    I use Chrome at home and the office, and I was wondering if there is an extension that will sync not just my Chrome settings and bookmarks, but also my extensions and their settings between computers I run Chrome on? http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=469242bc0eb964d6&hl=en Is a thread asking for support on it, but nobody mentions if there is an extension created for Chrome doing this, or if it was ever implemented.

    I want to give remote access to my postresql db (8.2) to computers that are at the same lan, at the default config I have added this line to pg_hba.conf where xxx.xx.xx.xx is the ip of the machine that hosts postgresql. This machine is a windows 2k server. # IPv4 local connections: host all all 0.0.0.0/0 password host all all xxx.xx.xx.xx/24 password There no firewall or such blocking the connection between and `listen_addresses = '*' for postgresql.conf .

  • Why does F@H not bind to more than one core on Windows?

    I have been contributing to Stanford's Folding@Home project for some time with most of the computers I own. I just installed the Windows client on a new machine running Windows 7, but see that the F@H process only binds to one CPU core. Is this due to it being run on Windows? (I have the 64-bit edition of Windows 7 installed.) On the Mac and under 64-bit Linux distros, it will run across all available CPU cores.

    I have just added a Windows Home Server (WHS) to my home network and a few of my computers are now connected to it and, using the client software, back themselves up each evening. I want to connect a computer that's outside of my home network (in someone else's house) to do the WHS via the internet. How do I do this? (i.e. There must be a way to hack the client software and tell give it an IP/port that you can expose from the WHS.)

    I am getting the following message when attempting to connect to our company's SVN repository - the same error occurs whether I try from the OSX command line or Eclipse. Any ideas on where to troubleshoot?   • Install Windows SteadyState without an internet connection?

    Based on the results of this post, I'm trying to install Windows SteadyState on a bunch of computers with no internet connection (but all with legitimate copies of windows XP pro). The problem is that the installer asks to be connected to the Windows Genuine Advantage server, and I can't manage that. Is there a workaround? I can use internet at my home, but cannot have the school install and pay for a connection. Maybe there's another program that would work just as well?

  • Add site to trusted sites through GPO

    I need to add a site to trusted sites on all computers in my domain. I can do it with the "site to zone assignment list", however when I do, it locks trusted sites on the client computer "this setting is managed by your administrator". What I need is a way to add the site, make it persistant, and not affects the users ability to add trusted sites of thier own. (It's a development enviroment, sites are created and tested regularly, they need that ability.)

I want to be able to centralize the log information for a lot of servers so that people in the company can see what's going on for different servers.     I have multiple computers, some have a 10/100 ethernet adapter while others have a 10/100/1000 ones. If I connect them together with the Cisco sg100-08 switch, do I keep the 1Gbit speed where possible (between two devices at 1Gbit speed) or the whole lan slows down to 100mbit? I checked Cisco website but I couldn't find this kind of information, nor I was able to register to the Cisco support to ask this question (the registration form does not work)

    If someone knows a software with these features: Works from the tray area Very lightweight Works also in Windows XP (preferably workstation, nothing serverish required) Can show a bandwidth usage graph, where I can easily see each PC's usage I can inspect a computer's connections, find out the ports and applications that are using them (eg, all bandwidth is consumed by PC #3, that's running uTorrent.exe from port 33003) ...I'd happily check it out.   • Capture virtual machine traffic in Fiddler

    I'm running Ubuntu in a virtual machine (host machine is Windows 7). Is it possible to use Fiddler in the host machine to capture the traffic from the virtual machine? Seeing as the virtual machine's network must be passing through the host computers NIC, can Fiddler capture the packets? (I don't know of any free alternative to Fiddler for Linux, except Tamper Data, but I need a bit more control). Thanks.
