  • What Triggers a syncronization between Exchange 2007 Mail Store and Edge Servers?

    We are using Exchange 2007 for our mail. In our configuration, we need to add an alias to each users mailbox. When we do, the Edge server, another Exchange 2007 box, will reject the alias with a User Unknown error until the next morning. I seem to recall that in Exchange 2003, you could force an update from the Management console, but I can not find a way in 2007. It is obvious that a sync job is scheduled to run each night, but I cannot find it.

  • Can a BIND server be a slave to a non-BIND master DNS server?

    If I have a master DNS that is not bind - can bind still slave to it? (ie does it use the DNS protocol or something else?). Kind of related - but do people still do this or do they use some other form of data replication to keep DNS records in sync to the slaves (ie file/database copying)? I would like to have the slaves refreshed as fast as possible so I am thinking normal slaving with is expiry/poll based might not be optimal?

    someone can help me understanding arp spoofing prevention on dlink dgs-3100 (ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DGS-3100-48P/REVA/DGS-3100-48P_MANUAL_3.60_EN.PDF). I'd like to protect my gateway MAC/IP from spoofing so I'have tryed to add a rule "IP: 192.168.1.1 MAC: aa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa" flagging all the port of the switch as untrusted. When I apply the rule I lose connection to all pc attached to the switch. I certanly made some errors, but I can't understand what is wrong. Best Regards

    A client wants us to push data files to them on a daily basis using SFTP (ssh over ftp). We are a 100% Microsoft shop with no Linux admins on staff. I am looking for recommendations on how to do achieve this. I have seen different applications for automating the sending of files via SFTP, but I don't know if they are a good approach or not. What have you found to be the easiest way to deal with this in a Microsoft Environment?

    I use Little Snitch to monitor network connections on OS X, and I frequently see attempts by something called pubsubagent to connect to many varying sites. What is this program for and why does it use so many connections? According to this article it's used by .me sync to synchronize RSS feeds and bookmarks. But I don't have any RSS feeds. And if it's synching bookmarks, then why is it going to places like 'l.google.com' (and many more random ones) instead of just to .me?

  • How can I verify the integrity of a WAN connection?

    We have two scanners in our branch office which upload images to the head office via FTP. In the last week, both scanners have started delivering a lot of corrupted images. I suspect that the problem may be with the WAN link, and that TCP might not be detecting/correcting all errors. Is there any software for Windows that allows me to test the integrity of the connection by sending packets with an embedded CRC?

    I updated my server from lenny to squeeze and Ispconfig. I got everything back in place except a right problems. if i us "mkdir" with php i get : permission denied. whoami return : "www-data" File owner are like before (for example web54:client4), same for directory Ftp user work fine, create new file and edit file with the same right (web54:client4) I don't understand why it does'nt work in php and I don't have any idea where to look now ? The only common library used between the 2 apps is the FlurryAgent.jar for analytics. For the top app I have For the bottom app I have in the manifests. The only information I have been able to find out is about libraries (GSON) and needing to use dx but I am using Eclipse so that doesn't help. To make this more difficult, the error does NOT occur on the Android Market. Yet the testers at Amazon say that it FC 5/5 times on each of their devices (I tried using an emulator for their test devices and they worked fine). I know they use "wrapper" code around my app and I think it must be interfering in some way. Does anyone have any experience with this?

We have two isa rule: order name action protocolls from/listener to condition 1. trafic ALLOW all outbound all networks all networks all users 2. FTP ALLOW FTP Server EXTERNAL/INTERNAL/Local host 10.1.1.1 So we have to "bann" a few webpage (like facebook, youtube...etc...), so we make a new rule 0. banned DENY HTTP internal denied pages all users In the denied pages we have the *.facebook.com domain set. After we enable this rule, the entire internet slows down. The banning rule works well, redirect to an internal site, but the other sites.... If i open a page..it normally takes 3-10 sec to load, but after this rule this time is: 2-4 minutes. Apache service stopped. In the Xamp port check menu i see: Service POrt Status Apache (http) 80 Process: System Maybee this is the problem? I dont know what should i do now... Thank you folks.

    I have a problem with drive cloning. Im using dd on damaged disk with bad sectors trying to make an image from it. Im booting computer with Live Linux CD . Damaged disk: sda 146GB (NTFS) External drive: sdb 300GB (NTFS) After running the command below im running out of space on disk sdb. dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb/hdd.img bs=4096 conv=noerror,sync The question is why im running out of space on disk sdb ?

    We're considering using Google Apps as groupware, with our Mac and Linux users (and likely a few of the Windows users as well) accessing mail and calendar using Thunderbird with Lightning. We seem to have worked out most features, but have not found a way to access Global Address List. Is there a way to sync the Global Address List to Thunderbird? Update: The Zindus addon as suggested by @superuser, does not have support for Global Address List from Google Apps (it does however support GAL from a Zimbra server)

  • Multi-core processors: Better performance running multiple applications?

    I realize for single applications - the application itself has to be designed to take advantage of multiple cores. But what about executing many different applications simultaneously? On my development machine at an average instance, I run multiple servers (a database server, a web server), multiple instance of IDEs (either Visual Studio or NetBeans), Web-browser with multiple tabs (in Chrome, each tab is a process on its own), FTP client, SSH client etc. Does having a multi-core system improve the ability to run multiple applications simultaneously?
