  class String contains very useful method - String.Join(string, string[]). It creates a string from an array, separating each element of array with a symbol given. But general - it doesn't add a separator after the last element! I uses it for ASP.NET coding for separating with "<br />" or Environment.NewLine. So I want to add an empty row after each row in asp:Table. What method of IEnumerable<TableRow> can I use for the same functionality?

• [C++] Wrong EOF when unzipping binary file

  Hello there, I tried to unzip a binary file to a membuf from a zip archive using Lucian Wischik's Zip Utils: http://www.wischik.com/lu/programmer/zip_utils.html http://www.codeproject.com/KB/files/zip_utils.aspx FindZipItem(hz, filename.c_str(), true, &j, &ze); char *content = new char[ze.unc_size]; UnzipItem(hz, j, content, ze.unc_size); delete[] content; But it didn't unzip the file correctly. It stopped at the first 0x00 of the file. For example when I unzip an MP3 file, it will only unzip the first 4 bytes: 0x49443303 (ID3\0) because the 5th to 8th byte is 0x00000000. I also tried to capture the ZR_RESULT, and it always return ZR_OK (which means completed without errors). • Accessing GMail "View as HTML" content programatically?

  I love the "View as HTML" option in GMail when viewing attachments. I would love to be able to use this feature programatically, i.e. check a GMail inbox, read emails, if there are attachments, get the html view and use that content. I'm looking to do this in C Sharp (on a Mac, can't find the hash symbol). Does anyone know if this is possible or if there's another solution to easily get content from a GMail account, regardless of what format it's in? I.E html, pdf, Word doc, etc. The GMail Inbox Feed api isn't good enough and before I start trying to build an IMAP solution that pulls in PDF/Word doc converters, I thought it'd be good to ask here.

• Getting pixel averages of a vector sitting atop a bitmap...

  I'm currently involved in a hardware project where I am mapping triangular shaped LED to traditional bitmap images. I'd like to overlay a triangle vector onto an image and get the average pixel data within the bounds of that vector. However, I'm unfamiliar with the math needed to calculate this. Does anyone have an algorithm or a link that could send me in the right direction? (I tagged this as Python, which is preferred, but I'd be happy with the general algorithm!)   I need to write a process controller module on Linux that handles tasks, which are each made up of multiple executables. The input to the controller is an XML file that contains the path to each executable and list of command line parameters to be passed to each. I need to implement the following functionality: Start each executable as an independent Be able to kill any of the created processes independent of the others In order to do (2), I think I need to capture the pid when I create a process, to issue a system kill command. I tried to get access to pid in Java but saw no easy way to do it. All my other logic (putting info about the tasks in DB, etc) is done in Java so I'd like to stick with that, but if there are solutions you can suggest in C, C++, or Python I'd appreciate those, too.

• How are Flash library symbols constructed? Why are width/height already available in constructor?

  Suppose I draw a square on the stage, convert it to a symbol, export it for ActionScript with a classname of "MySquare" (and of course a base class of MovieClip). How is it that in the MySquare constructor, the width and height of this MovieClip are already available? In fact, any named instances in the clip are also available. I'm confused about how the Flash player seems to be able to pre-construct my movie clip by populating its properties and child clips before my constructor for the class ever runs. I thought that it would have to first construct the clip, calling my constructor code, and then construct and add any children, but obviously the player is doing something special for clips designed in the Flash authoring environment.

• Changing the onClick area when adding an event

  Is there anyway to change what a user clicks on to add an event? Right now the entire day is clickable. This becomes an issue when the user needs to put focus back on that window, requiring a mouse click. If they click on the calendar, which takes up most of the page, then they launch the "Add Event" function. Is there a way to have a Plus sign (+), or whatever symbol in each day that when clicked, launches the "Add Event" function? Or... Is there a way to have a button across the top that said, "Add Event"?

• How can two threads access a common array of buffers with minimal blocking ? (c#)

  Hello, I'm working on an image processing application where I have two threads on top of my main thread: 1 - CameraThread that captures images from the webcam and writes them into a buffer 2 - ImageProcessingThread that takes the latest image from that buffer for filtering. The reason why this is multithreaded is because speed is critical and I need to have CameraThread to keep grabbing pictures and making the latest capture ready to pick up by ImageProcessingThread while it's still processing the previous image. My problem is about finding a fast and thread-safe way to access that common buffer and I've figured that, ideally, it should be a triple buffer (image[3]) so that if ImageProcessingThread is slow, then CameraThread can keep on writing on the two other images and vice versa. What sort of locking mechanism would be the most appropriate for this to be thread-safe ? I looked at the lock statement but it seems like it would make a thread block-waiting for another one to be finished and that would be against the point of triple buffering. • Test for external undefined references in Linux

  Is there a built in linux utility that I can use to test a newly compiled shared library for external undefined references? Gcc seems to be intelligent enough to check for undefined symbols in my own binary, but if the symbol is a reference to another library gcc does not check at link time. Instead I only get the message when I try to link to my new library from another program. It seems a little silly to get undefined reference messages in a library when I am compiling a different project so I want to know if I can do a check on all references internal and external when I build the library not when I link to it.   So the user may search for "10 mbit" after which I want to capture the "10" so I can use it in a speed-search rather than a string-search. This isn't a problem, the below regexp does this fine: if (preg_match("/(\d+)\smbit/", $string)){ ... } But, the user may search for something like "10/10 mbit" or "10-100 mbit". I don't want to match those with the above regexp - they should be handled in another fashion. So I would like a regexp that matches "10 mbit" if the number is all-numeric as a whole word (i.e. contained by whitespace, newline or lineend/linestart) Using lookbehind, I did this: if (preg_match("#(?<!/)(\d+)\s+mbit#i", $string)){ Just to catch those that doesn't have "/" before them, but this matched true for this string: "10/10 mbit" so I'm obviously doing something wrong here, but what?

I need to get the best 8 minute window where some parameters are maximum. say a value x, which is dynamic for every second. if my activity runs for one hr,i get 3600 values for x. I need to find the best continuous 8 minute time interval where x value was the highest among all the others. if i capture say from 0th minute to 8th minute, there may be another time frame like 0.4 to 8.4 where it was maximum. the granularity is one second. every second we need to consider. basically the peak 8 minute window where x was maximum. please help me with the design

• Linker Error: iPhone Unit Test Bundle referencing App classes

  Starting with an app already in development, I have carried out the instructions in the iPhone Development Guide – Unit Testing Applications I can successfully include and use my App's classes in Application-style tests that run on the device, and output their results to the console. If I add the following line of code: STAssertTrue([viewController isKindOfClass:[LoginViewController class]], @"Top view controller is not LoginViewController"); The following build error is generated: Undefined symbols: "_OBJC_CLASS_$_LoginViewController", referenced from: __objc_classrefs__DATA@0 in LoginViewTest.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status I can provide more configuration information for the project and the Testing target, but the setup works file without the [LoginViewController class] line in the test source. Without that line, I can reference the class, use it's properties and send it messages successfully. Is there a linking build setting, or bundle loading option that is required when attempting to use an App class in this fashion? Or should I find another type of test to confirm that the class of an object is the expected one?

• Linux application that bundles multiple incoming audio and video streams into one container file?

  I've been assigned to implement a video on-demand service for a local university. Different aspects of the lectures (video, audio, screen cast, white board) will be recorded. During a lecture all these data streams arrive at one Linux server. This server should transcode and bundle all these streams into one container (Matroska) file. My options seem to be: Write a GStreamer application do something with FFMPEG do something with VLC ...? Has anyone done something similar in the past? Can you recommend something? Edit For those interested, here are a few of my findings: Matroska is not a good format for streaming (it's possible, but it's not its primary intent) For Flash streaming you can use MPEG4 If you want to combine different videos into one video where each subvideo occupies a rectangular portion of the total screen, then this GStreamer script is useful (I found it on this blog post). Desktop capture works fine with VLC

• Reading Values Returned by SQLDataSource Before Binding to FormView

  I have a FormView that shows posts by users. I'd like to add Edit and Delete commands to the post to let the original author edit or delete their post. I'd like these commands to be available to only the author. The FormView is populated by a SqlDataSource that uses a stored procedure. I was thinking I would set the Edit and Delete hyperlink to Visible=False, then compare the currently signed in user guid to the guid of the post's author, and make the hyperlinks visible if the two guids are the same. I've tried using the Selected event of the SqlDataSource to capture the guid (which is returned by the stored procedure) however I can't find way to get the values returned by this datasource. How do I access the values returned by a SqlDataSource before they get databound?

Althought it would be desired, it is NOT an option to split the CSV list into another related table. In the example data below I would be trying to capture the code 99 for widget A. • Mixing Matplotlib patches with polar plot?

  I'm trying to plot some data in polar coordinates, but I don't want the standard ticks, labels, axes, etc. that you get with the Matplotlib polar() function. All I want is the raw plot and nothing else, as I'm handling everything with manually drawn patches and lines. Here are the options I've considered: 1) Drawing the data with polar(), hiding the superfluous stuff (with ax.axes.get_xaxis().set_visible(False), etc.) and then drawing my own axes (with Line2D, Circle, etc.). The problem is when I call polar() and subsequently add a Circle patch, it's drawn in polar coordinates and ends up looking like an infinity symbol. Also zooming doesn't seem to work with the polar() function. 2) Skip the polar() function and somehow make my own polar plot manually using Line2D. The problem is I don't know how to make Line2D draw in polar coordinates and haven't figured out how to use a transform to do that. Any idea how I should proceed?

  Hi, I am migrating a website over to a new server, its in ASP and uses several Access databases, the site and CMS can read, display the data, and even edit and update existing data entries, but when I want to add a new entry, I get an error... Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0046' Permission denied: 'CreateObject' /padp2010d/ads_tradetracker.asp, line 11 There seems to be no passwords on the databases, I have set up and tested the ODBC Data Sources and they are working fine.
