  • UIView, UIScrollView and UITextFields problem calling Method

    I have a view with several embedded UITextFields, this UIView is subordinated to a UIScrollView in IB. Each text field is supposed to invoke a method called updateText defined in the viewcontroller implementation file when the user is done editing the field. For some reason, the method updateText never gets invoked. Anyone have any ideas how to go about fixing this? The method fired off just fine when the UIScrollView was not present in the project but the keyboard would cover the text fields during input, which was annoying. Now my textfields move up above the keyboard when it appears, but won't fire off the method when done editing.   • Load XML file on seperate thread, overwrite old , and save.

    Hey everyone... so Im trying to figure out how to do this. I have bounced around alot of forums to try and find my answer, but no success. Either their process it too complicated for me to understand, or is just overkill. What I am trying to do is this. I have an XML file within my app. Its a 500k xml file that i dont want the user to have to wait on when loading. SO... I put it in my app which kills the load time, and makes the app available offline. What i want to do is, when the app loads, in the background (seperate thread) download the SAME xml file which MIGHT be updated with new data. Once the xml file is complete, i want to REPLACE the xml file that was used to load the file. Any suggestions or code hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Facebook Connect Post Feed from iPhone App without preview Broken!? URGENT!

    Hello All: I just downloaded the latest FBConnect build, popped in my keys and getting a mysterious hanging error only when I try to post a feed without previewing (setting preview to zero). The activity indicated disappears and the blank dialog window just hangs there. (This mirrors what I was getting on the app I was developing). If I try to post a feed with preview it works; set preview to zero it just hangs. Again; thats with the sample project "Publish Feed" button. Hitting getting permission button and then Publish Feed does same thing...... Other Developers have confirmed seeing this too...Apps that have previously had working feed posts have been broken for weeks. Discussions on facebook connect forum seem to be related to this.   • Producer Consumer Issue with Core Data

    I've a Core Data application. In the producer thread, I pull data from a web service and store it in my object and call save. My consumer object is a table view controller that displays the same. However, the app crashes and I get NSFetchedResultsController Error: expected to find object (entity: FeedEntry; id: 0xf46f40 ; data: ) in section (null) for deletion on the console. When I debug it, everything works fine. So I understood that it's like a race issue. How is these kind of problem solved? What's the best way to design a producer-consumer app with core-data?

  • Embedding Youtube Videos on user's wall with the Javascript API

    I'm attempting to embed a Youtube video on a user's wall using the Javascript API. I've poured over a bunch of different tutorials and came up with this: var data = { method: 'feed', link: current_video_url, // Link to the vide on our site source: current_video_src, // Link to the Youtube video, http://youtube.com/v/[hash] picture: current_picture_url, // Thumbnail from youtube title: current_video_title, // Title from our page caption: current_video_description // Text from our page } FB.ui(data); Running the Facebook Debugger shows that the current_video_url link is being properly parsed for OG tags and is available as an embedded video. I ran a debugger and all the variables are being properly set in the data variable. This worked fine for about 2 days, and then we pushed the site live. We set up a new AppID in Facebook but now all the videos are just thumbnails instead of being embedded in the user's wall. I thought maybe this is a problem with the live site but now the dev site is broken too. What's the best way to get this to work consistently?

    I have a website that I wish to load in a UIWebView, but it is full of images and takes ages to load. The images are useless, and only serve to reduce the usability on the iPhone. I dont own the website so I cannot change the site's actual code. The webpage is heavily linked in to the web with ASP.NET and AJAX (needs external files), so i dont think it is possible to have it load an HTML string. I want to stop the images from loading altogether. So how do i block them? Change the HTML code as its loading somehow, or block images from being loaded?

  • Google Drive Update keeps throwing an error when I try to save a thumbnail

    The Base64 string checks out fine. I was able to export it to another website and download it again as my image. When I try to do an update using the Drive Javascript api, it just keeps returning this error: Invalidvaluefor:Notavalidbase64bytestring I also true making the string URL safe. Per this page https://google-api-client-libraries.appspot.com/documentation/drive/v2/python/latest/drive_v2.files.html Am I doing something wrong here, the documentation says send Base64, the string is valid and, the string is intact throughout the process, but Google will not accept it? I am using the javascript api, I think there is maybe a bug sending the thumbnail using the javascript api.     Hey Guys .. I am new to programming in Objective C . I checked many tutorials on reading data in sqlite3 , but almost all of them have show the data in UITableView . I have a page where the user types in the password, the password lets say 1234 is saved in the database ( I have created a table already ) . I have got the database into the project folder . I just want a statement like if(databasepassword == correct from the uitextfield ) { show next page } else { password is incorrect.text } I will figure out on how to show the next page and display the password is incorrect.text I just want a method to cross check with the password saved in the database . How can I do that ? Regards

  • drawRect is not executing

    I have ClockViewController.h and ClockViewController.m inherited from UIViewController. Also 2 other files ClockView.h and ClockView.m inherited from UIView. In Interface builder i have selected Class "ClockView" for the clock, but my drawRect is not executing. I am calling it via setNeedsDisplay from a timer function. even the timer function is not calling.

    Hi, I am getting the time using a time picker and displaying the time in the text view using following code... private TimePickerDialog.OnTimeSetListener mTimeSetListener = new TimePickerDialog.OnTimeSetListener() { public void onTimeSet(TimePicker view, int hourOfDay, int minute) { Toast.makeText(SendMail.this, "Your Appointment time is "+hourOfDay+":"+minute, Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); TextView datehid = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.timehidden); datehid.setText(String.valueOf(hourOfDay)+ ":"+(String.valueOf(minute))); } }; Now, the issue is when i set the time as 8:00 pm then i get the time displayed as 20:0... I want to display the time as 8:00 pm... How can i do that???

    I'm working in address book for iphone. it generate address into UILabel. when I'm running the application everything goes well, but after showing about %30 of the addresses and sadenly stopped without any reason! Only in terminal shows: Error, could not create MachMessagePort for database doctor (com.apple.addressbook.migrationdaemon) starting in process migration Please help me!

  • iPhone: Accessing Composite Name in AddressBook Causes EXC_BAD_ACCESS

    Hi everyone. I'm new to iPhone development and have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have a programmer working on an iPhone app for me and when I run the app in the simulator, it works great. But when I try to run it on my actual iPhone, I get a EXC_BAD_ACCESS error and the app locks up. Looking at the debugger, it's referencing the following code in my MainController as the problem: -(void)loadAddressBook{ NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; addressBookLoaded=1; [AddressbookRecord readAllContactTable:[self getDBPath]]; ABAddressBookRef addressBook = ABAddressBookCreate(); for(NSUInteger i=1;i<=ABAddressBookGetPersonCount(addressBook);i++) { ABRecordRef myPerson =ABAddressBookGetPersonWithRecordID (addressBook,(ABRecordID)(i)); NSString *name = (NSString*)ABRecordCopyCompositeName(myPerson); //save in database AddressbookRecord *addObj = [[AddressbookRecord alloc] initWithPrimaryKey:0]; addObj.ClientName=name; [addObj addNewContactEntry]; } addressBookLoaded=2; [pool release]; } More specifically, it points to this specific line as the problem: NSString *name =(NSString*)ABRecordCopyCompositeName(myPerson); My programmer can't seem to figure out what the problem is since he can't replicate it on his end.   • How to auto-increment reference number persistently when NSManagedObjects created in core-data.

    In my application i am using core-data to store information and saving these data to the server using web-connectivity i have to use MySql. Basically what i want to do is to keep track of number of NSManagedObject already created and Whenever i am adding new NSManagedObject, based on that counting it will assign the class a Int_value which will act as primary_key in MySql. For examaple, there are already 10 NSManagedobjects, and when i will add new one it will assign it "11" as primary_key. these value will have to be increasing because there is no deleting of NSManagedObject. From my approach its about static member in applicationDelegate whose initial value can be any integer but should be incremented by one(like auto-increment) everytime new NSManagedObject is created and also it should be persistent. I am not clear how to do this, please give me suggestions. Thanks in advance.

  • throws SecurityException when signing with the default debug keystore

    I am receiving a SecurityException since yesterday when I launch the service using signature protection level for permission with the default debug keystore. The strange thing is I wasn't receiving this error before yesterday and I didn't make any security related change. On the other hand, my own keystore using for releases is still working good. Related AndroidManifest.xml part: <permission android:name="com.my.app.privateservices" android:protectionLevel="signature" /> <service android:name=".MyService" android:permission="com.my.app.privateservices" />
