    Why do people say that business logics should be implemented on the server side code (e.g. EJB) and not on the client application code? The example that I have in mind is a business object validation on a EJB based architecture. Does it really have to be delegated to the EJB or is it ok to run it on the client before the object is sent to be server to be saved?

  • Using WebSockets in a C# Web Application?

    I know its possible to use WebSockets within C# using a console application running along side the web application but Im wondering if its possible to use the requests on the C# web application to create the WebSockets. I've been looking through ASP.Net and Im starting to think it wont be possible unless I use straight up C# and create my own HTTP server and then use the same socket object to generate Web Sockets (similar to the way Node.js and Socket.IO work). Any thoughts on ways to include WebSockets on a C# web application without having multiple servers / projects?

  • Update of application Icon in Windows-7 Taskbar

    I have a normal MFC Application with an embedded icon. If I start the application, the icon is shown inside the windows-7 taskbar. But when I change the icon inside the resources, rebuild the application and start it, the taskbar doesn't show the current icon, but the icon from the first run. There is no special code inside the application that does something specific with the windows-7 taskbar. Is there a way, (in C++) to tell the windows-7 taskbar to show the current icon?

But just calling dispose() on the JFrame didn't do the trick - the window vanished but the application did not terminate.     Is there a way to monitor when an application that is using the dll closes? The DLL and the application are both C#, neither are Windows Forms. I can check when the main application is closing, but I would like for the DLL to see "hey the program is closing and releasing me, I should do this real quick before I die". Any way to do it? Or am I stuck having the application dish out "do this before you die"?

  • Automatically running thread stopped after the application idling for more than 1 hour

    I have a web application which runs on IIS 6.0 and it has a thread that runs on the applicaion startup. That thread will run continously after the application startup with a sleep time of 10 seconds (This will update the application cache from getting the data from DB). But once the application is idle for more than 1 hour this thread is no longer running. Please give me a solution for continously run this thread.
