  • How to deal with many to many relationships with NSFetchedResultsController?

    OK so I have two entities in my data model (let's say entityA and entityB), both of these entities have a to-many relationship to each other. I have setup a NSFetchedResultsController to fetch a bunch of entityA. Now I'm trying to have the section names for the tableview be the title of entityB. sectionNameKeyPath:@"entityB.title" Now this causes a problem, where by the section name returned from that relationship appears to be ({title1}) or ({title1,title2...titleN}) obviously depending on how many different entityB's are involved. This doesn't look great in a tableview and doesn't group the objects as I would like. What I would like is a section per entityB title with entityA appearing under each section, under multiple sections if necessary. I'm at a loss as how I am supposed to achieve this whether I need to update the predicate to get the entity to appear multiple times or whether I need to update the section and header functions to do some processing as the controller loops through the objects. Any help is appreciated :) Thanks

  • throws SecurityException when signing with the default debug keystore

    I am receiving a SecurityException since yesterday when I launch the service using signature protection level for permission with the default debug keystore. The strange thing is I wasn't receiving this error before yesterday and I didn't make any security related change. On the other hand, my own keystore using for releases is still working good.   • drawRect is not executing

    I have ClockViewController.h and ClockViewController.m inherited from UIViewController. Also 2 other files ClockView.h and ClockView.m inherited from UIView. In Interface builder i have selected Class "ClockView" for the clock, but my drawRect is not executing. I am calling it via setNeedsDisplay from a timer function. even the timer function is not calling.

  • App dies on startup but not crash report

    I've given an ad hoc version of my app to some users. Two of them have the app die on start up while one user has no issues. I can also install the ad hoc without issue...but that is always the case for me. One user sent the info below from the Xcode Organizer Console. They didn't find any crash logs. I don't know what to make of the info below. The one thing that stands out is "Permission denied". I place the provisioning and myapp.app files in a dropbox folder. The user then retrieves the files from the same location. I've run codesign against the .app file in the dropbox and get valid output: codesign -vvvv myapp.app myapp.app: valid on disk myapp.app: satisfies its Designated Requirement Any one have some ideas how I can figure out why the app doesn't work for this user? Here is the Console output from one user.   • UIWebview does not show up into UINavigationController

    Hi I have a tabBar application. In the first tab, I have a navigation bar. In this navigation bar I have a table view. When the user clicks a cell of the table, it goes to another table view, and when the user clicks a cell in that table, it goes to a webview to open a web page. Basically, it goes fine until opening the webview. In the webview, viewDidLoad is called and seems to work properly. However, webViewDidStartLoad is never called and the web page never shows up. I am not using IB. I build the UITabBarController in the AppDelegate, where I also assign an instance of my UINavigationController for each tab. I call the webview from the second UITableViewController as follows: rssWebViewController = [[webViews objectAtIndex: indexPath.row] objectForKey:@"controller"]; [[self navigationController] pushViewController:rssWebViewController animated:YES]; I have checked that the navigationController is there and it seems just fine.   • NSTimer freezes the app until it gets fired again?

    Hello all, I have a simple app with a button, UIImageView and a NSTimer. The timer is fired up every 5 seconds repeatedly to update the ImageView with a new image, while the button simply stops the timer and switches to another View. The problem is that when I press the button, nothing happens for a few seconds (until the timer fires up again). Is there a way to cause the button to stop the timer and do its job at any given time instead of between intervals of the timer? Thanks!

  • Getting x/y coordinate of a UITouch...

    HI, I have been trying to get the x/y coordinates from a touch on any iDevice. When getting the touch locations, everything looks ok if the touch is in the middle of the screen. But if I drag my finger to the bottom of the screen, I can only get a y coordinate of 1015. It should be getting to 1023. Same thing for dragging my finger to the top of the screen. I get -6. It should be 0. I have explicitly set the window and views to an origin of 0,0 and the width, height of the device's screen. Still nothing. I am really lost on what might be going on. Is something shifted? Am I not reading the x/y coordinates properly. Does something need to be transformed or converted? Any help would be much appreciated. T

    I have two nib files - Main.nib and Preference.nib In Main.nib file I have an instance of NSView class.Its window has a NSPopUpButton which on clicking shows a menu .In the menu I have show Preferences menu item. Menu item on clicking shows a preferences panel containing a color well item. On clicking color well a color panel is displayed to choose the color. The problem is how to apply that color to main application window. My preference panel window is in Preference.nib file. So problem is accessing NSView from another Nib Window. Is there a way so that I can make connection between preference panel and my main application window(NSView)

    Hi. I'm trying to preset the value of a dropdown menu and the value of a text box in an HTML form. As soon as the user taps the button in my iPhone app, it enters the webview and I was hoping to preset one of the dropdown menus and text field. How do I go about this?
