• Python script repeated auto start up.

  I am designing a python web app, where people can have an email sent to them on a particular day. So a user puts in his emai and date in a form and it gets stored in my database. My script would then search through the database looking for all records of todays date, retrive the email, sends them out and deletes the entry from the table. Is it possible to have a setup, where the script starts up automatically at a give time, say 1 pm everyday, sends out the email and then quits? If I have a continuously running script, i might go over the CPU limit of my shared web hosting. Or is the effect negligible? Ali

• Orientation in a UIView added to a UIWindow

  OK, bear with me. I have a UIView which is supposed to cover the whole device (UIWindow) to support an image zoom in/out effect I'm doing using core animation where a user taps a button on a UITableViewCell and I zoom the associated image. The zooming is performing flawlessly, what I haven't been able to figure out is why the subview is still in portrait mode even though the device is in landscape. • jqgrid scrollable dialog

  I have a jqGrid that has add/edit dialogs with a form that's longer than the dialog height but the dialog won't scroll. I've tried to add an overflow: auto style to the dialog but no effect: $("div.ui-jqdialog-content").css("overflow", "auto"); Although, if I change auto to scroll, I at least see a scrollbar but still no scrolling: $("div.ui-jqdialog-content").css("overflow", "scroll"); This at least gives me a small glimmer of hope that I'm on the right track. • jQuery slideToggle flicker in Firefox

  I have a specific situation with slideToggle that creates a flicker in Firefox. The situation was when the expanding element goes longer than the page and a vertical scrollbar appears in Firefox. If you scroll down to read all of the text in the expanding element and then click on the trigger to close the element, Firefox would flash for a second and then the page readjusts and returns to its position before the expanded element was expanded. I have tried adding ‘return false;’ to no avail. • iphone - Programmatically set (System-wide) proxy settings?

  I am new to iPhone development, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I am developing an application whose purpose will be to route all iPhone activity through my company's proxy. Is there a way to programmatically set system-wide proxy settings in the iPhone (which will also take effect on the 3G connection)? I know there is a way to manually set proxy settings for each wifi connection. Detecting new networks and setting the proxy on them would be acceptable. However, I need to also be able to set the proxy on the 3G connection. Also, bonus: Is there a way to programmatically change the "Restrictions" settings? If anyone has any tips or can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Thanks. EDIT: Please understand that this is for a legitimate purpose. Apple has to approve app store additions, so it's not like I'm trying to spread a virus. Please, constructive answers only.

• issues horizontal scrolling using jQuery.ScrollTo / jQuery.SerialScroll

  Hi, I am trying to develop auto horizontal scrolling for our website using - jQuery.ScrollTo / jQuery.SerialScroll. I am not sure if this is the best jquery library to do that, but if there's something better, please let me know. Here's the behavior that I want, check out foursquare's "Recent Activity" list. The data that will refresh will come from a ajax request that I make every few seconds using window.setInterval. I am not really a CSS/java script guy so I havent been able to figure out jQuery.SerialScroll. Here's the website - look at the "Live job Feeds" list. Currently the list does refresh the data coming from the ajax call, but I dont see the effect, the animation, in fact I dont even think serialScroll is being used. Right now I am doing a - $('#feed-ticker').prepend(content) to pre-append the newly arrived data. You can do a view source to look at the current code. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

• UIView removeFromSuperView animation delay

  I have a method which animates one of the subviews of UIWindow and then removes it from UIWindow using removeFromSuperview. But when I put removeFromSuperview after animation block, the animation never shows, because removeFromSuperview removes the UIView from UIWindow before the animation plays :-( How can I delay removeFromSuperview so the animation plays first, and then subview is removed? I tried [NSThread sleepForTimeInterval:1]; after animation block but that didn't have desired effect, because animation sleeps too for some reason. • umbraco tiny MCE 3 internet explorer insert link error

  Hi, I have an instalation of Umbraco 4.0.2.1. In internet explorer (6 / 7) i get an error when trying to insert a link using the tiny MCE rich text editor. basicaly what happens is i can choose the node in the site i want to link to but when i click insert it reloads but the tiny MCE popup does not dissapear and i get the following page error. Line: 368 Char: 9 Error: 'the Form._SCROLLPOSITIONX.value' is null or not an object code: 0 URL: "mydev server"/umbraco/plugins/tinymce3/insertLink.aspx I dont get this problem in Firefox and i have other instalations of umbraco 4.0.2.1 in which this error does not occur. I have tried using WinMerge to comparing the code of the two instalations and they seem identical in all the places i can think would have an effect on tinyMCE ("bin", "umbraco_client\tinymce3", "umbraco\plugins\tinymce3") I am pulling my hair out over this and any help would be very much appreciated.

  I have implemented a REST server using Spring Boot 1.0.2. I'm having trouble preventing Spring from setting HTTP headers that disable HTTP caching. Call httpResponse.setHeader("Cache-Control", "max-age=123") in the controller. Define @Bean that returns WebContentInterceptor for which I've called setCacheSeconds(-1). Set property spring.resources.cache-period to -1 or a positive value in application.properties. None of the above have had any effect. How do I disable or change these headers for all or individual requests in Spring Boot?

  Hi, I just downloaded xcode 3.2.3 (seperate directory installation) and ios 4 to my iphone. I'm having a problem with networkActivityIndicatorVisible. This works on 3.1.3, both phone and simulator. My code is (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; UIApplication* app2 = [UIApplication sharedApplication]; app2.networkActivityIndicatorVisible = YES; [self loadSources]; // Loads data in table view app2.networkActivityIndicatorVisible = NO; } I get the same effect in the simulator and on the phone both with ios 4.o The networkActivity indicator becomes visible for a fraction of a second and then invisible and this is done after loading the data for the tableView.   I am trying to use the ProgressBar Flex component inside a custom Actionscript 3.0 component derived from the UIComponent class. • midl.exe cannot load mscorlib.tlb

  I'm trying to use midl to turn an idl file into a tlb. However, when I try I get this warning: warning MIDL2015: failed to load tlb in importlib : mscorlib.tlb and I then get a subsequent error: error MIDL2337 : unsatisfied forward declaration : _Object..... I'm certain that the error is due to the first warning. I've tried the same command on a different machine and it succeeds, so I know that the idl file is correct. I've tried uninstalling the .NET framework and reinstalling it in the hope that that would fix things, but it had no effect. So my question is, what do I need to fix on my machine to allow midl to locate mscorlib.tlb once more?

• Error LNK1223 on ARM builds

  eMbedded Visual C++ 3 project, building for PocketPC 2000. On the ARM build, the linker throws the following error: fatal error LNK1223: invalid or corrupt file: file contains invalid pdata contributions On SH3, the project compiles, links, and works. The project also works when built for ARM on Visual C++ 2005, but I need to test builds specifically from eVC3. Any ideas, please? What's a pdata contribution and how do I affect (or disable) those? It's something to do with exception handling; I've tried disabling SEH by specifying /EHsc, to no effect.

Is there an easy way to do that? Update: yes, flushing will not properly fix it, but I've seen it help such situations to some degree, and this is all I need in this case. I want to make a single api call to stop power save mode and then restore it once the task is done.   I am using tolua++ to export some C++ classes to Lua. My understanding that each class is 'implemented' on the lua side, as a lua table. I am wondering if it is possible therefore, to add new (Lua) methods to the C++ object table so that I can achieve the effect of adding new methods to the C++ class. Assume that I am exporting the class Foobar. Methods of Foobar will be accessisble in Lua as follows: Foobar:method1() Foobar:method2() ... etc. I would like to be able to add new methods (newmethod1, and newmethod2) to the Foobar table "object" I have the following questions: Is it possible to 'extend' the functionality of an exported C++ object in the manner I described above? How would one go about add new functions to the Foobar table? (I am relatively new to Lua)

That being said, I am attempting to write an add-on that makes some configuration changes and needs to restart Firefox in order to have the changes take effect. I am currently restarting Firefox using the following code: var boot = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/toolkit/app-startup;1"].getService(Components.interfaces.nsIAppStartup); boot.quit(Components.interfaces.nsIAppStartup.eForceQuit|Components.interfaces.nsIAppStartup.eRestart); The problem is, it restarts and opens the browser window(s) to whatever the users homepage is currently set to. I want it to re-open all windows / tabs that were previously open before the restart (similar to what happens when you install a new add-on). Anyone ever messed with this type of functionality before?

• Can I use a MIME type declaration to get an HTML file to open in MS Word?

• UIWebView NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData doesn't actually ignore the cache

  I have a UIWebView object, with the caching-policy specified as: NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData This should ignore whatever objects are in the local cache and retrieve the latest version of a site from the web. However, after the first load of the site (10 resources in trace, HTTP GET), all subsequent loads of the site only retrieve a small subset of resources (3 resources in trace, HTTP GET). The images all appear to be loaded from some local source. I have confirmed that my sharedURLCache has a memory usage of 0 bytes, and a disk usage of 0 bytes. Whenever the process starts fresh, the full version of the site is retrieved again. This leads me to believe that these resources are being stored in an in-memory cache, but as I noted before, [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] currentMemoryUsage] returns 0. I have also tried explicitly removing the cached response for my request, but this seems to have no effect. What gives?

• HTTPHeaders Added to Downloaded File - CocoaHTTPServer???

  In an iPhone app where I use cocoahttpserver and take a sqlite database file from the iPhone and download it with a browser to my PC, when I look at the downloaded file using TextEdit, I see the text (below) at the end of the file. This text has apparently no effect on use of the database file, but I would prefer to not add stuff to the database file at all. Any ideas where this header info is coming from in cocoahttpserver and how to stop it? • .NET ThreadPool QueueUserWorkItem Synchronization

  I am employing ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem to play some sound files and not hanging up the GUI while doing so. It is working but has an undesirable side effect. While the QueueUserWorkItem CallBack Proc is being executed there is nothing to stop it from starting a new thread. This causes the samples in the threads to overlap. How can I make it so that it waits for the already running thread to finish running and only then run the next request? EDIT: I did: Thread t = new Thread(FireAttackProc(fireResult)); t.Start(); but it gave me some errors. How do I specify a thread method with parameters?
