Which makes me think that there is some lag time between the update queries being run by the PHP script, and when the database actually updates the record. Is it true? And if so, what other mechanism should I use to ensure that the PHP scripts always get only the latest currentItemId even when there are multiple scripts running in parrallel? Would using a text file instead of the db help?

  I was wondering if there's a tool or a component for Delphi that can trace method execution line by line and create a log file. With this kind of tool it is easy to compare how method performs on two sets of input data by comparing two log files. EDIT: Let's say there is a function 10: function MyFunction(aInput: Integer): Integer; 11: begin 12: if aInput 10 then 13: Result := 10 14: else 15: Result := 0; 16: end; I'm looking for a tool that would give the log which whould be similar to the following: When aInput parameter is 1: Line 10: 'function MyFunction(aInput: Integer): Integer;' Line 11: 'begin' Line 12: 'if aInput 10 then' Line 15: 'Result := 0;' Line 16: 'end;' and when aInput parameter is 11: Line 10: 'function MyFunction(aInput: Integer): Integer;' Line 11: 'begin' Line 12: 'if aInput 10 then' Line 13: 'Result := 10;' Line 16: 'end;' The only information that should be required by the tool is the function name. It's like stepping through the method under debugger, but in an automatic manner with logging every line of code.

• Convert InputStream to String with encoding given in stream data

  Hi, My input is a InputStream which contains an XML document. Encoding used in XML is unknown and it is defined in the first line of XML document. From this InputStream, I want to have all document in a String. To do this, I use a BufferedInputStream to mark the beginning of the file and start reading first line. I read this first line to get encoding and then I use an InputStreamReader to generate a String with the correct encoding. It seems that it is not the best way to achieve this goal because it produces an OutOfMemory error.   I have a 90 GB SQL Server database that I want to make more manageable. It stores stock data from 50+ different stocks from 2009 and 2010, and each stock is a separate table. Some tables have hundreds of millions of rows, and other have just a few million. What I want to do is somehow split the database, so that I don't have a single database file that is 90 GB. What I want is to be able to somehow magically split all the tables so that I can backup the 2009 data once and not have to keep on including it in the backup every time I backup the entire database, however, I would like the 2009 data to be included whenever I do a query. Is partitioning the database the way to go? Will it do the above for me, or will I need some other solution? I research partitioning, but I wasn't sure if that would solve all my problems. I wasn't able to find anything that would tell me whether or not it would migrate prexisting data, or whether it only worked for newly inserted data. Any help or pointers would be much appreciated. • After I apply custom logic, next UI action crashes my app.

  I've got an team (eveningRoster) that I'm making a button add employees to. The team is really a relationship to that night's event, but it's represented with an AC. I wanted to make sure an employee did not belong to the team before it adds, so I added a method to MyDocument to check first. It seems to work, the error logs complete, but after I've added a member, the next time I click anything, the program crashes. Any guesses why? Now, as I understood, In the third calculation, we got an infinite search (failture branch). I check it, and I got a finite search (failture branch). I'll explain: In the first, we got a substitue of M=0, N=s(0) (rule 1 - succsess!). In the second, we got a substitue of M=s(0),N=0 (rule 2 - sucsses!). But what now? I try to match M=s(s(0)) N=0, But it got a finite search - failture branch. Why the comipler doesn't write me "fail". Thank you.

• How can I bind Wpf DataGridColumn to an object?

  I want to bind the columns of my WPF DataGrid to some objects in a Dictionary like this: Binding Path=Objects[i] where Objects is my Dictionary of objects, so that each cell will represent an Object element. How can I do that? I suppose that I need to create a template for my cell, which I did, but how to get the result of column binding in my template? I know that by default the content of a DataGridCell is a TextBlock and it's Text property is set through column binding result, but if that result is an object I guess that I have to create a ContentTemplate. How do I do that, as the stuff I tried is not displaying anything.
