    Using the following html, css,jquery, js, what would be the best approach to achieving this. A visitor hits the website. The website page is displaying html and a css3 animation. The visitor is given the option to enter text freely into a text box, they enter an email address and hit send. The person receiving the message gets an email with a link, when they click the link it takes them to the webpage with the animation and the custom message their friend entered. Is this easy to achieve, what would be the best approach? anyone know of existing code I could use? Thanks

One such recent request was to convert tab selection from what a tab typically does into a url redirect. I'm looking for guidance on where to turn to when these sorts of problems arise.   • DDD: MailService.SendNotificationToUser() or User.Notify()?

    I seem to stumble on problem after problem giving my entities behavior. I have a system where a user gets a notification when someone comments his article. Right now it is via an e-mail. I'm struggeling how to implement this the DDD way. Option 1 User entity has a Notify method: User.Notify() The method uses C# built in classes to send an e-mail notification via e-mail The problem with having this in the domain is that it is technology spesific, and how a user is notified might change in the future. I feel this belongs to infrastructure, but how then can a user have behavior? Option 2 I create a Service: NotificationService.Notify(User) The Service uses C# built in classes to send an e-mail The pro is that the service could be an Application Service, and as far as I know an application service can use the infrastructure and call things like the System.Net.Mail and repositories for that sake. How would you implement this?

  • $.ajax not loading data data everytime from server

    I have written a simple jQuery.ajax function which loads a user control from the server on click of a button. The first time I click the button, it goes to the server and gets me the user control. But each subsequent click of the same button does not goes to the server to fetch me the user control. Since my user control fetches data from db, I need to reload the user control everytime i hit the button. But if anyhow I get my user control to unload from the page, and re-click the button, it goes to the server and fetches me the user control.   • How to setup linux permissions the WWW folder?

    Updated Summery The /var/www directory is owned by root:root which means that no one can use it and it's entirely useless. Since we all want a web server that actually works (and no-one should be logging in as "root"), then we need to fix this. Only two entities need access. PHP/Perl/Ruby/Python all need access to the folders and files since they create many of them (i.e. /uploads/). These scripting languages should be running under nginx or apache (or even some other thing like FastCGI for PHP). The developers How do they get access? I know that someone, somewhere has done this before. With however-many billions of websites out there you would think that there would be more information on this topic. I know that 777 is full read/write/execute permission for owner/group/other. So this doesn't seem to be needed as it leaves random users full permissions. What permissions are need to be used on /var/www so that... Source control like git or svn Users in a group like "websites" (or even added to "www-data") Servers like apache or lighthttpd And PHP/Perl/Ruby can all read, create, and run files (and directories) there? If I'm correct, Ruby and PHP scripts are not "executed" directly - but passed to an interpreter. So there is no need for execute permission on files in /var/www...? Therefore, it seems like the correct permission would be chmod -R 1660 which would make all files shareable by these four entities all files non-executable by mistake block everyone else from the directory entirely set the permission mode to "sticky" for all future files Is this correct? Update: I just realized that files and directories might need different permissions - I was talking about files above so i'm not sure what the directory permissions would need to be. Update 2: The folder structure of /var/www changes drastically as one of the four entities above are always adding (and sometimes removing) folders and sub folders many levels deep. They also create and remove files that the other 3 entities might need read/write access to. Therefore, the permissions need to do the four things above for both files and directories. Since non of them should need execute permission (see question about ruby/php above) I would assume that rw-rw-r-- permission would be all that is needed and completely safe since these four entities are run by trusted personal (see #2) and all other users on the system only have read access. Update 3: This is for personal development machines and private company servers. No random "web customers" like a shared host. Update 4: This article by slicehost seems to be the best at explaining what is needed to setup permissions for your www folder. However, I'm not sure what user or group apache/nginx with PHP OR svn/git run as and how to change them. Update 5: I have (I think) finally found a way to get this all to work (answer below). However, I don't know if this is the correct and SECURE way to do this. Therefore I have started a bounty. The person that has the best method of securing and managing the www directory wins.

  • iTunes 9.0.2 hangs on launch on Mac OS X 10.6.2

    My iTunes 9.0.2 hangs on launch in OS X 10.6.2. This doesn't happen all the time, only if I've been running for a while. Then it will recur until I restart. Similarly Safari 4.0.4 will hang in the flash player plugin when about to play a video. If I restart both these problems go away until later. Based on this crash dump I am suspecting Audio Hijack Pro. I will try to install a newer version of the driver involved, but so far I haven't had much luck. I have uninstalled the Flash Plugin (10.0.r42 and r32) but clearly I want it in the long run. This is iTunes' crash report.     Say i have a svn repository at https://www.mysvn.com/svn/. How can i use SharpSVN to figure out whether the remote folder https://www.mysvn.com/svn/a/b/c exists on the server? I need to do it an a way that allows me to tell the difference between a failed connection (ie server down) and the folder simply not having been created yet. Calling info on the full https://www.mysvn.com/svn/a/b/c path does not seem to give an exception that enables me to tell the difference between no repository at all and just a missing folder. I could list all files for https://www.mysvn.com/svn/ but the repository can easily be so big that this can take too long. Right now im doing an info on first the root url and then on the full url. If the root url fails i treat it as a server problem, but if it succeeds and the full url fails i assume its because part of the path hasnt been created on the server.

    I want to quickly find the total size of any folder using python. def GetFolderSize(path): TotalSize = 0 for item in os.walk(path): for file in item[2]: try: TotalSize = TotalSize + getsize(join(item[0], file)) except: print("error with file: " + join(item[0], file)) return TotalSize That's the simple script I wrote to get the total size of the folder, it took around 60 seconds (+-5 seconds). By using multiprocessing I got it down to 23 seconds on a quad core machine. Using the Windows file explorer it takes only ~3 seconds (Right click- properties to see for yourself). So is there a faster way of finding the total size of a folder close to the speed that windows can do it? Windows 7, python 2.6 (Did searches but most of the time people used a very similar method to my own) Thanks in advance.

I wish to incorporate the value selected in the RadioButtons dialog as part of the Installation Folder. To do this I've placed the name of the variable amongst the path where I wish to use it in the DefaultLocation: [ProgramFilesFolder][Manufacturer]\[ProductName]\[BUTTON3] The effect of this is that the default value for the variable, BUTTON3 in the example above, is resolved as part of the folder, not the selected value. Anybody know how to make this variable use delayed expansion in some way to get the selected value?

  • Simple VM That allows booting from folder or disk

    I was wondering if there was a very simple and free virtual machine that would allow you to boot from a folder or disk image that couldn't damage my hard disk. I am using a MacBook and am looking into operating system programming. I found a tutorial on the internet that looked promising (http://www.viralpatel.net/taj/tutorial/hello_world_bootloader.php). I want to try this but using a VM instead of actually booting from a disk. If I made a folder or disk image containing the boot.bin file and wanted to try the OS I made (while booting from a folder or disk image, not a disk), is there a VM that would let me do it? I have no previous experience with virtual machines. I also want to be sure my hard disk would not be damaged.

    I have a windows desktop application whose application data is stored in the All Users/Application Data/ My Company folder. Now when I install my application on an Windows XP machine using an Administrator login. If I run my application using that administrator's login it works well but when I tried to run my application using a normal users login on that machine it fails. The reason for failure is that the normal user is not able to write anything in the All Users/Application data/ My Company folder. Now is any kind of permission is required for All Users folder on Windows XP machine. If yes then from where I can set that permission.

    Hello, I'm going to host an app on a shared host and there I couldn't create virtual host or change something at apache. Often apps with ZF looks like that: root public index.php .htaccess application library I have sth. like that: root application index.php .htaccess All my code is in the application folder. But there are also some .ini and .xml files with sensitive information e.g. login names and passwords and so on... If I add a .htaccess in the application folder with deny from all is the information secure inside the folder?

  • make inference rule for files in a folder

    I use GNU make, I want my source files and object files to be in different folders. As a first step, I want the source files at the root of my project folder, and the object files in a subfolder (say Debug/). The inference rule would be: .ss.obj: echo Assembling $*.ss... $(ASSEMBLY) $(2210_ASSEMBLY_FLAGS) $*.ss -o Debug\$*.obj but in that case, make rebuilds all files all the time, since there are no .obj in the root folder. Is there a way to include a folder for the target in the line .ss.obj? I also tried: $(OBJS_WITH_PATH):$(SRC) echo Assembling $<... $(ASSEMBLY) $(ASSEMBLY_FLAGS) $< -o $@ with $(SRC) as a list of all my sources, $(OBJS_WITH_PATH) built that way: OBJS_WITH_PATH = $(patsubst %.ss,Debug\\%.obj,$(SRC)) but that builds a dependency on all source files for all object files. What I would like is to modify the inference rule I wrote first, to take Debug/*.obj files. What it says now is no rule to make target Debug/asdfasdf.obj.
