• Mysql gem troubles with Snow Leopard upgrade

  I have done everything that is on the web (i think) i have the new 64 bit xcode that came with snow leopard installed completely removed mysql, removed gems compeltely, removed rails installed mysql 64 bit, installed gems, installed mysql gem with the env ARCHFLAGS set I still get this nasty NameError: uninitialized constant MysqlCompat::MysqlRes from /Users/Navara/Sites/tuosystems/vendor/rails/activesupport/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:440:in `load_missing_constant' from /Users/Navara/Sites/tuosystems/vendor/rails/activesupport/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:80:in `rake_original_const_missing' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2503:in `const_missing' Im not sure how to debug this.. any pointers will be greatly appreciated!

• silverlight 3 navigation page not availble in VS as item to add

  I've recently upgraded my computer from Vista Home Premium 64-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I've re-installed VS 2008 web express, and re-installed all the silver light sdk's, tools, etc. But now when I want to add a Silverlight Navigation Page, it is not avialble to me in the list of items that can be added. The navigation dll is installed, as my project existed before the OS upgrade. The program still runs just fine as is, but I want to add another navigation page item to the project, and I'm stumped for how to do it. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve

• SQL CLR not properly enabling

  We have a SQL server running SQL 2005 Workgroup 64 bit (9.0.4273), on Windows 2003 server 64 bit. We have run sp_configure and reconfigured the server which indicates that the clr is now enabled. exec sp_configure 'clr enabled', '1' go reconfigure go However, when trying to call CREATE ASSEMBLY the server completely dies on us and we have to do a full reboot of the machine. A little more diagnostic information, even though clr enabled is set to 1 and we have rebooted the full server, running the following statement select * from sys.dm_clr_properties returns directory version state locked CLR version with mscoree which is what it says when the CLR is not enabled on another machine. On a correctly enabled machine (after reboot) this function reads directory C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\ version v2.0.50727 state CLR is initialized

  One long term project I have is working through all the exercises of SICP. I noticed something a bit odd with the most recent exercise. I am testing a Huffman encoding tree. When I execute the following code in DrScheme I get the expected result: (a d a b b c a) However, if I execute this same code in mzscheme by calling (load "2.67.scm") or by running mzscheme -f 2.67.scm, it reports: symbols: expected symbols as arguments, given: (leaf D 1) My question is: why? Is it because mzscheme and drscheme use different rules for loading program definitions?   I'm connecting to Informix 6.5 using the IBM OLE DB Driver. Some clarification: Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition. Please note that there are many versions of IDS/WE - it helps to be precise about which version you have. It might be something like 10.00.TC1; the version number could be as old as 7.xx.TCx, or as new as 11.50.TCx. If your server is not on Windows but on Unix - or is on 64-bit Windows - the letter 'T' would change to 'U' (32-bit Unix) or 'F' (64-bit - Unix or Windows), or even 'H' (a particular HP-UX configuration). When I try to create a dataset using the VS DataSet wizard, after clicking on test connection it tells me 'Base Table not found'? The OLEDB driver is the official one provided by IBM. The problem with the 'Table not found' dialog is that Visual Studio doesn't tell me the table name but only the error! Has anyone else had this problem?

• How to complie x64 asp.net website?

  I'm trying to compile (using Visual Studio) an ASP.Net website with the Chilkat library. The compilation fails due to this error: Could not load file or assembly 'ChilkatDotNet2, Version=9.0.8.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=eb5fc1fc52ef09bd' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. I've been told that this error occurs because of platform noncompliance. The weird thing is that although the compilation fails, the site works once accessed from a browser. My theory is that the IIS compilation uses csc.exe compiler from the Framework64 (64 bit) folder while the Visual Studio uses csc.exe compiler from the Framework (32 bit) folder. If this is acually it, how can I configure my Visual studio to run with the 64 bit compiler for ASP.Net sites? This is my current development configuration: Windows 7 (x64). Visual Studio 2008 Pro (x86 of course...). Chilkat library (x64) IIS/Asp.net (x64).

• CPU and profiling not supported for remote jvisualvm session

  When monitoring a remote app (using jstatd) I can neither profile nor monitor cpu consumption. Heap monitoring (provided I do not use G1) works. jvisualvm provides the message "Not supported for this JVM." in the CPU graph window. Is there anything missing in my setup? The google showed up next to no results.   I have a .Net 4.0 WPF application that requires an embedded database. MS Access doesn't work on 64 bit Windows I'm told. And I having issues with SSCE: Unable to load DLL 'sqlceme35.dll': This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800736B1) sqlceme35.dll is installed into my application's program files directory, so I can't seem to figure out why Windows XP Pro doesn't see it. I was wondering about other embedded databases options I might use that work on both 32 and 64 bit windows. Any suggestions?

• Coldfusion 9 installation problem with IIS7

  Windows web server 2008 R2 64 bit, CF9 64 bit, IIS7, ISAPI extensions and filters and II6 metabase compatability installed. OS is on C default, and trying to install CF to D: Testing IIS and it shows index.html correctly from c:\inetpub\wwwroot at http://localhost/index.html Then I install CF to D:\ , single standard server licence, select run with all IIS sites, select C:\inetpub\wwwroot as the web root for administrator, and when it gets to the bit where it is supposed to open up administrator to complete the installation it opens up the browser with a 500 error. Now when I go back to http://localhost/index.html I also get a 500 error, if i uninstall CF I can again reach the html page. CFIDE has been installed in C:\inetpub\wwwroot presumably correctly. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong please. Update The exact IIS error is HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred. • Compiling a c++ project using blas (Fortran) in Matlab mex

  I am trying to use a package here. I have no problem compiling it under 64-bit Linux as all the Makefiles are already provides. Only minor changes are needed, which I can handle. However, I have a problem compiling it under 64-bit Windows. I have installed gfortran and also compiled BLAS and CBLAS to their static libraries. The problem is that Matlab mex does not support GCC in windows, so I need to use VC 2008 instead. I found in the Makefile this line is to get the final klr_train.mexw64: klr_train.$(MEX_EXT): klr_train.cpp $(MEX) $(MEX_OPTION) klr_train.cpp ../libklr/libklr.cpp $(CBLASDIR)/lib/LINUX/cblas_LINUX.a $(BLASDIR)/blas_LINUX.a -lgfortran I don't know how to execute this line using VC 2008's command line tool cl. As cl obviously does not support -lgfortran, which I think is used to link some library in gfortran to support BLAS.

  I am trying to run django on osx 10.7 (lion) with apache mod_wsgi and virtualenv. My site works if I use the django testing server: (baseline)otter:hello mathew$ python manage.py runserver but it doesn't work when I run apache. • mysql gem for snow leopard

  I had trouble with the gem at first but got it to work when I installed the 64-bit MySQL and reinsatlled the gem with arch flags. So it work in rails. The error I used to get was uninitialized constant MysqlCompat::MysqlRes but that is now gone :) However in Xcode when I run a RubyCocoa project I still get the old error of uninitialized constant MysqlCompat::MysqlRes Does anyone know why this may be? Is it because the gdb is 64-bit? How can it work in Rails but not in RubyCocoa? A little debugging shows that it fails to load mysql_api.bundle /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/mysql-2.8.1/lib/mysql_api.bundle: dlopen(/Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/mysql-2.8.1/lib/mysql_api.bundle, 9): no suitable image found. • WxPython Incompatible With Snow Leopard?

  Hello all, Recently I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and now I can't run programs built with wxPython.   Hi, I use the Registry class to manage values in the Registry on Windows Seven in C#. Registry.GetValue(...); But, I'm facing a curious behavior : Every time, the returned value is the correct one, but sometimes, it is followed by an unexpected "?" When I check the Registry, (regedit), the "?" doesn't exist. I really don't understand from where this question mark come from. Could someone help me please ?   My Site's error log is filled with these errors:- This is an invalid script resource request. Invalid viewstate. Invalid character in a Base-64 string. Invalid length for a Base-64 char array. All these errors are appearing at least 100 times a day. After doing some RnD on internet i have done following things:- 1- define machine key in my web config. 2- created robots.txt file and add ScriptResource.axd file in that. Can some one guide me what I am missing or doing wrong.

• Rails and image gallery: how to make it flexible?

  Hy! In my app, every profile has a gallery and this gallery has images. They can have 1 or 1000 images, so when i show up the gallery i only need a part of the images, let's say 12 images. Then in my ajax gallery when, someone requests more images are loaded. This gallery is SEO, so, the main url is: "/profile-url/" and then, there are these urls too: "/profile-url/images/1" that loads the image with the id=1 in the database. The gallery have to show only 6 images per stack, so When i request the page with the image.id=64, only have to show from 60 to 72, and to select the 64, that is done with js. how may i add a request like this? and how to order them? thanks

However, my actual motivation is to use that restriction in an @annotation. @Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) @Target({ElementType.TYPE, ElementType.FIELD, ElementType.METHOD}) public @interface Presentable { Restrictions[] restrictions() default Restrictions.none; } So that, I intended to do this: @Presentable(restrictions=Restrictions.maxLength.setValue(64)) public String userName; to which, the compiler croaks The value for annotation enum attribute must be an enum constant expression. • Large ResultSet on postgresql query

  I'm running a query against a table in a postgresql database. The database is on a remote machine. The table has around 30 sub-tables using postgresql partitioning capability. The query will return a large result set, something around 1.8 million rows. In my code I use spring jdbc support, method JdbcTemplate.query, but my RowCallbackHandler is not being called. My best guess is that the postgresql jdbc driver (I use version 8.3-603.jdbc4) is accumulating the result in memory before calling my code. I thought the fetchSize configuration could control this, but I tried it and nothing changes. I did this as postgresql manual recomended. This query worked fine when I used Oracle XE. But I'm trying to migrate to postgresql because of the partitioning feature, which is not available in Oracle XE.
