  • CSS menu bar wont show!!! class or ID problem?

    Hello everyone, Please help me with this insanity: http://imageoneads.com/zenliver/ My menu bar worked fine & I accidently deleted or moved one of class or ID. Now it disappeared. All browsers Wont display the menu, except Firefox for Mac. This drives me nut....Cant believe I have to start over if I can't figure it out....Please help....Thanks ahead tran006

  • css/html: white space break fix and now cant code fine?

    Yes, so I got the problem that if you type a long sentence with no space e.g eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, it will break itself, but then now I would need to start typing some ugly non-breaking coding.   • CSS gurus, can I make my absolutely positioned child element force the main parent's height?

    This is kind of hard to explain. I have an absolutely positioned floating secondary content box. It works great in all occurrences. Except, when you submit a form and don't fill out the fields (see here, and push send). The box expands to show the errors, and underneath the footer there is a blank space. The best example I can give is to see it in action (link above). I've played with min-height and it didn't work too good. I'd also like to avoid expanding the footer with code in the event of form errors if I can help it. Should I ditch the absolute positioning? And try with margins? Is there any other way to get it to work?

    I want two horizontal areas in my webpage. The first one is the menu. It's on the top. Unfortunately I don't know its size, and it might change in response to user actions. Below the menu is the main area which should stretch at least as far as the bottom of the window (if there is little content) or beyond (if there is a lot of content. To illustrate with ASCII art: +----------------------------------------------------+ | This area resizes vertically depending on contents | +----------------------------------------------------+ | This area stretches to the bottom of the window, | | but can be even larger if necessary. Added: To put things in perspective and avoid confusion, think of it this way: the top menu is generated by myself, but the bottom area is an IFrame which I want to fill the rest of the page.   • HTML/CSS: What should I use to define image height/width to make it resolution independent?

    I've read all over the Internet that I should not define fonts (or anything) with absolute pixel height/width/size and instead, use EM ... so that on higher resolution displays, my web site can scale appropriately. However, what do I use to define IMAGE height/width ... because images won't scale well (they look pixelated) UPDATE: To clarify, I'm not referring to page zoom. I'm referring to how to make my web application resolution independent so that it will look correct on higher DPI displays.

  • GoogleTv video using VideoView is clipped, even though its in a separate layout of its own

    Wrote an application for GoogleTV box to play a video. The video is a separate activity to the main activity. Wired up a button on my main layout/activity to to start the video activity up (using its own video.xml layout), the video activity loads and starts playing, but the video is clipped, only showing a few centimetres of the bottom. The clipped region looks like the views that occupied the previous layout (main.xml) . The intriguing thing is that if I push the back button, before returning to the main activity the full video frame is shown. Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Any suggestions welcome. I have a standard navigation list, but I'm using page jumping because I wanted a single web page. <ul> <li><a href="#livestream">Livestream</a></li> <li><a href="#media">Media</a></li> <li><a href="#crew">Crew</a></li> <li><a href="#services">Services</a></li> <li><a href="#contact">Contact</a></li> </ul> But I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the class="current" when using page jumping. I've tried this bit of jquery because it appears to be what I'm looking for, but it did nothing. I don't think it'll work for #links. Any ideas?

  • Why is my CSS tool tip not functioning properly in Google Chrome, but fine in Firefox??

    http://betawww.helpcurenow.org/media/press/ You'll see I have used spans within an anchor, with the span.hover-description set to display:none; by default, and on a:hover that span is set to display block and absolutely positioned to create a tool-tip effect when hovering over the name and email of the "For Immediate Release" contact names. Everything looks as desired in Firefox, but Chrome reveals my unknown blunder somewhere. Any help on what's the problem that is causing Chrome to not display like Firefox? Incidentally, Explorer shows the tool tip as expected, although I'm getting a funky bottom margin issue below the names, and Safari has the same issue as Chrome (must be a webkit rendering setting that I need to accommodate for).

  • How to change CSS color values in real-time off a javascript slider?

    I'm making a page where the user gets a javascript slider that goes from 0 to 100 and can use it to set the opacity of a div on the page. I want the opacity of that div to change in real-time as they work the slider. I've not done this before. What's the best approach? There cursor in the slider displays the slider's current value as you move it. It seems to be that I just need to find a way to display that value in any arbitrary other place on the page so I can display it in the style settings for the div. The .js file that generates the slider has a line that (I think) is setting the current value in the cursor: $(this).children(".ui-slider-handle", context).html(parseInt(settings[index]['default'])); TO get this changing number to display somewhere else at the same time, do I just need to add a div somewhere and then add a line like this? $("#newDivId").children(".ui-slider-handle", context).html(parseInt(settings[index]['default'])); That seems like it would give me the number showing up in a div. How then would I get it into a form I could put into the style settings for a div? If this was a php variable, I would do something like this, style="opacity:<?php print $value ?>;" What would be the .js equivalent?

  • Website renders two scroll bars, is it the CSS, xhtml, or some jquery plugin?

    I've come to notice a bug on my website, I see that there's two scroll bars when the window is re-sized from a full sized window (my desktop's 1280x900). This issue is untraceable with Firebug and it shows up on all browsers. I'm using a JQuery UI script on the page as well but I'm not sure if that's what's doing this. What's a good way to go about getting rid of this? Or has anyone ever encountered having two scroll bars on the page? BTW: The in-page scroll bar is actually above the footer, if that helps.

    Why my text has the justify effect? In my whole site, I make echos and i dont specify a "text-align:justify;" but my text is still justifying. Justify is when you make the browser window smaller, the text moves so it fits in the window. I tryed making something like this: <?php echo "<h1>some stuff.</h1>"; ?> <html> <head> <style> h1 { text-align:center; } etc.... but it just makes the text go in the center and it keeps the justify effect. please help me =[ thanks

I want to align the bottom part to be aligned with the footer regardless the content of the center container?

  • Webkit browsers rendering CSS different than Mozilla Firefox...Why??

    I'm styling a form that was already marked up (made some markup changes), and I normally work in Firefox to style so I can use firebug and the web developer toolbar. On this project, I noticed that my styles are displaying quite differently for one particular area (several elements) in webkit based browsers Chrome and Safari, than in Firefox (we won't even get into Internet Explorer, although it is siding with the Firefox display). I can't figure out though why the styles are displaying so differently. Normally there is some rule that I'm neglecting that Firefox just takes for granted, and the others need it specified. But here I'm not getting why it's displaying this way. In particular I'm referring to the bottom area of the form where users can enter their contact info, then submit the form. I'll attach screen shots for reference as to the discrepancy. Here's the URL so feel free to check it out on your own.
