  • How to gather arbitrary length list data in ASP.NET MVC.

    - by C. Ross
I need to gather a list of items associated with another item from my user in a ASP.NET MVC project. I would like to have a controller action like bellow. [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Create(int x, int y, IEnumerable<int> zKeys) { //Do stuff here } How can I setup my form to pass data in this way? If data of this particular form can't be provided, what's the next best way to pass this type of information in ASP.NET MVC?

  • How do I create a "global variable" in Java such that all classes can access it?

    - by Chrystle Soh
here's my problem: I have multiple classes that are part of the same package and they need access to a certain file path String filePath = "D:/Users/Mine/School/Java/CZ2002_Assignment/src/" Rather than declaring the same Filepath in every single class, is it possible to simply have a "global" type of variable of this FilePath so that all classes can access it and I only need to declare and update it once. Thanks

  • Why can't i define recursive variable in code block?

    - by senia
    Why can't i define a variable recursively in a code block? scala> { | val fibs: Stream[Int] = 1 #:: fibs.scanLeft(1){_ + _} | } <console>:9: error: forward reference extends over definition of value fibs val fibs: Stream[Int] = 1 #:: fibs.scanLeft(1){_ + _} ^ scala> val fibs: Stream[Int] = 1 #:: fibs.scanLeft(1){_ + _} fibs: Stream[Int] = Stream(1, ?) lazy keyword solves this problem, but i can't understand why it works without a code block but throws a compilation error in a code block.

  • Unittest in Django. Static variable feeded into the test case

    - by ziang
I want to generate some dynamic data and feed these data in to test cases. But I found that Django will initial the test class every time to do the test. So the data will get generated every time django test framework calls the function. Is there anyway to use something like the singleton or static variable to solve the problem? What should be the solution? Thanks!

  • Find consecutive sub-vectors of length k out of a numeric vector which satisfy a given condition

    - by user3559153
I have a numeric vector in R, say v= c(2,3,5,6,7,6,3,2,3,4,5,7,8,9,6,1,1,2,5,6,7,11,2,3,4). Now, I have to find all the consecutive sub-vector of size 4 out of it with the condition that each element of the sub-vector must be greater than 2 and all sub-vector must be disjoint in the sense that non of the two sub-vector can contain same index element. So my output will be: (3,5,6,7),(3,4,5,7),(5,6,7,11). [Explanation: c(2,3,5,6,7,6,3,2,3,4,5,7,8,9,6,1,3,2,5,6,7,11,2,3,4) ]

  • Is there a limitation to the length of the query in mysql?

    - by Bakhtiyor
I am asking this question because I need to know this limitation as I am generating SELECT query in my PHP script and the part of WHERE in this query is generated inside the loop. Precisely it looks like this $query="SELECT field_names FROM table_name WHERE "; $condition="metadata like \"%$uol_metadata_arr[0]%\" "; for($i=1; $i<count($uol_metadata_arr); $i++){ $condition.=" OR metadata like \"%$uol_metadata_arr[$i]%\" "; } $query.=$condition; $result=mysql_query($query); So, that's why I need to know how long my $query string can be, because the array *$uol_metadata_arr* could contain many items.

  • Finding k elements of length-n list that sum to less than t in O(nlogk) time

    - by tresbot
This is from Programming Pearls ed. 2, Column 2, Problem 8: Given a set of n real numbers, a real number t, and an integer k, how quickly can you determine whether there exists a k-element subset of the set that sums to at most t? One easy solution is to sort and sum the first k elements, which is our best hope to find such a sum. However, in the solutions section Bentley alludes to a solution that takes nlog(k) time, though he gives no hints for how to find it. I've been struggling with this; one thought I had was to go through the list and add all the elements less than t/k (in O(n) time); say there are m1 < k such elements, and they sum to s1 < t. Then we are left needing k - m1 elements, so we can scan through the list again in O(n) time looking for all elements less than (t - s1)/(k - m1). Add in again, to get s2 and m2, then again if m2 < k, look for all elements less than (t - s2)/(k - m2). So: def kSubsetSumUnderT(inList, k, t): outList = [] s = 0 m = 0 while len(outList) < k: toJoin = [i for i in inList where i < (t - s)/(k - m)] if len(toJoin): if len(toJoin) >= k - m: toJoin.sort() if(s0 + sum(toJoin[0:(k - m - 1)]) < t: return True return False outList = outList + toJoin s += sum(toJoin) m += len(toJoin) else: return False My intuition is that this might be the O(nlog(k)) algorithm, but I am having a hard time proving it to myself. Thoughts?

  • How to pass a variable to a IN clause?

    - by Thanu
Lets say I have a SP that has a SELECT statements as follows, SELECT product_id, product_price FROM product WHERE product_type IN ('AA','BB','CC'); But data goes to that IN clause must be through a single variable that contains the string of values. Something link below SELECT product_id, product_price FROM product WHERE product_type IN (input_variables); But its not working that way. Any idea how to do this?

  • How to apply %% to a variable in a script with input parameter?

    - by murxx
Hi, I asked a question yesterday about how to manage to get %% around a variable without getting the evaluation. Well, the thing is, it does not work that way in my case... I have a .bat file which gets an input parameter. Later on I want to use the value of this input parameter and put %...% around, like: call script.bat testValue script.bat: set inputPar=%1 set newValue=%%inputPar%% Now I get: echo %inputPar% testValue echo %newValue% %inputPar% But I would like to get: echo %newValue% %testValue% Is that somehow possible?
