• .focus() doesn't work on an input while orher attributes works

  I have a classic table / thead / tbody structure, which I add a line at the end of the tbody. The line contains only an input element. The code works in Firefox 3.6 but not in Chrome v5 or IE8. I'm using jQuery 1.4.1. Does not work: $("#" + AJAX_ID).parent().find('tr:last > td:nth-child(2) > input').focus(); Does work: $("#" + AJAX_ID).parent().find('tr:last > td:nth-child(2) > input').css('background-color', 'red'); even setting an ID on the input, and using document.getElementBuId('id').focus() doesn't work. • Conditionally setting the font color of an item in a drop down box in JSF

  I'm a newbie to web programming, so please bear with me. I am using JSF 1.2 and I want to conditionally set the color of the items in my drop down list. In other words, I have a collection of items that, along with a key and a value, also have a boolean property, warning, that is dynamically set by user action. I want the drop down to show all of the items, but those whose warning property is set to true should be displayed in red. I assume I have to extend the SelectItem class to add in the boolean property. How do I then conditionally set the color of the font of those items whose warning property is set to true in my JSP pages? Thanks in advance

• Why does the :nth-child(2) selector work on what I expect to be :first-child?

  I have an example of what I'm trying to ask. I use this kind of format often. I'd expect to be able to select that first div with fieldset div:first-child { } but it seems that it's only grabbed by the 2nd child selector. I would expect "field 1" to be red and not blue. It makes more sense semantically (to me at least) to say "style the first div in the fieldset like so" instead of saying the 2nd. Why is this happening and is there a way to achieve the effect I want (to be able to call div:first-child)?

• Powershell - remote folder availability while counting files

  I´m trying to make a Powershell script that reports if there´s a file older than x minutes on remote folder. I make this: $strfolder = 'folder1 ..................' $pocet = (Get-ChildItem \\server1\edi1\folder1\*.* ) | where-object {($_.LastWriteTime -lt (Get-Date).AddDays(-0).AddHours(-0).AddMinutes(-20))} | Measure-Object if($pocet.count -eq 0){Write-Host $strfolder "OK" -foreground Green} else {Write-Host $strfolder "ERROR" -foreground Red} But there´s one huge problem. The folder is often unavailable for me bacause of the high load and I found out when there is no connection it doesn´t report an error but continues with zero in $pocet.count. It means it reports everything is ok when the folder is unavailable. I was thinking about using if(Test-Path..) but what about it became unavailable just after passing Test-Path? Does anyone has a solution please? Thank you in advance

• How do you install cocos2d-iphone on the Mac?

  There are no good instructions for installing cocos2d for iPhone on the mac. I downloaded the current build from git, a folder called "cocos2d-iphone-0.99.1". i put this folder in /Developer/Libary. Q: is this right? I tried running the file called "install_template.sh". it said the templates were already installed. Instead, I manually dragged the templates folders where they belong, and they ~do~ appear in the XCode's "New Project" dialog. When I create a new cocos2d project, I see all these red links for project files, instead of the regular black links. When I try to open them in the finder, nothing happens. I can tell that something is not linked. Can someone please help walk me through this? Thanks!

  Is there anyway to set a custom font or color for the selected item in a Spinner? For example, I open the spinner and click a priority of "High". I'm my layout containing the spinner, I would like to see the word "High" in red or a custom font. I can't seem to obtain the textview to make the necessary change. I always obtain a NullPointerException if I typecast the spinner.getSelectedView() to textview and attempt to set the color. any ideas? thanks in advance!

• Eclipse - Ouline View - Turn Off Filtering

  Hi. I recently installed Eclipse on my new computer, and this installation somewhat filters the class members. I think it is somehow related to the Outline, but i couldn't find any settings related to it. The thing is that when i, for example, have an error in a method, and click on the little red square on the margin, eclipse shows me only that method, and nothing else. When i then click on the class name in the outline panel, eclipse shows me the class without import declarations. I can, of course, click on the import declarations in the outline panel, but then i get only them. When I want to jump to the declaration of some method by command-clicking that method's name, I again get only that method on the screen. It is really annoying. Can anyone please help me fix it?   I've got an application that reads Lead records from Salesforce via the API and I want to link the Lead Owner field to an attribute in the application. The Lead Owner field doesn't up in the list of available fields but all the custom fields do. So, my first attempt at a solution was to create a custom field that displayed the Lead Owner name. In the SF formula editor, as far as I can tell, it doesn't display the actual data field but instead displays the ID string. Which is pretty meaningless in the context that I need it for. Is there a way that we can get at the data in the object that the ID string references? I have the RED BOX but need the GREEN BOX.

  i been working on a game with no bitmaps or anything, I'm using rectangles as objects and changing their color for their purpose like a red rectangles for player and gray rectangles for walls. My question is what is the right way to replace the rectangles with bitmaps/images? I know to load Bitmaps you can just do this : Bitmap randomBitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(getResources(), com.example.android4gametest.R.drawable.ic_launcher); Should i load all my Bitmaps and pass them to their Classes or should i load the bitmap inside their class instead of passing it ? and how would i do that because i cannot use the BitmapFactory because i have no access to the getResources()! or should i load my bitmaps/images from my assets folder which i know i wont have the same "tools" you can say to mess with the bitmap.

  Hi All, I have a text area field where i need to provide information about the word count when the user enters some text in the field. Length of the field is supposed to be 500 Characters. Initialy it must show min characters:100 | 0 of 500 // 0 of 500 must be in red color and once the user enters come character need to update the count as well. Once the user reaches the count say the min character 100, i need to display min characters:100 | 100 of 500 // 100 of 500 must be in green color. How can i do this?? is there any plugin for the same??? let me know your thoughts on this.

  What might be said or implied at an interview or job posting that should set off alarm bells for a coder? I'm still only a few years in the industry but I already know to look out for excessive red tape and bureaucracy. Cubes and a noisy office also tell me that I'll be both miserable and unproductive and that management does not appreciate what coders need to work well. Edit: The way things are going I'm taking extra time to look at the company's stability. If they depend on a single vendor for their livelihood and could be out of business if the vendor decides they don't really need the service or can do it in-house. What are your dealbreakers?

• Project works in eclipse but not when exported

  I wrote an application that uses GraphViz to generate some graphs as .gif's according to the DOT syntax. When I run from Eclipse the images are generated fine but when I export it as a jar the images are created but there is no data in them. When I view them in Microsoft Picture Viewer its just the red X. It was working as an exported jar until I put the picture generation in its own thread. I can't seem to figure out whats going on here. Are there any problems exporting multi-threaded projects? Any one have any ideas? Thanks

• Android layout issue - table/grid/linear

  I am trying to wrap my head around some basic layout issues in android. Here is what I want as my final goal: As you can see, various fields set up like that. The fields get filled in based on XML data. There could be 1 set of fields, or there could be more. I tried a tablelayout, but couldn't get it set up right even when layout_span for Field 7. It worked ok, but when I tried to change the widths of Field 1 thru 5, the spanned row below it didn't conform to the changes (not like an HTML table would). The fields in each group need to lineup if there are more than one (see red lines in image). Can someone point me in the right direction on how I should approach this? Thanks

  Hi, I'm looking at the buttons used on twitter's home page, specifically the big orange 'signup' button. I see it is defined like this: <p id="signup-btn"> <a id="signup_submit" href="/signup"> <span>Sign Up</span> </a> </p> are they just using css to give the orange button appearance (which may just be a jpg), and also using css to specify the roll-over appearance (another jpg), and finally a third state for mouse-click (another jpg) to give the impression of a real clickable button? If that's how it works, what should I look for to do the same thing?
