• ASP.NET Web API crash MSVCR90.dll

  I have a web api app developed on VS2010. The application calls an external program to run and it runs just fine if I execute in VS2010. But then when I deploy the web api to IIS 7 and 7.5, in some cases, it crashes. • how to call windows paint event from child thread

  If I am wrong then please correct me as I am new in this. I have one thread which display image captured from webcam on a windows created using CreateWindowEx() function. Now when i execute my program I can see that my paint code (in WindowProc()) in never reached (called InvalidateRect() from child thread to redraw), checked using breakpoint. Actually frame capture and display is being done in thread and I think because its in child thread and Window is in Main thread that is why its not able to call paint event. Can you help me on this

What is the point of doing a type check against currency if you don't allow the dollar sign? • How to add a Tooltip to a "td" with jquery?

  I need to add a tooltip/alt to a "td" element inside of my tables with jquery. Can someone help me out? I tried: var tTip ="Hello world"; $(this).attr("onmouseover", tip(tTip)); where I have verified that I am using the "td" as "this". Edit:I am able to capture the "td" element through using the "alert" command and it worked. So for some reason the "tip" function doesn't work. Anyone know why this would be?

  I've been searching through this website and have seen multiple references to time deltas, but haven't quite found what I'm looking for. Basically, I have a list of messages that are received by a comms server and I want to calcuate the latency time between each message out and in. It looks like this: 161336.934072 - TMsg out: [O] enter order. RefID [123] OrdID [4568] 161336.934159 - TMsg in: [A] accepted. ordID [456] RefNumber [123] Mixed in with these messages are other messages as well, however, I only want to capture the difference between the Out messages and in messages with the same RefID. So far, to sort out from the main log which messages are Tmessages I've been doing this, but it's really inefficient. I don't need to be making new files everytime.: big_file = open('C:/Users/kdalton/Documents/Minicomm.txt', 'r') small_file1 = open('small_file1.txt', 'w') for line in big_file: if 'T' in line: small_file1.write(line) big_file.close() small_file1.close() How do I calculate the time deltas between the two messages and sort out these messages from the main log?

I guess it gets optimized away - normally it should first make a copy for the return value, then call assignment operator once more to assign it to variable sc.   Ideally I would love to extract exactly what Google Finance's Get Quote functionality does with the predictive search. That's really all that I'm looking for. I don't want to store the data, I just want to be able to search company names/ticker symbols so that I can get the correct symbol. I already have specialized quote functionality in place. Also, the search functionality needs to be intuitive. I've looked through Google Finance API but haven't seen exactly what it is that I'm looking for. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

  I figured out that in order to turn [some name] into [some_name] I need to use the following expression: s/\(\[[^ ]*\) /\1_/ i.e. create a backreference capture for anything that starts with a literal '[' that contains any number of non space characters, followed by a space, to be replaced with the non space characters followed by an underscore. What I don't know yet though is how to alter this expression so it works for ALL underscores within the braces e.g. [a few words] into [a_few_words]. I sense that I'm close, but am just missing a chunk of knowledge that will unlock the key to making this thing work an infinite number of times within the constraints of the first set of []s contained in a line (of SQL Server DDL in this case). Any suggestions gratefully received....

• Reporting sanitized user input to the user via AJAX

  I am writing some code to give live feedback to the user on the validation of a form using AJAX. I have got it checking length and if the field is empty. Now I want it to sanitize the users input and if the sanatized input differs from the users original input then tell them which characters are not allowed. The code I have written so far works except some characters most notably a '£' symbol result in no response. I think it relates to json_encode and its encoding.   In an ActionScript 2 project I can create a new MovieClip, right-click on it on the library and select "Component Definition" to add parameters that can be referenced inside the MovieClip. This parameters can be easily changed in the MovieClips's properties. Now, I'm working on an ActionScript 3 project but haven't been able to figure out a way to obtain the values passed in those parameters. I defined a parameter named "textToDisplay" but when I write the following in the Actions for the first frame I get an error: trace(textToDisplay); This is the error: 1120: Access of undefined property textToDisplay. • NoMethodError when trying to invoke helper method from Rails controller

  I'm getting a NoMethodError when trying to access a method defined in one of my helper modules from one of my controller classes. My Rails application uses the helper class method with the :all symbol as shown below: class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base helper :all . . end My understanding is that this should make all of my controller classes automatically include all of the helper modules within the app/helpers directory, therefore mixing in all of the methods into the controllers. Is this correct? If I explicitly include the helper module within the controller then everything works correctly.

• How to resize pdf graphics produced in R using Illustrator

  I am making plots in R using the pdf() command. Graphs look perfect and resize nicely in Acrobat Reader. My usual workflow includes manipulating labels etc. in Illustrator, saving as .eps for submission to publishers or inserting in Word. All works fine for single graphs. Now I am trying to combine 4 graphs into one by manually putting them together in an A4 Illustrator document. However, when I resize the standard 7x7 inches pdf graph in Illustrator to fit in one column of an A4 page (ca 3.4 inches wide), all proportions get screwed up, e.g. lines and symbols outlines become way too thick. Using pdf(..., width=3.4, height=3.4) in R messes up all the symbol and font sizes so carefully chosen to produce the original graph. Why can't I resize the graph within Illustrator the same way I can resize the pdf e.g. in Acrobat Reader?

The format of the split function I am using is also the same except, of course, for the delimiting character. What causes this variation?

  I have a table column called post_tags within a table called posts where assigned tags are stored separated by the @ symbol. I also have a table called tags where all tag names are stored. I would like to design my database in a more normalized way but for the purpose I am trying to achieve this is the easiest option. Anyway, I want to display on the screen all the entries from the tags table as checkboxes, so I do: $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM tags ORDER BY name"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $tag = $row['name']; echo "<input type='checkbox' name='tags[]' value='$tag' />\n"; } Next I want to have the tags that are assigned to a particular post be preselected. For example, if I have a post with the following in it's post_tags column: party@beaches@dolphins@ I want the "party", "beaches" and "dolphin" checkboxes to be checked by default (while the checkboxes for the other options are unchecked). How can this be done?

• Comparing two speech sounds

  I need to be able to determine if two sounds are very similar. The goal is to have a very limited vocabulary (10 or 15) of short one or two syllable words, then compare a captured sound to determine if it is one of those items with all the usual variability in environmental and capture conditions. The idea is that the user can issue a few simple commands by voice instead of keyboard or mouse. Does anyone know the best approach to this? I don't want to do full blown speech recognition, just something much more limited.

Time (the column) is a date time in my database, and I can only see sedDate and setTime method but I want to store both - also my code does not work anyway ;-) if anyone could give me some pointers on inserting a combined date time (current time would be a great help as that's my first goal) into a MySql DB using a prepared statement I would be very grateful.   I am trying to install an application and a group of services using PSTools, but I want to take into account that the computer I am trying to connect to may be turned off or on a different network, which is not reachable from the internal network. Basically if the machine is not able to be accessed through the admin share, this is the message that I am getting: Couldn't access MachineName: The network path was not found. Make sure that the default admin$ share is enabled on MachineName. • How can I dismiss the view appeared by touching Add item in UINavigationController ?

  I have added add(+ symbol button) button to my navigation controller. When I click it a view appears from bottom. I added a navigation bar and two buttons to it. One save and one cancel button. And the view have one textEdit box. After editing I can save or cancel. If I touch cancel I need the view to disappear like it should go down again. I think all iPhone , iPodTouch users use it. Like when they touch Add item then a view appears from bottom and when they cancel it goes down again. How can I make in this way in my application.

  Hi All, Was wondering if anyone had any smart approaches to creating dynamic vanity user urls upon user registration. My site basically uses emails as usernames. I have the regex to strip the text before the "@" symbol (e.g. "[email protected]" becomes "name") I would then like to take the "name" and create a vanity url (e.g. domain.com/name or name.domain.com) Any thoughts on how to accomplish this with Wordpress? I'm a pretty advanced Wordpress user and my first thoughts were to do the following Verify user registration Upon successful user registration create page name with username as the title (this would help me achieve the www.domain.com/username) Apply preset template to that page with the desired view Any and all thoughts are welcome.
