I want to mock just a single method/property on a concrete object I've created... In TypeMock, I would just do Isolate.WhenCalled(bar.PrivateGetter).Returns('whatever value').. Any ideas?

    Django 1.2 allows usernames to take the form of an email address. Changed in Django 1.2: Usernames may now contain @, +, . and - characters I know that's a much-requested feature, but what if you don't want the new behavior? It makes for messy usernames in profile URLs and seems to break django-registration (if a user registers an account with an email-style username, the link in the django-registration activation email returns 404). Does anyone have a recipe for restoring the old behavior and disabling email-style usernames?

    I was wondering what language to use when talking about a function that takes in a specific object, acts on it and returns something else. Clearly they're functions, but I was wondering if there's a more specific term. A couple examples of Python built-in functions that fit this spec are: 'len', 'dir', 'vars' I thought it was 'predicate', but apparently that's specific to functions that return a boolean value.

  • How can I turn a string of text into a BigInteger representation for use in an El Gamal cryptosystem

    I'm playing with the El Gamal cryptosystem, and my goal is to be able to encipher and decipher long sequences of text. I have come up with a method that works for short sequences, but does not work for long sequences, and I cannot figure out why. El Gamal requires the plaintext to be an integer. I have turned my string into a byte[] using the .getBytes() method for Strings, and then created a BigInteger out of the byte[]. After encryption/decryption, I turn the BigInteger into a byte[] using the .toByteArray() method for BigIntegers, and then create a new String object from the byte[]. This works perfectly when i call ElGamalEncipher with strings up to 129 characters. With 130 or more characters, the output produced is garbled. Can someone suggest how to solve this issue? Is this an issue with my method of turning the string into a BigInteger? If so, is there a better way to turn my string of text into a BigInteger and back?     I would like a method that takes a List<T> where T implements Comparable and returns true or false depending on whether the list is sorted or not. What is the best way to implement this in Java? It's obvious that generics and wildcards are meant to be able to handle such things easily, but I'm getting all tangled up. It would also be nice to have an analogous method to check if the list is in reverse order.

In my SearchAddressTask I do some stuff on doInBackground() that returns the right array. On the onPostExecute() method i try to just modify the AutoCompleteTextView adapter to add the values from the array obtained in doInBackground() but the adapter cannot be modified: NOT WORKING CODE: protected void onPostExecute(String[] addressArray) { ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = (ArrayAdapter<String>) autoCompleteDestination.getAdapter(); adapter.clear(); adapter.addAll(new ArrayList<String>(Arrays.asList(addressArray))); adapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); Log.d("SearchAddressTask", "adapter isEmpty : " + adapter.isEmpty()); // Returns true!!??! } I dont get why this is not working. My string could have 3 forms: [dbo].[Start] dbo.Start Start This is my regex: "^((\[)?dbo(\])?)?(\.)?(\[)?Start(\])?$" All 3 forms returns success but there are some more options such as: [dboStart or dbo[Start I know that this is because it is optional, but how could I make dependencies when making optional, so that if one optional has value then the second optional must have a value too.     Dear All, I've download Windows 7 SDK which was downloaded at the time of the beta release. Now I upgraded to RC and trying with some Direct2D samples. But I can't create the factory pointer using D2D1CreateFactory API. It's always returns NULL. Even the samples downloaded from MSDN is also not working well. There are some changes from Beta - RC Is this because of the version mismatch of SDK?

  • Problem making local copy of a webpage

    I want to run this chrome experiment locally. I copied the .html and .js files, along with the two .jpgs that the demo uses. However, when I run it off my local drive, Chrome gives this error: light.js:89 - Uncaught Error: SECURITY_ERR: DOM Exception 18 Line 89 returns the image data from the canvas after drawing the image to it. What's causing this security exception? It seems to not be Chrome-specific, as Firefox gives the same error.

    According to SICP section 1.2.6, exercise 1.22: Most Lisp implementations include a primitive called runtime that returns an integer that specifies the amount of time the system has been running (measured, for example, in microseconds). I'm using DrScheme, where runtime doesn't seem to be available, so I'm looking for a good substitute. I found in the PLT-Scheme Reference that there is a current-milliseconds primitive. Does anyone know if there's a timer in Scheme with better resolution?
