    I'm looking to create a many to many relationship using NHibernate. I'm not sure how to map these in the XML files. I have not created the classes yet, but they will just be basic POCOs. Tables Person personId name Competency competencyId title Person_x_Competency personId competencyId Would I essentially create a List in each POCO for the other class? Then map those somehow using the NHibernate configuration files?

    Hi, I know this question is a bit open but I have been looking at Scala/Lift as an alternative to Java/Spring and I am wonder what are the real advantages that Scala/Lift has over it. From my perspective and experience, Java Annotations and Spring really minimizes the amount of coding that you have to do for an application. Does Scala/Lift improve upon that?

    I am running several sites in several different languages off of single instance of magneto. There are two main styles Site 1 Site 2 Each site has some cusomtimizations based on language So each shop view has an some templates defined Site 2 - DE Site 2 - UK Now the problem is that when I apply a product level design, it forget's about the language level definition and skips back to the main definition. I want it to work like this Site 2 Site 2 DE Product Style But Instead it seems to work like this Site 2 Site 2 DE Product Style Where Site 2 DE is not ignored because a custom product style has been defined. How can I get the first hierarchy to work? So that my product styles do not override the language styles completely.

  • Can I have sinatra not read the entire request body into memory?

    Say I have a sinatra route ala: put '/data' do request.body.read [...] end It appears that the entire request.body is read into memory. Is there a way to consume the body as it comes into the system, rather than having it all buffered in Rack/sinatra beforehand? I see I can do this to read the body in parts, but the entire body still seems to be read into memory beforehand. put '/data' do while request.body.read(1024) != nil [...] end [...] end

  • How to generate a PDF of dynamic HTML content?

    I am trying to be able to allow users to generate content dynamically, and have that information be in a , and then allow that specific to be exportable to a pdf. I have got Joomla up and running (with the appropriate mySQL and ANT) locally with the Web2PDF extension, but how would I get those running on my domain (hosted by Dreamhost). Are there any other approaches you might recommend. The content is generated by JS and JQuery, and formatted with CSS and HTML. Other considerations: Web2PDF generates a PDF on the entire content, (pulling the entire page's HTML, not just the specific <div>.

    So say we you have a CSS property that is not inherited by default. We'll call it "foo" and its default value is "black". Then we make the following html. <div id="div1" style="foo: red;"> <div id="div2"> <div id="div3" style="foo: inherit;"> </div> </div> </div> Since this property does not inherit by default, you'd think that in div2, "foo" must be "black" - the default value because it does not inherit by default. But ... in div3 should the value for "foo" inherit "black" from its parent that did not inherit foo, or should it inherit "red" from its grandparent because its parent did not specify foo? I need to know because I'm trying to implement something exactly to the spec.

  • How do I manage multiple development branches in GIT?

    I have 5 branches of one system - lets call them master, London, Birmingham, Manchester and demo. These differ in only a configuration file and each has its own set of graphics files. When I do some development, I create a temp branch from master, called after the feature, and work on that. When ready to merge I checkout master, and git merge feature to bring in my work. That appears to work just fine. Now I need to get my changes into the other Branches, without losing the differences between then that are there already. How can I do that? I have been having no end of problems with Birmingham geting London's graphics, and with conflicts within the configuration file. When the branch is finally correct, I push it up to a depot, and pull each Branch down to a linux box for final testing, From there the release into production is using rsync (set to ignore the .git repository itself). This phase works just fine also. I am the only developer at the moment, but I need to get the process solid before inviting assistance :)

    I've got a database with pre-aggregated metrics similar to the one outlined in this use case: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/use-cases/pre-aggregated-reports/ I have a daily collection with a subdocument for hour and minute metrics, and a 'metadata.date' entry for midnight on the day it represents. I also have a monthly collection with a day subdocument for each day. If I want to get an average of a metric over the past eight or so days how can I do that with the aggregation framework? Is the aggregation framework not the right tool for this since it's already pre-aggregated?

    Hey, i have question related to CoreData. My iphone project has 2 Entities, Organisation and Brand with a 1 to many "BrandsToOrg" relationship and inverse. So my project has a Mapview, where you can see all the Organisations and a little subview when you click on those Organisations.At the subview there is a "show Brands" Button, which should init a new TableView who only shows the brands belong to the seleceted organisation.     I'm programmatically registering a group of services that all implement the same interface, IRule. I have another service that looks like this: public class MyService { private IEnumerable<IRule> _rules; public MyService(IEnumerable<IRule> rules){ _rules = rules; } } Hammett posted something that looked like what I wanted, http://hammett.castleproject.org/?p=257. I changed the signature to IRule[] and tried the ArrayResolver trick in the post but that didn't work for me(note, it didn't break anything either). Anyone know how to programmatically register a component like the code I posted above?

    Hello, recently I'm writing some functions that I take from Haskell and translate into Java. One of the main problems I have is I cannot easily create a static property with a generic type. Let me explain by a little example... // An interface to implement functions public interface Func<P, R> { public R apply(P p); } // What I want to do...   • SSAS Reporting Services - Set specific language / translation

    Hi all, in the data warehouse there's a default language for the measures, and I added a translation for German captions. In a Visual Studio Report Server project, when creating a query with my German OS, the cube and its measures are displayed in German language. When dragging measures to the mdx query windows, the default measure name is used. That's what I want and what I expect, since when writing MDX queries I would like to use the default measure names. But when executing the query, the columns created for each measure is translated to German again. This resuls in having German columns names within my dataset, which I dont want. I'd like to have the english column names. I already tried to change the connection string to: Data Source=server;Initial Catalog=DataWarehouse;LocaleIdentifier=1033 But that doesn't help, I still see German translations. Anyone knows how to set a specific translation?

  • Need help optimizing this Django aggregate query

    I have the following model class Plugin(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=50) # more fields which represents a plugin that can be downloaded from my site. To track downloads, I have class Download(models.Model): plugin = models.ForiegnKey(Plugin) timestamp = models.DateTimeField(auto_now=True) So to build a view showing plugins sorted by downloads, I have the following query: # pbd is plugins by download - commented here to prevent scrolling pbd = Plugin.objects.annotate(dl_total=Count('download')).order_by('-dl_total') Which works, but is very slow. With only 1,000 plugins, the avg. response is 3.6 - 3.9 seconds (devserver with local PostgreSQL db), where a similar view with a much simpler query (sorting by plugin release date) takes 160 ms or so. I'm looking for suggestions on how to optimize this query. I'd really prefer that the query return Plugin objects (as opposed to using values) since I'm sharing the same template for the other views (Plugins by rating, Plugins by release date, etc.), so the template is expecting Plugin objects - plus I'm not sure how I would get things like the absolute_url without a reference to the plugin object. Or, is my whole approach doomed to failure? Is there a better way to track downloads? I ultimately want to provide users some nice download statistics for the plugins they've uploaded - like downloads per day/week/month. Will I have to calculate and cache Downloads at some point? EDIT: In my test dataset, there are somewhere between 10-20 Download instances per Plugin - in production I expect this number would be much higher for many of the plugins.

  • .htaccess file on localhost throwing an error when using a Virtual Host config on my Localhost!!

    I am trying to set-up my localhost development server. I have everything working but when I try to add an .htaccess it throws this error: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. I dont know exactly why this is, this is pretty much the exact same setup as the other developers machine, but when using my .htaccess file I get that error. Here is my .htaccess file (NOTE: They are commented because I left my site with this setup. It only lets me view the index page.   • jquery .find to get the text in a <li>

    So I have a series of 2 nested ul's. When you click on the text (which is in an a tag) in the li, my page makes that editable and adds a save button. clicking the save button needs to give me back the new text inside that li and the id of that li. The id is not a problem. I'm trying to use jQuery's .find to select that anchor tag (which is successful) but i can't seem to get the text from it.     I'm trying to write some VHDL code that simply feeds sequential bits from a std_logic_vector into a model of an FSM. However, the bits don't seem to be updating correctly. To try figure out the issue, I have the following code, where instead of getting a bit out of a vector, I'm just toggling the signal x (the same place I'd be getting a bit out). clk <= NOT clk after 10 ns; process(clk) begin if count = 8 then assert false report "Simulation ended" severity failure; elsif (clk = '1') then x <= test1(count); count <= count + 1; end if; end process; EDIT: It appears I was confused.I've put it back to trying to take bit by bit out of the vector. This is the output. I would have thought that on when count is 1, x would take on the value of test1(1) which is a 1.

    I am trying to create a UIImageView called theImageView in the touchesBegan method that I can then then move to a new location in touchesMoved. Currently I am receiving an "undeclared" error in touchesMoved where I set the new location for theImageView.
