  • NHibernate : recover session after connection lost

    I'm using NHibernate with SQL Server 2005 in a WPF client application. If I manually stop the SQL Server service and then restart it the session doesn't automatically reconnect. So far I'm doing this witch seems to work : try { using (ITransaction transaction = this.Session.BeginTransaction()) { // some select here } }catch(Exception ex) { if(this.Session.Connection.State == ConnectionState.Closed) { try { this.Session.Connection.Open(); } catch (Exception) { } } } Is there a better way ?

  • Cryastl Reports is not recognizing that a new parameter has been added to the report's stored proc

    i have added another input parameter to a stored proc used by a crystal report. i've had our dba recompile the stp to be sure that the new parameter is cached and "really there". i cannot get my crystal report to recognize the new parameter -- i've tried verifying database and using the Set Datasource Location/Update to re-select the stp. i'm using cr11 against a 2005 sql server db. any other suggestions?

    Hi, One of my friends got the access database with Forms (VBA) and wish to migrate all the database table to the newly installed MOSS 2007 site. He is using SSMI for this purpose. He cannot do it because there are plenty of errors and warnings. I think it is due to the old Access queries. Is there any other way to import the database to sql 2005 from access ? Thanks

    Does anyone know how we can install BIDS for SQL Server 2008 without having to install the Database Engine? With the SQL Server 2008 Express install it appears to be mandatory to install the Database Engine when all we would like the end users to have access to is BIDS to develop their RDL's to deploy to an existing SSRS instance? It looks like BIDS 2005 was available as a standalone download - the toolkit - however I cannot find anything similar for 2008.

    If I have a date, how do I calculate the week number for that date within that year? For example, in 2008, January 1st to January 6th are in week 1 and January 7th to the 13th are in week 2, so if my date was January 10th 2008, my week number would be 2.     Are there any repercussions using Negative Primary Keys for tables (Identity Increment -1, Identity Seed -1 in SQL Server 2005)? The reason for this is we're creating a new database to replace an existing one. There are similar tables between the two databases and we'd like the "source" of the information to be transparent to our applications. The approach is to create views that unions tables from both databases. Negative PKs ensures the identities don't overlap.

    Hi, I am using HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name to get a user id from 2 web application i'am developping. the problem is when i'am loggin in teh first application i get always HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name value (i put test in Application_AuthenticateRequest event) but when i log in teh 2nd application adn i ty to naviagte trough the 1st application teh HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name loses value. Environnement of test : Windows XP / VS.NET 2005 / Authentication forms BTW : both application are deployed in teh same machine Thank you for your help
