  • Use ISAPI filter to trace and time a WCF call?

    I'm building a web application using WCF that will be consumed by other applications as a service. Our app will be installed on a farm of web services and load balanced for scalability purposes. Occasionally we run into problems specific to one web server and we'd like to be able to determine from the response which web server the request was processed by and possibly timing information as well. For example, this request was processed by WebServer01 and the request took 200ms to finish. The first solution that came to mind was to build an ISAPI filter to add an HTTP header that stores this information in the response. This strikes me as the kind of thing somebody must have done before. Is there a better way to do this or an off-the-shelf ISAPI filter that I can use for this? Thanks in advance

    Hi everybody, Does anybody have an idea how to change screens (views) in a MVVM View-First-Approach (The view instantiates the ViewModel: DataContext="{Binding Source={StaticResource VMLocator}, Path=Find[EntranceViewModel]}" ) For example: In my MainWindow (Shell) I show a entrance view with a Button "GoToBeach". <Window> <DockPanel> <TextBox DockPanel.Dock="Top" Text="{Binding Title}" /> <view.EntranceView DockPanel.Dock="Top" /> </DockPanel> </Window> When the button is clicked I want to get rid of the "EntranceView" and show the "BeachView". I am really curious if somebody knows a way to keep the View-First Approach and change the screen (view) to the "BeachView". I know there are several ways to implement it in a ViewModel-First Approach, but that is not the question. Perhabs I missed something in my mvvm investigation and can't see the wood for the trees... otherwise i am hoping for a inspiring discussion.

  • iPhone: Execute code after animation of UIDeviceOrientation change finishes

    Not sure if I can explain this correctly, but I am trying to execute a method device orientation animation finishes. Right now I have [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(didRotate:) name:UIDeviceOrientationDidChangeNotification object:nil];, but that triggers instantly. Is there a way to have it call didRotate after the view rotation animation is completed? Thanks!

    I just created my first django app, initialized variables DATABASE_ENGINE and DATABASE_NAME in settings.py, but now when I run python manage.py syncdb, I get the following error Can somebody help? Does this have to do with having two python versions installed?     Hello All, I am trying to write a webservice that takes in an XML string, does parsing of it using DOM and extract particular things I want. My XML string happens to be very long so I do not want to pass it as a @QueryParam or @PathParam. Say If I write that XML string into a file, How do I go about writing a RESTful service that takes in this file, extracts whatever I want and return the results. I am actually trying to extract some number of strings, so my output should probably be an ArrayList having all these strings. Could somebody please shed some light on how I should go about doing this. Thanks in advance

    Hi, I am trying to test a WPF application using the UI-Automation framework that MSFT provides. There were a few powershell scripts written that invoked the cmdlets created to manipulate the visual controls of the application. There is a DropDown within my application that has an entry 'DropDownEntry'. In my cmdlet, I am trying to do something as follows: AutomationElement getItem = DropDown.FindFirst(TreeScope.Descendants, new AndCondition( new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.ControlTypeProperty,ControlType.ListItem), new PropertyCondition(AutomationElement.NameProperty, "DropDownEntry",PropertyConditionFlags.IgnoreCase))); The above given snippet returns 'null' upon execution which essentially means that the above given logic was unable to find my dropdown entry. Can somebody tell me why this might be happening? I checked the name of my control and the values. Everything seems to be in order. I am not sure why this would be happening. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Getting started with Windows Azure

    Hi All, I'm going to sound like a complete newbie here but here goes... I've just signed up for a Windows Azure account and was hoping to get a simple hello world aspx page up and running in a browser to see how it all works but I can't seem to find a simple guide to getting a very simple web application running. I've got as far as setting up a "service" and going onto the "deploy" page but it's asking me upload an "application package". I've looked on MSDN but there aren't any simple guides, just reams of documentation talking about "roles" and "development fabric". For somebody that is proficient in HTML/CSS and knows a little abit about asp.net it may just as well be in another language. So, does anybody know how to upload a simple aspx page and then access it in a browser? Jon

    I'm reviewing some notes for my course on Theory of Computation and I'm a little bit stuck on showing the following statement and I was hoping somebody could help me out with an explanation :) Let A be a regular language. The language B = {ab | a exists in A and b does not exist in A*} Why is B a regular language? Some points are obvious to me. If b is simply a constant string, this is trivial. Since we know a is in A and b is a string, regular languages are closed under union, so unioning the language that accepts these two strings is obviously regular. I'm not sure that b is constant, however. Maybe it is, and if so, then this isn't really an issue. I'm having a hard time making sense of it. Thanks!

    Hi All I am trying to create a scripting language by myself (it doesn't have to be perfect - although that would be great if it was), mostly because i'm doing it for fun and to learn about how they're created etc. According to the answer over here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2439929/creating-a-scripting-language what I'm supposed to be looking into is this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/xawadt95%28VS.85%29.aspx . But, I have absolutely no idea what that MSDN page is on about. Can somebody please help? P.S. Are there any free/open source scripting languages that target the Windows Script Host, that also have full source code available for it that I can play around with? Thank you

    I'm trying to use Apache Lucene for tokenizing, and I am baffled at the process to obtain Tokens from a TokenStream. The worst part is that I'm looking at the comments in the JavaDocs that address my question. http://lucene.apache.org/java/3_0_1/api/core/org/apache/lucene/analysis/TokenStream.html#incrementToken%28%29 Somehow, an AttributeSource is supposed to be used, rather than Tokens. I'm totally at a loss. Can anyone explain how to get token-like information from a TokenStream?

  • Marker Recognition on Android (recognising Rubik's Cubes)

    Hi everybody. I'm developing an augmented reality application for Android that uses the phone's camera to recognise the arrangement of the coloured squares on each face of a Rubik's Cube. One thing that I am unsure about is how exactly I would go about detecting and recognising the coloured squares on each face of the cube. If you look at a Rubik's Cube then you can see that each square is one of six possible colours with a thin black border. This lead me to think that it should be relativly simply to detect a square, possibly using an existing marker detection API. My question is really, has anybody here had any experience with image recognition and Android? Ideally I'd like to be able to implement and existing API, but it would be an interesting project to do from scratch if somebody could point me in the right direction to get started.     I am consuming an secured service hosted over basicHttpBinding I have to pass credentials to the service for authenticatioon Here’s the config setting for the client <security mode="TransportWithMessageCredential"> <transport clientCredentialType="None" proxyCredentialType="None" realm="" /> <message clientCredentialType="UserName" algorithmSuite="Default" /> </security> While calling the service, I am getting following exception message An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail. Message = "An invalid security token was provided (Bad UsernameToken Values)” I not sure how to get it working I am curious if somebody can help me out or provide me any url where I could find the solution
