• SQL count NULL cells

  Dear All, I have the following problem. I have a table in a db, with many columns. I can do different kind of select queries, to show, for example, for each record that satisfies a condition: all cells from columns with names ending in _t0 all cells from columns with names ending in _t1 ... To get the column lists to form the queries I use the information schema. Now, the problem: each query returns a record with a subset of the columns of the big table. This means that I can get a row of (all!) NULLs. How can I ask my query to reject such rows without having to type in explicitely the column names (i.e. by saying where col_1 is not null, col_2 is not null...)? Is it possible? Thanks in advance!!! • Mapped Stored Procedures in EF 1

  All, I'm using mapped Stored Procedures in EF 1. I've completed the following steps: 1) I've created my INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE queries in SQL Server. 2) I've built the EDMX and imported the INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE sprocs as part of my model. 3) I've set up a Stored Procedure Mapping on a table inside of my EDMX file. The INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE sprocs were mapped accordingly. Using this approach, I would expect to rebuild the application (and mine builds successfully) and then see the Stored Procedures as available function names via my EDMX object, such as: _entities.InsertComment(..), _entities.UpdateComment(..), and _entities.DeleteComment(..) Intellisense is not picking these names up and I can't figure out why. If I perform these same steps using EF4, the function names are automatically picked up by Intellisense after adding the Stored Procedure Mappings. Is this a bug in EF1?   What's a better way to traverse an array while iterating through another array? For example, if I have two arrays like the following: names = [ "Rover", "Fido", "Lassie", "Calypso"] breeds = [ "Terrier", "Lhasa Apso", "Collie", "Bulldog"] Assuming the arrays correspond with one another - that is, Rover is a Terrier, Fido is a Lhasa Apso, etc. - I'd like to create a dog class, and a new dog object for each item: class Dog attr_reader :name, :breed def initialize(name, breed) @name = name @breed = breed end end I can iterate through names and breeds with the following: index = 0 names.each do |name| dog = Dog.new("#{name}", "#{breeds[index]}") index = index.next end However, I get the feeling that using the index variable is the wrong way to go about it. What would be a better way?

• Piping to findstr's input, dos prompt

  I have a text file with a list of macro names (one per line). My final goal is to get a print of how many times the macro's name appears in the files of the current directory. The macro's names are in C:\temp\macros.txt. type C:\temp\macros.txt in the dos prompt prints the list alright. Now I want to pipe that output to the standard input of findstr. type C:\temp\macros.txt | findstr *.ss (ss is the file type where I am looking for the macro names). This does not seem to work, I get no result (very fast, it does not seem to try at all). findstr <the first row of the macro list> *.ss does work. I also tried findstr *.ss < c:\temp\macros.txt with no success.

  I have a flat file that looks something like this: junk I don't care about \n \n columns names\n val1 val2 val3\n val1 val2 val3\n columns names \n val1 val2 val3\n I only care the lines with values. These value lines are all fixed width format and have the same line length. The other junk lines and column names can have any line width. When I try the flat file fixed width option or the ragged right option the preview looks all wrong. Any ideas what the easiest way to get this into SSIS is?

  Hello all, I am using the SQL Server PHP Driver, I think this question can be answered without knowing what this is. I have come across this many times, what does it mean by NAMES? Column names?: SET NAMES utf8 Is there a query similar to the above that will get my dates to be returned as a string? For some reason on my SQL Sever 2008 on Vista, this works: $connectionInfo = array('Database' => $dbname, 'ReturnDatesAsStrings' => true) But the above 'ReturnDatesAsStrings' does not work on my SQL Server 2005 on a windows server machine? I can't execute any queries after setting the above! Does SQL Server 2005 support ReturnDatesAsStrings? Is there some other parameter I can pass to do the same? Thanks all for any help EDIT I should of mentioned this but if there is a solution I am hoping for one that is in the form of a setting that can be set before any queries can be executed as I do not have control on what queries will be executed.

  What is the purpose of this Identify that sometime I find in the generated in the configuration when adding a service reference in the a client project. I have this wcf service running under local system account. It looks like I don't need to specify this identity in the client configuration. But if I run the wcf service under a specific account. I have to set the identity userprincipalname to the account the service is running under or else my client can't communicate at all with the wcf service. Can someone shed more light on this configuration? Maybe some articles on the net?

  Hi, I have yet another problem with Reporting services. Finally I was able to set the ball rolling, achieving success in configuring reporting services with a domain user account. Now I have a problem accessing the server from another machine (in the same domain) using Integrated Windows Authentication in IIS 6.0. I have never had problems with this on networks using NT Authentication, but this is the first time our network is set up to use Kerberos. Here are my IIS settings - Reports (Manager) & ReportServer Virtual directories under Default Website, Both these are configured to run with Integrated Windows Authentication..Anonymous access turned OFF. Reporting Services Windows Service runs under Network service account and Web Service under a domain user account. Note - If I turn on Basic Authentication, it works fine, exceeding all my expectations, but this is not something I want. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Vineet

  Greetings, I am new to MDX, and am having trouble understanding how to perform an aggregation on a hierarchy level with members that have the same names. This query is particular to Microsoft Analysis Services 2000 cubes. I have a given hierarchy dimension with levels defined as follows: [Segment].[Flow].[Segment Week] Within the [Segment Week] level, I have the following members: [Week- 1] [Week- 2] [Week- 3] ... [Week- 1] [Week- 2] [Week- 3] The members have the same names, but are aligned with a different [Flow] in the parent level. So, the first occurrence of the [Week- 1] member aligns with [Flow].[A] while the second occurrence of [Week- 1] aligns with [Flow].[B]. What I am trying to do is aggregate all the members within the [Segment Week] level that have the same name. In SQL terms, I want to GROUP BY the member names within the [Segment Week] level. • PayPal testing without using Sandbox

  I am developing a website in PHP that accepts PayPal payments. It uses the IPN from PayPal and has a custom payment template etc etc. It all works great through the Sandbox server but when it comes to showing my client, I don't want to have to tell them to login to/create a Sandbox account, create a buyer account and make a payment - he hasn't got time for that and probably won't be able to do it. Therefore, my question is - is there any simple way that I can show my client the PayPal integration in "test mode" without him using the sandbox? I realise that I can set the transaction value to 0.01 and just test on the live PayPal server but that isn't an ideal solution. Cheers! Edit: Just to better explain what I mean, this is what my client sees when he first goes to checkout; As you can see, he has to login to his Sandbox account before then purchasing the item using the buyer email that he sets up. It's just confusing and totally non user-friendly.

  So once again I have a question about this program. I want to store transactions that are made in an arraylist and then have an option in the case menu where I can print out those that are stored. I have been researching online and have been unable to find a solution to this, so is this possible and how would I go about doing this? I also want to attach a timestamp to each transaction as well.   I am working on a twitter based app and am trying to incorporate Android's built-in Account support for Twitter. The following code works to popup the confirmation dialog for my app to access twitter but I am unsure of what to pass in as the authenticationType. Any help would be appreciated. I've googled all over the place and can't seem to find the correct answer. It goes in place of "oauth" below.   I am having trouble using EnumSet on the client side. I get this runtime error message: java.util.EnumSet.EnumSetImpl is not default instantiable (it must have a zero-argument constructor or no constructors at all) and has no custom serializer. Is this is a known issue?   I am worried about my account expiry date. I created an account on AWS in July 2013 and submitted my credit card details on 31st Oct 2013. I went in Billing Management Console/Bills section where when I click on Date, I can see months ranging from July 2013 to Nov 2013. From AWS FAQs I gathered When does the AWS free usage tier expire? The AWS free usage tier will expire 12 months from the date you sign up. So WHEN will my account expire, July 2014 (sign up date) or Oct 2014 (credit card details submission date) ?

• Any foundation to administrate an Android open source application?

  Our open source application is quite popular, and we are many developers. The app uses my Android Market account, and I shared the keys with a developer. But if both of us disappear, the application's Market account will be lost, and all users trapped. Giving the keys to all developers is not a solution either, for security reasons. Is there a foundation (like in Mozilla Foundation or Apache Foundation) that could accept to hold our Android Market account and release new versions in accordance with their own guidelines and our community consensus? There are quite a lot of Open Source foundations, but I could not find any that tackles this particular aspect of Android applications.

  To make my extranet web application even faster/more scalable I think of using some of the caching mechanisms. For some of the pages we'll use HTML caching, please ignore that technique for this question. E.g.: at some point in time 2500 managers will simultaneously login on our application (most of them with the same Account/Project) I think of storing an Account-cachekey and Project-cachekey into the user's Session and use that to get the item from the Cache. I could have simply stored the Account into the session, but that would result in 2500 of the same Accounts in memory. Is there a better solution to this or does it make sense :)?

  I've got a problem when using Shoes. I'm basically trying to open an excel document and pass the names of the worksheets to a list_box. The following method is called on a button press after selecting a file.
