  • DataGridView's top left cell value is not displayed.

    I have a DataGridView, without visible row or column headers, and bound to a BindingList. No matter what I try the top left cell (Rows[0].Cells[0]) is always empty. The cell's Visible property is true, but it never displays its contents. If I make some rows and columns invisible, it's still the top left of the visible cells that isn't displayed.

For the second part, I want to get a result set where it only returns the columns that have a value. So, if the value is null, then don't include that column. Thanks

    Hi all, Two rows in the my database have the following data: brand | product | style ================================================= Doc Martens | Doc Martens 1460 Boots | NULL NewBalance | New Balance WR1062 SG Width | NULL Mininum word length is set to 3, and a FULLTEXT index is created across all the three columns above. When I run a search for IS BOOLEAN matches for +doc in the index, I get the first row returned as a result. When I search for +new, I get no results. Can someone explain why? Thanks.

    I have a single table called "Indexes", it contains one nvarchar and three ntext columns (all Full Text Indexes). Index is up to date. CONTAINSTABLE(Indexes, *), 'test', 5) //5 results No matter what I change the above keyword too, it only returns the first 3-5 results. It should roughly return 90-120 results, for the above query. SELECT count(*) FROM Indexes WHERE [Description] like '%test%' //122 results How would I start to troubleshoot this problem?

  • Calling an Excel Add-In method from C# application or vice versa

    I have an Excel VBA add-in with a public method in a bas file. This method currently creates a VB6 COM object, which exists in a running VB6 exe/vbp. The VB6 app loads in data and then the Excel add-in method can call methods on the VB6 COM object to load the data into an existing Excel xls. This is all currently working. We have since converted our VB6 app to C#. My question is: What is the best/easiest way to mimic this behavior with the C#/.NET app? I'm thinking I may not be able to pull the data from the .NET app into Excel from the add-in method since the .Net app needs to be running with data loaded (so no using a stand-alone C# class library). Maybe we can, instead, push the data from .NET to Excel by accessing the VBA add-in method from the C# code?   • GridView paging inside an UpdatePanel or PlaceHolder components

    Hello, I'm new to ASP.NET. Im developing ASP.NET C# web form which creating GridView components dynamically and filling them using the data received from my webservice. I'm creating these GridView components programmatically in server-side (cs file)- it has to be flexible - 1 GridView and sometimes 10 GridView components. The problem occurs when I'm trying to add pagination - whenever the user clicks the "next" page, the whole page is getting refreshed because of a postBack and I'm loosing all my data and the page returns Blank/Empty. I used PlaceHolder to hold the GridView components, while searching for a solution, I found UpdatePanel as a better alternative - as far as I understand the page can be partially refreshed - which means that only the UpdatePanel has to be refreshed...but it doesn't work. The following code sample is my TEST, the UpdatePanel is the only component initiated in the client side (aspx page), the rest initiated programmatically in CS. how can I solve the issue described above? Why does the whole page is getting refreshed and I'm loosing my data? can you recommend another way? can provide me with any code sample? If I'm not rebuilding the GridView, it doesn't work...     I am using subsonic simplerepo with migrations in dev and it makes things pretty easy but I keep running into issues with my nvarchar columns that have an index. My users table has an index defined on the username column for obvious reasons but each time I start the project subsonic is doing this: ALTER TABLE [Users] ALTER COLUMN Username nvarchar(50); which causes this: The index 'IX_Username' is dependent on column 'Username'.ALTER TABLE ALTER COLUMN Username failed because one or more objects access this column Is there any way around this issue?

    I am having an un-predictable behavior of creating radio buttons in advancedDataGrid column using itemRenderer. Similar kind of problem has been reported at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/112036/creating-a-column-of-radiobuttons-in-adobe-flex. I tried to use the same procedure i.e. bind every radio button selectedValue and value attributes with the property specified in the property of the associated bean but still facing the problem. The button change values! The selected button becomes deselected, and unselected ones become selected.     We are trying to use sybase function power to do mathematical calculation for one of the DB columns. The hibernate is generating power function as pow(?, xyzo0_.AmtScale) whereas sybase supports power function as Syntax POWER( numeric-expression-1, numeric-expression-2 ) We have tried modifying the hibernate.dialect. Have tried org.hibernate.dialect.SybaseASE15Dialect org.hibernate.dialect.Sybase11Dialect org.hibernate.dialect.SybaseAnywhereDialect but all dialects generate the power function as pow(?, xyzo0_.AmtScale). Is this hibernate issue or are we missing something?

    I have datagrid with list of MyPlayer objects linked to ItemsSource, there are ComboBoxes inside of grid that are linked to a list of inner object, and binding works correctly: when I select one of the item then its value is pushed to data model and appropriately updated in other places, where it is used. It has several columns with useful, often queried data and one column that stores a relatively large string per record (1000+ characters) that is not queried often. Imagine this fake schema, the "lifeStory" field is the large one. table1 String firstName String lastName String address String lifeStory A representative query would be SELECT firstName, lastName, address FROM table1 WHERE firstName = :p1 Does anyone know of any performance concerns leaving that large, infrequently queried column in this table?
