• Sort Grid Columns of mixed type in EXTJS Grid

  Hello, I want to sort the extjs columns, I have the column type as float and from the server side i am getting values which can contain "-" value , now what happens the grid is displaying me the NaN value instead of - and the sort is not working anymore. My requirement is to create a custom sort which can sort first based on number and then sort based on string. Thanks to suggest as renderer also not works for me. • WinCE and PC USB communication

  We are developing some device and we need to find good solution for one of needed functionality. Thing is that we need communicate WinCE 6.0 (ARM) and Windows on PC. Easiest way is of course COM port but in our case it is impossible (all serial ports are used on WinCE and we don't want to add one more). Second option is LAN but for us it is not the best option for few reasons. So there is third option we could use. USB to USB communication but how to do that ? Of course WinCE is USB Device and PC is USB Host so all hardware basics are meet. We could use Active sync but there are few problems with it: - WinCE 6.0 is not working with WMDC (drivers on device just crash after connecting device with PC) and I didn't find any solution for it so in this case we need to use WinXP on PC side (old ActiveSync) - we need to filter communication with active sync to only our application, no other non authorized software should be allowed (what I know this is imposible to obtain). So propably best way to do what we need is to communicate throug USB like standard COM (serial communication). The question is, how it could be made, are we need to write driver on WinCE and also a Driver on Windows (PC), or there are better solution? Maybe some driver for WinCE 6.0 that would emulate Virtual COM on PC side (and of course allow standard Read/Write to it on WinCE side) ? Could someone tell me if something like that exists ?

• How to format individual DropDownlist Items (color, etc.) during onDataBinding event

  Hi, I have a basic DropDownList bound to a ObjectDataSource: <asp:DropDownList ID="DropDownList1" runat="server" AutoPostBack="True" DataSourceID="objDataSource1" DataTextField="FieldName" DataValueField="FieldID" /> The DataTable from which it receives the DataTextField and DataValueField values also returns some other interesting information about the records. Say Active = Y/N for simplicity's sake. What I'd like to do is to set the background-color property of the DropDownList Item based on that Active field in the DataSource results. Further, I'd like to do this "in the same pass" as when the DropDownList is bound to the data. So my guess is that it has to happen during OnDataBinding. Things I already know/tried: I could go back and loop through the DropDownList items later. But it would involve embedding loops and re-visiting the DataTable rows and it just seems inefficient int row; for (row = 0; row < DropDownList1.Items.Count - 1; row++) { [[if this row = that data row]] DropDownList1.Items[row].[[DoStuffHere, etc.]] } We already do stuff like this with the GridView OnRowDataBound event, by accessing the GridViewRowEventArgs e. • Enumerating computers in NT4 domain using WNetEnumResourceW (C++) or DirectoryEntry (C#)

  I'm trying to enumerate computers in NT4 domains (not Active Directory) and support Unicode NetBIOS names. According to MSDN, WNetEnumResourceW is the Unicode counterpart of WNetEnumResource which to me would imply that using this would do the trick. However, I have not been able to get Unicode NetBIOS names properly using WNetEnumResourceW. I've also tried the C# rough equivalent DirectoryEntry using the WinNT: provider with no luck on Unicode names either. If I use DirectoryEntry on Active Directory (using the LDAP: provider) I do get Unicode names back. I noticed that during some debugging my code using DirectoryEntry and the WinNT: provider, the exceptions I saw were of type System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException which tends to make me believe that this is just calling WNetEnumResourceW via COM. This web page implies that for some Net APIs the MS documentation is incomplete and possibly inaccurate which further confuses things. Additionally I've found that using the C# method which certainly results in cleaner, more understandable code also yields incomplete results in enumerating computers in domains\workgroups. Does anyone have any insight on this? Is it possible that computer acting as the WINS server is mangling the name? How would I determine this? Thanks

• Is it possible to guarantee a unique id for multiple items using the same id variable at a point in

  First of all, do not be overwhelmed by the long code, I just put it for reference...I have a function that preg_replaces content and puts it in a jquery dialog box with a matching open-link. For example, if there is a paragraph with two matches, they will be put inside two divs, and a jquery dialog function will be echoed twice; one for each div. While this works for one match, if there are multiple matches, it does not. I am not sure how to distribute unique ids at a point in time for each of the divs and matching dialog open-scripts. Keep in mind, I removed the preg replace function since it kind of complicates the problem. • Creating PowerShell Automatic Variables from C#

  I trying to make automatic variables available to Excel VBA (like ActiveSheet or ActiveCell) also available to PowerShell as 'automatic variables'. PowerShell engine is hosted in an Excel VSTO add-in and Excel.Application is available to it as Globals.ThisAddin.Application. I found this thread here on StackOverflow and started created PSVariable derived classes like: public class ActiveCell : PSVariable { public ActiveCell(string name) : base(name) { } public override object Value { get { return Globals.ThisAddIn.Application.ActiveCell; } } } public class ActiveSheet : PSVariable { public ActiveSheet(string name) : base(name) { } public override object Value { get { return Globals.ThisAddIn.Application.ActiveSheet; } } } and adding their instances to the current POwerShell session: runspace.SessionStateProxy.PSVariable.Set(new ActiveCell("ActiveCell")); runspace.SessionStateProxy.PSVariable.Set(new ActiveSheet("ActiveSheet")); This works and I am able to use those variables from PowerShell as $ActiveCell and $ActiveSheet (their value change as Excel active sheet or cell change). Then I read PSVariable documentation here and saw this: "There is no established scenario for deriving from this class. To programmatically create a shell variable, create an instance of this class and set it by using the PSVariableIntrinsics class." As I was deriving from PSVariable, I tried to use what was suggested: PSVariable activeCell = new PSVariable("ActiveCell"); activeCell.Value = Globals.ThisAddIn.Application.ActiveCell; runspace.SessionStateProxy.PSVariable.Set(activeCell); Using this, $ActiveCell appears in my PowerShell session, but its value doesn't change as I change the active cell in Excel. Is the above comment from PSVariable documentation something I should worry about, or I can continue creating PSVariable derived classes? Is there another way of making Excel globals available to PowerShell?

• MFC (C++) CDialog DoModal() not working as expected

  Hi, I have a plugin that is loaded by this application.. This plugin calls some dialog boxes with DoModal(). I'm expecting these dialog boxes to function like this: If I click on the application window behind the dialog box, the dialog box flashes and does not allow the application to be in focus. However, in one of the other dialog boxes, called with DoModal(), if I click on the application window, it doesn't do the flashing thing, and after a while the application's close/minimize buttons become active (well, just the color). They're not really active and the window turns somewhat white and the title bar says (Not Responding)... What could possibly be wrong and how do I fix it? I've tried setting the dialog box's properties to System Modal: True, and Set Foreground: True but it doesn't seem to work.. :( Thanks.. EDIT: I'd like to note that the in the Windows taskbar, there is only one entry for the application for the correct behavior, but when the dialog box with the incorrect behavior is launched, another "window" is launched.. So it looks like (Application)(Dialog box title).. The effect I'm trying to achieve is just (Application)..

• How do you export or release a Mac OS X program made in Xcode? Program does not load on other comput

  I made a program in Xcode, being a simple calculator that takes a first number, and a second number, and then either adds,subtracts,multiplies, or divides depending on the radio button. I build and run and the program comes up and works fine. When I went to show my friends on their macs, when you double click on the program the program pops in the tray for like .05 seconds and then disappears and we never can actually run the program. It still works perfect however on my computer. What am I doing wrong? How can I take the program I made, and run it on different macs? I have the release set to 10.5 but the active SDK to 10.6. It runs in both 10.5 and 10.6 simulators. One friend has 10.6.3 like me and the other has 10.5.x(cant remember the last part). To get the app, I changed from debug to release and set active SDK to 10.5. Then in the release folder I found the app and sent that over iChat. I feel this will be a problem in the future if I ever make a legit application to distribute. Thank you!

  I have a tree of categories and courses in my SEAM application. Courses may be active and inactive. I want to be able to show only active or all courses in my tree. I've decided to always build complete tree in my PAGE scope component since building this tree is quite expensive operation. I have boolean flag courseActive in the data wrapped by TreeNode<T>. Now I can't find the way to show courses node only if this flag is true.   Hey, I want to get the 5 latest active topics within several category's. Each topic has a subcatid and this subcatid relates to a catid. What I want is to get the 5 active topics within each catid. When I moved this code to client's production server - they use SQL 2000, I started getting "Incorrect syntax near '(' ". I've tried changing the ProviderManifestToken to 2000 in my .edmx file, then I started getting "The execution of this query requires the APPLY operator, which is not supported in versions of SQL Server earlier than SQL Server 2005." I tied changing the token to 2005, the "Incorrect syntax near '(' " is back. Can anybody help me to find a workaround for this? Thank you very much in advance!

  Generally there is a category menu and each link to a category page where shows all the items under that category. Now I need to show all the categories and products underneath with PHP/MySQL in the same page. So it will be like this. Category 1 description of category 1 item 1 item 2 .. Category 2 description of category 2 item 5 item 6 .. Category 3 description of category 3 item 8 item 9 ... ... I have category and product table in my database. But I am not sure how to proceed.   FYI: I am completely new to using cursors... Because I saw some syntax in the Postgres docs showed a function being created w/ a input parameter that had a type 'tablename' this works, but it has to be a tablename not a function :( I know I am so close, I was told to use cursors to pass records around. So I studied up. Please help.

• Prestashop - quick development questions

  Sorry to post here about this but no one at the prestashop forum seems active enough to help. I thought maybe someone here on stackoverflow might have worked with prestashop. I started using Prestashop yesterday so I’m a total beginner, but I’m very experienced in web development, I do have some quick questions though. I’ve googled around but it causes me great frustration since I don’t really know what I’m looking for or what’s avaiable. Is there absolutely no API for this? I mean I found the wiki but it holds no good information. I want to edit my theme completely, as I wish. Edit html, add/remove js, just being able to do what I want, but when I edit the tpl files in my active theme, NOTHING happens. The site remains exactly the same. Why is this, or where do I change it without hacking the core? Do I have to recompile these .tpl files in some way for the changes to take affect? I also want to edit alot of the modules to match my demands, but same here, if I edit their tpl files nothing seems to happen or rather I don’t want to hack the core, since I suppose these will be affected if I update the platform. Where do I find my products page, I want to create a menu with a link to a page called products or something with an overview of the products avaiable in my store. I’m very confused, but I guess you just have to get through this, I’m used to developing in wordpress or without any cms for that matter. Sorry if my questions are very basic and probably have been answered before. :<

• Best Method For High Data Availability for SQL Server

  I have a web service that runs 24/7. Periodically it needs to refresh its database with data from another web service. There is a lot of data. It's tens of thousands of rows. (no, I don't mean this is a lot of data for SQL Server, just trying to point out that I expect it to take some time to come down the pipe from the other web service) The data refresh can take between 5 and 10 minutes. The actual data update portion of that is between 1 and 2 minutes. This means the service would be down for all intents and purposes when consumers would be requesting this type of data. I would like to implement a system where data is always available. The only thing that comes to mind is some type of system where I maintain two separate databases. I populate the inactive one, swapping it to active before populating the other one. I'm not sure I know the best way to do this. My current ideas just revolve around two sets of the schema in a single database (using views to access the active set) or two databases each with the same schema. The application would rotate between the two databases. Any suggestions from someone who has done something like this before?

• How can I solve this CSS links inheritance problem?

  It's stumped me an I've tried a couple of things - then again I'm not very experienced so I may just be going about it the wrong way. Basically I want to have different link styles for both the navigation and the pagination. The #navigation styling is overriding my .pagination styling though, and it doesn't appear to matter if the pagination is a class or an ID. • CSS to create curved corner between two elements?

  My UI has an unordered list on the left. When a list item is selected, a div appears on the right of it. I'd like to have a curved outer corner where the <li> and the <div> meet. See the white arrow in the image below. To extend the blue <li> to the edge of the <ul>, I'm planning to do something like this: li { right-margin: 2em; border-radius: 8px; } li.active { right-margin: 0; border-bottom-right-radius: 0; border-top-right-radius: 0; } Is there a better way to extend the <li> to the edge of the <ul>? Obviously, I'll include the webkit and mozilla border radius CSS as well. The main thing I'm unsure about is that outer corner underneath the bottom right corner of the active <li>. I have some ideas, but they seem like hacks. Any suggestions? NOTE that the <ul> is indicated in grey, but it would be white in the real design. Also, I'm planning to use Javascript to position the <div> correctly when an <li> is selected.

• How Many States Does an Activity Have?

  The Activity lifecycle section in the Application Fundamentals tutorial states that there are 3 states: An activity has essentially three states: (1. active/running 2. paused 3. stopped) But then as I continued reading the actual Activity class documentation, the Activity Lifecycle section states that there are 4 state: An activity has essentially four states: (1. active/running 2. paused 3. stopped 4. "dropped"?) Both sources (on the same website) agree about the first 3, but the 4th one is only mentioned in the class documentation and is unnamed. So, are there really 4 states or only 3? If there are 4, what is the name of the 4th one? Please help me understand this discrepancy. Also, highlighted colored blocks in this beautiful and very informative flowchart don't seem to correspond to the states. Where, in the flowchart, would you mark the 3 or 4 states?
